Best I have ever had! The owner is very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere is beautiful and clean and all the food is excellent! My 95 year old mom ate everything on her plate (which she often does not do now). My wife had a combination plate of enchilada and chile relleno and loved it and I had chile relleno also. We drove from Medford to the restaurant in Rogue River. Many people we have asked rave about this restaurant. Well worth the drive and great prices $ too! read more

Pretty good, for the area. It seemed to me there weren't a ton of dining options for this tiny community. I got the special, pollo asada, it was very good in my eyes. The rice may have been a touch dry in my opinion but everything else was delicious. My husband enjoyed his steak fajita burrito although there were too many largely cut bell peppers for his taste. The complimentary chips and salsa were great. Really crispy, salty and thin tortilla chips. The salsa was fresh and quite spicy. Service was dutiful although not what I would call friendly. Atmosphere was really dated, with mostly booths and a bar to sit at. I did appreciate that the restaurant was decorated for Christmas. I was horrified in the restroom. Looked like haunted jail bathrooms from 100 years ago. Also, no baby changing table so I had to place her on a portable changing mat (that I brought) on the disgusting floor! Be aware of that should you be brining a baby in here. Prices are low here, which surprised me. read more

When you wonder through places that are unknown you often need to stop at some point for some well needed sustenance at this very point it came about coming here just as it sounded to be what's good! This was kinda interesting place because you park in the back then once you enter it's a big room that should be for Dinning but I'm not sure if they just moved everything because of what's going on but either way the room wasn't well lit had I not heard the voices of other people eating in the other room I might have walked out but I ventured through it to find the host stand where I stood for a min before someone greeted me and then seated us. We were brought chips and salsa the chips were good the salsa was better as it had a good flavor to it and just was yummy all around! Of the options I went with an enchilada and a tamale both of which were good flavorful and just perfect for this given day of lunch either way I enjoyed them. Overall interesting little place but hey the food wasn't bad who knows if I'll ever come here again but if your traveling through don't overlook it as there was some good things here! read more

The food is ALWAYS fantastic with big portions for a good price. The staff is wonderful, and they offer free "dessert" cinnamon tortilla chips with whipped cream and strawberry drizzle. So yummy! Great food but not as many options as I would like. Especially, I wish they had smaller portion meals like a small combo. They make some dishes differently but that's ok. Flautas are usually flour but corn here and their taquitos are flour. Both are made larger and cut in half... more like chimichangas. We've been enjoying Tarasco's traditional Mexican menu for 15 years. They are our go-to restaurant for dinner with friends and family on the spur of the moment, when we just need to get out and go. There's a lot to be said for small-town Mom and Pop restaurants where they know you and really appreciate your business. We drop in, go to our favorite table and are brought fresh chips and dip (mild, not hot, without being asked!). My default beverage is the Tarasco's Margarita. The Super Burrito and Carne Asada are my favorites. Juan and Maria always greet us, and on a slow night Juan often joins us for a brief visit. It's a friendly place. We stopped here for lunch before visiting a local winery and were delighted with our experience! There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant. We went in from the back door and were greeted and seated quickly. Chips and salsa arrived, and the salsa was a harbinger of things to come! It was spicy and had a wonderful flavor. My wife ordered the fajita burrito. It was large and the seasoning on the meat was outstanding. I had the Albondigas--highly recommended! The meatballs and vegetables were perfectly seasoned, and the soup was hearty. It comes with cilantro, onion and jalapenos so you can spice it up further to your taste. Our attentive and polite server was great, and the food came out quickly. We topped everything off with two sopapillas for dessert. What a great lunch! read more

Service was friendly but a bit slow, because, like most restaurants lately it can't. hire enough staff. The pollo con arroz with bell peppers, mushrooms, onions & cheese had a mildly spicy tomato sauce that was very good. With three tortillas, it filled me up. As usual, there were corn chips and salsa. We both ordered the steak fajita burrito, to go, and it was great. They made one that wasn't spicy at all for someone who doesn't like spicy food and one normal. I had a taste of both versions and they were both excellent, so if you don't like spicy food and let them know they can totally accommodate you. The portion size was very generous I thought. The burrito had a nice assortment of vegetables mixed in with the meat. One of the things in it was mushrooms which I wouldn't have expected in most Mexican foods, but it was a really great addition. The beans and Mexican rice were both quite delicious as well. It seemed like the refried beans were homemade rather than just canned. I'm not positive they were homemade, but I can say they were certainly delicious! read more

I'm not sure if we came on an off night or it was too close to closing time (7:45), or what the problem might have been, but we had a mediocre at best experience at Tarasco Mexican Restaurant. My sister and I had cheese enchilada dinners, my husband had Chile verde, and my brother-in-law had camarones diablo. The enchiladas had a strange sauce, which was a light brown color, but the worst meal, by far, was my brother-in-law's camarones. It arrived at the table looking unappetizing, with mushrooms cut so large they looked like potato's. The sauce was extremely thick and tasted like Sweet Baby Rays barbecue sauce, with a dash of cayenne pepper thrown in. The sweet, smoky flavor was completely unlike an actual diablo sauce. We all ate a portion of our meal, then left. A very disappointing experience. read more

This place was a disappointment. The service was non existent, the waitress was rude and didn't seem happy to see us, she never came to take our order we had to summon her after about 15 min. The food...... I don't know where to begin. 1. The toco shells were out of a box not made fresh. 2. The Mexican pizza was more like a nacho casserole and yucky. 3. We ordered the Mexican pizza with chicken but it came with ground beef. I am no fan of Taco Bell but if I had a choice between the two I'd take Taco Bell. I live in a farming community that has more Mexican restaurants than Seattle has Starbucks so I know a bit about Mexican cook'n. Our experience was bad, maybe if I had visited their bar first and slugged down 7-8 double shots of tequila the food may have tasted better but at that point you'd eat a tic tac off the bathroom floor. The best restaurant in the Rogue Valley period. 25 years of consistent quality. The new restaurant is kind of hidden in town and the locals want to keep it to themselves but it is worth the drive.
