Ordered a chicken quesadilla from the taco truck that we occasionally come to. It's usually hit or miss, and today it was a miss. As I got home from the truck, I only received a cheese quesadilla. I tried calling the number listed online, but no answer. So I am at home, stuck with a cheese quesadilla, being charged 12+ dollars for it. Terrible and won't come here again. read more

The food is okay, chicken and carnitas is good asada can be pretty fatty & if you come later in the day the food is a lot skimpier, like smaller burritos, less meat on tacos etc. they often get my order wrong when asking for extra or non of something. Today I got some carnitas tacos no onions, & had to go all the way back for them to say we never said no onions & he didn't even take the order lol. And then they took the tacos back to reuse!!! (And I had ate a few pieces of meat so my hands were all in there , sorry to whoever got those!!) so yeah pretty unsanitary place. Also very stingy about sauces like you get 1 for 4 tacos and a burrito, so be prepared to pay for more, definitely would suggest heading up the road to 23rd street for better trucks and service! read more

Honestly, it was gross. The super burrito was large in size but only had 3 ingredients (refried beans, rice, and meat) and surprisingly very little meat. No cilantro, no tomatoes, no salsa. You probably wouldn't hit up this taco truck unless you're in the area, but it's worth it if it's near your house or destination. I wouldn't go out of my way though! On the outskirts of El Sobrante you'll find this taco truck in a parking lot. I've only had the carne asada and al pastor tacos. The meat is always flavorful and certainly edible. The first time I came here, they asked if I wanted lettuce on my tacos. I've never seen this from a taco truck, INTERESTING! Not bad but weird. I tried it and love it! Every time I come here, I ask for lettuce. Don't knock it till you try it! If you like spicy salsa, get their red salsa. It's hot but not unbearable hot. I love it! Solid truck. The pastor and steak don't always impress me so I always go w chicken tacos and they don't disappoint. They have a pretty large menu, planning to try the enchiladas. I have always passed by this taco truck and decided to give it a shot. I ordered carne asada and al pastor tacos. The carne asada was very salty and could barely finish eating it. Giving them a 5 star rating because this taco truck brings me down memory lane. My love for burritos and Mexican food in general started at this taco truck. I first came here years ago, when I was in high school. A friend of mine said that she wanted a burrito and I had never tried one before and she convinced me to come with her after school one day because she said that they were good. I remember asking her what I should order and she basically picked my order for me LOL... Anyways, the burrito was so good that I told my parents about it and they ended up taking my little brother here for tacos and burritos.We became regulars here until we moved away from the area after I graduated from the high school close by. I'll definitely stop by one day soon to give an updated review based on the food and service here... Lived in El Sobrante back in 2014 & seen this place all the time. Couple years later, came back to visit and Decided to give it a chance to see if it was good. Ordered one taco and got back up to order 3 more. That's all I should say haha. This place is AMAZING. I was surprised to see the 3 star reviews on Yelp but everyone has their preference when it comes to tacos and such. I'd say give it a shot yourself and see if it's good! This place has the best food but they don't like to stay open in the evening. Their birria tacos are outstanding. The beans are so good. So are their enchiladas and grilled chicken tacos. But go for lunch because you'll be disappointed at dinner. We went at 730 one night and they were already closed, so the next time we went by at 7 and they didn't have any grilled chicken, no birria and what they did make was a half effort. She honked the truck at us when the order was ready and closed as soon as we picked up our order. I thought they're supposed to be open until 9 or something. read more

Tacos are pretty good. But I'll stick to my go to Taco Truck in Richmond "La Flor De Jalisco." Again not bad. I judge all Taco Trucks by there street tacos, and these were Decent. If this Truck was located in Vallejo it would be Top Notch, but Richmond has better options IMO. read more

tacos are really good and i come all the time but last night i went to tacos rodriguez and ordered 7 steak tacos and the server tried to charge me 53$ i thought i heard wrong because we paid 32$ for 8 steak tacos about 2 days before and we got extra sauces and veggies on the side, he said that 53$ for 7 tacos was correct, he charged us about 7$ a taco and it is supposed to be 3.40ish for one it was just very upsetting because it felt like he was trying to overcharge us by a lot we ended up cancelling the order after he confirmed the price, the tacos are good but not worth getting charged 7$ per taco:/ read more

What a treat. The meat in the beef taco was tasty and juicy. The onion, cilantro, and salsa were all great additions to the taco. To be sure it was not a onetime fluke, and they were still good I tried them the next day and they were still tasty. They also have burritos, which I doubt I'll try, I prefer tacos. I normally go to El Trompudo around the way. The food there is much better than here and much better value. But when I tried to order from there yesterday they were out of carne asada (???). I had my mind fixed on a burrito and thought I'd give this taco truck a shot. Turned out to be a BIG fail. I put my sons order in first. He's a very picky eater and the guy taking the order was quick to ask 'what else' without repeating my order or even acknowledging the modifications I requested so I repeated it. He seemed kinda annoyed and said 'how many of those do you want???' I said just 1 'but I just want to make sure it's made right.' *rolls his eyes* So of course I get home and my sons order is completely wrong. I also ordered 2 super burritos with everything on it. Can't mess that up right??? Well, unfortunately YES. Both burrito's were probably 3/4's rice. My wife even mentioned how much rice was in hers. I joked that it was a rice burrito. The meat is just there to give it a little more flavor. And on top of that, I spent at least $5 or $10 more than what I usually pay at El Trompudo for the same order. I have to agree with the other 1-2 start reviews of this truck. I give it 1 star for two reasons - the chicken tacos we got were really wet and dripped all over the place. They were difficult to enjoy. #2 was the service. I got the impression they were so much friendlier if you spoke spanish. I don't care if you're a customer at a chinese, japanese, mexican, salvadorian, russian dining establishment anywhere in the world. Tacos are not far off from La Flor de Jalisco. I've heard the owners are cousins so the meats and salsas aren't far off. They're way cheaper than La Flor de Jalisco that's for sure! The beef tongue here is the best I've had in the East Bay. It's tender and full of flavor. However, stay away from the tripe! Rubbery and gritty and BITTER. Yes, bitter. Unless you want pieces of bitter rubber in your taco, you don't want the tripe here. Hubby liked his carnitas and chicharron tacos. I'm definitely coming back for more beef tongue tacos! P.S. Stopped by on the way back to SF from Sac-town. We were on a taco excursion for the weekend and this was the best one we could find. The place is located in a random grocery store parking lot. Nothing really stood out. But when we got to the menu, we saw that the tacos were so cheap. At the cheapest, you could get a taco for $1.75, how dope is that? I didn't really know what the other meats were so I stuck to the basics. I had the al pastor tacos, which were a bit smaller than I expected but it was for $1.75 so I'm not complaining. The meat was tasty and the tortillas were warm. Solid tacos. I wouldn't say they were the best that I've had, but they definitely hit the spot. This was the taco truck where I had slammed $20 on the countertop in front of the ladies that worked there right in front of the lady, then went to answer my phone and they told me it would be $11, and I said i just gave you a $20 and she said "what $20?" I was like are you serious, you saw me put the money down right in your face and we looked at each other when I did it.. . I immediately called the police, but it was a he said she said without video evidence. I shouldn't have to consider calling the police when i order a taco from a taco truck and neither should you. What up, Gail N.!! Congrats, you've inspired me to write my first Yelp review. Probably because I'm enjoying my lunch from Tacos Rodriguez at this very moment and on a food high. I am also very hungry. Now, I am no taco aficionado, but when I get a hankering for tacos, it's for THESE tacos. Four Al Pastor tacos and a glass bottle of Coca-Cola from the Central Market, and I'm in my happy place. And always get the red salsa. The Al Pastor is good, and the salsa is good, but put them together and you get the perfect little spicy/salty/sweet meat snacks. I work a short drive away and this truck is always more appealing than the other near-by eateries (including the taqueria that's in my same building!). There's usually a lunch crowd, but the wait is never too long. The carnitas, steak, and chicken aren't outstandingly seasoned, and I've yet to try the lengua and tripa. I never stray from the tacos, either. So yes, this review is pretty much for those tasty little Al Pastor tacos. But get a plate-full, plop down at their picnic table with a bottle of salsa, and enjoy the view of Appian Way in all its glory. read more
