    Barbacoa taco

First time at this family owned business. The service is fast and prompt. When entering the restaurant, you self seat yourselves. Inside have a few tables/chairs and booths. They give you complimentary chips and salsa along with refill of it. The salsa is not spicy but it does slowly creep up on you after a few bites if you are not use to spicy. The chips are fresh and homemade! It's super crispy and pretty delicious! We ordered, the carne gusada taco, beef fajitas taco, 3 beef enchiladas which comes with beans and rice, sopa, and barbacoa taco. The carne gusada taco was bomb and great! The meat was tender and just the perfect amount of sauciness to it. Perfectly seasoned and not salty. The beef fajitas taco comes with beans in it and it was a bit heavy on the salt. The sopa my friend had ordered, she liked along with the barbacoa. The enchiladas I had asked for beef fajitas enchiladas but the waitress had taken the order wrong because she was impatient. The beans were a bit on the watery side and the rice was good. Authentic Mexican food and I would come here again to try the different dishes offered.

It's tasting good service can use some work though so far so good

Food was ok had better service was ok food wasn't what the hype was all about I'm from San Antonio and there are thousands of Mexican restaurants there and food is never the same at each place but there is only one I go to and it's just like how my grandma use to make and her Tortillas for real this restaurant or fake not even real Store-bought tortilllas suck at this place tea was ok no ice that's about it I won't be going back

My son and I stopped in on our way to Austin. I passed it up the first time but doubled back and stopped in. I had the beef fajita plate and he had the carne guisada. He told me it was the best he's had. The fajitas were perfect as well. The hot sauce for the chips was awesome! It's small with tables and chairs and diner booths. Great prices, friendly service, and great food! Definitely going to stop in again next time we are in town. [ note: doesn't accept AMEX but other cards are fine ]

I never make a trip home to Elgin without stopping at Azteca. Food has been great for the 20 plus years I have dined here

Delicious, cheap, simple, and no fuss. The closest thing to Tamale House I've found in Elgin or Austin.

If you blink driving through Elgin you will miss this wonderful restaurant. We were definitely getting hangry on our return trip, and Yelp thankfully directed us here. Since it was late at night, they were not busy. They do have daily specials, but we went our ole faithful, enchiladas. We did start with chips and salsa. These chips are solid and allow you to scoop up their slightly spicy and rich salsa. I ordered their Tex-Mex enchiladas. These are 3 large enchiladas. I ordered one of each chicken, beef, and cheese. They arrived stuffed to the gills and covered with awesome queso. The dish comes with a generous portion of beans and Mexican rice. Taqueria Guadalajara is the real deal, and we will definitely be returning on our next road trip. I left just like my enchiladas pleasantly "stuffed to the gills"! As others have mentioned, the building has seen better days, but the food and service are superb! ,

This is the only place we go to in Elgin for Mexican food because it is simply the best one and is always packed with locals. Food comes out hot and fresh each time. We love the breakfast tacos here and haven't had anything we haven't liked. It's a small restaurant so there is limited seating but service is fast. Do I recommend this place? Yes the only place I recommend in Elgin for Mexican food

I randomly came across this food truck as I was craving buche tacos and this was one of the few…read moreplaces that actually have that option of meat. It is a bit of a drive for me since it's in Elgin but very well worth it. They have a good variety of meats but my favorite is of course their buche. I initially came here for tacos but after having trying their buche quesadilla (sooo incredibly yummy!!!), I started getting that instead. For quesadillas you get an option of the size. I usually go with the large which they prepare with an 8" tortilla I believe. It usually fills me up. Outside of how delicious the food is, I love how they give you a side of grilled onions as part of the meal. I would put those into either the tacos or quesadilla for that extra flavor. Also, they provide 3 different sauces. This creamy green salsa sauce they have is soooo good. The food typically comes out fairly quick as well so that's also another plus.

It seemed to be two trucks combined, a lot of food options, it'll take you some time to look through the menus taped all over the trucks. There is some outdoor seating, but it was too hot during the day for us to have enjoyed our meal so we took our order to go. The young woman who took our order was very nice and kind in taking our order. I'm a big barbacoa fan so it's the first thing I looked for on the menu. I ordered a barbacoa torta with an horchata to drink. My picture might not make the torta look super appetizing, but it was GOOD. It's hard to find good barbacoa in Austin, but this one was what it should be--moist, tender with some of that "good grease." The bread was super soft and it was a good size for me. The horchata was a color we weren't used to seeing, but when we tried it we loved it! Super refreshing! We will definitely be making more stops here in the future to get our fixes. Would recommend checking it out!
