Super horrible customer service train your employees not to yell at customers. Common sense

So basically if you have a mobility issue, this target would like to invite you to f*** right off. The bench near the pharmacy was covered in trash and blocked by carts full of stock and a forklift. BF needs a cane to walk and frequent sitting, this was really annoying. Also there were about five carts with locked wheels blocking exits and aisles in the mall side if the store. Most if the aisles were hard or impossible to navigate because carts full of stock but were cluttered in and out of the aisles. It was a mess read more

Totally bogus. I purchased item online with PayPal for pickup at Westgate Target. Didn't end up picking up item so it was cancelled, but they issued me a refund in a Target e-gift card. What? They did not issue refund back to PayPal, but unilaterally gave me an e-gift card. How bogus is that? I only discovered this a month later that an email was buried in my Spam folder telling me the refund was issued to an e-gift card. Target, I know you guys are desperate in this COVID-19 times, but shame on you. This is unethical and borderline illegal. I may have never found that email and I could have forgotten about the $110 you tried to cheat me out of. read more

This review is in reference to their in-store pickup, which I am rating between 1 and 2 stars, mainly because of a very flawed execution of the bag refund operation. As you may know, stores are required to charge for plastic bags within the county. If you use a bag in the store, they charge 10 cents; however, if you buy online, they charge $1...there is no opt out of the charge online; however, you can ask for the refund when you pick up the item, and if you remember. In almost every case where we have asked for the $1 refund (because we used our own bag), we eventually received a 10-cent refund instead, and had to contact customer service to correct. We have left feedback for them to correct this repeating error, and we even ask the associate to confirm the refund to be $1, but it keeps coming back as a 10-cent refund. Because this has been going on for over a year, I almost feel like they are counting on customers to not complain and just put up with this quirk. read more

The white girl that's a security guard needs a different job. I was looking at planners and couldn't decide so I was standing there awhile. That's my own business. I could tell workers were starting to watch me and work around me so I decided not to take the planners. As I'm walking out the security literally is sweating coming towards me but when I go through the security scans from the mall entrance she stops and goes on her radio saying "she tried it" . Ma'am who are you talking to? Is this a gossip topic? And No I actually didn't and I don't appreciate being profiled nor watched and almost chased out of the store because you felt like fixating on me. I have been holding off on doing a review because I knew it would be extremely long... I most definitely feel ready now to fully describe what a shitty target this is. I've lived down the street from target for a little over 5years now. The blonde security girl always seems to be a little too interested in my shopping trip... I do go to target often, too often. I sometimes go daily, sometimes weekly. I'm there more than a couple times a month. Yet every time I've noticed security not knowing how to properly do their jobs. Selection going straight to a cart doesn't mean you have a code 5 buddies, LOL. The customer service is non existent, I am the kind of shopper who rarely ever asks any questions and will instead scan things on the target circle app myself or view stock options on the app. The few times I've asked, I've gotten one word answers or a "i don't know" and they've all just walked away right afterwards without concern of customer satisfaction. I've also gone in an hour before closing, -AN HOUR- and an employee told my mom she was exhausted and hated customer coming in towards closing time. She just kept complaining and we felt awkward... I believe no matter what store you're working in, your customer service must be somewhat decent--other wise look for another job and do NOT work in a customer service based environment. Common sense. Now for their phone etiquette.... YIKES. I can never seem to get through. It rings a few times then *click* call ended. I understand if it's busy, pick up the phone and say "hello, may I put you on a brief hold". Multitask accordingly people! Overall, if you know what you want/need and you're going for a in-out trip, then great! If you have a few questions and are unsure of whatever it might be-- don't expect the employees to help. Multiple times I've gone in there were absolutely no carts inside. They were all outside still. So I just have to carry everything. Which makes it difficult when I have a long shopping list. And it is very very dirty. So many times I had to put a clothing item back because it has dirt all over it. You think they would notice these things while stocking so clearly they aren't paying much attention. Last time I went I used their bathroom for the first time and it was so gross. The entire floor was covered in dirty footprints, toilet paper all over the floor in every single stall, it looked like it hasn't been cleaned in days. Lastly the customer service isn't very great. Not very friendly employees. I prefer the Hillsdale ave location over this one. read more

Worse after the remodel. Normally I love Target stores but this place went from 4 stars to 2.5 stars after the remodel. On the plus side, it's cleaner and newer. On the negatives, the staff and management has gotten so much worse. Did they hire a less competent manager? Are the newer employees paid and trained less? It makes me suspect the real reason for the renovation was to fire the experienced staff and to replace them with cheaper, less experienced, less motivated, less professional replacements. The layout is disorganized, stuff is out of stock and in the wrong place (this was even before the pandemic), the staff are less trained and less helpful. A few staff members are fantastic, but many of them I swear are actually trying to be unhelpful. Oh yeah, and they increase the prices here! Check the website for a price match because they often jack up the price 30% and sometimes even 100% "just for us." read more

This Target was recently remodeled and it looks great! It has over the years become my go-to spot for clothes, makeup, accessories, gifts, cards, home decor, and so many other things. The lines to check out can get a little long, but it's still worth the wait to be able to stop into one store and get all of your errands done. This location is well-organized, clean, and stocked. Staff are friendly and helpful, and parking is a breeze with how big the lots are. Beware this Target has a ridiculous policy to not bag your purchases for you, if you are using your own bags. They'd rather force you to do the non-enviromentally conscience thing and use their plastic bags in order to get their assistance and speed up the line. It's totally nuts! My bags are actually boxes with handles, so the cashier doesn't need to hold open or touch them. Instead they place my groceries next to the open box?!? While I'm still hastily trying to put stuff on the converbelt, the scanned items are stacking up. I was told due to Covid they can't touch our bags!?! BUT they can touch the goods that I am purchasing AFTER I've already touched them JUST LIKE MY BAGS!?!? So stupidly inefficient and poor customer service. On another note, they have a habit of missing the red security tags on clothing. YouTube how to remove them when you get home. So annoying. read more

I did the "order online and drive by" option online. This is the closest location to my home. I ordered 6 different items to give as a gift for a baby shower. I got a notification about an hour later that my order was ready for pickup, but 3 of my items were out of stock. I was a bit frustrated because, now, I had to go inside and find other items to replace them with. When I went inside, I found one of the 3 items that they listed as "out of stock". Not only did they have 1 in stock, but they had a row hanging. This has me assume that 1) they didn't really look for it and 2) they didn't check their inventory using their electronic resources. Besides my online order, their store seems to always be renovating and they have a small selection of inventory for school supplies. read more

Placed an order for pick up. I needed to extend the pick up date. The app wasn't working so I tried calling the store. No one answers the phone. I called 10 times tried five different departments the phone just rings and rings and rings until eventually it disconnects. I know the store is open as it's during open hours. Giving this particular location 4 stars because it's very near and dear to my heart as this is the Tar-je I frequented when I went to high school nearby. It's a two story Target that is considered on the larger side of the Target spectrum. I remember when this Target used to be a big deal when it first opened as Target as a whole was just coming straight out of the gates onto the mass merchandise scene. It's usually well stocked and clean for the most part. I usually prefer to go to targets that are only one story simply because I think it's a hassle to go up and down when you forget something. It's also conveniently located in Westgate shopping mall so you can do some additional shopping. The parking here can be a little hit or miss as the lots surrounding the Target end are on the smaller side. read more

Attempted to locate an appliance at x3 Targets in my area. Online 2 Target stores indicated that they had 1 item left and the 3rd Target in my area supposedly had x2 of the item in stock at the store. Before I left for the first Target in my area, I attempted to phone them to make sure that they definitely had the item in stock. Unfortunately no one answered the phone and I tried every department. So I drove to the Target and the item I was looking for was not in stock at the store. So I called Target #2 in my area and of course no one picked up the phone, so I drove the this store and again, online indicated that it was in stock, although the store did not have the item. Sooooo, on to Target #3 in my area and of course, no one answered the phone there and once I arrived, they were supposed to have x2 of the appliance I was looking for and once again, the store had zero in stock. At this point as asked the sales person what the issue was with their online inventory system and he just shrugged his shoulders. I the asked him why nobody in Targetville answers their phone and again, he just shrugged his shoulders and apologized. Unfortunately I'm this day and age, this is classic customer-no-service and precisely why from now on I'll just order what I need from the big Amazon in the sky. In good time, retail brick and mortar stores will become a thing of the past like dinosaurs. read more

On days where I really need something random, but it's so late at night that nowhere else is open, this Target saves my life. Not sure why this of all Targets is open so late, as it's attached to a shopping mall? But it is, and I am thankful. Whoever made the decision to have this be open late has my gratitude a million times over. It's also open early, and I often come here to buy last-minute folders for essays or interviews. As for selection, this Target has just about average selection for any Target. I can't really say it has any more or less. Customer service is perfectly fine, not sure why people insist on coming here to complain. The only thing that brings it down a star is the bathrooms. The bathrooms here are filthy, 24/7, 365. You can always count on these bathrooms to be disgusting, and I'm not sure why. Management, pleeeeease set a cleaning schedule or something. Went in prior a little before 9pm to do an exchange, decided to grab my items first so I can just do one transaction and then I can leave. What i thought would be an easy thing apparently wasn't. Went up to exchange at a 9:15pm and two employees approached us asking if we needed help. Told them need to exchange some stuff and they said that it was closed and are no longer taking returns or exchanges. Would've been nice to know that as I was coming in or even announced to us as we were there. Wasted my time even looking for the items I needed. read more

2 LEVELS OF TARGET!!! Favorite branch in the area. The $1 section is stocked with all the fun seasonal stuff, store is clean, plus the staff is super helpful. It's connected to a "mall" that has neat stores and a food court with some good options for a shopper who has the munchies. read more

Wow Target, an 11 am shop for just basics laundry soap, dish soap, TP, tissues. 1 cashier open and self-checkout. 12 people inline and the ONLY cashier turns her light out and is going on a break. She probably deserves her break; my question. WHERE IS MANAGEMENT? If this was the first time this happened I would write a negative review. I love Target, so of course a three star rating is pretty much my starting point. I'm not a fan of the two floor layout in general, and I've found this location to be a little more disorganized and not as efficient as others. They are currently going through the big, company wide remodel, so hopefully they will iron out the kinks soon. My main complaint about this location has to do with the mall entrance. There are no cash registers or carts. It makes it inconvenient if you come in from the mall, and need to exit through the mall. It doesn't help that parking by the main entrance is a pain. First world problems, I know, but even though it's close to my work, I tend to save my shopping for "my" Target. read more

They hired lots of new and young staffs like 18 or early 20s. They were very undertrained and insufficient on their system operation. They didn't even know how to problem solve the scanner's tech issue and poorly performed their duties. I hope Mgmt can help them improve their training. read more

Because they don't have zero. The new footprint of the store is ludicrous. Who puts the alcohol right by the exit where kids can just run out with I'll gotten gains? Just saying. That said, I was at the store at about 3:30 PM today and although they were probably 12 to 15 customers in line there were only two cashiers. One got stuck trying to figure out a coupon, and the other stopped to help her. The rest of us waited for about 5 minutes until they figured it out. By now there's about 20 to 25 people in line and they open up another cashier. I'm next in line, and the person who guides us to cashiers, comes up and says "go to this line". But by the time I get there I am now fifth in line... this happened twice. I asked him why it happened and he shrugs and says other people ran ahead of you. Great customer service. I get to the cashier, and hand her some greeting cards and a gift card and tell her the amount I want. She has to ask me three times the amount. Then she totals me out even though I have a whole belt-load of groceries. I pointed and said,"those are mine", and she says indignantly, "well how would I know that?" She says, @I didn't put the divider there", and I say, "no but you didn't remove the one from the last transaction". She just scowls. Now she just seems mad, and asks me if I want bags. I said, "Yes, please". Each time she fills a bag, she would say, "Do you want another?" I said "Yes, as many as it takes, please". That apparently didn't satisfy her as she seemed miffed every she offered me another bag. She tells me not to be upset, and I say, "I've been in line for 20 minutes just to receive crappy customer service", and she says, "don't blame me, I've only been here five minutes". At no time did I criticize her directly or raise my voice. She is not wearing a name tag, and I ask if that is not part of the uniform. She ignores me and tells me that she hopes I have a better day. Target has an amazing camera system with facial recognition software. I'm sure that all of this was caught on camera. I was in lane 8 I believe. There's a video available called "give them the pickle", from the founder of Farrell's Ice Cream. I have no fiduciary interest in this, but perhaps you could share with your employees and explain to them what customer service is. Many of them simply do not get it. I came in very late on Saturday. I found a nice small bamboo table that was perfect. The only place people there know about a product and the price for an unmarked one, would be in Guest Services. And, Ken got good old me, who wanted that little table. Being that there were a lot of items on the computer from that department, he called on Tomas, who came right over. They both found a price. And, Tomas walked me over to ring it up for me. It was great to be treated really nicely by Ken and Tomas, when the store was already closed. Thank you Ken and Tomas. read more

I love this Target. But the managers here suck. Usually grumpy or less than thrilled to help out. And tonight, while people are doing their Xmas shopping, they close the entire top floor over 30 minutes before closing just rush people out. I get it. It's holidays. Workers are probably tired. But F that. Honor your store hours. Turning people away and almost laughing in their face while telling "well we are closing in 30 minutes". Ya, so you're still open now. I saw a young couple just wanting to pick up a toy for their kids and knew exactly where the item was thanks to the app, get shooed off like they were interrupting. I'm not going to go to any target store for tech accessories anymore. They're clearly refurbished, repackaged poorly, sold as new and don't last very long. I've bought so many iPhone chargers and what not that have clearly been opened again, looks sloppily put back together, and even with burn marks like the product I bought today. I bought two of these wireless chargers, I took one out of the packaging and noticed the same old same old. Target repackaging their tech accessories and listing them as new. So I wasn't the only one who had a bitter experience I see. I was TOLD not to waste foods when I tried to return my packaged coffee. The guy stamped stickers ('not for sale' kind?) on my purchase right at my nose telling me the store couldn't sell my returned merchandise any longer blah blah. At the back of my head, I was saying why are you doing this is it cuz no one's around or do I look introvert n weak n fat n fuxxy? Honestly, I'd like a little more respect as a shareholder, also realized at the same time I'm hurting my investment hahaha. But such loss (made by some stupid customer/investor) is already included in the price, right? I haven't had a bad customer service with malice since Lehman. The guy even said he didn't understand my English. Really? yeah I'm a foreigner alright, but then, why did you give me a lecture if you think I didn't understand? I won't shop here back ever again. After all,.there're others with exactly the same with better service. I think this Target is closing cuz the renovation they say is taking too much time, so there must be something wrong, and the attitude of the employees indicate that. I went into the store today and I worked with Alexa to solve a problem I was dealing with. She was warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. She provided great recommendations, and I watched her diffuse a customer who refused to wear a mask. The customer was extremely demeaning and was yelling at her. She kept her cool (even when she didn't have to) and was wonderful. Any organization would be lucky to have her! read more

My credit card was stolen from this location at the self checkout terminals. I will never shop inside a target again. Their prices have well exceed Amazon and their shelves are empty. Getting my information stolen years ago, then credit card fraud all to leave with my list still have full. Not acceptable. Afraid of what is next with them! PS.
