I will preface this review that the 5 stars are not because it's the best Chinese food I've ever had. This is typical takeout Chinese. But for the Celina area, we have tried them all and this one is a clear winner. If you are looking for good crab Rangoon, this place has the best out of all the local Celina places. We dined here one evening since we saw they had tofu & vegetable entrees since we're not eating meat right now. We got the Spicy Garlic Vegetables, Spicy Hunan or Szechuan Vegetables, and Vegetable Lo Mein between the four of us to share. All of it was very good. We also had the avocado roll w/brown rice and eggs rolls. All of the food was good. We will definitely go back. This is closest best Chinese food to us and I am. It gonna complain! Way better than the Chinese restaurant around here. I hope you read it? I said Chinese even though they sell Japanese. I cannot say anything about their Japanese food because I have not tried it, so can't write about it. I have attached pictures of what we ordered and pretty satisfied with it. Though we ordered soup, I do not attach a picture. The soup is good for the price, large egg drop soup for $3.95 is a very good price. Beef with broccoli is good and fresh. The Mooshoo chicken is delicious and the tortilla is perfect. The honey walnut shrimp is great with large shrimps. Also came with steam rice bad fried rice which is worth it for free. read more

My Moo Shu Chicken was really good. My niece got teriyaki chicken she said was just okay. Chicken was kind of chewy. Delivery took about 1.5 hours on a Saturday night. So order ahead of time if hungry! They also forgot to give us one of our sides of rice and it came with no condiments... read more

The food was good:) I liked the orange chicken, just enough spice and lots of flavor, not too much breading thankfully. The crab Rangoon was delightful and my hubs loves some of the spicier dishes! We both prefer white meat, so it's great they have this instead of mixed portions only. read more

Ordered our first weekend in Prosper! We ordered chicken lo mein, fried dumplings and chicken fried rice. Dumplings were ok, a little over cooked. The lo mein was the best part of the order. The chicken was tender and flavorful, although a little oily. The worst part was the chicken fried rice, we did order around 5 p.m. on a Sunday, so maybe this is why the food was not great. The fried rice was ok it was the chicken that was the problem. In contrast to the lo mein chicken the fried rice chicken was flat, rubbery and flavorless. It was tough to eat and every time you had a bite you really worked to avoid the chicken. I do think we might give them another try but it will be a while. read more

I am a Realtor and so that means that I eat out a LOT when traveling around. Tapan Wok is very good! I had the chicken and rice and one could tell all the food was of very good quality and the chicken was white meat breast meat. Way too many times restaurants use cheaper pieces of chicken as a "filler" and that was not the case here. Everything was freshly made and delicious. My daughter also had similar things to say about her food and she is notoriously picky! Take my advise and go there for good food at a neighborhood restaurant. The "BEST" Chinese food ever!!! in Prosper. We love the chicken lomien, egg foo young, walnut shrimp ,orange chicken and the hot and sour soup is amazing!!! Our daughter eat there or sometime order to go 2 or 3 times a week. The oil is always new oil we never taste the smell old oil whenever we eat in this place. Shrimps crunchy and fresh! We've been trying to find an Asian restaurant since moving here for California, it's hard. We've been driving out to Richardson to get good Asia quality. So it was worth a try. It's a nice place...food was decent.. like your fancy Panda Express. The only thing I can really say is the food portion is generous, which is nice and the staff was nice. The bottom line, unfortunately it's not going to be my go to place. It will be a place where I can go if I'm really really really trying to fulfill a craving. read more

We were so excited to have a Chinese/Japanese place near us. Well that was short lived. We tried delivery not once but twice trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. Will not eat there again. No flavor with any of the food. We asked for ours to be spicy (also noted as spicy on their menu) no spice or flavor at all. We had the Mongolian Beef once and the next time we tried chicken lo mien. We couldn't finish the main meals due to lack of taste and the lo menu we could only do one bite it was that bad. Don't get the fried rice with meals it is just white rice with soy sauce on it nothing else. The egg rolls were decent though and so were the crab Rangoon. That is the only reason this is getting 2 stars from me because the appetizers were good. read more

Tapan was recommended to us and we decided to go last night. Best Hibachi we have ever had! The combination A (chicken breast, steak, and shrimp) for two had the perfect amount of everything. I have gone inside to dine and ordered for delivery. Dining in was good. The crab raggoon was ok, not really my thing. The sushi and sashimi bento lunch is fabulous. I would order that again. We have ordered take out from here over the last year, and it was acceptable. But tonight it was strangely very low quality and not up to par. We ordered several things that were "fried ". The oil must have been rancid. the wontons for the wonton soup were off taste and inedible. The crab wonton had the same off taste. My husband liked his fried rice ok. But again, we also had veggie tempura that had the taste of rancid oil. Inedible. . I would never typically notice stuff like this, but it was quite prevalent, and so profound that I couldn't eat it. Honestly... Some of the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Being new to the area my family has been trying several Chinese restaurants to find our favorite for Take out. This place is not it. If I were to sum it up in a single word it would be "Tasteless". We ordered multiple dishes and they all pretty much tasted the same. The chicken is pre bought and out of a bag. The sauces are absolutely tasteless. Even the rice was substandard. Hands down the WORST Hot and Sour soup i have ever had. This place was awesome! We've been there 2 times and both times the service and food were great! The people are friendly and accommodating. This place was recommended by a friend that said their food was excellent. I don't know if we hit it on an off day, but the food was absolutely disgusting. I mean completely inedible... I ordered Moo Goo Gai Pan. It was full of this weird salty slime that the rubber chicken & limp vegetables were swimming in. My husband had ordered the Mu Shu Chicken & he literally had to spit the chicken out into his napkin, he couldn't even swallow it. My son had the Sweet & Sour Chicken & since fried, it was ok. This area is in dire need of restaurants, so we were hopeful this would be a good option. We were not impressed. The food was served cold and the sushi made me sick. The waitstaff did not know the menu and the atmosphere was pretty bad. They didn't have music playing but had two different TVs on. One had on a program about meth addiction and the other was on wolves hunting. Both of which were bad for our 21 month old to watch. We won't be going back, unfortunately. Worst Chinese food ever. No flavor in anything except the orange chicken and it only has flavor because they smother the chicken in the orange sauce. We ordered the Happy Family, Orange Chicken, Egg Roll, Lo Mein Noodles & Fried Potstickers. Like I said before, no flavor. The happy family is a mixture of beef, chicken, shrimp, crab meat and a wide range of vegetables covered in a brown sauce. All of that mixed together sounds great but as you bite into it there's nothing. Just the textures of the food but no taste. The Lo Mein Noodles looked like the normal menu item and I even ordered it with a little spice but for some reason it is void of any kind of flavor, just a pile of noodles with some bland chicken and bland noodles. The fried potstickers were the one thing that I thought they couldn't screw up but somehow they sucked the flavor right out of them. Bland and rubbery. I was hoping since they were fried they would at least be crispy but nope, I got the rubbery version. Maybe that's their special skill, take something that could taste really great and drain all of the flavor out of it right before they give it to the customer. Went for lunch.... it was ok. Fried dumplings a bit greasy. I think there was a communication misunderstanding I had ordered mixed vegetables with fried rice. Waitress asked me if chicken was ok... for some reason I though she meant for the fried dumplings so I said yes(my bad). Unfortunately had i realized it was for entree I would have asked for beef, I only like chicken breast in my Chinese entrees. At that it was ok nothing to write home about.
