Where to start? Dirty. Owner was obnoxious and loud. Swearing and talking about inappropriate things. Cooks were not wearing masks or gloves. Bar top was so full of crap I thought they were moving. Cook came out from the kitchen for a band aid after I watched him put my toast on a plate (without gloves). I got a close up view of his filthy fingernails. Waitresses vaping near the food window. This was my first time eating anywhere in Morison's downtown strip. My boyfriend and I are pizza lovers, and we were excited to try Tap on the Rock's pizza. We ordered the pizza with pineapple and jalapeño (bear creek I think?) and buffalo cauliflower bites. Totally disappointing. Cauliflower was soggy, the celery that came with it was hot, which I've never experienced at a restaurant before. The pizza tasted like it came out of a microwave. :( Definitely will go elsewhere next time I'm in the neighborhood. read more

I visited Tap On The Rocks prior to a Red Rocks show for the convenience of location and seemingly quick-to-make menu items. The one positive of this place is location--beyond that, I wouldn't recommend dining here. I ordered a simple pepperoni pizza to-go and waiting 45 minutes, despite there being 4 tables seated in the entire restaurant. I watched staff stare at the phones and ignore plates coming to the window to be served. While waiting I had plenty of time to look around and noticed the vents, shelves, and pizza oven covered in a 1 inch layer of dust. Soon I noticed large chunks occasionally floating through the air. The floor tiles leading into the kitchen were caked with old food and the stainless steel surfaces covered in splashes and grease. Again, staff stood around and didn't lift a finger to tidy up the clearly filthy food prep area. I finally received my pizza after the box sat in the window for nearly 5 minutes. It would be challenging to mess up a pepperoni pizza--But this place came about as close as it gets. The crust was floppy and undercooked in the center while the outside was charred black and covered in burnt cornmeal. I will never be back. read more

Definitely disappointed. Everything was dripping with oil. The menu looked like it had healthy options, but they managed to put butter and oil on all of it. They must've forgot to put our food ticket in because over 40 minutes later no food and larger groups have gotten their food and even left the restaurant before we got ours. Horrible service. We had the chicken pesto sandwich and found it to be so salty that I couldn't eat it. When I complained to the server (something I don't usually do), they said they would talk to the kitchen staff. He didn't apologize, offer to get me something else or even discount the meal. The fries were good though. read more

Please, please don't go here. The people were nice but after that, it was a complete train wreck. I really don't like leaving bad reviews but the cold wings, delivering the food to the wrong table then trying to serve it to us after it had been poked by strangers, or the "we don't have pizza because the city said the oven isn't safe..." there is a long list of red flags... it's just not worth the risk. Our server didnt ask how our meal was and just brought the check without asking if we needed anything else. Many of the servers were wearing crop tops exposing their stomach and butt crack. This friendly breakfast and wood-fired pizza place was known previously as "TNT Country Kitchen" and was a breakfast and lunch establishment. A change to the family ownership structure (same owners for 24 years) allowed transformation to a full service restaurant. Manager Blake, who's been there more than a decade, is super friendly. Service is attentive. Plenty of parking. Pizzas are creative and big enough for two but after my first encounter with the "5-O" pie's perfect crust and sublime balance of spices and toppings the next pie will be just for me! There are the usual assortment of apps and support munchies like wings. Despite the 16 taps taking center stage the wine list and spirits are not overlooked. This is a new addition to the downtown Morrison dining scene that previously lacked a place with serious pizza. There's lots of covered outdoor seating right next to babbling Bear Creek. Worth a drive from anywhere west of downtown and a great place for dinner on the way to a Red Rocks event. read more

Not a bad place, but I think there was only one waitress for the whole restaurant so that can make a difference. I had the herbivore scramble and my husband had the biscuits and gravy. I really liked mine; eggs were fluffy and all the veggies were really yummy. The biscuits and gravy, however..... the gravy had a weird chemical-like flavor to it that was real hard to ignore. I'm not surrogate that was about but I've ever tasted that before. I'm not sure I'd come back, definitely not for the gravy. read more

This place could use some help. When we walked in we were greeted by someone who was wearing pajamas bottoms and told us to sit wherever we wanted even though the sign stated please wait to be seated. As we walked to the table we noticed at least 3 tables near us that have not been cleared yet. The floor was sticky and there was crumbs and trash all over it. This place is also abnormally cold. We asked the staff if they could turn the air down but they never did. The outside area looked dingy and wet. We waited awhile for the server to come out and while we were waiting we could hear some workers arguing about tips. After we finally got our order taken we noticed at least 5 dead flies on the windowsill next to where we were eating. Absolutely gross. Our food came out and the wings were undercooked, pizza undercooked and the pretzels were hard on the outside and the cheese served with it looked like it had been sitting for awhile. It makes me worried as to what the state of the kitchen looks like. We asked for our check and it took a long time sitting in the cold. This place is a gem in the rough... they're getting everything figured out. The pizza oven wasn't working when I went but that was ok because I don't really eat pizza anyways (unless I've drank too much and just don't care which never happens - I'm super in shape) and I get my carbs from veggies and fruits so this wasn't a problem for me.., the staff was great and they recommend some amazing wine (I'm a wine snob btw) and I got a salad which was delicious. I would really only suggest eating here only if it is an absolute MUST. Otherwise just eat somewhere else. Or don't eat at all. It's really not worth it. Tried their brunch... really mediocre. Saw they have a brick oven for pizza. I was excited. Wanted to give them another try. Somehow, it was even worse. That being said, I haven't had anything to drink here so maybe they have a great beer/liquor selection seeing as they are the 'Tap on the Rocks' but I won't hold my breath. My husband and I ate dinner here tonight in their large and shaded outdoor space which was so nice after a long bike ride. Right next to the creek and the trees so it's location is perfect. Large parking area perfect. Chase and his staff are genuinely nice people who have been in Morrison for years and care a lot about the quality of the food. And speaking of food, we had the Boulder Pizza which was hands down some of the best we have had in the surrounding area of Morrison, Evergreen and Golden. For me, I judge pizza by the crust and they only use a wood fired oven, no gas so they nailed the crust and the chewiness of the crust. They are not huge pizzas but priced right so you can get two if you want leftovers. Also had the cauliflower with mango habanero sauce and it was killer spicy. But they have other options for preparation so you're covered no matter what. All of that with a couple of beers, I give an eager 5 stars and I'm super excited to come back! Stopped in on a Tuesday evening, @530 - excited to try the pizza and get some drinks (long day=drinks). They had 4 tables sat (7 people), not including our party of 2. We didn't get greeted at the door but at the bar; where we walked to (also where all the employees were located) & was instructed to seat ourselves. 15 minutes later and after multiple passes by multiple employees; we had received no love. Came here during COVID. The food is little to oily. The salads are mediocre and the pizza is good. It's a fair price and it's all ok.
