    Tilapia Dinner Plate
    May K.

Came here as the El Cerrito location no longer offer a fish dinner plate. I ordered the Tilapia plate and my partner ordered the Chimichanga with shredded chicken Togo. When we got our food home, my ordered turned out to be a whole fish with head and all but found it nice and crispy with a great flavor! It came with fluffy Spanish rice with great flavor along with choice of beans. The Chimichanga was good but didn't travel well as it wasn't as crispy as we had hoped but was still good as well! This place was also a lot better setup for dine in as well with ample parking! Definitely a repeat place to eat!

We came back today and enjoyed their La Cocina tongue burrito. Burrito's a little more than 15. Overall $22 per burrito after tax and tips which is quite expensive but it's the Bay Area and that's what you pay nowadays for a good burrito. I do wish their chips were fresher. The chips are always borderline stale here. Unfortunately they don't compare to my favorite taqueria in Napa but this is a good place in the East Bay.

its Taco Tuesday & here I am again ! I love the salsa bar especially the pico de gallo & the chunky red sauce ! I usually get 2 street tacos, one w/pinto & & one w/black beans plus the onions, cilantro, salsa & a little tray of chips !! The chips were especially crispy today service is so quick, it is clean & well lit & never very noisy

Drink wasn't filled up and tacos were full of lettuce and no flavor at all. Please don't ever call this Mexican food , that's disrespectful

    Chili relleno plate

We really enjoyed our lunch here. I had the chili rellenos plate and my husband had a shrimp burrito. Both were flavorful and portions were hefty. Accompanying the entree were tortilla chips and flour tortillas. The shrimp burrito had at least 10 whole shrimp and they were throughout the burrito. There is a self-serve sauce stand with about 8 different sauces. There's a self-service water dispenser. Order at the counter and your food is brought to you. There's six tables for four and a counter area. Service is friendly.

My chile relleno plate came a shredded lettuce salad and a slice of tomato and with rice and a choice of beans.

The food is excellent and prices are reasonable. More importantly, this place is very clean! The service is also great I returned a second time and ordered the two chile rellenos plate that comes with spanish rice, beans (black or refried), shredded lettuce/sour cream/guacamole/fresh tomato slice. Warm corn tortillas are served in a container. I ordered the mix fresh fruit - fruta fresca and have included a photo of it. Love coming here!

Wet Burrito- Mojado Burrito Carne Asada cross section

We came here for lunch on a weekday and there was plenty of space for dining. Seemed like local workers came in for their lunch. The Pina (pineapple) Agua Fresca was light in flavor (not sure if it was watered down). I liked the Mojado Burrito Carne Asada- diced meat with red sauce that was not too spicy. We also tried the Super Burrito Cabeza (cheeks) - looks like shredded corned beef, had tendons and was tender and juicy. I would get takeout from this restaurant too. My Ratings: 5 - Excellent, above and beyond 4- Very Good, I'll return again and again 3 - Average, I could come back 2- Below Average, I may try them again 1 - Needs Improvement

Have to drop 2 stars. Service has gone down. For my last few times I've placed my order over the phone, my orders took longer to make because the order was taken wrong (don't know the menu/POS system), wasn't even made yet even though I called over 30mins prior and told it would only be 20mins, or supposedly the order was "accidentally given to someone else". Seems like there is an excuse every time for the poor service and the kicker - I always order the same items each time so not sure why it's hard to fulfill properly.

Street taco served on lid. Not happy to receive my dinner on a lid when I spend over 30 dollars on my meal For my gf and myself , And half the order is always wrong or they forget to add cheese that they charge you for.

I ordered some tacos, a burrito, and some nachos. I thought the best were the tacos, for $4 a pop, it was pretty big in portion size. The nachos were good. I didn't get a chance to try the burrito because my son devoured it. Service was quick and helpful. I liked that they had a salsa bar! Nom! Ambiance is super chill, and I enjoyed it. I will be coming back

    Taco de Pastor

Pretty solid spot for the area! I got the carne asada super burrito with black beans. The meat was actually really flavorful. Bonus points for coming with chips and self service salsa bar. Chips are light and thin, and salsa bar has about 5-6 different salsas with good mild options. This place is affordable, clean, and tasty :)

    Caldo de camarón
    Carolina C.

The service was good. The cashier was super nice and friendly ! My husband got tacos de al pastor. I got the caldo de camarón. Both were amazing ! We tried the green salsa , delicious fresh and citrusy. The salsa tatemada (which is the roasted one) was so good- as expected ! We finished off the meal with the shortbread like Mexican walnut cookies which are filled with cajeta ( similar to dulce de leche) - if you haven't tried them you must !

Yes, the prices have definitely increased, the quality has remained which is why we continue to pay. Our orders are always placed over the phone for pickup and accurate when received. The portions are insanely massive and serve as two meals for me. Rarely can I eat a single burrito in one sitting. It's a Shrimp burrito ($18.50) for me with black beans (and extra black beans to replace the rice) made Wet ($2.00) with verde (green) sauce. The shrimp are jumbo and plentiful with a piece included in almost every bite. My hubby's go to is a Super burrito ($15.00) with steak ($1.25) and black beans. You can add extra steak for an additional $1.25. The amount of steak already included is a lot. He finishes his entire burrito without looking to snack after. The restaurant itself is clean, well maintained and spacious inside with plenty of seating. I believe we ate there once on a whim. The service was fast, friendly and accurate. Even when we do phone orders for pickup the staff on the phone and in person are friendly. Taqueria Morena is in a shopping center (at the top to your left upon entering) so there is ample parking. It can get crowded, rarely, so front door parking is not always an optional. I definitely recommend Taqueria Morena. We bring family and friends to grab a bite when they are craving a burrito close to home. There is now the option of online ordering, service fees are included with your order so I've stuck with phone orders. Phone orders are ready in 10-15 minutes (usually) unless they are super busy. Our orders are ready when we arrive within the time provided for pickup. I'm so grateful we did not allow others experiences to influence our first try. We would have missed out.

There is a plethora of excellent restaurants near me that are family-owned and serve delicious food. When I decided that my meal was a salad, my opinion changed, it now is a solid 3 stars. I took home a bowl to share; it was enough for two people. I chose asada as the protein and added just about everything as I moved my way towards the cash register. When I got home I put a vinaigrette on it and became a great salad. I especially like the taste of cilantro rice, the corn salsa, and guacamole. Although I think $20 for a tip for a bowl with a side order of guacamole and chips is expensive for a fast food meal, it was good enough that I would have a bowl again
