This place was a disappointment. The service was non existent, the waitress was rude and didn't seem happy to see us, she never came to take our order we had to summon her after about 15 min. The food...... I don't know where to begin. 1. The toco shells were out of a box not made fresh. 2. The Mexican pizza was more like a nacho casserole and yucky. 3. We ordered the Mexican pizza with chicken but it came with ground beef. I am no fan of Taco Bell but if I had a choice between the two I'd take Taco Bell. I live in a farming community that has more Mexican restaurants than Seattle has Starbucks so I know a bit about Mexican cook'n. Our experience was bad, maybe if I had visited their bar first and slugged down 7-8 double shots of tequila the food may have tasted better but at that point you'd eat a tic tac off the bathroom floor. The best restaurant in the Rogue Valley period. 25 years of consistent quality. The new restaurant is kind of hidden in town and the locals want to keep it to themselves but it is worth the drive. We've been eating at this family style restaurant for over 20 yrs. It is that family style that greets you with a smile, knows exactly how you like your food. What your favorites are. Always exceptional service by very considerate and kind employees. My favorite is the "Steak Fajita Burrito and Margarita" always a great meal. I've brought larger groups including my family in and they are all pleased with the meals and comfortable space to sit. Nice, cozy place for some decent food. Right off the bat though I have to drop a couple of stars as we stood at the door for several minutes before someone came out and took us to a booth. I could see this as normal for a busy night but this was mid week and the place was practically empty with only 1 or 2 booths occupied. I had the steak tampiquena and while the flavors were good I think for the price the portion was really rather small. My girlfriend had the Colorado deluxe tostada Texas style and she said it was pretty good. Again it looked rather small to me. The portion was filling but I would normally expect to have leftovers to take home for the price we paid. I will give them another chance only if I don't care for the food at our other local place across the bridge. read more

There's only two reasons I'll write a review. The place is either really good or really bad, of which both deserve ratings and reviews. I guess you can tell by the five stars what this review is about. Not many customers when we arrived but the staff appeared to be ready to serve all. We had blended margaritas which were decent. I had the tacos al pastor. I knew from the description they were not true al pastor. But they were delicious. Double shelled tacos packed full of tender tasty meat. There were three tacos. I'm a big eater but I had a hard time getting it all down, but I wasn't gonna waste any. She had a beef quesadilla which she claims was the best ever. It also was packed full of meat. We have eaten in a lot of good Mexican restaurants but I think Tarasco do far is Number One. And the place was pretty clean. read more

We eat here pretty regularly and enjoy the food. We generally share the fajitas. The refried beans are authentic and probably have lard and epispola in them the have a hot and mild salsa for your chip sining but you have ask for both if that is what you want. read more

Maybe it's because I am from San Diego where there's a different standard for Mexican food. The food was just barely OK. Although, the ground beef in my taco and enchilada wasn't great and the Chile Rellano egg batter were all weird. The drinks were very good and the beans and rice were very decent. Great place to eat - don't let it fool you that it's tucked away and might even say 'hole in the wall. As locals we had not taken advantage of in some time. I remembered having chicken tortilla soup here quite a few years ago and it was wonderful, so opted for take-out during covid and happy to say we were pleasantly surprised again! "Meh. I've experienced better." That sums up this evenings visit, first time there. Very nice staff, prompt and courteous, and a cute little place. A little noisy, but very clean and cute. My Cheese Enchilada was just...meh. Not bad tasting, but not particularly good either. Both it, the rice, and the beans were very bland. Hubby ordered the Pollo Diablo, and he said the "diablo sauce" was more like bottled BBQ sauce, with no spices. He added the whole bowl of salsa to try to spice it up, and brought most of it home for a tune-up. On a bright note, he said the chicken was tasty, and well cooked, and lots of mushrooms. If I was starving, and there was nothing else open, and I couldn't drive another 15 minutes to get home and eat, I would go there again. read more

Passing through and found this place on yelp. Got a to go order that didn't take too long. Very well wrapped for takeout eating. A Pork Verde Burrito plate that was delicious. Everything I wanted in Mexican food. Beans were well seasoned and gooey with cheese. Rice was tasty and fluffy. Pork was tender and surrounded by a soft flour tortillas, smothered in Verde sauce. Yum. We also tried a shredded beef chimichanga. The meat again was tender and flavorful while the tortilla had a joyous crunch. Chips and salsa were also great. The only thing negative is how far away they are to where I live. Love to come back when done in is available. read more

Recently moved to Rogue River & Tarasco was one of the first places in town that we tried. Mexican food is one of our favorite dining out choices, so, we tend to be picky. This restaurant immediately passed our repeat customer requirements with the fresh chips, attentive, friendly service & delicious food. Have been back multiple times now & tried several dishes & so far, have not been disappointed. The Chile Rellano's, carnitas, tortilla soup, asada plate & tampiquena with chicken enchilada have all been tasty with satisfying portions. This little Mexican restaurant just off of I5 in Rogue River is an integral part of the community supporting my nieces and nephews (two generations now) in their local sports teams. The people are friendly and customer service is a priority. Top it all off with excellent food. We have celebrated all of our family milestones birthdays graduations etc there. I would like to compliment the cook. Everything I have ever had there was good. A well run business as many others in town have come and gone. So to sum it up a restaurant deserving of community support, (I can't believe someone complained about noise from employees cars) with excellent Mexican food. I was part of a group of 20 people; a reservation for same was made at Tarasco. The restaurant chose to assign ONE waitress for our party of 20. Taking our orders took 30 minutes, then we had an HOUR wait for food. The same sole waitress brought our meals out two at a time. Do the math, that's 10 trips to our table. No one was pleased. My wife ordered a VEGETARIAN enchilada. The waitress came back to check that she had that her order correct. My wife was served last, and was served a BEEF enchilada. The beef looked like fresh poo. SO, despite checking with my wife TWICE, they still got it wrong. Everyone in our party had finished BEFORE my wife got her order done correctly. Stay away from this joke of a restaurant; this was an epic fail on the part of Tarasco Mexican Restaurant. It is a horrible place. Spend your hard-earned money somewhere else. read more

Went here a month ago.....never again. I'm new to the area so I thought i would try it. The staff looked as if they would rather be anywhere else but there. The food was made quickly, but tasted like junk. The meat tasted like it was cheap ground meat, that was cooked the day before, stuck in the fridge and then heated up in the pan again. Excellent Mexican restaurant. Lots of good food to choose from. Hotels give out coupon cards which was great too. We had steak fajitas and steak quesadilla. Didn't get sick later which is a huge plus ha ha. We had enough to take back to our hotel too. For two the price was $30 and they serve a free little dessert too.
