I come out of my way to go to this bakery. They have such a large variety of Turkish desserts and baked goods that it's definitely worth going a little bit out of your way to stop there. We really enjoy having the occasional meat borek and sulu (watery in Turkish) borek on the weekends. I would say Taskin does this very well. You have the option of pre packed borek or freshly made, cut/packed to order. We usually pick up freshly made and ask for the amount we feel like ordering. Price is determined by weight. They have numerous types of breakfast and dessert choices, all sweeter than the next. The interior is nicely decorated and clean. The only downfall is parking. Spaces are limited and it can get packed during peak hours. Staff is helpful in answering questions and explaining what everything is. read more

Beautiful, large space. Perfect place for an after dinner date or a place to hang out with friends for a cup of coffee. The breads, pastries and desserts look so delicious. This bakery is my absolutely favorite! First off - they are open 24-7!! Whaaaaat! Their breads, loaves, and pastries are all freshly made - each day! In the mornings, you can catch a glimpse of someone actually making the goods When you walk in, it immediately smells like loaf heaven! Came around 7PM on Friday night just to get a quick dessert. Bread, baklava, cakes, coffee, tea, etc. all available 24/7 which is cool. Place was packed. Staff was friendly even let us try a dessert to see if we liked it before we bought. They have a private parking lot with valet if needed. The valet attendant was super nice and friendly! Swing over here for a quick pit stop on my way into Paterson - I'm unclear on when and if Simit Sarayi will open post-COVID, so wanted to make sure I took the opportunity to grab some of my favorite Turkish baked goods. Delicious, soft simits with a very flavorful layer of sesame seeds were the highlight, followed by the olive roll. I also tried a few of the pagocas - a lovely mix of cheese and dill, although I'm always biased towards these having even more filling and flavor. Not sure what changed and when, but service and quality def has decreased with an increase in prices. Servers behind the food counters are so rude and disinterested in the customer. Who doesn't love carbs? I felt like I was a kid in the candy store when I walked in here. A huge place filled with so many different types of carbs! I literally did not know where to start! I left a great review about 3 years ago and I swear the customers increased by over100% and the outcome was disastrous, add the raise in prices and everything suffers. The most important is the quality, never did I had to throw anything away but couple of times I was given items hard as a rock and in at least 1 occasion it had mold, and that's very upsetting when you pay $4.00 for a cookie. All the awesome staff are gone, they had become my friends. No longer friendly. All the prizes went up after they changed their display cases. The worse is that with the rise in prices they also cut down on amount of the filling in the pastries. For example, today I bought a beef borek pastry with h hardly any meat, same with the almond croissant. The Mother cookies that supposedly had pistachios, doesn't have any, a rice pudding that I pay $4 any other place, is over $7. In general this place us no longer what it used to be. I used to go there everyday and always spent over $20 ea. time, now, about once every 2 kws. I no longer get a free coffee once in a while because the servers are no longer friendly nor take the time to know me. I lost my favorite bakery. read more

Yelp led me here! And who doesn't like a 24/7 cafe? Especially with one that serves a variety of delightful carbs! Like baklavas by the pounds, little Turkish pastries & savory breads showcased on the walls. It's also got coffees & teas. Tried their Turkish coffee with a nice set up served with a Turkish delight & a small cup of water. The dark coffee perfectly matches with the baklavas. Wish the cup was a bit larger tho because the grind accommodated a bit more than 1/4 of that tiny cup. The baklavas have so0o many different kinds: walnut, pistachio, bird nest-looking kinds, pistach & cream... all just dazzling drenched in honey. I first tried the pistach with cream baklava and a mint creme filled pastry that looked like a cream puff. Baklava was enjoyably not oversweet, just satisfied my bliss point and the cream puffie was just as good. For seconds (!!) I had to get another pistach & cream and try the bird's nest looking one that had pistach on it... o0omagaa fo0odgasm for sure haha It's hard to control your low-sugar diet here. While their breads and simit continue to be exceptional., lately their change of staff along with their upgrading of cashier machines somehow made this used to be a welcoming place to be much less so. Last night around 9:30 pm, I went in and bought 5 items. At the cashier, the guy punched the items in and an apparent wrong number jumped out which was $41 on the screen. I murmured "what?" and he then changed and made it to be $28,89. In the haste, I tapped my card without giving much further thought despite some suspicion about the unusual "expensiveness" of the sum. Only after I drove home and took a look at the receipt (as shown in the picture), then I realized that the guy over charged me by $8, listed as "custom item". Even though I felt robbed and disgusted, I wonder if it is worth the while to drive back today to dispute it, due to the cost of gas to drive back. Do not fall for very good looking pastry shop that is full of all kinds of bakery that after you bring them home they taste nothing good at all. This bakery used to be much better but not anymore. Simit the Turkish bagel like pastry is not what it should taste normally. it has no taste at all. Any pastry I bought recently no taste. The dough should have some nice taste but not in this bakery. The staff is so rude, they don't help you if you even in line for long waiting. Believe me I ate Turkish pastry at Turkey for long time this place is the waste of money and no taste at all. However it Doesn't have Kunefe and Turkish tea is really not like you can get at AlBasha or Yasmeen. And customer service is really not good. Customers are your most prized asset. Learn to be nice. This our favorite Turkish bakery in the Bergen county. We have not sat here for more than 2 years due to the pandemic but it is still a great place to pick up a great variety of authentic bake goods. Simit; Turkish braided bagels dipped in diluted molasses syrup then sesame seeds. WOW! I'm only sorry I've lived in Jersey for most of my life and haven't been here earlier. The space is roomy and modern with beautiful carb-Laden treats scattered throughout. Amazing selection of Turkish breads and sweets - I can't say that I knew what half the things were, but it felt like my kind of playground ! We ordered a pistachio kadayif and a potato pogaca. First time here and I gotta say the trip was worth it. The ambiance is so dope, high ceilings, natural lighting and seating. From the minute you walk in there's fresh bread to the left and pastries. I purchased a banana cake, a baklava with cream filling, cheese and strawberry croissant and a Turkish baked pudding. Everything taste fresh and delicious. Taskin, Taskin, Taskin........if I could only understand why you choose to use too much dough in your boreks and pogacas. Taskin is an OK substitute for the bakery foods you miss from Turkey. The breads are very good, but everything else is made very different than what you find in Turkey. Take the simple pogaca for example, it is light and airy when made the way everyone makes it in Turkey, but Taskin insists on using too much dough and making it very dense. They claim they were bakers in Turkey but I have a very hard time believing that since no one would eat their American sized, dough excessive foods in Turkey. Even the guy selling pogaca and acma on the streets makes it ten times better than Taskin. Hell, even I make it better from home. Great way to get your Turkish bakery fix in America, but you will still be left longing for the authentic stuff. Taskin doesn't seem to want to replicate baked goods from Turkey. read more
