The service here is very friendly, the portion sizes are large, but the food is very mediocre. One of the interesting things to me was the breading on their orange chicken. It's fried in a thick dough, kind of like food at the fair.... The Kung Pao beef had very fresh vegetables, but they didn't appear to be cooked in the sauce so it didn't blend well with the flavors. We do take out. The place is small and always clean and smalls great! Huge portions "HUGE" it's two meals in one container. And the prices cannot be beat! We looked for a place for Chinese food that was close and the food here looked good for what we normally eat. The sweet and sour chicken was cooked well with crispy fried batter on the outside, but the chicken tasted bland. The Mongolian beef was full of onions and pepper and the flavor was good but the meat was all gummy. The same with the sesame beef, chewy meat encased in thick batter that in some places were undercooked. They up charged for tofu chowmein and it was tasty, so best dish out of all we ordered. I am blown away by any positive reviews coming from this place. I was looking for good Chinese food and, by the reviews, this was the place to go. We ordered a few dishes and hot and sour soup to go. The lady working there saw that my wife was very pregnant and decided to replace the hot and sour with egg drop soup because "it was good for the baby" (a very nice and friendly gesture that we genuinely appreciated but absolutely not what we ordered). I clarified that we still wanted hot and sour but we were instead ushered along with her "good gesture". In any case, when we got home we tried all of the different foods that we ordered and they all either lacked flavor, tasted off from what you would expect, and/or seemed like week old, microwaved leftovers; nothing crispy or freshly cooked. Before Covid I've eaten before and the food was amazing and truly authentic Asian cuisine. Now after covid the place is cold enough that you can see your breath, also the tea is so water down that it looks like very light brown water I couldn't tell if it was tea or old pipe tap water that was heated. I ordered the combination meal that came with egg flower soup, it was barely warm and it was like eating loose gelatin, after three sips I spit out the third and told them to stop making my food. Employees asked if I wanted my soup microwaved but I told them "I want hot soup not reheated in a microwave soup." When we picked up, the lady was very nice and said she gave us the family size rice and soup to be nice. We were so grateful for the extra food until we ate it. The chicken added to the eggplant was literally general TSOs chicken from my wife's order, mixed with the eggplant that was basically battered mush. After ordering our meals, we were served lukewarm soup. The entrees followed shortly thereafter and were presented in to-go containers with no sauce. I looked down at mine and there was a hair on the noodles. I told the woman, who was standing there, and she held the box up to her face, removed the hair and then closed the container and told me she would be be back with a new order. At that point, I had lost my appetite and we told her this was not the dining experience we were looking for. We will not be returning. read more

If you expect authentic Chinese, then this is not the restaurant for you. Also don't be fool by the name of the dishes. Their ma po tofu is really just cubed tofu in brown sauce. The special comes with sweet and sour chicken (deep fried and served with that bright red sauce) which was not very good. The beef and broccoli was overcooked and the beef was rather slimy. I am still searching for a great neighborhood Chinese restaurant. This one is getting close, but still not quite there. Definitely Chinese-American style here. We've been twice now. First time we ate there and enjoyed the friendly service. They were pretty fast too. Second time I got take out. I called my order in and it was waiting for me when I got there 20 minutes later. Their food is good, imo, but not amazingly great. They certainly give large portions, so you feel like you're getting your money's worth. Over our 2 visits, we tried the dry sauteed string beans with almonds, Mongolian beef, General Tso's chicken, and Pork with tangy sauce. They seem to be pretty heavy-handed with the Five Spice powder. We really did not care for the General Tso's - it was fried, and heavy with sweet red sauce that overwhelmingly tasted of Five Spice. Which I like a lot, just not THAT much. We noticed it in the Pork with tangy sauce too, but it wasn't quite as strong. The pork had a lot of julienned veggies and a lot of sauce. Mongolian beef is pretty tasty, but it's pretty oily. And they over-tenderized the beef, more than I prefer at least. The beef had a lot of sliced onions too, but good flavor, though not hot. Green beans were again the best of the dishes we tried, but I had to add a little salt. The almonds are a different touch, and I kind of like it. On all of these, I ordered them extra spicy. Didn't happen. I guess they are just catering to the American palate. If it sounds like I didn't like Kuang's Kitchen, you're wrong. It's good, and I'd go there again because it's not too far away for me, but I'm not going to crave this stuff. read more
