The food here is amazing!!! Only great things to say about that. The service on the other hand is lacking. Made a reservation for a large party too close to trivia time, so restaurant changed the time. Unfortunately not all our party could make the new earlier time and the stragglers were def not feeling welcome. One server for 20+ people, did not know simple menu questions or what hot teas were available, some diners had to call server over to place their orders and the 3 stragglers were left to fend for themselves. Server said she was new so she didn't know everything. When I spoke to the manager (Brittany) I told her perhaps putting a new server on a large party alone might not be the best idea. She proceeded to tell me the server was not that new and has been in the industry a long time, which only made the whole experience worse. Brittany then proceeded to tell me that it was the fault of the diners because some went to the bar and we didn't all sit down immediately together. I can't speak to that part as I was one of the stragglers. Anyhoo... Brittany was very brusque, and as a chef/server/party manager for over 20 years I get that the customer isn't always right, but DON'T talk down to them and don't be OK with them walking out the door without ordering. Went to Tap and Burger Westminster for the first time yesterday, and we will definitely return! OMG! The service was outstanding! We were seated immediately and our drink order was taken within two minutes! BTW, we loved the Italian-leaning red blend, whose name I cannot recall. We both had the Tap Burger and agreed it is the best burger in Adams County! The beef was top quality, seasoned and cooked perfectly! And the French onion aioli! I wanted a bowl of that stuff! The hand cut fries were great-- thin and crispy as all fries should be. Food is ok. Service was near non existent. Ambiance is a mix of load music and background noise. Mandatory 20% tip regardless of service level. Long wait (near 30min) for one burger and nachos. Okay so, the food is food. The service is usually pretty good too, but go on a Friday night and you will regret it. It's karaoke night... but the host is truly obnoxious and nobody wants to sing anyway. On our last visit, the karaoke host turned up the volume to an uncomfortably loud level. We literally had to get up and change seats because we couldn't hear ourselves think. We asked several times if they could turn down the volume, and the host refused despite pleas from the servers. We saw two tables get up and leave, one before even being served. The karaoke host screams into the microphone and thinks he's quite the singer, so he turns up his own performances (maybe he's hard of hearing?) and it's purely unpleasant. We love Tap and Burger, but you'd think they'd want their boomer-hosted events to draw people in -- not usher them away. TL;dr: this place is great. Stay away from their hosted special events. I have been frequenting T&B in Westminster for some time as it is my go to spot before seeing a movie at the Alamo. I have to say that this place has done nothing but get better and better with It's quality and service over the years. There is a newer bartender, Kayla, that is absolutely phenomenal! Coming from a past of working in, managing and owning restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.... I would have had this young lady running the "front of house" in a heartbeat! "I LOVE" Tap & Burger Westminster. My son and I went there Yesterday. (Sunday). Sergio was our waiter and he was a great fresh, friendly and very good at his job! Thank you, Sergio. From the moment we walked in, we were shown what amazing customer service can be and should be. Staff so great! We went for a sunday afternoon lunch with my son and my granddaughter. She had the huge burger with all kinds of good stuff on it. My son got hot wings. Both were fantastic! The spirits were in huge variety. Complaints??? None. Wish List??? Once was enough for me. I know that we had a large party and I get it that some times large parties are not worth the amount of work for it. But I've been in large groups before and have had amazing service. Tonight wasn't even close to amazing service. Not even enough to be considered meh. Started out where the server took forever to get the drinks outs which they were very quick to grab our order but then nothing for at least 20-30 mins. Then finally one of the members in the group actually had to go and ask for the server to come take our orders. Which still took time. When orders were finally given the food came out about expected. My order not a fan of nor was the entree that great. The onion rings I have to admit were amazing. Best I've had in a long time everything else meh. Never asked once if I wanted a refill on my drink nor others around. It was getting very tiresome to have to go ask someone to send our server over multiple times. By the time we were ready to leave everyone had had it and it took another 20 mins to just get our checks. I do understand splitting up checks in a large group sucks and should also expect it when you see multiple families in a large group. Even after telling the server exactly what was ordered still for most of the checks wrong and I ended up with others on my check which at that point you have to thank the heavens for Venmo. Never again and I would give the Siskel and Egbert two thumbs way down. Food is meh and service is bleh. Would have rather grabbed fast food if it wasn't for the great company of the group. This is my first time in the restaurant after searching the area for delicious looking food and drinks after shopping. This place had great photos and food looked great. When we got there, we were greeted immediately by our awesome server Sean H at the door. He was awesome at showcasing the specials and the menu. The burger selection is very limited for a place called "Tap & Burger". The burgers are over cooked and you can't order anything other than medium. But the one thing that will prevent me from coming back is an automatic 20% service charge regardless of how good or bad the service is. Tipping is NOT mandatory in the United States. The service was friendly enough and when we sat down, they warned us that they add 20% tip to every bill, no matter the party-size, automatically. Errrr... ok. That's a normal tip if it was great. It wasn't great. It's a reflection on the food, rather than the server (who was actually pretty responsive). I ordered a patty melt with a simple salad. I swear they added salt to my salad. Blech! It was really not very refreshing and left my mouth parched. The patty melt was also overly-salted, and I think they might have used cheese spread instead of cheese. Maybe it was just really melted (and over-salted) American cheese? Nah! It was probably cheese spread. I would've given a one-star for the terrible overly-salted food, but added a star for the server. I won't recommend it unless if you like salty food. read more
