Strolled around town until we found Jonathan's and took a seat at the full service bar. Ordered the prosciutto+grilled peach+burrata appetizer. The burrata is absolutely a 10/10. Texture was perfect. My husband enjoyed the eggplant Parmesan, and the flavors were delightful - quite savory. We shared the risotto. A very rich and decadent dish. Scallops were perfect - not too oily or underdone. The flavors were on point. The Cinn City whiskey drink was so tasty, I ordered two. We finished with a flourless chocolate cake which was delicious. This spot seems to be a local favorite. read more

We have been coming to Jonathan's since it opened, and it's still #1 for us! They have continued to evolve in creative ways, which keeps it fun to keep coming back. We started dinner with their Tardiva salad- shredded fennel, radicchio, pomegranate, walnuts and gorgonzola cheese- and It was beautiful, creative and delicious! I called ahead of time to see if they had a table and see if It was even possible to get a table on New Year's Eve. I was told I could sit at the bar till a table opened up. So we went in and the system was down so again was told there was a couple ahead of us we could sit at the bar. We stood there waiting till the bartender came over and asked if we wanted a drink while waiting so we went to sit at the bar because one seat opened I stood for 20 minutes till a person left and finally sat with my wife. We sat there about 40 minutes till I saw the couple before us got a table so I went to talk to the manger to see what was going on. He was overwhelmed and told me dismissively my table was at the bar and I was to eat there. At that point I was annoyed and was just gonna leave. He then said if I wanted a table he would have to check he came back and said in no way could I get a table at this point in time. Upon leaving I noted that you should be more clear next time dealing with your customers. He then told me really nasty and condescending that no he should have explained to me in a better manner for me to understand and so that I can hear him correctly next time. It was so unprofessional. All he had to say is I'm sorry for the mix up and would have been understandable because things happen but I specifically told him table 2 time on the phone and 2 times at the concierge booth to be clear and he was so frazzled so I guess he did what he wanted anyway. Then as I'm walking out he's saying have a great new year loud for all to hear being a wise jerk so I went back told him I will be leaving this review to where he said who gives a shit nobody will believe you anyway and kept saying way to start your new year like I was in the wrong. He should be ashamed of handling a mistake in that fashion. I'm in no way saying the place was bad but having this man as your representation is in no way the smartest move for customers to want to ever return again. He ruined our good vibe . Until we went to a real restaurant (besito) with an amazing manager who squeezed us in to give us an amazing rest of the night. I visited Jonathan's Ristorante with a party of 5 the sunday after Thanksgiving and had such a great time. The place is lovely and cozy inside. We started with the Burrata e Speck and that was the most delicious appetizer. The flavor was perfect. We also had the Prosciutto di Parma appetizier special which was fine. For dinner, 3 of us ordered the Halibut special recommended by our waiter Marlon. After taking our order, he returned to tell us that there were only 2 left. To make up for it, he brought me an extra glass of Pinot Grigio. What incredible service! Marlon was the absolute best throughout the entire experience. Not only was his service 10/10, but his personality was awesome as well. He created such a warm and inviting dining experience. I decided to go with the Cavatelli all' Aragosta instead of the Halibut and it was delicious. The dish was full of lobster meat, rather than just a few pieces sprinkled on top. Every single bit had plenty of lobster. My boyfriend had the double cut pork chop which may have been the most delicious pork i've ever tried. After our meal, Marlon brought us some complimentary palate cleansing sorbet, and that just topped the evening off beautifully. What a great experience. This was my first time here and from top to bottom, it was a great dining experience. I had the Spaghetti Bolognese and Caesar salad. The sauce was thick and beefy. The salad had generous shards of cheese. Both were excellent and I would order again. My friend had the squash ravioli, which she also said was absolutely delicious. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly, gave recommendations, checked in frequently and seemed genuinely happy to serve us. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome. I feel bad I didn't get her name. For dessert, we had the gelato trio... Vanilla, chocolate, hazelnut. It was excellent gelato. Just a smidgen of ice in one of the scoops but I can forgive them for that. I would absolutely come back to Jonathan's. Nice ambience and parking is available outback. The wife and I have always enjoyed dinner at a place with great food, great service, parking and CLASS. Such is the case with Jonathan 's in Huntington, New York. Friends and family have been talking up this place to me for years. Why I never listened earlier, I'll never know. We dined at Jonathan's last weekend with family. There were four of us. Jonathan's is a classic Italian throwback restaurant in the best possible way. The restaurant is nice and clean and the entire staff are on their game. Sophia, our waitress, was very knowledgeable about the menu and was prepared to answer any questions we might have had. She made some suggestions that we took her up on. For our salad we shared the Caesar salad. Fresh and delicious. I ordered the shrimp appetizer which was grilled shrimp atop this delicious polenta with candied orange strips. On a scale of 1-10 this was an 11. The wife and her cousin had the ravioli with truffle. My other cousin had the Cacio e Pepe with truffles. Myself, I had the roasted chicken with roasted potatoes. The sauce in my chicken was just devine with just the right amount of richness and just enough acid to cut through it nicely afterwards. For dessert I had the Panna cotta with berries. Just creamy and perfect. My cousin had the chocolate cake with chocolate ice cream. He did not share. The ladies shared a tiramisu cake and then complained about not having ordered their own. LOL. Came on a Saturday night and this place was busy but I can understand why! Food and drinks were great, ambiance was too and staff were friendly. Restaurant is in the village and didn't have a parking lot but super close to the main parking. We had the burrata then I had the linguini with tiger shrimp the waitress recommended it had a bit of a spicy kick for me made it amazing! My husband had the pork chop and was a favorite which was also yummy and had champagne to pair with it which took awhile to come, actually. Finished off with a delicious flourless chocolate cake. Only thing is felt like they kept coming around to take plates which is good but felt rushed but then again it was Saturday night. read more

Jonathan's is a good Italian restaurant. They have great service and drinks. The food is hit or miss. When I've tried new things I've been disappointed so I typically stick with my favorite dish which is the linguine nere con gamberi (black linguine with tiger shrimp and spicy tomato sauce). This is a fantastic dish loaded with shrimp and spice. I do have to say their prices are a bit high for what they offer. The linguine pasta I mentioned is $33. Their porkchop is $46 which is typically what restaurants charge for veal, not pork. Overall, I'd recommend giving Jonathan's a try. The service is great, generous drinks, and some good items on the menu. read more

I discovered this gem last evening, on my 70th birthday, after a long dusk hike at nearby Target Rock National Wildlife Refuge ..... alone, tired, and needing a real sanctuary ( friends had gathered wit me the previous Saturday ) ........ Jonathan's met all my needs abundantly ! The young servers are what impressed me the most : Angel and Gabriella, genuine angels, treated my as if finding their long lost uncle ..... one could not hope for more gentle, considerate and genuinely caring company .......... Now, the details : 1) Jonathan's seating is comfortably spaced, with padded , back friendly chairs 2) Lighting is soft but perfect for reading . 3) My Pollo Albicocca e Pancetta ( chicken with apricot sauce ) was cooked to perfection and a delicious change of pace . 4) The vanilla bean dessert was something between between flan and gelato ( I've forgotten the name !) and deliciously served with a wealth of berries ; you will not be disappointed by the wealth of unique choices 5) The lavatory was well designed and immaculate ........... This really being a perfect time of year for nature walks, with Great Horned Owls breeding nearby, it's a comfort to have discovered this welcoming retreat . What more can I say ? Went for dinner last night at Jonathans Ristorante since we've been on a mission to try every restaurant in Huntington, and needless to say it's taken us over a year and we still aren't done, but tonight was Jonathans. A very nice restaurant for decor, interior is clean, upscale, classy, elegant, a nice place for a fine dinner. The service was attentive and friendly, made sure everything was good on our end, we had a runner and a server which seemed personal and very nice to have. The manager, Alex, came over to check on us see how things were going, and good to make a little conversation. It seems everyone enjoys working here and it's a good work environment. Now for the food and drinks, it's unfortunate because everything was solid up until now. The bartender made 4 drinks in total for us, 2 of them out of 4 were decent/alright, the other 2 were pretty bad, so he went 2/4, not that great. The appetizer for Mozzarella and Prosciutto also wasn't special at all, not too great. I had the Salmon with Balsamic Glaze and she had the Spaghetti with Scallops. Both were underwhelming and average, the kitchen needs work, and we probably wouldn't pick this spot for our choice of place to go. Our top 3 Italian spots so far are Il Posto Di Joey, Red, and Restaurant Joanina/ Tied with Osteria Di Nono. Jonathans needs work and step it up to compete in the insanely restaurant populated Huntington to rise above the rest. I'm rooting for them, but they are not there yet. Wow! Went here with friends who live nearby and had a wide variety of dishes and each one was spectacular! The Pork Chop is off the chart; tender, juicy and packed with flavor. The mushroom ravioli was equally scrumptious but the artichoke appetizer was enchantingly delicious with citrusy profile and perfectly prepared, and my personal favorite. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 4.5 STARS On Wednesday, July 8th, I hosted a dinner for six at Jonathan's Ristorante, a restaurant that has been serving great Italian food in Huntington for a long time.IMHO, the great feature of this restaurant is its creative menu which emphasizes seasonality and a more elegant type of Italian cuisine. One of the very few advantages of the COVID-19 era is that it is now easy to find a parking space in the Gerard Avenue lot. Take advantage of that as I did. The restaurant was kind enough to give my group a completely spatially distant table near the window. Much appreciated. I started my feast with Arancini, miniature Rice Balls greatly enhanced by a white Truffle Sauce. Yum!! They were perfectly seasoned, crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. The Truffle Sauce was so good that the beautiful kleptomaniac to my left pilfered it to dress her salad. Although this is an Italian restaurant, my fellow diners waxed poetically about the many virtues of the Burger here. So I tried it. The Burger was HUGE! Unfortunately, it arrived rare as opposed to my requested medium (I NEVER send anything back). Nevertheless, the Burger was well seasoned, very fresh and I enjoyed it. The accompanying French Fries were excellent. At a reasonable $19.00, it was a good deal. The restaurant earned additional rating points based upon how much my fellow diners enjoyed it. The kitchen got dishes out quickly. Service was pleasant and polite. My fellow diners raved about the Octopus, the Prosciutto di Parma,the Arugula Salad, the Penne/Gnocchi Bolognese and the Black Pasta with Tiger Shrimp. Desserts, with the lone exception of Sorbet, were excellent, including the Tiramisu and the luscious Gelato Trio I ordered. We all left very satisfied and eager to return. BOTTOM LINE: Jonathan's Ristorante made a strong case for being the best Italian restaurant in the Huntington village. Check it out. read more

Very nice place- ordered the scallop appetizer, which was only three or four scallops but very tasty. Also tried the raw tuna appetizer, which was equally as tasty and a larger portion. I had the black linguini with shrimps (5 or 6) and tomato sauce, and it was very flavorful. Others at my table ordered the steak which was cooked perfectly, and a decent portion, with dipping sauces on the side. The duck dish was also ordered, served with eight not overly sweet, confit / brown sauce which was tasty as well. Great food but really really loud environment. The table next to ours knew the owner and maybe that or the alcohol was the excuse for them to speak and laugh at the top of their lungs all night. I am young with great hearing but had to lean to within a foot of my dining partner to hear them. We were there last more than a year ago and it was the same thing. You might say not restaurants fault. I say otherwise . Really narrow room and they have nothing to absorb the noise and tables are pretty close. Maybe the owners hard of hearing from the noise. Again, food was great, but noise really spoiled the experience. I don't want to have to shout over dinner. Sorry but I don't think we will be back. read more

Best meal in Huntington!! Reservations are highly encouraged as they are really busy- they might require them right now with covid. We sat at a high top table which were tables with high seats so not the bar which was great. I ordered the lamb chops and my fiancé ordered a lobster dish (I didn't even try his because mine was amazing). I never finish my food but this was perfect! So delicious and juicy, not dry at all. Sundays is happy hour $3.00 OFF cocktails, wine and beer from 5pm to 8pm. Also some happy hour appetizers as well. Dinners are decent. The service is great and the restaurant is clean. Parking, well you know Huntington village. Can be difficult. The wines are great both by the glass and by the bottle. Also 30 percent off bottles of wine on sundays on bottles $60 or more. Loved my experience here! Came here last Friday for dinner with a friend. We had already gotten apps elsewhere and were not crazy with their dinner menu so we stumbled upon Jonathans and I am so glad we did. My friend and I walked in and were greeted right away. We were seated at a great table outdoors right away. We started off with the arugula salad which was so fresh. I loved the parmigiana! We also ordered seltzers, which were refreshing. We started with their arugula and tomato salads, one with goat cheese and the other with parmigiano cheese. Both salads were delicious and SO FRESH. Cute spot in Huntington village! Not as "trendy" as some of the other restaurants, and as a 20-something I felt a bit out of place in the older crowd here (didn't really think about it before arriving!) but the food was delicious; it didn't really matter at all.
