Stopped in this week for a quick to-go order. Don't be alarmed if you don't see anyone in the dining room...I think this is primarily a to-go kind of place. There is a comfortable bar/lounge area that is popular with the video poker crowd. I picked up some salt and pepper chicken and chicken lo mein. Both entrees were absolutely delicious! Best salt and pepper chicken I have found here in Portland. Admittedly, both dishes are fairly simple, but the preparation here showcases the freshness of the ingredients and the proper seasonings. The food is pretty good, but the atmosphere is awful. Ok, I said it, so let's start with it. It feels like you're eating dinner at the dry cleaner. This store front restaurant does little to create any ambiance. No steps are taken to separate the pickup counter from the dining room, except for 2 short dividers. The walls are blank and the furniture reminiscent of a cheap cafeteria. The food is remarkably tasty, though. We'll, at least what we actually got. This place is still suffering the pandemic blues. There was one person working the floor and it appeared only one in the kitchen. Our appetizers arrived and were tasty. It took almost an hour to get our entre, then it was wrong. We waited another 30 minutes before we left because it never arrived. I'm sure that once this place gets its act back together, it will be very good--for takeout that is. Excellent food and service. Our family just held our Holiday Gathering in the private room. It was just perfect. I can not say enough about Annie and the staff - lovely casual setting, holiday lights and wonderful food. Highly recommend - I see many more gatherings in our future ! read more

Ordered this because I saw the good reviews and if you live in the neighborhood you know there's not a lot of options over here. It's some real basic average Chinese food. It's not cheap either. Location is very seedy looks like they have a bar and some gambling going on inside I'm guessing they make more money from this than the food. read more

Food is good. Service is great. The prices are affordable and make sense. The wonton in chili sauce appetizer is the best!

The friendliest family restaurant that I've ever patronized. Annie is great! The food is made fresh while you wait. Mongolian beef and Special Lo Mein was fantastic. Great little hidden gem! So far have tried the broccoli beef and house made dumplings--both very solid dishes. After talking to the owner, found that they can also make other Cantonese style dishes that aren't on the menu. Ownership and chef has changed (they said about one year now) so if you've come to this location prior, you should definitely give it another chance. The restaurant itself is very cozy and rarely busy, but they get a lot of takeout orders. Excited to come back and try more! read more

Best Kung Pao chicken I've had in the Portland area. Skip the fried stuff and go straight for the entrees. Beef and Broccoli was delicious too. Such great flavors! The salty peanuts they gave us to snack on were so addicting and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely come back! read more

Finally a good Chinese place nearby! Coming from the Bay Area and now living in LO, this is a little bit further of a drive but way worth it! Ordered the salt and pepper fish, garlic wings, beef broccoli, general tsos chicken, potstickers, and combo lo mein. The batter on the fish and wings were excellent. So crispy, even after driving it home. Everything was great, although I thought the lo mein was a little mild for my taste. I never got to try the potstickers because my kids ate them all. I'm definitely going back to try the rest of the menu. read more

We were pleasantly surprised. When they first opened, I wasn't excited about their menu choices, as my family doesn't love seafood. But I heard from three different people yesterday that it was pretty good, so then I checked the reviews. I revisited the menu and found a million great choices. All was solid, baseline good (not Sungari Pearl or Taste of Sichuan level), but good. Salt + pepper tofu was amazing however. We tried 8 different things. Happy they are in our neighborhood to be able to support them, and can't wait to try more. read more

We had heard this was a good place, and looking for a new Chinese restaurant, decided to give it a try. Was not impressed in the least. The decor leaves little to be desired. Although the waitress (owner?) was polite and kind, it took quite a while to get our tea which had not yet been made, although it was 5:45 and there were no others dining at the time. Our two ordered dishes came ten minutes apart. The chicken with mushrooms was adequate. The pork belly lo mein had little flavor and the pork belly itself was dry and burnt. Quite delicious vegetable deluxe and we really enjoyed the wontons in chili sauce. We'll definitely be back.

We tried Tango Crab this evening. I noticed the location had changed ownership so we wanted to give it a try. All the food was fresh and tasty: wontons in chili sauce, green beans, broccoli beef and sweet sour chicken. The staff was friendly, food came out in a timely manner and was fresh and hot. We all enjoyed our meal with leftovers to bring home. We plan on returning again, glad to have another spot in the neighborhood to try. The menu offers a number of seafood items and some tofu items as well, we will try some of those next time. The location is tucked away, but worth a look. read more

Surprisingly good considering the previous restaurant in this location was not. We had the green beans, Mandarin beef and shrimp and chili sauce. All of it was very delicious. We wanted to try this new restaurant with high hopes Called, busy signal for 10 minutes, then got through, heard talking in background, waiting for 15 minutes. My husband went down to order in person,met 8-10 people in lobby, 2 tables seated in dining room, a few in the bar, however no wait staff, no front person to take order, no bar tender..no food here. We would NEVER try this place again. Terrible no customer service, including yelling on phone trying to get anyone's attention. We'll see if they make it. Terrible! read more

We were trying to find a new Chinese restaurant near my parents home and struck gold with Tango Crab. Don't be surprise by the "hole in the wall" appearance, what's inside is worth trying. We were the only diners in the restaurant, but there was constant to-go traffic. We had the lemon chicken that was not only tasty but moist. We also got the sweet and sour shrimp and broccoli beef which were ok. But the best surprise was the house fried rice. It was loaded with seafood and other things. As everyone else has mentioned, the hostess was welcoming. Will need to return on our next visit to Portland. read more

This place is crazy good. Replaces a restaurant that no one would visit. This is new as of September and family owned. Chef is Louisiana-trained and the owners are Chinese. The combination is adventurous and surprisingly compatible. Annie, the Maitre'd and server, will be your guide. Totally conversant in English. Put your trust in her when you're ordering. read more

We've been looking for a new local Chinese spot and we found Tango Crab. We had the salt and pepper shrimp and the Mongolian beef. The shrimp was amazing! It was crispy with just the right amount of salt and the pepper and onions really rounded out the dish. The beef was tender and flavorful. We're looking forward to our next visit and trying more of the menu. Annie, our waitress, was great and very attentive. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for Chinese. read more

We have been eating at Tango weekly since they opened and keep having customer service issues. I have hit my limit after several instances of poor service. I just assumed it was them learning the business, but it keeps happening. This eve I was totally ignored while the owner continued to serve people in the bar - people that arrived after me. She would look at me and then help the next person who walked into the bar. I assumed it was because she recognized me and knew my order wasn't ready. I finally asked to be helped and she went off to help others again. She just left those of us in the lobby to stand around and wait. When she finally came over she got my name and checked on my order. It was clear she never put it in. No apology or anything. It had already been twice the time she told me my order would take. I know she knows me because I frequent their business a lot, always tip and I never complained about any of the issues. This eve I told her not to worry about it and walked out without our food. I'm super bummed, but it was the final straw and I will not be retuning. read more

So happy to have a legit Chinese place in our neighborhood. Garlic wings were amazing and huge. Spicy Wontons were awesome and the Fried Rice was excellent as well, especially the chicken.
