I am so disappointed. The Asian lady working in the pharmacy has the worst customer service I have ever came in contact with in my life. She wouldn't help several people because she acted as if there questions were stupid. She rolled her eyes and yelled "I'm not helping you" to this young lady who was asking a simple question about a product. I ended up explaining to the young lady what the pharmaceutical product was. The parking layout is so bad, it feels like penance for something I did in a past life. The Target itself is awesome though. It's huge with a well-stocked grocery section. If you live nearby, that means you just cut your round trip for groceries by at least 10 miles. There's all a decent Starbucks and a little pizza nook...that also makes popcorn which always smells sooooooo good. The staff all seems very friendly and well-trained, and the bathrooms are clean....which seems like something that should be a given, but it's not. And just remember: bathrooms are easy to clean compared to the food service areas so if the bathrooms are clean, at least there's hope for the food service areas. This is my favorite Target so far. It was recently built with other stores near Kaiser. I never have to worry about getting the closest parking spot. There are Yogurtland and Five Guys nearby too. This Target is not as crowded as other ones I been to...which is good for me. The employees are very helpful and always asked if you needed help. They would sometimes start a little conversation with you which I don't mind. Everything seem to be in place and stocked very well. read more

The Target at Village Oaks is now open. This place is nice clean and new. They have nice new electronics displays, a big grocery section, a Starbucks, new shelves, carts, displays, etc. The one thing that get this place knocked down a star is parking. There is EV parking, and hybrid parking and then regular parking. The EV parking is fine, I get that. However, I resent the hybrid low emissions parking. My car gets just as good gas mileage as a Prius, but because it's not a hybrid I'm not allowed to park in this parking area. That would be ok if it was enforced in any way. In the hybrid parking I saw a Mustang, GMC Yukon, Buick Regal, etc. What is even more ridiculous is that motorcycle parking became a defacto cart corral and was farther away than the hybrid parking. This layout makes no sense. No one is going to follow it and it will be chaos. I appreciate the EV parking and the attempt to reward low emissions, but this isn't the way to do it. This Target location is one my favorite locations to shop and grab a Starbucks or stop by the hot and cold food section and grab a pizza . I like the layout of this store . Everything is easily conveniently easy to find. Returns /Exchanges are hassle free and hardly ever a long wait .Merchandise is always in its correct department and organized . I've never had an issue with finding a Target associate for assistance if needed. Check out has never been a long wait . Overall , the cashier's are always nice and polite . I personally use " self checkout " majority of the time. Bathrooms are clean but I did have one bad experience after purchasing a product from Target at this location , however Target made it right. It was a really a smooth straightforward positive outcome . I appreciate Target for that and I continue to shop and order from Target Target gets a 5 star rating from and more stars because they prioritized my concern , they addressed it my concern with a approach and valued me as a customer. That's what you call excellent business relations,professionalism and caring about the reputation and image of the company. I still feel Target should remove the defective product I bought from this location and all locations because it's a not a safe product to use or at least put a warning label on the product ; otherwise if I were Target I wouldn't make it available to customer's until manufacture made the change. For the past few week we have choose to stop by the Cottle Road Target Reason being I notice the produce department are much nicer and I can find fresh products. We normal don't buy produce at Target cause it many reasons. No baskets anywhere in the store. No hand helds or push carts. I struggled to carry my pile of items in my hands searching the front of store for a basket. I walked past 3 associates with nothing to do and not one offered to help me. I would have shopped more but I couldn't possibly carry everything. Very disappointed! read more

This is a nice place to shop, but be careful when parking and especially in the back lot. Be on the lookout for a tow truck lurking around. Those bastards are notorious for towing unsuspecting and innocent owners' cars on a whim during business hours. Discovering your car is missing after buying groceries will certainly ruin your shopping experience. Some dumb @$$ towed my car while I was shopping and legally parked. Their staff don't give a $#!+ even though you provide proof they were wrong because they are all partners in crime and don't want to lose their meal ticket. They will fabricate lies to justify their indiscretions and the towing company makes (steals) more money when they tow more cars. This is why they sometimes employ spotters (accessories) to call the instant they see a "parking violation" (opportunity)--which means you might run into a store for a quick item and find your car gone when you get back. These spotters (scumbags) sometimes watch which lot a driver parks in and then verify that the person goes into that particular business. If not, it's a quick call to the towing company and a big headache for the driver. You are more vulnerable if you park at Safeway and they must tow many cars on a daily basis to remain employed. Be vigilant whenever these tow trucks are there, in order to avoid becoming the next victim of a costly fine ($435.00+) that you did not deserve. No car is safe if they are present because they tow cars indiscriminately and at will. They have a history of improprieties and this is evident from the low rating and majority of negative reviews they received on their profile. They will claim there is a 1-hour time limit on parking to justify towing your car, but that is obviously false because there is nothing whatsoever to indicate this. The main points on the barely visible sign when entering from the back lot on Charlotte Drive are: parking is limited to customers only, towed vehicles can be reclaimed by telephoning S.J.P.D., parking restricted 24 hrs. a day, and unauthorized vehicles will be towed away at vehicle owner's expense. If you arrive here late at night before closing, it is usually less crowded and you should not have to wait that long for any register. read more

The quality of glasses seems to be better than any other independent optometry - yes, I like that. However, I would NOT say there be a huge difference in terms of the quality. What makes them different is the friendly staff. This Target, serving an area in desperate need of big retailers, is finally open and it's bigger than other local, standard Targets. Certain areas (e.g. the baby section, card section, and electronics) appear to be redesigned and this particular store carries a few more brands than other locations (um, blue suede cake mix by Duff? Aden + Anais in the baby section? Wrangler jeans?!). As Mama Q. tipped, it even has an Optical section (nestled next to the fancy schmancy Cafe/Starbucks). Likely due to its size, certain sections were also larger --I counted some ten shelves of toys! This isn't a Super Target by any means, but I was still happy to find more random food items here than at the other local locations. While the Village Oaks plaza is being built (look it up, a blueprint of store locations exist!), parking here is a nightmare. There are a trillion low emission parking spots in front of the store, and the rest of the parking is a walk beyond that. Who is going to regulate anyhow? I get good gas mileage! Anyhow, the one immediate entry point off Cottle is positioned RIGHT BY the store entrance. Whoever designed this "thoroughfare" should be stoned. If the line of cars waiting to go in/out is too long, go around Target via Great Oaks Parkway/Charlotte. P.S. Bought a twin air bed mattress two days ago. It would only hold air for two hours then deflate. Can you imagine getting up every two hours and pumping more air into the mattress. I took it back today to get refund or store credit and was told their policy was to exchange for another air mattress of equal or greater value. I told the lady to just throw it away! Target must know they are selling an inferior product with a policy like this. Dont buy air mattress from Target. They must think they are the only retailer in san jose. read more

To me this is just another Target store, some employee you can find for help and they are willing to help, but then you see most of the employees just walking around and doing what job was assigned to them, they will not even pick up their heads to say hi or ask if you need some help. I will not say this is the best Target in the area, but trust me when I do say it is not the worse Target in the area. The store is somewhat clean and maintained. I do shop here when I am in the area, but the two other Target stores which are closer to me are better in Guest Services and Cleanliness of Store. read more

This is my favorite target location to go to! It's brand new and there are a ton of parking spaces!! I like this location because for some reason it seems as though everything is well stocked and very orderly. There's also a pharmacy located in here which is always a plus! Terrible!!! I called about my curbside order and the customer service rep kept saying "I don't know about that stuff, it's not my department". I had to repeatedly ask her to ask her manager about what's going on and her response was, "okay well she's in the back, and she's not going to do it". What kind of store are you running here?? Customers aren't first?? The team here definitely doesn't care about their customers, even going inside of the store (since I had to cancel my own order) is not welcoming. Yikes. Me thinks not. We are on vacation staying with family nearby and inevitably forgot to pack a few things in our suitcase so we had to make a target run for the essentials and for a few grocery items. This Target does not meet the mark (no pun intended). As it's not a super target, the inventory is already limited to begin with, but grocery section is really lacking. I needed items from the kids clothing section, grocery and personal care to get everything in my list. Each section I visited looked like it had been hit by a tornado. There were things amiss everywhere and clothes/hangers strewn about the floor. Hard to navigate a cart around the aisles with all the mess. The grocery and personal item section looked like a 3rd world country with many shelf sections totally bare and missing many key items. The stockers need to do a better job at keeping the aisles clear and the shelves full. If I lived here, I'd be looking for another target to go to regularly. read more

I came by looking to pick up a few things after lunch. The crowd wasn't do crazy and I was able to get parking pretty close to the entrance. I stopped by customer service to take care of a return. Then shopped around and picked up stuff from the health care area and home goods. I found everything I needed and it was nice to use the self checkout line as there wasn't a wait line. read more

This target is pretty darn good I have to say. Aside from the horrible parking which I believe everybody is knocking the store for. The customer service is just amazing here. No matter who you ask for help they're always willing to join in and try to help you find whatever you may need in the store. From clothing to electronics, baby items or food, someone is going to be there to help you out. Target team members seem to always be of help and that's why I choose to shop here instead of Walmart most times. The check out cashiers are very friendly yet understaffed and always lines , the only reason why I knocked a star off. Although I avoid this location like the plague because there is no parking at all but that is due to a poor planning on the center's part not Target so I'm not going to blame them. Great to have a Target store in the hood. Love the convenience to other shops I frequent. Would love to give it a 4star review but it really only deserves a 2.5-3 stars for the following reasons; 1. Shelves are "OUT OF STOCK"for weeks! often EMPTY. Food Items especially Milk (Lactaid), Baking Items, Cosmetics, and Toiletries. Instead of items being re-stocked, "other items" are put in its place which is deceiving. Employees probably don't pay enough attention to make sure products are properly inventoried and/or Merch Buyer doesn't pay enough attention to make sure they order enough to accommodate demand. Really annoying as I end up having to make a trip to another Target or Walmart to do my shopping. 2. Also not enough variety (brands) of bottled Water, Butter (Challenge), Juices (Sun Tropics, Odwalla). Most of the Cashiers in front and Electronics Dept are friendly and efficient :-) However, floor people appear to have had minimal training. Clueless. Reflection on Management/Supes. read more

Came here to get my daughter a birthday present for her 5th. The store inside & the selection, no issues. The problem came when we got back out to our vehicle. The is now a huge dent in the ridge of my drivers door. Being an auto technician, I know it took some serious effort to cause this smash in my door. It was not just a small ding or an accident (teach me for parking next to a pos car that looked like someone lived in it). So we call into the store. They say they can't tell us anything, but can only talk to police. Fine. Called SJ police non emergency. Two really nice officers came pretty quickly. They inspected & went inside. I was parked on the first isle about 10 spots down straight out from the front door of target. Almost under one of the signs that says security cameras in use. So you would think that there would be some kind of footages the parking lot. Nope. They tell the officers that the cameras only cover the driveway & barely the first couple cars across from the front door. So all the camera warning signs are bull carp. Luckily for me being in the auto industry, I've built some great contacts & can get it fixed decently cheap, but it's frustrating to know that all those warning cameras in use signs are bunk. Yay a target closer to me! The location is great because it's in a plaza with a ton of other convenient shops like Marshalls, PetCo and Safeway. The parking lot is always crowded so that is a major downside. There are often always people out front soliciting or hitting on people as well (as J.J's review said: "quickly turning ghetto"). The lines are often longer here than other spots. I never liked their check-out stand configuration where there are registers in front of other ones and it looks like you're cutting if you're walking toward the front register. I always come to Target to get my dogs Pedigree chopped chicken and rice canned food. He only eats ONE kind of wet dog food (no other flavor, not even the chopped beef and rice). Luckily, Target sells this stuff for under $1 per can. read more

Dearest Target, I love you BUT... this store sucks! This shopping center is not that old and it's in a nice area with lot's of new apartment complex's, condo's and good restaurant's so I don't understand why it is not always stocked properly and why management has not up'd their game. I go to Target at the Plant shopping center mind you the area is not so nice but they have their sh** together. Every time we have tried shopping at the Cottle Target we have a negative experience the bathroom's are always dirty, the customer service sucks, the store is messy and never stocked well, they are always out of grocery bags. My boyfriend and I wen't one day and we picked up quite a few things we needed for the house and they had run out of bags, this actually has happened a few time's like who is handling ordering for the store or who take's inventory? This location keeps me coming back again and again and I don't even live close to this one. From optical department bending my frames back into place after they've been through a rough day to Starbucks always getting my drinks perfect. Today, I started my day of shopping with a return and to get my glasses fixed. Considering I could get them both done at the same location this should be a quick trip right?? Wrong, it turned out to take much longer as I had to travel to a different store then back to this one. Tired, hot and not wanting to drive all over San Jose to get this done I asked to speak with a manager.
