Beware of any prepaid packages because they expire after a year. I had 9 prepaid sessions left, but they just expired on 12/26 and they made no offer to extend. To me this seems like bad business. I prepaid for those sessions. Prepaid money should not expire. read more

Although I have only been once (I just signed up yesterday), I like what I see so far! I was looking for a convenient place to tan quickly after work in or near Alamo. The location is fabulous! It seems very clean, nicely decorated, lots of beds (it was practically empty!) and they provide towels, music, eyewear, etc. The girl that was working the front desk was really sweet and friendly which I enjoyed. Although I did find their prices a little steep (I'm used to Chico prices at $25 month unlimited), tanning in the bay area is typically expensive! $50 a month for unlimited is a manageable deal. Paying per tan is a total waste of money. So far, I'm diggin this place! As for the reviewer below me, it states on the sheet you sign when you sign up that if you do not use your account for 90 days, they cancel it. I'm not a huge fan of the policy, but at that point it isnt their responsibility anymore! read more

Ok...before I get all mocked by my friends. I don't go there to tan. I go there for the massage. Very convenient in Alamo...and Connie is really good. I hate it when you have a massage and there isn't any pressure. Connie digs in and gets the knots out of my back and calves. Connie gets 5 stars. Don't go there if you expect the setting to be spa-like. They'll play peaceful music...but the place is small so you can still hear people getting sprayed or tanning...so it's not like a spa resort. Came in last week to get a mystic tan and was relieved to find they had a newer mystic tanning booth. My tan came out fairly even which can be hard to find with some of these mystic spray tanning machines. I did the medium shade and it looked more natural. I used the Mystic Tan machine here. I think it is one of the originals. It is old, didn't look like it had been cleaned between uses and was messy. I am used to using the machines that tell you when to turn - this is the first time I've been in a machine so old and it just sprayed without telling you what was going to happen. The spray was extremely wet and I felt like I was inhaling it the whole time. Unlike other machines I've used where the spray is more like air and actually have a blower at the end to dry you off. I was dripping when I came out and only partially tan because I didn't realize it wasn't going to give me 4 turns! If that wasn't bad enough, when I got out I looked at my feet (that had been freshly pedicured) and they were black! I put a mound of barrier cream on them beforehand so the only explanation is that the floor was that dirty. I can't speak to other services but the Mystic Tan is old and dirty and it doesn't look like they clean very often. read more

Just had my first massage at Tans plus Med Spa with Connie and she did an amazing job! She utilized the entire 60 minutes to bring me pure relief from a migraine and tension in my upper back that I've been suffering from. She used her whole body to put the perfect amount of pressure to hit every spot I needed (and didn't know I needed!). Truly the BEST massage I've ever had! Being a physician and mother of two small kiddos I am always on the go and in need of some TLC. I will be telling everyone about this hidden gem! Amazing Massage! I found Tans Plus Med Spa when I really wanted a last minute massage. I walked in and met Connie. She is amazing!! I have been back 3 times now, always with Connie. She is professional, knowledgeable, and strong. I highly recommend Connie for your next massage. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is that it isn't a 5 star atmosphere. This place is decorated nice and they give you a bottle of cold water on your way out, that's the plus side. What really upset me is they threw my stuff out without even calling me. I purchased about $200 worth of credit. I used about $30 worth. It expires after 6 months or a year. I wasn't aware of this, but it was posted on the counter, so I can't argue if that's their policy. I loved the fact that they keep the customers tanning supplies behind the counter for convenience. What pissed me off is they throw your items away in three months, even if you have open credit, with no notification. I went in and they didn't have my supplies: expensive tanning lotion, eye covers, head towel, teeth whitener and trays, my velvet bag. It was all trashed. They never even called me. The receptionist said they throw out customer items if they haven't seen them within three months. She said they don't even contact the customers to let them know their stuff is being thrown out. read more

They have great beds, it's very clean and the staff is very not knowledgeable. Shelly is by far is the best spray tanner I've ever gone to. Three of my girlfriends and i just got sprayed by Shelly for a wedding and we all looked amazing!!! Shelly was able to do amazing blending and even my hands and feet looked great! As i said before... I too, have been coming here for years. Even with the new management the same cleanliness, super customer friendly staff, easy of making appointments remains. If you need a great spray tan, no need for the ultra-expensive customized versions. I've done both and their new machine is of equal quality without the hassle and cost of a private spray session. In addition, I've been going to Connie, the masseuse for years (as has my neighbor). She is incredible. I work with a computer, work out, and need frequent massages. The room is quiet, and the massage is terrific! I have been going to Tans Plus for a couple of years, I get a spray tan from Shelly. My tan has always been consistent in color and Shelly does a great job of making sure there are no missed spots. She makes me feel comfortable and always is attentive even when it is busy and she is trying to do it all. I would recommend Tans Plus if you ever want to try a spray tan.
