I came to Taqueria 424 last night with a friend and ordered the carne asada potatoes. My biggest issue was the complete lack of consistency. My friend's order came out piled high with steak, sauce, cheese, and looked fresh, loaded, and delicious. Mine looked like they barely tried very little steak, skimpy toppings, and nowhere near the same quality or portion size. For food that cost close to $40, both plates should have been prepared with the same care and same portions. It was disappointing to sit there looking at two completely different meals when we ordered the same thing. My friend's potato looked amazing and flavorful, while mine was bland and sad in comparison. The real problem is that consistency is one of the most important parts of running any restaurant or food truck. Customers should know that if two people order the same item at the same time, they're going to receive the same quality, portion size, and overall experience. When one order is overloaded and the other is skimpy, it makes customers feel like they paid the same price for less value. It also makes it hard to trust what you'll get if you come back again. Good food brings people in once, but consistency is what keeps them returning. If my food had come out like hers, I'd absolutely consider coming back. But after paying that much and getting such an uneven experience, I'm not sure I would return. Consistency matters, especially at those prices. It's a food truck. There's no ambience. This loaded baked potato was absolutely worth the drive. The potato was cooked over an open flame to perfection -- the skin was crispy while the inside was soft and perfectly textured. It was loaded with melted butter, cheese, carne asada, and al pastor, then topped with two amazing salsas & crema. Every bite was insanely delicious and I cannot stop talking about how good it was! I was really disappointed with our experience here. We ordered cabeza, tripa, pastor tacos, and my husband also ordered two al pastor mulitas. Unfortunately, they gave him carne asada instead of al pastor. The biggest issue was the food quality. The cabeza had a strong unpleasant odor and tasted spoiled, so we ended up throwing those tacos away. The onions and cilantro also smelled which made us uncomfortable eating the rest of the meal. The tortillas were another disappointment. They advertise them as homemade, but they were extremely thick more like gorditas than tortillas which wasn't what we were expecting and took away from the tacos. Overall, between the incorrect order, the questionable freshness of the ingredients, and the overly thick tortillas, this was not a good experience. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place. read more

Finally got here!!! We arrived just in time before the crowd! It was 5 deep when we got there. Even if I came later, I'd wait in line anyways! We came for the potato and boy did they deliver!! Big potatoes!! Looks like probably 4 potatoes big! Pick up to two meats for $14.50. But Lengua and Tripa cost more. That's what I got!! But the receipt price doesn't add up. Not by much, but oh well. Lengua was nice n soft. Tripa wasn't crispy. Had good flavor, but was chewy. Maybe cuz of the heat and time before I got home. But still good! My friend got the carne asada. Potatoes come with corn tortillas, grilled onions and grilled jalapeno on the side, in the box. We wanted to try the chicken taco we ordered but was stolen by my friend's father. He loved the grilled jalapeno the best! I loved the condiment bar the best. They have a big plastic bag and you grab all the condiments you want. I wish they would fill up the salsa cups all the way and give more cilantro and onion in the baggies. The best salsa is the orange creamy looking one. That's the habanero! Has a great kick! I don't care for the reds or greens. The habanero makes everything so much tastier! This is my go to every time I'm in Vegas! read more

Get there in time cause the line is long. I love a place like this. We had 2 papas rellenos and 4 tacos. Overall it was very good. The potatoes were ordered one with asada and one with asada and pastor. Both meats were tasty but the asada had a lot of gristle. Be ready for a super smoky flavor from both the potato and the meats. It kinda was a bit overwhelming. For me the tacos were a better choice cause the smokiness worked better and was not overpowering. The wait was about 40 minutes. When I arrived there was about 15 people in front of me...kinda slow service but when I left the line was probably 40 deep. FYI -The potato will feed 2 people easily. read more

Yelp Review 2025 #89: Taqueria 425 is located on Nellis and Owens. Their truck is there every Wednesday to Sunday. We came here through word of mouth. They have tacos, quesadillas, mulitas, burritos, Papas Rellenas, torta with meats like carne asada, tripe, tongue, pastor, cabeza, chicharrones, chorizo, and suadero (flank steak that's similar to brisket). We were told to get their Papas Rellenas and make sure to grab their avocado crema. I had to look up their Insta to see if they have other things I could try. According to a picture on their Insta they have chicken tacos - they did not. Papas Rellenas: You can pick whatever protein you want from their menu. It's a big baked potato that they mash just a little bit so your toppings and protein could fit nicely. I've always found baked potato to be the boring cousin of French fries but I bet nobody would be saying that after you try this kind of baked potato! It's very filling and delicious. 4.5/5 Carne Asada Tacos: The carne was beautifully cooked and flavorful. It comes with grilled onions. Add the fresh onions and cilantro...and the avocado crema which is mildly spicy. They're only about $3 each. 4/5 Sure enough, the line grew longer as we were leaving. It's quite a happening truck! I came and got the dollar tacos but sadly they were all out of chicken so I got the Al pastor it was okay I'd say I recommend it if your looking for something cheap to eat on Wednesdays they had someone giving out samples of something sweet which was nice too I didn't have to wait long for the food. read more

They had one heat lamp Who h felt great when you finally made it to it and one more heat lamp in the dinning area. Everyone was super friendly and the food is made quick only drawback was the hour plus wait to get to the ordering point. The place is busy and that speaks for the food. Saw a viral video of a taco truck with these potatoes! I did not realize how long I would be waiting in line, but the wait was definitely worth it! Everyone in line was talking and getting along with each other so I would definitely say even though it was a taco truck the ambience and vibe was wonderful. Now I did see on social media that the Carne Asada was the best option so that was what I went with in the potato and I was so happy that I did. It was flavorful and it had a wonderful char on it. However, I didn't wanna try some of the other meat options so I got them in a taco and I was not as impressed. If you've never been to this taco truck, you definitely must try them out. This place is about 5 minutes from my house. There are food trucks all over Vegas, it can be hit and miss so I don't visit them very often unless I hear good things. I saw a post on IG about Taqueria 425, since it was very close, decided to try it. One reason I've never been is because there are usually 3-4 food trucks set up at that intersection with dozens of others close by. When I arrived there was a line of about 15 people! I hate waiting but long lines are usually a very good sign. The security guard was really cool and made some suggestions. I ordered the papas rellenas, that's the insane stuffed baked potato, this thing was massive and piled high with carne asada! I also ordered two tacos which I never got to after dealing that the huge potato. The cheese, salsa, guac and meat explodes in your mouth and then you get to the potato which takes it over the top. I didn't even need to use any of the additional salsa, it was perfect. BTW their salsa is fabulous, it's kinda hot but full of flavor. Often salsa is just hot with no flavor, their salsa is incredible. I could not finish that potato, put it and the tacos in the fridge, had them for lunch the next day. Another thing I noticed was their tortillas. Usually when I put tacos in the fridge and heat them up in the microwave the next day, the tortilla becomes extremely tough and rubbery. Let me just say I stood waiting in the freezing cold and it was worth every minute. Came across this spot on tik tok and they deserve all the recognition. Pro tip; not a lot of parking in this lot so bring a smaller vehicle to easily get in and out if you can!! Everyone was so friendly. Even those standing in line were all excited to try. There was even someone giving out free samples of Champurrado that kept us nice and warm until we made it to the front. They have a great system here and kept the line moving. My order was "allegedly" tooken by me already, even though I claimed I had never picked it up, as they had also seen me wait for 45 minutes. When they remade the order, I was missing one of two of my asada plates. They then blamed it on me again, that I had stolen from them. After waiting a full 2 hours for my 2 plates of asada, despite they had 6 workers in one little truck making the food, the asada was raw and under seasoned. After watch this spot on YouTube we finally got to try and it didn't disappoint. Parking is next door where you'll see a ton of big rigs. There's usually a person who's directing you. Price and portion is fair. Seating is outdoor and very limited so if you plan to dine there go early. Asada is a must have and after that cabeza and al pastor. Got the baked potato with asada and all the condiments (melted cheese, guacamole sauce, red chile sauce,). The asada had great flavor! Juicy and super well seasoned and could taste the charcoal grilled! The hot sauces were spicy and super flavorful. GF got the asada taco and it was damn good. Worth the wait (30 min line) and drive (25 mins from strip). Park on the side street, the parking lot is small and crazy. Recommend eating there hot off the grill. Most people get to go and I don't know if the food travels well. They have picnic style tables and plastic chairs with Mexican music blasting and it works! Viva Mexico! read more

Ordered a carne asada potato, pastor potato, carne asada burrito, pastor burrito and bottles of water. The line was extremely long but it kept moving even at 9pm at night. The parking lot was very crowded as well but the parking attendant did a great job in finding spots for the people to park, The service was great and the food was very tasty. I wish they had a couple tables available for people to eat, as there was one small table in back for people to stand and eat.
