    Chicken and veggies

I like to order lots of veggies and chicken for lunch. Chicken is very tender and flavorful. Menu states 2 lbs of food and I believe it. Always enough for take home for another meal. Comes with rice and tea for $12.50.

Egg flower soup from combo dinner to go style.

We did takeout this evening and were highly impressed. Only 15 minutes for pickup. The combo dinners are massive and delicious. The serving sizes will easily result in leftovers! The crab rangoons are phenomenal. The pork fried rice was a tad on the dry side, but the only thing that was a little off.

Great easy local Chinese. Place is clean, very friendly, consistent and fair price. Never seen anyone eat inside, it's typically to go.

We came in and although the place was mostly empty of customers the place was clean and had a nice aesthetic. We ordered the main attraction which is the Hot Pot which you can customize however you like, along with chicken fried rice which were both very delicious. People started showing up as we were eating which helped with the emptiness. Such a lovely place, don't hesitate to come in at give it a try!

I really like the individual hot pot concept. You get to pick exactly what you want--vegetables, meat, seafood, noodles, and other ingredients--then choose your own soup base. The experience is a little like Mongolian barbecue because you select your own ingredients, but instead of grilling them, everything is cooked in your personal hot pot. The price is based on the weight of the ingredients you choose. It's also similar to traditional Chinese hot pot, except everyone gets their own pot instead of sharing one. I actually prefer this because everyone can enjoy a different soup base and customize their meal without having to compromise. I ordered the No. 6 spicy dry pot (without broth) and chose the mild spice level. It had a nice kick without being overwhelmingly spicy. My husband chose the tomato soup base, which had a rich, delicious flavor. He practically finished the entire bowl of broth and commented that it felt like such a healthy, comforting meal with all the vegetables he added. Overall, we had a great dining experience. The food was flavorful, the staff were friendly and attentive, and we loved the fun, customizable dining concept. We'll definitely be coming back and would happily recommend Big Hey Hot Pot to anyone looking for a delicious and unique hot pot experience.

Measured against San Francisco Chinese I give it 4 stars. Measuring it against Chinese in towns like my own Sacramento, I give it 4.5 stars. Love that they offer a Mu Shu chicken option because I don't eat pork - it was really good. A little too heavy on the onion (and the onion was in large pieces instead of blending in more with the dish as I'm used to), but it was still fabulous. The hand cut noodles were as great as advertised - definitely get at least mild spice to get more flavor than the no spicy (that's on me, I'm scared of what Asian restaurants think is "hot," especially Thai and Indian, so I will wasn't taking any chances with it and said no spice). Hubby said bathroom needs a deep clean and maybe a refresh so deducted a bit from that. Service was prompt and nice and not lurking which I appreciate. Lots of tables with Chinese people eating which is always a good sign in my book.

For the quality of meat we ordered, it was a given for the high price. Food was great, I recommend ordering the tomato soup base, that was everyone's favorite and it was super flavorful. Another must order item is the fish ball with roe, super rich in flavors. In term of cleanliness, everything was clean for the most part but my mom did noticed residues on her plates. We had a staff replace it. Staff were very attentive in checking in on us and making sure our water was filled. A+ for customer service, very rare to find attentive staff nowadays. Every soup base we've tried has had great depth, and the quality of the meats really stands out; fresh, well-sliced, and perfect for cooking in the broth. The restaurant itself is spacious and nicely decorated, making it comfortable for both family dinners and group gatherings. Ordering is also very convenient since each table has an iPad, so it's easy to browse options and add items without waiting for staff. A solid and reliable choice if you're looking for authentic, flavorful hot pot in the Bethany area.
