Barely any meet on some of the carnitas tacos, was a pretty fatty.
    Tyler K.

The food is okay, chicken and carnitas is good asada can be pretty fatty & if you come later in the day the food is a lot skimpier, like smaller burritos, less meat on tacos etc. they often get my order wrong when asking for extra or non of something. Today I got some carnitas tacos no onions, & had to go all the way back for them to say we never said no onions & he didn't even take the order lol. And then they took the tacos back to reuse!!! (And I had ate a few pieces of meat so my hands were all in there , sorry to whoever got those!!) so yeah pretty unsanitary place. Also very stingy about sauces like you get 1 for 4 tacos and a burrito, so be prepared to pay for more, definitely would suggest heading up the road to 23rd street for better trucks and service!

You probably wouldn't hit up this taco truck unless you're in the area, but it's worth it if it's near your house or destination. I wouldn't go out of my way though! On the outskirts of El Sobrante you'll find this taco truck in a parking lot. I've only had the carne asada and al pastor tacos. The meat is always flavorful and certainly edible. The first time I came here, they asked if I wanted lettuce on my tacos. I've never seen this from a taco truck, INTERESTING! Not bad but weird. I tried it and love it! Every time I come here, I ask for lettuce. Don't knock it till you try it! If you like spicy salsa, get their red salsa. It's hot but not unbearable hot. I love it! Honestly, I come back here just cause I love their red salsa.

Very good street taco spot. The steak is seasoned perfectly. I also really like their steak torta. I make sure I always ask for the pickled carrots and jalapeños. Their green salsa is the best. Service is always pretty fast. Location is nestled right off san pablo Dam rd right on appian way. Don't sleep on their burritos. Extra onions and cilantro are a must.

I have always passed by this taco truck and decided to give it a shot. I ordered carne asada and al pastor tacos. The carne asada was very salty and could barely finish eating it. The al pastor tacos were a bit bland. The salsa was watery and not spicy. I'm not returning but at least I tried it out.

Street Tacos. Decent. Red and Green Sauce Decent.

Tacos are pretty good. But I'll stick to my go to Taco Truck in Richmond "La Flor De Jalisco." Again not bad. I judge all Taco Trucks by there street tacos, and these were Decent. If this Truck was located in Vallejo it would be Top Notch, but Richmond has better options IMO.

The super steak burrito one of the best around. Large enough for two meals. Large array of other options.

The wet super burrito is massive and mine was packed with carnitas, pinto beans and all the fixings. On their board menu it said "super wet burrito", so that confused me for a second. Lol. The nachos order is big too though I might ask for yellow cheese and pinto beans next time instead of shredded cheese and refried beans. I like their blend of horchata too. It was slow and not crowded for a Sunday after 6 pm. I filled some of the tiny round containers with sauces, limes, and marinated veggies while waiting for my to go order. There's a service charge for credit card payments. Normal for some places now.

But when they are charging extra for stuff which is already in the ingredients... we'll u gotta stop and pause. I've frequent this taqueria a hand full of times and it's the closest mission style taqueria up here in pinole. It's always good service, tasty dishes with decent prices. That's why us humans go back. BUT when u charge extra for a certain type of proteins, there's room for questioning. So I ordered super nachos with carne asada as my meat and a small bottle coke. The total amount came to $24.40, I was surprised. I looked closer to the receipt and it was an extra $2.00 for the asada. Please just add it on the price or put it on the menu "extra for Carne Asada" so we don't get a little receipt shock. $25 dollars for super nachos and a small bottle of coke. Just saying "I won't be back anytime soon. Just wanna thank the trump voter's for the tariff's which makes everything more expensive. Great job.... NOT!!!

The food hasn't changed in all that time which is a huge compliment. I remember running into my teachers here constantly because not even they could resist the burritos. My go to's are Al pastor or carne asada as either super nachos or a super burrito. Burritos always come with a bag of their homemade tortilla chips. All orders come with condiment cups so you can grab pico de gallo, salsas, radishes, lime wedges, or jalapeños from their salsa bar. True Californians know salsa is meant to be poured onto each bite of your burrito and Taqueria Maria provides 3 tasty homemade salsas to do that with. Staff are friendly and fast. I'm also pretty sure it's family run. Not the place for a fancy meal or decor but if you want Mexican food done right and big portions for your money then this is your spot. I prefer it to the famous burrito places like La Taqueria (but I am very biased as a Richmond local).

The salsa bar was a little too spicy for me and my friend thought the meat on her taco was too dry but my husband enjoyed his chicken dish. I used to come here for burritos and was overall happy with my visits. Before I did yelp of course. Today I went in and the prices kept changing when she was telling me how much the items were. Maybe we were both confused but she told me at first it was $10 for a pint of rice & $10 for a pint of beans ... then she said it was $6 dollars for a pint each. I didn't think menu prices fluctuated. Not a terrible place but I looked at the menu and it said around four dollars for a side. Maybe I was misunderstanding the price of the pint. But to my understanding it said on the menu sides of rice and beans $4 something. I paid $6 each .... The beans are amazing probably the best beans I've found anywhere ! I just don't wanna be over charged that's not fair :( . We never used to be so maybe this was a misunderstanding once again. I'm not sure but I'm sad. Would definitely come back for the beans !! Sooo good! Don't judge a book by its cover that's for sure ! Just seen on the menu they have a taco salad will be back to try that! Thanks for reading hope this helps!

IN THE CHIPS: Kicking things off, the Chips and Salsa are now $3.85 for an order, but they were worth the money - light and airy, and the salsa just barely had a hint of heat to it. Just perfect. (5/5) THE BEANS.. Perusing the menu, whatever plate you order, you can specify the kind of beans you want (black beans, pinto beans, refried beans). I chose the black beans, but specified "no cheese" on them in a semi-futile attempt to stay on the healthy side. =) SEAFOOD TACOS I decided on the Seafood Taco Platter, where you get one shrimp taco and a fish taco along with a big side of beans and lots of rice. Each taco comes with a double layer of corn tortillas with grilled shrimp, or fish topped by shredded cabbage drizzled with a lime aioli. Instead of deep fried, the shrimp and fish on each taco were grilled to perfection, instead of deep fried. The fish filet was diced and stir-fried with a wonderful aroma. Instead of making a mess, I decided just to eat my taco by slicing and dicing it from the plate. Super good!
