This is such a unique and authentic spot. The jasmine milk tea is pretty much perfect and their size large is huge. It's a great value for what you pay and in this economy, who doesn't love that? They do have a 50 cent charge to use your card but the employees are sure to tell you before you pay and they also have a sign up so I just pay cash when I'm here. I would rather cash go towards a tip for them than to the credit card companies. There is a lounge type area inside with seating and although there haven't been a lot of people when I've stopped in, you could definitely chill here for a bit if you wanted to read or chat up a friend while you enjoy your drink. They do offer food as well but I am always in a hurry so I haven't sampled that yet but I hope to soon and I will definitely keep stopping in for tea when I am in the area and thirsty.

I came to this Tapioca & Tea place in the beginning of the 2026 year, as I happened to be at this plaza. It's nice to visit a non-chain establishment. As of January of 2026, their price for a small milk tea is $4.75, and their boba add-on is 50 cents more. I upgraded my beverage to a Large, which was $1.50 more. It's a decent size, as their Large size is bigger than your typical boba tea places. I also got a Chocolate Milk Tea, which is an option that isn't available at too many chain locations. I also got their popcorn chicken. Unfortunately, it's not as good as other chain locations, when you compare to UME Tea or Purple Kow. Their popcorn chicken comes with no spice, mild, medium or hot. Even though I got mild, it was hotter than your typical mild flavored popcorn chicken at other boba tea restaurants. As for their interior, it's very spacious there with plenty of seating available, including a large sofa. They also have board & table games that you can play too. I really liked their Chocolate Milk Tea, and I can see myself ordering this again or trying out their other beverages. As for the popcorn chicken, I will pass on this next time, but would be interested in trying out their other food items on their menu.

It's been a long time since I've been here. I love coming here for their snacks, especially the calamari. For the calamari, they use dry squid and batter it in a very airy batter. For someone who likes texture, this is perfect for me. I got a medium and it was pretty spicy. Their pandan waffle is also great, great flavor and chewy, but it is in the softer side and not crispy. Service was very quick and friendly. They have a lot of tables, and the sound is on the low side so it's a perfect place to come study.

This boba spot has been here way before all the newer aimed "aesthetic pleasure" shops came to life. This place is simple, straight to the point but serves the good stuff. They have kept the price down without compromising quality. They have a great drink menu and offers hot snacks - i always make sure I have their scallops and popcorn chicken. I had their Snow Taro and they daughter had a milk tea - everything was satisfying. I like this place and I hope it continues to thrive. Place is clean with friendly staff. Parking can be difficult if you want to park close but the target shopping area is near by that offers more space. Sorry for the lack of photos. My daughter went straight to the couch after we ordered and got comfortable while we enjoyed our goodies. YES...this place has a couch --- and L shape hahahaha Come support!

We came to Elk Grove for a date night and we had an hour to kill before our movie so came to tapioca and tea. We ordered two milk teas and order of cream cheese wontons and calamari medium spice. The teas came out fairly quickly and were very tasty mine was a bit sweeter than I like but that was ok cause the egg pudding was heavenly. Unfortunately this is where the good stops. It took over thirty minutes to get our food items. I honestly think they forgot as a rush came in shortly after we ordered but when we got our items they were way over cooked. The calamari was so overcooked it was like rubber and the wontons tasted burnt. We didn't realize this till after we left as we had to hurry to make our movie, I'd go back for the tea but likely not order and food items again.

Wonderful wide selection of drinks and finger foods and snacks to enjoy. Great value for their price, and they offer a stamp card rewards program. The staff are kind, friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable about everything they offer with great offerings and suggestions. I enjoy my time here and I look forward to stopping by and trying something new! Shoutout to the entire team for being so kind and welcoming. The young gentleman helping me out and being patient with me was incredibly kind, I wish I grabbed his name, but shoutout to him for making my first time experience enjoyable and desiring to come back! Interior is suitable for study groups or table top games or just wanting to read or work or chitchat. They even have a little library available and shelf of games available.

Positive Review A week ago, (nye rush), the shop got slammed between 3-5 pm. I was unfortunate enough to be part of that rush. Waited close an hour. They remade the food, and mentioned a free identical order on the house for the troubles. Well, week later, surprised as I am, they actually had my order taped to the front counter waiting to honor it (its $20 worth of food!) Always need to throw a shoutout to a business with integrity - this place been around since early 2000's for a

Our fave go to place to grab an avocado snow! Their snacks are always really good too. We love getting the calamari and popcorn shrimp, spice or no spice it always hits. We also recently ordered the fried tofu and that was good too! Glad this place still exists.

Nostalgia, consistency, and the Popcorn Chicken is why this place is 5 stars in my book. Called Tapioca Express back in the day, I'm surprised they survived the pandemic and all those competitive Instagram-decorated new boba shops. This place has no frills. Just basic boba tea drinks and traditional toppings, which works well for folks who don't care for all the fancy toppings and sugary bases. I like their pure Jasmine Tea, which is brewed so strongly, you can taste the bitterness of the tea. The snacks are why I come here though. They have the original chili, salt & pepper mixed flavoring that only boba tea shops seem to have for their popcorn chicken, calamari, and other fried goodies. Over the years, the new fancier tea shops have deviated from this seasoning and offered basil with their popcorn chicken, yet the flavors were so bland! Tapioca & Tea stayed consistent. Their popcorn chicken and calamari still taste exactly like it did 10 years ago. Piping hot, crispy outside, juicy inside, and spiiiicy! There are a few tables outside and they will actually bring you your order. That's nice to know there are places that employees care enough to come out from behind their posts to bring you items. Great customer service!

Popcorn chicken + Taro/Coconut (medium, no toppings) = $15.05 You can definitely chill a bit here to catch up with friends. There's a table big enough for 8 and a sectional couch to lounge on. I think the interior needs some color since it's a boba location. It's all brown and tan inside. The order was made quickly, but with your average customer service. Popcorn chicken is expensive, but I do like their fry and flavor on it compared to other boba places. The taro/coconut snow bubble was good too. We parked behind the Well Seasoned Buffet and walked across. If my husband did not show me where this place was, I probably wouldn't have found it.

This place has a great vibe with a fairly large seating area and even a comfy couch that's perfect for lounging with friends. They always greet me with a warm smile and a friendly hello, which makes it feel really welcoming. I also love the little book-sharing cabinet inside--such a nice touch. And when it comes to Italian sodas, this is the spot. They're my number one go-to every time.

I like that this place has an aesthetic feel. Very old boba shop feel. I like that's there furniture and tables. However,It kind of seems like an old building to me and it didn't seem tidy to me it kind of took away from my visitation to enjoy this place. Other than the chocolate snow bubble tasted good. If you're in the mood for some boba before you shop this place is good for that. I recommend this if you need to pickup your boba tea and shop somewhere you're in the mood for it you should go for it. Sorry this place was 2 for me. The people were friendly and attentive to their customers. The drink was good. It was kind of disappointing. Perhaps there's should be an update on this to make people feel more comfortable and welcomed. I give this 2.5 out of 5 stars for this experience

The banana flavor paired surprisingly well with the matcha and made for a really refreshing drink. It was one of those drinks that I immediately knew I'd order again. But honestly, the highlight wasn't even the drink itself. It was the adorable little elephant vessel it came with. They put dry ice inside and then pour water into it, making it look like the elephant is blowing smoke out of its trunk. My daughter was completely mesmerized. Watching her reaction was worth the visit all by itself. What I loved most was that it wasn't just a gimmick. The drink was actually good, and the elephant made such a cute keepsake afterward. It felt like getting both a treat and a souvenir. The café itself had a fun atmosphere, and it was one of those places that felt a little different from your typical coffee or tea stop. Helpful tip: If it's your first visit, order one of the drinks served in the elephant. The presentation alone is worth it, especially if you're visiting with kids. Between the banana matcha and my daughter's excitement over the smoking elephant, this ended up being one of those unexpectedly memorable stops we'll be talking about for a while.

I walk up to the counter and asked for the Mango Sticky Rice and the guy who helped me, idk what his name is had an attitude and was like we're out of it. I'm thinking to myself, sooo if you KNOW you're of something that's popular and on the menu, maybe you should put a sign somewhere stating that it's currently NOT AVAILABLE. Then I had to call back home to let my siblings know that the initial drink they wanted was not available, so they can choose something else and again the guy taking the order wad annoyed. My siblings decided upon the Mangonada with brown sugar boba and the iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha. Unfortunately, brown sugar boba was not available was all out for the day according to the cashier.. but no sign stating that they were sold out. I had to call my siblings again to let them know and ask if they wanted crystal boba as a replacement. To keep the order going while I was calling them, I asked for a mochi waffle and the guy threw his hands up annoyed and was like do you not want the boba for drink? I told the cashier I'll have the crystal boba instead of the brown sugar since it's currently unavailable, and the guy goes with an attitude... soo do you want the crystal boba? I said yess...yes I do. The Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha was alrightt. It is definitely not all that it is hyped up to be. The drink IMO was just a basic iced matcha with chocolate drizzle on the side of the cup and the pistachio foam that barely tasted like pistachio.

Parking was confusing, didn't realize it was in a church and there wasn't really obvious signage from the parking lot that you're in the right spot. I had to look at the other review pictures to be like okay, I am here. Interior is cute and modern, but lacking that lived in feel I prefer for coffee shops. Service was quick. The coffee itself seems to lean towards biblical (lol?) food items. Think olive oil, dates, tahini, honey. I got the Tahini Einspanner because how fun, I can get some tastes of tahini and date but the whip and syrup didn't mix well into the drink despite me aggressively trying so it just lasted like a $7 plain latte. I almost had to bite the whip because it was so thick. Seems like they're using quality ingredients so the intention is there, the executions needs some refinement.
