Excellent food for the price. However, they did miss part of my order and I had to go back out. It was nice to find something authentic and affordable in a touristy town.

I've lived in this neighborhood since a kid so when I say it's just as I remember please believe me! The bacon bean and cheese is so good and warm sweet tea is sweetened to the way I love it. I always use the drive thru but inside is your usual fast paced taqueria. The service is always great and friendly, the drive thru can get backed up but they work as fast as they can to get cars moving. Will always be back especially for the Taco Salad with asada!!

This is one of my favorite places to get a breakfast taco. Their tortillas are amazing and it always tastes fantastic. The staff is very friendly. They also have a drive-through if you need a fast meal. 10 out of 10 on this one.

Great kind of hidden find! There aren't many Mexican restaurants that are actually good, open for dinner, near downtown. They all mostly only serve breakfast and lunch so when I found that this spot is open until 10 on most nights i had to stop by. Classic Mexican restaurant vibes and food. The flautas were thick! Probably the thickest ones I have ever had. They also have a drive thru and an extensive menu with a lot items. Give it a try! I will definitely make this a regular place to visit now that I know its open later and nearby. Whether to pick up tacos or get fajitas its all there. The only thing missing from this place is some margaritas.

Absolutely amazing!! Great thick chips, flavorful salsa, queso was perfectly spicy, enchiladas verde was the best. I want to go back for breakfast tacos.

    Asada with queso, sooo good!

A group of 10 of us went for a late evening dinner, the service was friendly and quick to seat us. The food was all enjoyed by everyone. The asada was tender, had good grill flavor and the queso had just the right kick, not too spicy and not too bland. Others loved the shrimp soup, tortas, enchiladas, and parrillada, etc.

    Al pastor with flour tortilla.

The al pastor flour taco was good. The tortilla tasted home made and delicious. Cute atmosphere.

Took the off beaten path away from the famous River Walk to find this wonderful gem several minutes outside of downtown. The homemade salsa is flavorful and spicy just the way I like it. Served with fresh corn and flour tortilla chips while waiting for the entrees. The Camarones a la Diabla was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Hands down, best I've had in a while. I could've done without the fries although they aren't bad. Do not overlook this place! A definite must try if you're looking for authentic Mexican food in the area.

So I went back and ate in two more time during my stay in San Antonio. The salsa but have just been off the first night. The salsa was so much better when I dined in. My daughter got the bean and cheese nachos and really enjoyed them. My friends son go the chicken burger. It was a huge grilled chicken sandwich. My daughter also got the barbacoa taco and they do not skimp on the meat. I also forgot to say the first night that the Borracho beans were amazing!!

Found this spot after a few attempts to other recommended places were packed or closing. The staff was so friendly even though we came in 20min before closing time. We ordered the beef fajita gorditas and they were decent. Seasoned well but came with a lot of onions (prefer a little less) and was juicy (made the bottom a little soggy if didn't eat fast). Rice and beans were very flavorful. Large servings. Restaurant was clean and spacious. Plenty of parking. Would come back to try breakfast or other dishes.

    Small bowl of menudo.

I decided to stay in the city longer to check out this place. This restaurant is huge and the wait was 45 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. We used our waiting time to stroll through the Mercado across the way. Once the table was ready, my friend got a text. I always wanted to try menudo every Mexican restaurant I go to. But not until I saw the sign on the back cover. This restaurant is under the same owner as Pico de Gallo. Omg. I just had their menudo the day before. No thanks. I decided to order fajita chicken salad. The portion was really small. The food only filled a half of the fried salad bowl. I asked to put cheese on the side. It may had it look more but I don't eat cheese as much. I was glad that dressing was on the side. Which was too salty for me. So, if the food was the same as other chain, we could have eaten there which was closer to the hotel. But I noticed the difference was the servers. Our waitress was cuter and very polite. My friends kept teasing her. She kept good manner and responded back with a smile "uhhh no". Hahaha.

The hostess was a little drab but as I was walked in to be seated, you could feel the upbeat mood. Note that if you're dining solo, they will push hard to seat you at a dark diner type counter to stare at the kitchen area even if you have a reservation, so don't give in unless you're starving and that's your last resort. The colorful decor hits you and you're transported. I ordered the "Mexican Dinner" with chicken enchilada, pork tamal, beef taco with beans and rice. Also had a side order of fresh handmade tortillas. Paloma to wash it all down. Everything tasted great. My server was excellent. Patient and helpful with recommendations. The mariachi band was fun and they roamed the restaurant and bar to play, so chances are that if they aren't singing at your table then they're nearby.

Our waiter checked on us a lot and was very knowledgeable about food allergies and substitutions. Our drinks and meal came out fairly quick. The guac and chips are yummy. They ran out of cheesecake so they gave us tres leches as a substitute--as a huge tres leches fan, this was even better. Both desserts were outstanding. 10/10 will be back if visiting San Antonio again Service was also exceptional--ask for Theresa!! Love the setting, definitely sit outside if you can! Sitting by the river is super scenic and romantic.

There's such a wonderful selection, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. As parents with notoriously picky eaters, we especially appreciate how accommodating the staff is - it's such a relief to know that our kids can also find something yummy with just a quick chat with the staff member. That really makes a difference for a family outing! And oh my goodness, the appetizers are simply fantastic. We couldn't get enough! I also have to give a special shout-out to the Carrajillo I ordered. It was such a delightful surprise - perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, with a lovely citrusy kick that made it incredibly refreshing. Definitely a new favorite drink! We're already looking forward to our next visit to explore more of amazing menu. Just a little heads-up for anyone else, we realized on our way out that there's an extra parking lot right across the street if the main one fills up. Super handy to know!

It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.
