Came out to San Diego and my bestie and me decided to try out this place that was close by and had good reviews. Located in a shopping center, but is a standalone shop. Good amount of parking, but since it's in a shopping center - might get a bit packed depending on timing and day. We had no issues when we went late afternoon on a Saturday. Very clean on the inside and plenty of tables to sit at. I got two quesa tacos (asada and adobada), a carnitas taco and a corn cheese quesadilla. My friend got the carne asada fries and a corn cheese quesadilla. Their staff were very friendly and patient too. Salsa bar had a lot of good options and I could tell the salsa would be good just by the look. First... the meat. It was phenomenal!! All three tacos were delicious and not dripping oil like some taco shops will. Hot, fresh and so yummy! My bestie agreed. The carne asada fries though, didn't quite hit like I thought they would. I honestly can't quite pin what it was, because the meat was amazing... but something about it just didn't have us going back for more. Corn quesadillas were delicious too. Oh yea and the salsa was perfect and had the right amount of kick without being too crazy. Onions too! Overall, I'd give it a 4 star rating and would be a 5 if we didn't get the fries. read more

Hidden gem in Otay Ranch Town Center, great food and service! They're tucked away at the far end of the mall. The Chef, Benjamin, makes the best adobada! Cooked on a spit, slightly charred outside but tender and very juicy inside with a hint of sweetness. It literally is the best adobada! The carne asada tasted amazing and was also very juicy! You can tell it was good quality meat. The salsas were great too! One really stood out, it was a slightly chunky yellow salsa that had a pineapple flavor. It was amazing! We went on a weekday right before lunch there wasn't too many people, but as lunch came around lots of people were coming through. We overlooked this place a lot but we're happy we stopped by to try it. This is our new favorite taco spot! The food will definitely keep up coming back. I just wished they had horchata! read more

The tacos here were a miss. I got the carne asada and it tasted as if the meat was cooked long ago and they just have it sitting out. I did not enjoy the tacos one bit. The service was really good and the cashier was very friendly but the food was a total let down. I wish these tacos were as good as taco revolution since I live so close to the mall. Heard this spot was as good if not better than TEG which is a high bar to pass. Boy lemme tell ya. What it looked like to be the manager of the spot greeted me with a smile as i entered the door. I ordered my adobada tacos & when it came to the first bite, an overwhelming amount of juice and flavor came from the taco. I was sold. They do not skimp out on the amount of meat either. The sauces they supply at the sauce bar is top notch. The prices of the tacos being $3.98 is quite high, so it would be great if they can offer a happy hour/taco tuesday deal! read more

Suadero taco tastes like fish taco. Purchased a queso taco and it was served with no cheese. We took food to go so we didn't noticed until we got home. Carne asada tastes good but meat was overcooked, like when it gets cooked several hours in advance. The service was excellent, very nice people attending. read more

I will start off by saying I usually will wait to go to TJ for tacos. They are much tastier and reasonably prices compared to tacos here in the U.S. With that said I am still always open to trying taquerias! My taco buddy told me he found a place that was better than anywhere here in S.D. and comparable to TJ's tacos. I trust his opinion and needed to check this place out! I went on Wednesday and loved it so much that me, my wife, my buddy and his wife went that Friday! My go to meats are; carne asada, adobada, suadero and carnitas. Welp, I did it guys. After almost 4 years of living in San Diego county, I found the best taco in San Diego and it's in a retail mall in Chula Vista. The tortillas are what make it, made from scratch, but the fillings were also genuinely excellent. Fantastic service by, I think, a father and son, who are very sweet. If we're strictly ranking on their tacos, they'd get five stars. I had the Adobada, and Lengua plus a Asada Mulita. I'd come back just for what I got. The meats were succulent and the tortillas held up the whole time. It grinds my gears when taquerias don't make or, at the very least, don't source their tortillas well. The tortilla is the base after all, that has to be good foremost. Service was friendly and helpful too. I noticed a couple of flies around, none of which landed in my food. That's not a deal breaker for me, it happens. There weren't any sides though, and also no beer. That's where the missing star went. No beans, no rice, no grilled green onions, no cervesa to wash it down. You know, the kind of stuff you find at most taquerias, which I also like to have with my meal. They also had tacos, tostadas, tortas, quesadillas, and loaded fries. But no burritos which I thought was weird. Oh well, four out of five stars is still a good score. I'd definitely go back if I'm in the area, but it's twenty minutes away so wouldn't make the trip just for that. Take that for what it is. It's a good taco read more
