Thank god South San Jose finally got a Target! Oakridge is the worst. We were literally traveling to Morgan Hill before this. Read other stores coming to "Village Oaks" are: Safeway, Marshall's, Petco, Ulta, Starbucks, Panda Express, Chipotle, Five Guys, Panera, Just Falafel, MOD Pizza, B of A, Chase and Safeway Gas. Been waiting for a Target in this area for along time. So very happy to have them here, however the celebration is short lived. I was happy to have Target finally show up, but now I almost always go to Walmart because of how horrible the parking lot is. The front lot is reserved for clean air cars which I think it's great that they are promoting anything Green, but it's a lot of spaces dedicated considering the how small the lot is. Additionally, the entrance is located to the far end if the store like most Targets, but the parking isn't a deep lot, it's lengthy. Therefore, be prepared to walk a distance to and from the entrance/exit. I personally don't mind walking, however at nighttime it's a different story. The lot is dimly lit, it's a mugging waiting to happen (seriously). read more

Drove up for my curbside pick up order, one of the ladies passing the orders out was very nice and efficient. She handed us our entire order but the box with the mop kit had the mop head missing so we patiently waited for another to be brought out. There was no issue with the initial girl. But as it was the next round of cars being helped out my husband got the attention of David but he wasn't very interested in the fact that we had one missing item and tried explaining it was right in front of him. All he replied with was " we go down a list" I understood that but we had been the last from the prior list meaning we should have been the first one to be helped since our order wasn't completed. He then leaves and returns to just stand there and talk and flirt to the girl there, who while he was gone was more then happy to hand out two orders to people approaching her as we stood in the car trying to let them execute their process. I then get very upset because he's not working and we'd been there now for about 40 minutes. I approach the girl since it seemed David wasn't working and she then gave me an attitude and David also chimed in and basically said I was lying and that there was another bag to our order. There was not another bag just the box with the mop kit that my husband tried explaining to him about but he wasn't listening. The girl then decided to ask me "well what Else is it that you want is there anything else we can do" since she had handed me the box but David was being confrontational with me so of course I'm responding to what he's saying. I then told her if you'd like me to leave then maybe have him not talk to me the way he is or confront me in an aggressive way. She then was making comments as I'm walking away so I decided to go inside the store and talk to the manager who was Tammy. Tammy was great, she did give us a gift card to help us feel better and heard. I did feel heard by her but I do want to make sure that the two employees are spoken to, it's not okay to be so confrontational with someone who's just waiting for a item that was initially given to them with a missing part. Their job is to grab out item and if they have nothing nice to say then just don't say it, it's work environment not some street fight they are trying to make it out to be in a parking lot. Very unprofessional and childish. De escalation is the way to go when it comes to work problems especially when I wasn't being confrontational just wanted to be heard. Verbally tag teaming a customer isn't okay and it makes everyone who witnessed very uncomfortable since there were several who saw how rude they both were in laughing it off and continuing to comment even as I was far away. Again Tammy was great, I appreciated her candor but the employees at hand definitely need another position or training with customer service. read more

THIS REVIEW IS SOLELY FOR THE STARBUCKS INSIDE TARGET Let it be known, I absolutely love Starbucks! In a gold card holder and go to Starbucks religiously. However, this afternoon, you have 3 people behind the counter. 2 of them are deep into their conversation with a Target team member, that they fail to realize there's a line of people at the register who need to be assisted. The one behind the register doesn't know comprehend what drink the customer in front of me wanted and took way longer than she should've. Get your shit together. I shouldn't have to be in line WAITING TO ORDER if you have 3 people working behind that counter (2 of which are laughing their asses off with a target team member) seriously disappointed with this Starbucks!! read more

Just okay with its selection/inventory but a stressful place to shop. Why? -Busy parking lot with not enough crosswalks. -Employees blocking aisles while restocking, so you can't get to whole sections of the aisle. Can't they do that before or after hours? -A checker who doesn't take no for an answer when you don't want to know about the card that they offer and talks your ear off like a cartoon sales person when you are just not in the mood for it. It took all my restraint to not to scream, "Aaaah! Salesman!" like an episode of Pee Wee's Playhouse. -Maybe it's my fault that I didn't dress in a full suit of body armor, because I wasn't psychic enough to anticipate being assaulted while shopping at this location, but I'm still in pain after another customer used their cart as a battering ram against my hip bone while standing in line at the check out and the customer who did it showed no remorse. Hooray for the crappy people who shop there who have no manners! So yeah, it's okay but I won't be in a hurry to come back to this location. read more

This place right here started my day off perfect! This has to be one of the ONLY Targets that has AMAZING, AWESOME, HELPFUL, COOL and FRIENDLY customer service!!! Of course like many women, when I go Target, I go for two things and end up walking the whole Target for an hour and leave with 10+ things. Well while doing my usual Saturday routine walk, I must have been greeted like six times by associates asking if I needed help with anything or just saying hello. My great experiences today: 1) Was in the home decor section, and all of a sudden my basket for the four things I came to Target for was too small for all the items I wanted to buy. An associate got me a shopping cart! AMAZING right?! 2) Halfway through my walk, I had to use the restroom but was worried about leaving my cart outside of the restroom thinking some associate will think they are go backs or some one will steal my reusable bags. Lol! Well an associate at the return center said she will keep an eye on it till I got back! AWESOME right?! 3) Found a picture frame that I loved but didn't see a price on it and an associate right there just scanned it for me to tell me the price. Didn't even have to walk around to find an associate or walk to the pay area. HELPFUL right?! 4) Sort of looking lost several times, I had one associate tell me where the lunch bags were and another associate tell me where the dishwashing sink stopper thingy was. COOL right?! 5) Oh just walking around and getting greeted left and right. FRIENDLY right?! Target is the best! And it's even better because this new location is right across from my son's football practice every Saturday! Yeah to me and my son!! P.S. I came here last Black Friday and it wasn't even madness at all and the store was still clean and greatly stocked. read more

This is strictly for the experience I had at the customer service department. When you are in the "customer service" department, you might work on your customer service skills. I did not notice her name, but she is the young pregnant one, rudest employee I have ever encountered in my life. I thought I was at Walmart. Learn how to speak to people. Your attitude is not appreciated. Male stock employees, If you see one of your female coworkers trying to lift a big box, offer assistance. Either it speaks to the younger generation not understanding customer service, the management not providing enough training... either way, customer service is severely lacking. read more

I echo everyone's enthusiasm for a Target close by. The place is cleaner than most and the staff here are quite friendly. It's a much bigger store than the one at Oakridge Mall. Their selections are much nicer too. There was only one time where there was only one cashier and about 8 groups of people in line. It was a bit ridiculous but it might have been an off day. That's retail for ya. Their promotional prices are always displayed wrong. I cannot even count how many times I've had to drive back the same day because what was on the receipt was not what was displayed. Check your receipts before walking out, please! Save yourself some gas and time. They're always willing to fix the issue though so props for good customer service. I've never had a problem with parking here and I've been here every week since it opened. Seriously, you can't walk 200 feet? It's good for ya ;D read more

As of my first visit in April 2014, the store is still very nice and organized. Not a thing out of place as far as I saw. However- I did notice that they had no clearance end caps. My favorite thing to do at Target is to check out the end caps for all the extra discounted deals, and I checked the entire store to discover they did not exist here..... Yet. But then again it IS a new store so I'll give them some time lol. read more

This Target finally opened up off Cottle Rd near Lowes (across the street). Boy for a new store, this one is surely busy. Try finding a car park space within the first 10 rows if your lucky, just drive to the back and park. Since they only have one entrance and exit, expect a long walk to the doors. The front spaces rather than being dedicated for disabled are for green or hybrid vehicles, really ! Since when did Target get in to promoting green cars! Funny how you see SUV's and Cadillacs parked in those spots! Store is your usual Target layout, carts a plenty and Target prices and save 5% if you use your red card. Just wish the car park was not out of control and had a better way to get out on Cottle Rd side, always busy. Cashiers are friendly, just expect a hassle getting in and out of the car park. 3 stars read more

I love this location. It is clean, well organized with helpful staff. The bathrooms are kept clean and even the fittings rooms are clean. I have been to other target's fitting rooms and noticed the floors are very dusty and dirty. I get the hem of my pants covered in dust bunnies when I try on clothing. Not here. Shopping in this Target is sometimes hit or miss. Other than the main stream products rest of the items are sold out pretty much. Especially the kids toys section, makeup section and ice cream section. You don't find what you want all the time but it's not bad after all. I have their red card which gives me some savings each time I shop and plus their cartwheel app also works great for some savings. read more

I'm a fan of Target...the complexity of the floor layout and the sections you're looking for almost always in the middle of other things you didn't actually mean to have accidentally slip into your cart. I caught myself one day looking a few specific items next thing you know I'm standing in the kitchen appliances section in Target downloading the target app to browse the rest of the kitchen appliance section on the app. INCEPTION! Once I realized I was both browsing the physical and virtual Target shelves with a cart full of stuff I grabbed my totem. took my cart to the register and left immediately. Don't fall for the trap and plan/list what you want to buy. This Target is what I'd consider the average Target. The have enough stuff but I've found that they shelves are usually more empty than full. Pay attention closely to the item and make sure it matches with the price, I've picked up some more expensive items that were placed in the wrong section. Also there usually seems to be a slight line but I'v never had to wait more than a 5 minutes to check out. It's local and close to my apartment so I'll most likely still continue to come here for certain purchases. read more

I needed help, and was assisted by a Target staff named Breanna. I was so impressed by her excellent customer service and professionalism!! Although they didn't have much selection on onesies today but i was still able to purchase one so its allllll gucci! they have good staff compared to other targets i've been to so thats always a plus. Great location for a Target, in what seems to be a very new area of construction. Tons of shops and restaurants, all right off 85, near a lot of the new apartment complexes. They also have the instacart delivery service, which I haven't seen at too many locations yet! You can have an order placed, and delivered to you in just a few hours! Seems really helpful if you don't like going in to a busy store, or simply don't have the time to do so. Also makes for a great option if you're at/or visiting someone at the hospital just a few blocks away. Very clean store overall, and seemed to have just about everything you could need! read more

I love this store but the STARBUCKS IS SHITTY I was there about at 2pm I ordered my very berry hibiscus and I ordered it with sweetener when I got it it had no sweetener so I stood there waiting for someone to help me with that for 5 minutes take into consideration there was one person just standing there. I tried to get their attention several times. When I finally got some help the guy was totally rude about it and finally put it in but didn't shake the drink again so the sweetener was stuck in one spot. Do yourself a favor and go across the parking lot to the other Starbucks. read more

Love this Target. The staff are always very helpful and friendly. The store is always well stocked and clean. The only negative thing that I can think of is that their Cafe' or snack bar is not open a lot ...probably due to a shortage of staff. Other than that if you are looking for a nice shopping trip and an efficient checking experience, come here :). read more

Horrible customer service! Waited in line for at least 10 minutes when finally it appears that they have opened an additional register. Walk over to what appears to be a freshly opened register where the clerk is in deed checking the customers items and I'm told that they are not open. I turn around to go back to the line I had been in and it is a mile long and the person who had been behind me was already unloading there cart onto the check out belt. I did not have time to get back in line that was longer than it was when I originally started waiting in line with still only two registers open! I was forced to abandon my cart! No one cared. This target is disappointing me more and more. They are lacking on stocking up groceries, especially the yogurt isle. Every time I come in to buy yogurts, well it turns out they are expired for over 2 weeks! I am disgusted that I have to see this more than 2 times already. Jason(?) or Jeremiah(?) the cashier was a very good cashier. Although the lines were long, he made the time pleasant. I come almost every saturday and sunday just to see him now. Sometimes I'll even buy the same stuff twice and just return it when he isn't looking. He is very attractive and knowledgeable. Josh (!!!!) is also very professional, he had politely declined my advances to be friends outside of target several times now; I know he doesn't want to seem unprofessional to others. He makes red look good, I even bought my own red sweater to match him. I wonder if he knows my name. Everytime I go he scans my items so fast to get me where I need to go as soon as possible. Worst Target ever for the following reasons which I have observed on nearly a weekly basis. They need new management. 1. They run out of carts, so you have to stand and wait for the employees to bring them or go back to the parking lot to bring your own cart in to use. 2. They NEVER have all of the items I need. They are consistently out of stock of items and will be for weeks on end. My husband and I take bets on what item they will be out of stock on-typically it is seasonings, diapers, and makeup. 3. Their bathrooms are dirty and in the womens restroom only half of their sinks and hand dryers work. When I was pregnant I ended up using their restroom nearly every week and they weren't fixed for months and they are still not fixed. 4. They screw up and lose your items you ordered if you do in store pick up. They also can't meet their 2 hour deadline for same day pick up. I'm so frustrated with this Target that I am going to start shopping at the Target at the mall-it's more crowded but at least I won't have to deal with this poorly managed Target! read more

I live within walking distance to this target so I'm there multiple times a week, sometimes multiple times a day. This target is never stocked. It was like that pre-covid, and it's even worse now. The thing that annoys me is that I always check the app to make sure what I want is in stock before I walk over, but the shelves are always empty. The employees do help to look up the item (which is why they earned two stars), but they always say, "it should be on the shelf, we don't know where it is." EVERY TIME. read more
