We put our home on the market and needed to fumigate it prior to closing the sale. I had 4 different companies come to the house for an inspection and to provide us with an estimate for the work that needed to be completed. Each company performed an inspection but out of the four, Anteater Termite was the most thorough of all. We had an appointment for an inspection on a Saturday at 1:30. We drove down to the property and waited for their representative to arrive. Alex showed up almost an hour early and he was ready to get to work! I really appreciate companies that are punctual, if not early. Alex was very meticulous with his inspection. He left no stones unturned. He went through every room, climbed into the attic, examined the garage, took measurements, and did a careful inspection of the exterior. Once he was finished, he showed me areas of concern. He made sure that I understood exactly what he was talking about. I knew that the home had evidence of drywood and subterranean termites so nothing was new to me. However, it is all about what he found and how he would make the repairs. We wanted to make sure that the home will be ready at the close of escrow. I spoke at length with Kelly at their office. We communicated via email and telephone. If I was slow to respond to her emails, she called me to check in. I really appreciated this as I am relatively busy nowadays. Since the home is in escrow, the funds will be paid through the proceeds from the sale of the home. Documentation was sent to myself, the escrow company, and the listing agent. I was told that their employees would be at the house between 2:30-4:30 last Friday. However, they had a cancellation and their ETA was moved to 11:30-12:30. They showed up just before 11:30! Their crew got to work, making sure that food was removed from the home as well as any medications that we may have overlooked. I would say that they had 5-6 people working as a team and before I knew it, the tent was up! I was told that they'd be back to remove the tent on Monday between 6:30-7:30 AM. I made the drive from OC to LA County, arriving at the property at 6:34. They were already at the home and the tent was halfway removed. I gave them the key and they proceeded to enter the home. They checked the air quality levels and gave me the clearance to enter the home. We left the windows open to continue to let the house air out. By 9:00, another crew showed up to make some repairs to the home. Termites love to chew on wood and they needed to make some repairs to the exterior and interior of the home. While the home is still in great shape, these termites still found a way to use some portions as a snack! The wood was replaced, repaired, and repainted on the exterior. The home also has some original hardwood flooring still in place. They made the repairs to a couple of areas and it looks fabulous. I am grateful that Anteater Termite was able to accommodate us with short term notice. The paperwork stated that they needed two weeks advance notice to tent a home. They got it done within the same week. Now, we will be able to proceed with the sale of the home with peace of mind. They are an honorable operation that does good work and stands by their commitment to a satisfied customer. A few years after a tenting it was time for a little termite tune-up. Alex came out, surveyed in, out, and under to see what needed attention. On the day, his young, flexible assistant sprayed down under where it can get rather tight, while Alex did some concrete drilling and spraying out around the perimeter. A few hours later my Flume device (https://flumewater.com/product/) alerted me to a slow leak. It showed that the leak started while they were here (at 11:44AM). Upon notification, Alex came out, investigated and chose the exact spot where he may have punctured a PVC irrigation pipe. The next day he came out with two helpers, cut out a square of concrete, dug down about 1', and there it was; a cute little 1" PVC pipe gurgling at .01 gallon/minute. Repaired PVC, replaced soil, poured new concrete, tidied up, went home. At no time was there any mention of payment for this unexpected service. Mishaps happen. Smart businesses take responsibility even if there is no negligence to be assigned. And the termites are gone! read more

Anteater Termite just left our house after doing a walk through inspection (they fumigated our house a few years ago when we moved in, so I am a repeat customer) and I was really pleased with my experience with them. I was concerned because I found a scattering of termite droppings under a previous termite damaged beam in my garage. They took a look and were able to discern that it was leftover termite droppings from the first time they fumigated, rather than fresh droppings and damage (phew!). They proceeded to walk through the rest of the house, just to make sure that there were no signs of wood decay or wood damage from termites. As they did the walk through, they pointed out areas that I could be proactive with to prevent future termite damage-- there are several gaps in and around my windows which could let in moisture, which would encourage termites to come and chew on the damp wood. They suggested caulking any exposed gaps between the windows and the wood it sits on, along with additional caulking and paint in a couple of joints in the framing and fascia of my house that have slight gaps that have opened up as the building settles. It was a fast, but thorough visit and they were very patient answering my questions and very understanding of my termite paranoia. I appreciate that they didn't try to upsell me on any products or push me into feeling like I needed to do something "just in case" since that would've been easy money for them. I always appreciate a vendor who says "No you don't need this" even when it's in their best interest to get me to buy something from them. My Mom's house had extreme Termite damage, and I got several estimates from different companies. Alex Moon from Anteater came out and did such a thorough job inspecting, poking at wood, changing into coveralls going under the house, and up in the attic. Other companies just did the flashlight viewing and said, " Yeah, you got extensive Termite damage." DUH!! Alex noted and provided pictures and videos of what he saw, especially under the house where a joist had to be repaired/replaced due to the termite damage. Sam Choi the termite inspector is very professional and great customer service. He checked the whole house and advised me that a tent fumigation is needed because of severe drywood termite infestation in the attic. He informed me that local treatment is a waste of money that I may need to do it every year and fumigation is going to keep the termites away for at least 7-10 years. We also need to replace couple fascia boards caused by termite damage. His crew came the next Monday (tent was removed Saturday) to replace the fascia boards on the attic. His crew was professional, efficient and painted the new replacement wood boards. I have used other termite companies before and nobody can beat Anteater service.
