Each if them were flavorful on their own but were elevated even more by the 4 different salsas they bring to your table! What we ordered: birria burrito, chips and salsa, two meat dish with Al pastor and asada. The first downfall is the chips and salsa are not free. The chips were decent and had a good salty flavor, but the salsa was probably the worst salsa I've ever had. No cilantro, no onion no flavor. The Birria burrito was huge, but it was 95% rice. For the little bit of meat that was in the burrito it was flavorful. also, the majority was right towards the center so what you see in that picture is about all there was. It didn't stretch to the end of the burrito. The meat plate was just OK, it had bacon and some other things in it that just were not driving well with me. I liked that there was visible pineapple on the tacos as a couple places I've visited in the area you received so little that you want sure it was there. This place seems to have been "coming soon" for most of the year, so great to see them finally open. Ordered a steak taco and a tripa taco. Doubled up on the corn tortillas and the meat on both were fresh and hot. You get three different salsas of different spice levels to put on. And honestly these are some of the best tacos I've ever had in the Indianapolis area. No pictures of the food as I devoured them, but the menu is pretty extensive. The WEIRDEST "Mexican rice" ever. It was WHITE, without much flavor. Carne asada tacos were okay, a little light on the meat. The "ceviche" tostada contained some miniscule amount of shredded white fish. No shrimp / scallops. Basically it was Pico de gallo with lime juice with a hard, corn tortilla. Tasted okay, but ingredients were terribly lacking. I'm from San Diego and I KNOW authentic Mexican Food. I saw the "Opening Soon" signs on the fence outside for awhile before they opened then went a few days after grand opening. We've been coming here 1-2 times a month since opening. Coming from the southwest, we've had a really hard time finding decent tacos. All of the places we've heard people recommend have been mediocre at best. The tacos here are the closest we've found to your typical good taco truck in the southwest. The carne asada and al pastor are solid. The tortillas are not the usual store bought dry things most places in Indiana use, which is my biggest complaint with those places. When my family wants tacos, this is the place we go, even though it's 25 minutes away. We introduced this place to some local friends and they've had El Jinete cater a few parties and always gets great reviews. My only real complaint is the birria doesn't come with consume but is still delicious. read more

Stopped in around 8:30 after shopping. The restaurant is very clean and spacious. We ordered 4 tacos and a torta. I highly recommend the Al Pastor meat on the tacos. My wife from Mexico said YUM, these taste just like Mexico. The other meat was carne asada, it was also very good. The service was wonderful. The waiting staff would was very nice and cordial and the line chefs were very quick and efficient with our order. The Al Pastor was so good we got another taco. Don't skip this place. read more

The food was terrible. I took one bite and couldn't do it. My son's burrito had two random green beans in it that looked old and mushy. They don't tell you the drinks are glass bottles drinks so if you want a refill it's another $3.00. The waitress never checked on us and sat playing on her phone the whole time. This is one of the cleanest restaurants you will ever see. All the stainless shines, even the hood system over the stove was immaculately clean. Salt shaker and hot sauce bottles were squeaky clean(so many restaurants do not clean condiments). Although I ordered at the counter, a person brought my aqua de pina to the my table. As I got up to grab napkins, the same person brought me some napkins. Same person brought the food along with their hot sauces. I had tacos. The onions were finely and uniformly dices, and the cilantro had no discoloration/oxidation and had obviously been cut with a sharp knife. Limes were similarly pristine.
