When I returned an hour later, they'd changed the oil and rotated the tires but hadn't addressed the warning light, meaning I had to go home and come back later (I had obligations). This was a minor inconvenience for me, but the service technician handled it very professionally, He quickly addressed the problem, called to apologize profusely, admitted he'd forgotten to write down my request to fix the warning light, and cut 50% from my service bill. This dealer teaches its staff good values, including caring for customers and taking ownership of errors. I bought my Mustang new here in 2010 and have never taken it anywhere else for service. I never will go elsewhere - they are the best! Thanks!

It's a very long story, but essentially there was an issue with the car I intended to purchase, and I appreciate that they were honest with me about it up front rather than trying to cover it up just to close the deal and make the sale. They have integrity here. I was then going to get a different car color, but then some things in my personal life came up that put everything on hold for a few weeks. By the time I was ready to get a car, they didn't have the one I wanted in stock, but another dealership that was even closer to me did, so instead of waiting for a dealer trade I went ahead with the other dealership. But, everyone at Highland Park was great - I worked with Ken and Daniel and they were very accommodating and patient, and it's very low-pressure here. A lot of people complain on here about the "Lexus Plus" no-haggle setup, but in all my extensive research and trying to get other dealers to negotiate, HP's pricing was extremely fair and most other dealerships "best and final" offer was higher than HP's set pricing. It was also extremely straight-forward in terms of the one-person from start to finish process. The dealership is also very nice inside, which I would expect from Lexus, but wasn't always the case at other Lexus dealerships. Everyone I interacted with was kind and helpful, so this place does take some of the stress out of a car buying.

While the sales associate handled the initial showroom transaction politely, the post-sale administrative handling and upper-management conduct fell completely below basic industry, legal, and consumer standards. **Improper Plate Transfer:** At delivery, dealership staff transferred and mounted my Nebraska personalized plates ("J STYLE") onto the new vehicle. They assured me this was legal, despite my explicit objections that the plates belonged to my trade-in vehicle. **82-Day Loss of Legal Use:** Due to administrative mishandling and an original title reportedly lost in transit, the paperwork did not arrive until late Friday, July 3, 2026. Because of the holiday weekend, the vehicle could not be legally registered until Monday, July 6, 2026, depriving me of lawful use for 82 days. **Dismissive Management:** Sales Director Julio Gomez characterized an 82-day delay as "normal" and recklessly advised me to simply "show a police officer the bill of sale" if stopped while driving across state lines. **Documented Financial Losses:** Operating out of state with mismatched registration created serious legal, citation, and insurance risks. I was forced to cancel a planned road trip, incurring $1,800 in nonrefundable airline and travel expenses, while continuing to pay insurance and monthly loan installments on a vehicle that had to remain parked. **Broken Executive Commitments:** Mr. Gomez acknowledged the failure and promised a goodwill compensation package once the paperwork arrived. After the paperwork was received on July 3, Mr. Gomez, Director Julian Keller, General Manager Benjamin Nusinow, and Owner/Dealer Principal Alan Nusinow ceased all communication. They refused to answer calls, return emails, or honor their commitment. A luxury-car buyer should never face months of legal vulnerability, out-of-pocket financial damage, and complete abandonment by ownership once the funds have cleared. This matter has been escalated to Lexus Corporate and formally submitted to the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Bureau. But their values are so humane too, which goes above and beyond any mechanic, much less any vendor. They hire special needs adults and do on the job training with patience, repetitiveness, and care. When this auto shop first opened in Northbrook years ago, I was very excited because I thought "yay...I don't have to take my car to my dealership anymore" since I felt I was always overcharged for their parts and services". Heart was a little bit cheaper than my dealership so I was happy to give them my business. The front desk people were always friendly over the phone and in person and they were never pushy. My issue with them is regarding their honesty. I urgently needed a new car battery 3 years ago (2023). I called them on a Friday afternoon to check if they had a car battery for my particular make/model/year in stock. I was told they had it in stock and to bring in my car first thing Saturday morning. I was able to drive my car to their shop the next morning and the store manager at the time made sure that I got a new battery right then and there. He even called me the next day to make sure my battery was working fine. WOW! I was truly amazed by this high level of customer service. I've never had anyone from my dealership call me to check in. So over the next few years, I kept going to Heart for other services and was a very satisfied customer until today (Sept 2026). We needed to replace our car battery today since it was leaking and my husband decided to replace it himself. We went to Costco to purchase the new battery and bring in the old battery (for disposal) and what did we notice today? Heart installed the WRONG size car battery in my car 3 years ago!!!!!!! The Costco employee at the tire center was like "Is this the car battery that was in your car?" due to the obvious size difference between the battery we were going to buy at Costco and the one installed at Heart! Seriously? Not sure if the wrong size affected my car since it was jiggling under the hood all this time! Yes, my car drove fine with the wrong size battery all this time, but they installed the wrong size! The casing for the battery was TOO SMALL!!! They probably don't expect most customers to go under their hood and inspect or change the battery themselves so they probably didn't think we would notice the size difference! VERY DISAPPOINTED! They could have mentioned to me that the car battery they installed was a little bit smaller in size but not to worry since it wouldn't affect my car. A heads up about this would've been nice. But nope....no mention at all! They lost our business. We will never go to them again for any service!

I had a problem with a loose front grill that locked it up. A guy named Adrian did and he got my oil changed for me. He really seemed like he wanted to help in any way he could. He saw the front grill was locked up so he screwed it in place again for me so it's solid now. He was under the car and saw someone put the skid plate back on with a zip tie. Adrian screwed that on for me. Both times he did this for NO CHARGE. He really wanted to help. I found out he is only 18 years old and just got out of tech school but knows about German cars. I was very impressed with Adrian and will be bringing my Toyota 4 Runner to him this Monday to get an oil change. I would highly recommend this place and especially Adrian if you want that old fashioned kind of caring in customer service.

Buyer beware! A pre-owned purchase can be perilous…read more The staff is generally arrogant and at times, confrontational. Virtually no negotation. Had to pay for shipment of purchased car- no problem. But they also made me pay for shipment of my trade-in. No concession. The car I purchased was a nearly new 2025 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS. It was fully certified by Porsche (CPO). I also had the dealership install PPF on the front of the car ($3000). The car was shipped 1000 miles to my home in the northeast. Upon arrival I saw that the front bumper had been drilled for a license plate frame....and that the film has just been put over the four holes! After much discourse, the pre-owned manager finally agreed to reimburse me for a portion of the PPF. But they would not cover the cost to repair the actual holes. Then they sent me photos from their original listing of the car on their wedbite where about six pixels showed what could barely be made out as drilled holes. "You should have looked at the pictures more closely", said the pre-owned manager. Do you think they should have disclosed the fact that the car had been drilled? I do. But then, they would have had to repair them...or sell the car for less. This dealership is not about customer relations. It's a 100% bottom dollar operation. And Porsche will not help you either should you have similar sitation. While the CPO report shows "no body damage". It does not consider holes drilled into the car to be an issue. Summary: N E V E R buy a pre-owned car from this dealership unless you either inspect it yourself, or pay for a full PPI.

Twice when Service indicated that they ordered a part, I was never contacted when the part came in. I followed up with the Service Department, and not only did they not know if the part was there, they asked me to call the Parts Department to find out if they had the part (shouldn't Service do that?!?) Because I have been dissatisfied with the Service Department, I tried to go somewhere else to have a suspension issue repaired, but was told by other mechanics that Jeep needed to complete the repair. For the second time, it took weeks to get an appointment, in the most recent case 5 weeks. I was told that I should get a loaner because they couldn't tell how long the repair would take (despite the written estimate stating it was 4 hours of labor), I explained that I need to drop it off the evening before the repair and was assured a loaner car would be available. When I called the day of to confirm, they were unsure if a loaner would be available. When I learned that the appointment was 5 weeks out, I asked if it was OK to continue to drive the car during this time, they had no idea! Getting this repair, selling the car and going elsewhere.
