OMG it's my new favorite authentic Chinese restaurant now!! They have a special all Chinese menu and it is really special! Try their Yun-nan chicken or Taiwanese salt and pepper chicken or Szechuan anything beef/Pork/fish - you won't be disappointed!

Great place for a quick lunch. There are new items on the special menu. I've only tried the Yunan spicy chicken and it tastes like deep-fried chicken nuggets doused with spicy sauce :) they give you so much go

Shrimp egg foo young. Full of onions and three tiny shrimp.

I had taste for egg foo young. So I decided to try Taste of China. When I started working at Hopkins about 16 years ago I use to frequently come here for lunch. They must have changed owners because I remember the food being a little better. I got the shrimp egg foo young lunch special. You get two patties and plenty of rice. But there was only like three very small shrimp in each patty. So the patties where full of onions and egg. Mostly onions. The taste was just ok. I swore I would stop eating Chinese food. This time I mean it. Just your typical Chinese carryout. No thanks. As I was sitting there they mixed up two customers orders. One customer had already opened the meal and put his fork in it. So they tried to give the other customer (young lady) the meal that had already been opened . But she refused. I watched them take the same meal and act as if they made her a new one and gave her that same meal. I won't be back.

I agree with Nancy H. Slim pickings around the Hopkins hospital area. This place does offer some reasonable asian food - a bit better than the Chinese food you get in the Eastern Market.

    Hunan tofu!

I love the dumplings - prefer the thicker skin dumpling and they are hard to find. But not here!

It is not a fancy restaurant, but it is very fast. It is really helpful for the students and staff in JHH campus, especially JHSPH.

I ordered combo lo mein, pork soup dumplings, combo fried rice, and duck spring rolls. Everything was packed well and nice and hot upon arrival. Everything was very delicious. All of the items had good flavor and the portion sizes for the lo mein and rice were good. I'd like to see maybe four soup dumplings for the price, but definitely enjoyed them as well as the spring rolls. Overall, I very much enjoyed the food, as did my bf, and will make a point to go there in person very soon to try more menu items!

We arrived for Friday $35 endless dim sum brunch, and the Host did not know who we were even though I had spoken with him today before, and I remembered his voice. So not a good start. We were sat upstairs, and we sat there for probably 20 minutes easy before we were even offered a beverage. It was when they first opened, but I would expect you to have staff ready. The hits just kept coming... The ambience downstairs was beautiful, but the ambience where we were sat was just lifeless. It didn't have the same punch. After we ordered some drinks, we decided on what we wanted from the menu. Some things were hit or miss, once they arrived to the table. The soup dumplings were just OK, but I guess I have really high expectations for that coming from NYC. The chicken lo mein wasn't bad per se, the veggie dumplings were delicious, the pork buns were well sauced. Some things I didn't like included the Szechuan beef, it lacked depth, and it was just too hot for my friends to eat. They really loved the fried rice and the sesame red bean balls. The scallion pancake everyone raved about was mid at best. I loved the curry sauce it came with, but it just was a mess to eat. The braised pork belly rolls were lovely, as was the cucumber salad, and the spring rolls. The Mongolian beef and the walnut dumplings were OK but nothing to write about beyond that they were basically flavorless. The cocktails were so so, but nothing that screamed for me to order another. The one highlight I will say is that they did come back to ask as if we wanted anything else multiple times. So I'm glad that they followed up on whether we want more food because some places just leave you be once they drop off. Maybe I'd give them another chance, but the answer is probably no... who knows. It was just generic, and imagining paying the prices that they had for not a $35 dim sum brunch per person, seemed egregious to me for such utterly mediocre food. So I guess I'm glad I came out on a Friday morning.

I usually stay away from Chinese food just due to the use of wheat noodles and soy sauce but having a few options that are safe and delicious is what really sets Peter Chang apart from other Chinese restaurants in the area. My favorites from the menu include: Crystal shrimp dumplings - so yummy and perfectly steamed. Comes with a sauce that might be questionable for my more sensitive gluten free foodies so proceed with caution. Absolutely delicious shrimp inside though! Scallion fried rice - comes with generous amount of egg and customized spice level. Goes great with a little extra tamari if you have some at home. Bok choy and mushrooms - omg, I think about this bok choy weekly! It's so perfectly cooked. Crunchy, full of flavor, and goes well with the mushrooms. I like mixing this into the fried rice. Singapore noodles - this was a new item for me but really yummy. Loved the thing rice noodles that had a nice chew to them and didn't fall apart. Seasoning was fresh and not overpowering at all. Comes with thinly sliced chicken and a few shrimp plus some chopped veggies. Add some of your own tamari to it for a little extra flavor! Delivery has always been prompt and dishes packaged well. I've never eaten in, as it's more of a casual takeout spot, but their food really fulfills my Chinese food cravings.

I ordered UberEats to my hotel. I ordered several things:…read more Chicken with broccoli, Eggplant in spicy garlic sauce, Green beans, White rice, Crystal shrimp dumpling and Hot and sour tofu egg soup. The food overall was delicious. Each of the entrees was flavorful and well prepared. Two things I want to mention: I thought the shrimp dumpling (3 of them) should have been a larger portion for the price and that the soup was a bit salty. Other than that, no complaints. After placing my order online, I called the restaurant to request plates, plastic ware and chop sticks. The friendly person on the phone assured me "no problem," and everything was received as promised. I had ordered a lot more food than I should have, and ended up having some for dinner, lunch the following day and late afternoon snack a day later. The entrees and rice held up well under repeat microwaving. I've been unimpressed by Peter Chang (eating at the testaurant) at another location in the past. I thought it was overpriced for what was typical Chinese food. I will likely try them out again after this experience. The food was much better than I remember it and seemed reasonably priced for the portions.
