Taste as its name suggests.... It's all about flavors. This restaurant has become a mandatory stop every time I'm in Las Vegas. This place delivers consistency, quality, and taste that lingers. Their private dining rooms are perfect for big gatherings -- spacious, comfortable, and ideal for celebrating with a group and singing karaoke. The seafood is always impressively fresh, and the kitchen handles every preparation style flawlessly, from delicate steamed dishes to bold wok‑fried favorites. And don't forget the Peking duck. The table‑side carving is a show in itself, but the flavor is what keeps me coming back. Perfectly crisp skin, juicy meat, and all the traditional accompaniments done right. It's a must‑order, no matter the size of your party.Taste Chinese is one of those rare restaurants that anchors my Vegas trips. If you want exceptional Chinese cuisine with top‑tier service, this is the place to go.
I like this authentic Chinese restaurant located in the southwest side of town. This place is great for large groups. I've been here a few times, and I haven't had anything bad here. You know you're in an authentic Chinese restaurant when they serve a complimentary pot of hot tea. We decided to try the ginger and scallion lobster. The lobsters are live, and the server will show you the lobster before they cook it. You have the option to select the size lobster you want. The lobster was cooked and prepared cut and easy to remove the shell and eat. We ordered the smallest lobster, but it was more than enough for the both of us to share. We also had beef and broccoli to share. It had the perfect amount of sauce, which wasn't overpowering like most places. Again, I haven't had anything bad here. Their menu includes a lot of offerings. One of my favorite places for authentic Chinese food.
I don't know what they put inside the food, but some of their dishes are so outstanding. I will be thinking about it for almost a week after I've had it. I first tried this place when I attended a graduation ceremony for a friend and they had everything ordered family style so I got to try and array of items. I have been back at least three times after that since some of the items were very hard to get out of my mind. There's this one noodle dish that is so freaking good. I just couldn't stop thinking about it and I've gone back several times and it has tasted as good almost every time another item that is a no fail item will be their roast duck. I had the super fancy expensive Peking duck for the friends event, but even the regular roast duck is absolutely delicious. There's something about the marinade that they've already injected into the meat that makes it taste so good. Other notable item would be there garlic, sautéed snow pea stems. It's a seasonal item so you need to ask. Price is kinda high. Easily the bill goes beyond $100 for two when I eat here. But also, we're fatties that don't know how to commit to just 2-3 dishes. You will certainly have leftovers to last you all week though. This spot is probably my current fave for roast duck/peking duck and my fave dine-in Chinese restaurant on this side of town.
This place is a gem. It gave the fine dining vibes when we walked in. It was open and spacious. My cousin's daughter had her wedding reception here and we were amazed. The theme was Chinese so all the tables were decorated in red table cloth. We were served a 10 course meals complete with Cantonese style lobsters. To the side they had a boba station set up. In their private room they had a Photo Booth set up. Anyhow even when it's not special occasions I highly recommend this venue. Their Chinese food are authentic and well presented, not to mention tasty and good portion. Service is superb. The servers kept up with us ordering and constantly switching out our plates for cleaner ones and bringing us drinks and removing empty plates. Thank you for your service! I will recommend this Chinese restaurant to anyone!
This was my first time at Taste. My Mother-In Law chose it for our family dinner. As soon as I walked in I was very impressed with the decor. There is a beautiful round crystal chandelier in the entryway that is very well kept. The artwork and lighting is very modern except for the one art piece with the horses. It seemed a little out of place. We were thinking that it maybe for the year of the horse. It is very clean as well. I left the ordering to them and just asked for Beef Chow Fun. I know I can eat that dish with my allergies. It was delicious too. To my surprise I was able to eat some more of the dishes they chose. Yay! The Clams with Black Bean Sauce had peppers and onions in it. It was very good. Next was the Eggplant with Garlic Sauce in Casserole. This is a dish that I order every time I see it on any menu. This and a bowl of rice and I can survive anything life throws at me. This is a little bit of a cheat for my allergy but I'll take the risk. I'll take the rash and walk around looking like I'm 6 months pregnant.......... There's more that includes a toilet so I'll leave it out. lol. This dish was the best I've ever had. I've had it in dozens of different restaurants but this is the best. Please don't miss this one. You will regret it. The eggplant is tender yet not mushy and the sauce is perfection. Definitely get rice. The sauce with steamed rice is so good. The server came by and asked if she could take the plate. There were only a couple of bites left and some sauce. I put my hand over the plate with lightning fast reflexes and said no thank you I'm still working on it. I quickly scooped up every last bit and threw it into my bowl of rice. I nonchalantly rubbed the spoon across the rice to get the extra sauce off the bottom. Phew Emergency avoided. The Lobster W/ Ginger and Scallion and E-Fu Noodles. I couldn't have the noodles but I had to have some Lobster. It was fabulous. They said the chef did a great job with the noodles. The noodles took on the flavor of the sauce instead of just being on top of it. I hope that makes sense. The presentation was beautiful too. The Peking Pork Chop was a no go for me. They said I'd was fantastic. I could tell by the way they were eating it that it was something else. I was so jealous. They said the pork was fried perfectly and stayed crispy even though it was covered in the sauce. The pineapples in it didn't really taste like anything but it added to the texture. I decided to have a piece of the pineapple so I could taste the sauce. It was very lacking in the pineapple flavor but it was good because it took on the sweet flavor of the sauce. As I ate another piece I accidentally took a bite of the breading left in the sauce that was the size of a pearl. OMG from that little piece I couldn't tell how amazing that dish must have been. I HATE MY ALLERGY! I turned to my husband and said "It was amazing wasn't it?" He looked down at the floor and said "yes it was." Finally for dessert was the Sweet Red Bean Soup. I don't know if that's what it's called. It's a soup made from sweet azuki beans. Most people know azuki from mochi confections or shaved ice. It was served hot and had pumpkin inside. It was a nice meal with great food and great service in a clean modern dining room. Can't ask for anything more.
Taste is open on Thanksgiving. We opted to order in a variety of food for this year's Thanksgiving and ordered the following after perusing the menu and reviewing others reviews on Yelp. Orange chicken 5/5 comes with a side of white rice Lobster harbor style 5/5, note lobster is market price so check pricing and you get to choose your fresh live lobster from the tank. Pan fried noodles 5/5 served separate when ordered to go so you can mix the broth/gravy with the noodles so they are fresh. To go order took about 35 minutes and Alex was helpful with my questions and pictures of the food I found online. Lots of tables inside the restaurant and all were packed for the holiday. Thanks, Taste, for helping round out our family style dinner!
One of the go-to places for authentic Chinese food in SW Las Vegas Pros - large interior with private rooms for large parties. Very fresh market priced seafood and a wide variety of food selections. Very fast and friendly service. Amazing place for large family dinners Cons - none! Definitely check this place out for an authentic Chinese family meal. Always packed so make a reservation!
Delicious Cantonese food. The string beans were perfect. The dungeoness crab also worth getting. Nice clean place if you crave traditional Chinese flavors.
Before checking into our hotel on the strip, we stopped by this Chinese restaurant recommended by our friend. My husband and I were nicely greeted and sat down as soon as we opened the doors. They had a variation of food items to choose from but we mostly stuck with meat options--what caught our eyes was the diced ribeye french style, roasted pork, mapo tofu with minced pork, and yang zhou fried rice. All the dishes we ordered were delicious! It was husband approved and the price point was average. If you're looking for some Chinese food not on the strip, I would highly recommend this place.
Always a great meal here! Delicious and authentic Cantonese Chinese food. They also have the staple Asian American dishes. Everything is sooo good, super fresh and flavorful. The portions are large and are meant for family style. I come here pretty often and it's great for large parities. Service is good and the restaurant is can get quite busy. I haven't disliked any of the dishes I've ordered. The restaurant is clean and has a good vibe. Definitely give this place a try!
We got to Taste at 6:30 on Sat night and were pleasantly surprised that our party of 4 got seated right away. By 7:30 all the tables were taken. Every dish we had was so flavorful! I would get everything again with the exception of the crispy salmon skin and egg yolk. This is only due to the texture. I was expecting the good crunch of a salmon skin that is like a salmon skin in sushi. It was a little crispy, but more chewy. Lots of flavor, but not my jam. Also I think it would be a lot unless you have many people to share it with. We have been to Taste several times and it is always a satisfying tasty meal. We like to come with at least a party of 4 so we can get more dishes to enjoy without much leftover.
Yes. Amazing menu items and everything I would want in taking my family here. It's packed here for good reason because the food is so great, you might have to wait a while for a table. It's a smaller dining area but clean and fine nonetheless.
We had a fantastic meal here. Our group of seven enjoyed the Peking duck and the lobster, but my favorite dishes were some of the less expensive options, especially the tender salt and pepper calamari, the melting eggplant and garlic casserole, the string beans, and the cumin lamb. This is a great place to come with a big group. Most of the tables accommodate eight or more. It's definitely worth the drive if this isn't your neck of the woods. If Taste is indicative of the Asian restaurants springing up in the Southwest, they're going to give the original Chinatown a run for their money.

Taste is an authentic Cantonese restaurant! It's located off of the Rainbow/215 exit, about 15 minutes from the strip. This restaurant specializes in a variety of dishes. However, it's most known for the Asian BBQ and live seafood! We took my father out to Taste for Father's Day lunch, as soon as it opened around 11:00 A.M! We had got there a little bit early, around 10:50 A.M. I'm glad we did because there were a lot of other people lined up and ready to eat at Taste! Current hours are from Monday-Sunday from 11:00 A.M - 10:00 P.M. The restaurant is stunning! The tables are covered with cloth, and all had pre-set dishes already organized! Some of the tables had a glass swivel in the middle, which would allow for easy sharing! Once we sat down, waters were provided with menus. We waited about 10 minutes until we placed our order. We ordered the following dishes Minute Chicken Cake Noodle Beef and Broccoli [2] Item Combo with Roast Pork and Char Siu Kau yuk Stir Fried Noodle w/ Soy Sauce It was busy inside, so the service was slightly slow. The first dishes that came out to the table were the [2] item combo, roast pork and char siu, with the beef and broccoli and the stir fried noodles. Everything was delicious! There was a lot of beef in the beef and broccoli! The beef was tender and didn't have too much sauce on it! There were also large broccoli pieces! You could tell that it was freshly cooked and not frozen! The stir-fried noodles were scrumptious! My daughter enjoyed the noodles and the beef! After about 15 minutes, the Kau Yuk and the Minute Chicken Cake noodle arrived at the table. The Kau Yuk is a braised pork belly with taro. It was good, with lots of flavor of the star anise. The meat was very tender! The Minute Chicken Cake Noodle was decent! The prices were expensive here, but the food was delicious! It's a long drive from our residence, but I would stop here again if I was in the area! read more
There are not too many Chinese places that I know of in the Southwest, but this is one of the more traditional style types that I'm used to. But traditional I mean huge tables with a big lazy susan in the middle for sharing purposes. When you walk in, you see a bunch of fish tanks with a lot of live seafood. It's definitely a restaurant you can come to with huge groups where you can share large meals with everyone. We came here for the Peking Duck, and it was definitely worth the experience. There are not too many places off the strip that offer this, but I say this is a really good place to go to that isn't too expensive. When they serve you, they carve the duck in front of you getting all the crispy skin where you can make your own dish duck bao. Which is truly fresh and worth it just in that. After they're done carving it, they ask you what you'd like made with the remaining parts, which we chose fried rice. It's as simple as t hat. I've actually ordered to-go from this place a lot of times and all of the food we ordered was really good. Sorry for not remembering it but I do know that each dish we got was great. read more

Authentic, clean and flavorful Cantonese restaurant in SW area. I have been coming here since it opened many years ago. This is my first choice for hosting a group Chinese dinner in town. Atmosphere: there are 8-10 big tables and some square tables. They also have a couple private dining rooms with minimum $500. It's clean and spacious inside. Service: all the times I was there, service was quick and on point. No complaints here. When I visit Fam and Friends in LV I always let them take me to an off the strip place ( if you are visiting sin city...you should too....better food and much less $$$). I visited an old friend who had recently moved from San Fran and they took me to Taste...and I was shocked and surprised how good it was. Seriously good peking duck, great soup dumplings, and crazy good noodles. Service is top notch. Ambiance is what you expect from a classic canto place....ah oh well. Great place to dine....go! read more
One of our favorite Cantonese restaurants not in Chinatown part of town. Place do get busy. Great for big groups- best to make reservations. Service is great. They didn't rush us when we were waiting for our group to come in or when we all finished eating. Their Peking duck is great, flavorful, perfect with the steamed bao. The remaining duck is cooked with chestnuts and served a lettuce wrap. All the dishes that we have ordered from the few times we have been here are really good. Some of our favorites are steamed kamkong, hot pot eggplant, salt and pepper shrimp, steamed ginger chicken, and dungenese crabs. They give you a typical Chinese dessert at the end of your meal- tapioca. He have used them before for a big party of 20 people and they put us at their private room. Pricing is reasonable. Place is clean compared to to the ones in Spring Mountain. read more

The service was BAD and NASTY! Food Not good for the price. $70 for duck. Service SUCKSSSS. Main dish Duck was served and after 30 mins no sides dishes were serve. We asked to cancel and the waitress tried to say no. Waitress don't check on our group not once. Restaurant was not full as at all. No reason to be rude. read more

We went there for a small family Chinese New Year Eve Dinner. Beijing Duck is delicious but small. It came with buns instead of pancakes, hoisin sauce, green onions and sliced cucumbers. Sizzling beef is tender and tasty. The pork chops are crispy and delicious. The tofu dish is surprisingly tasty. Service is efficient and effective. read more
Hands down my favorite authentic Chinese restaurant in town. This is a family style restaurant so be aware the portions will be big so there is plenty to share. They have tradition spin tables as well. You are always started with traditional hot tea steaming out the pot. My personal recommendations are : the broccoli beef, soup wontons, pepper steak, and the salt and pepper wings. The staff is always so welcoming and helpful with the menu if you have any questions. read more

The food is amazing and high quality. Nothing bad to say about the food. The service is average and sometimes excellent. The restaurant is crowded on the weekends and in the evenings which is when the service is worse as you would expect. The restaurant is clean and it is tablecloth service. A bit on the spendy side but we keep returning because the food is very good. There are too many good dishes to name them all but some of our favorites are the eggplant casserole, the minced pork green beans, and the crispy chicken. read more

Probably some of the best Chinese food I've recently had in Vegas , although it's so difficult to get a seat in here on weekends during prime lunch/dinner hours. Go early!!! My favorite dish was the General chicken, it had a bit of a hint of spicy and was crispy and so delicious. The beef dry chow fun was also spectacular. The service was fantastic & we had no complaints whatsoever. read more

Came here with a party of 9 on Sunday evening and got seated right away! My brother in law recommended this place since we were craving Asian food. Ambiance is your traditional banquet style Chinese restaurant, the ones you rent part of the restaurant out for a celebration like a birthday, baby shower, etc. I heard they're known for their duck, which I wish we got but only three of us liked duck. So we opted for other dishes. The main ones that stuck out to me were the fried whole chicken, Chinese broccoli, green beans, and orange chicken. Fried whole chicken- this had so much flavor and was super juicy! Chinese broccoli- I loooove Chinese broccoli. This one was sautéed in garlic and very crunchy. I try to supplement my rice intake with veggies when I eat meat heavy meals and I was so content eating loads of this. Green beans- the green beans with pork bits (I think). This was also really good! Orange chicken- You can definitely taste the orange but it was super overpowering and I really liked that the breading of the chicken was super thick. I knocked down a star because the waiters reach over you constantly without saying excuse me or being aware of how close their arms are above your food. One of the waiters also spilled a cup full of ice and never apologized or came back to clean it up. We asked if someone would come back to clean it and she came back around with a stack of napkins and left. Other than that, the food was really good! read more

Review # 300 was a really good one. We celebrated "Another trip around the sun" aka birthday for a special family member. He wanted Peking Duck for his birthday and even had Taste restaurant all picked out. Taste does not take reservations so if your coming on a Friday or Saturday night do yourself a favor and come just shy or just after main dinner hour or you may have to wait a bit to be seated. Taste is very elegant looking inside with big comfortable chairs. We started with vegetable eggrolls and pork dumplings (which the dumplings came a bit later but we were notified in advance at time of ordering). We elected to stick with water and a very earthy possibly a rose hips flavored hot loose tea. For our main we ordered a whole Peking Duck initially cut at our table then the remainder was cut up in back and brought out later. We also ordered a side of Chinese broccoli, honey walnut chicken and sea bass. Yes this was way too much food but we put a major dent in it. The duck came with a side of steamed buns and hoisin sauce. I can honestly say every single "taste" of food I had was incredible (hence the name ..right). I've say every time I have duck that I don't get enough in my diet..and it's true it was so good. Our initial waitress and plenty of floor staff kept our water and hot tea refilled all night and were always around if we needed anything. By the time we left the restaurant was completely full. Taste is an incredible upscale family style Chinese restaurant. I don't think you could go wrong ordering anything here. BTW did I mention the fresh crab and lobster tank with good size offerings... Classic Chinese food with amazing taste. Had gotten a table for 12 during Mother's Day weekend, they were able to seat us and were super helpful. We had ordered duck and lobster. They had table side carving for the duck and showed us the size of the lobster. Both were excellent. The place was spacious to fit large groups. read more

Looking for a good Chinese restaurant. You found the spot. Now the bad news. Like all good restaurants. You got to wait. Was recommended this place. It's a small place with only 15 tables which more than half of them seats 8. So the wait is a little longer due to the larger tables. Okay, the food. It was a cold night so we ordered the chicken porage (rice jook). It's not like you are use to. It was light on the rice and the chicken was the backs. It had slivers of ginger so it gave it a kick. Beef Funn was tasty. It was dark but not salty. Nice meat to noodle ratio. Beef Broccoli was great. Beef was tender and the broccoli was tender and not to soft. Not to saucy. Beef Bitter Mellon black beans. Beef and the bitter mellon where nice and tender. The bitter mellon was not to harsh which is nice. Not to many places serve cake noodle. But it was nice and a good presentation when it came to the table. Pros: Great food. Nice size portions. Tender beef and vegetables. Just the amount of sauce. Cons: Small place. Long wait. Large tables. Would like to see smaller with expanding tables so they can adjust to crowd flow. read more

ARTICULATE ASIAN DINERS It's been years since I had last dined here at this southwest premium Cantonese restaurant. In fact it's long overdue since I'm a friend of one of the lovely sweet tableservers. Her name is Katrina. It only seemed most prudent to go along with popular entrees Katrina had recommended: snowpea, roasted garlic chicken, and roasted pig meat. White table cloths for a crisp clean feel. Oriental art decor but not gaudy. Table service is way above average for an Asian restaurant. Thus, a very good place to meet friends & family or even a quiet meal for two. read more

Sizzling beef in black pepper sauce - excellent sauce and sizzling hot Salt and pepper shrimp (no shells) - I've never seen an option for no shell before, pretty good but I think I might prefer shells String beans with pork - the pork makes each bite of string bean so delectable Roasted pork - perfect crispy skin with just the right amount of fat and meat Salt and pepper chicken cartilage - this is the only dish I wouldn't order again; there was just too much batter for my liking read more
We usually come to Taste to fulfill our Dungeness crab cravings. We paid about $83 after tax for our crab dish and eggplant dish. This was our first time with the eggplant dish, and I will definitely make it a regular dish. We always order our crab harbor style because there's so many flavors. Workers are always very kind. We came on a Sunday at 7:30 PM, so we had to wait a little while, but not very long. I love that you can see the live seafood in their restaurant. It is always lively here when it's crowded with people genuinely enjoying their food. read more

Located at 7945 South Rainbow Boulevard, as far from Spring Mountain as it is from The Strip, Taste has found an audience by focusing on "authentic Cantonese" cuisine at fair prices for everything from Pork Offal to Seafood from on-site tanks. Traditional in terms of layout, a brightly-lit banquet room with white tablecloths and minimal décor, it is after a short wait that guests are seated at rounded tables and presented a menu ranging from several pages and styles. Open from 11am until 10pm daily, peak hours frequently accompanied by a wait, fans of Peking Duck will find Taste's approximately 1/3 the price of Mott 32 and across three tableside courses everything from crispy Skin on Bao to Soup and Lettuce Wraps is well-prepared in generous amounts. Moving next to Congee, a bit bland in comparison to others, Walnut Prawns see sweetness reined in by lots of Mayo while Manila Clams in X.O. Sauce are worth the effort plus a bowl of White Rice to soak up all the Sauces. Waiting a long while for forgettable Chinese Broccoli, admittedly forgotten by the server, Ginger Scallion Lobster saw Shellfish shine despite overcooked Pasta while Sizzling Beef with Black Pepper proved better before finishing with complimentary Chinese Barley Soup. read more
I moved to Las Vegas from San Diego, but originally from San Francisco. I am used to really good Chinese food since I'm half Chinese and my grandpa used to own Chinese restaurants all my life. Unfortunately, SD didn't have any good Chinese food up to my standards. Taste reminds me of grandpa's cooking! We moved down the street! We've been here a few times already. We've tried the Salt and Pepper Pork Chop, Honey Walnut Prawns, Westlake Minced Beef Soup, Crab Meat & Fish Maw Soup, Peking Duck, Manila Clams with Black Bean Sauce, Deep Fried Flounder, Salt & Pepper Calamari, Empress Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Sweet & Sour Pork, and more.... It will be hard to describe every dish. Let's say they're all unique, flavorful, and not oily. I hate oily Chinese food. We come here when we have a big group and can order a 7 or 9-course meal so everyone can try some of everything! read more

My gosh... we came as a group of 11 and ordered a bunch of dishes, and we ate them like a tornado! From lobster to shrimp to soup to veggies , I honestly recommend all of them, it's so yummy that I want to go back already 天啊 超級沒有地雷的一家店，龍蝦意麵真的是我吃過最好吃之一！ 一般都是龍蝦好吃過麵，我一個不愛麵的人我都吃了一大堆～ 脆皮豬也超級無敵好吃 皮脆的剛剛好，肉也好嫩。核桃蝦也又酥又大一點不油膩。叉燒也好好吃～ 炒蚵仔也好到位。我只能這廚師實在太會炒了！！ read more

No, this is one of our most popular dishes. So usually we prepare plenty. However, you can always preorder just in case.
