love their drinks, I always tend to go here when I'm craving a sweet drink and they have tons of options. The large size is always worth it. However never ever recommend getting their food. I don't know why I keep giving them chances buying their food because I paid $13 for a large popcorn chicken and basically paid for crumbs. The portions are so small and not worth paying overpriced unless you want to finish ur food in 3 bites. It's not even filled all the way. Other than that, their drinks are good and I do recommend this place for drinks- as for their food, just opt out to go somewhere else if you're hungry.

We're back for their large karate chicken (their version of popcorn chicken). This is the only place I'm willing to drive to when it's not a convenient stop. The tea menu I am reminded are quite basic, and their milk teas are made with a non-dairy product. My Thai/matcha half half ptea was drinkable, though not particularly exciting.

My drink wasn't filled up enough to where I visibly noticed. NOTE: MY ORDER HAS ICE! I did not ask for light ice or no ice, so the amount of the drink should still be to the top or at least 20 oz as the menu states. I usually like this place. Like I go there every other week. Today though we ordered at about 9:57pm. About an hour before close. Drinks weren't filled up like they usually are. I didn't ask for light ice or anything either so the amount just seemed less. It isn't normal for this location, but maybe they had someone new or training idk. Typically I might've taken a look at the drink before leaving, but I've had consistently good service till now so I honestly didn't look till I got home. I see many other comments addressing the same issue and the owner doesn't seem to have fixed it. May avoid this location till they give the full 20oz for my drink :(

Ordering less ice means over 2 inches of the drink is missing.

Ordering less ice means 2 inch of the drink is missing. I have ordered less ice before but it was never this much. They raise the price and give less for your order.

Still my favorite place! Got the strawberry banana and it was delish. Just a small drive thru place with a dine in area and patio. And the popcorn chicken is always flavorful

Ordered no ice and came like this :( $8 each

Ordered the unknown, lychee peachee, avocado avalanche for $8 each and peach blossom milk tea 20 ounce of $5.95. Uber Eats. Avocado avalanche always hits but for eight dollars and 20 ounces that's pretty expensive. The unknown, lychee and peach blossom we ordered no ice and they only came 3/4 of the way full. Honestly you're not saving money by giving me less drink, I find that ridiculous and disappointing. The peach drink in particular came halfway full, not even 3/4 of the way, see pics. Just for that it does not make me want to come back here. Tastetea is not losing money on me by filling the cup a few more inches, it barely costs them anything. I'm not drinking the drink right away and therefore I don't want ice which would end up melting and watering down the drink. My husband and I just find this bad business practice so I don't think we'll be ordering again. I basically paid eight dollars for a half filled drink

Tastea has never been my go-to for boba because just by looking at the drinks and the menu, I can tell it's nothing special. But yesterday I was craving boba and karaage chicken, and Tastea was the only option still open and close to my house, so I desperately ordered from them for the first time and it will definitely be my last. The chicken was extremely salty and full of crumbs, as you can see in the photo, literally tiny pieces of batter that were overly salty. Of course, they also ran out of basil. I ordered a lychee freeze with 50% sugar, but they gave me 100% sugar instead. It was ridiculously sweet. Who even drinks super-sugary drinks these days? I honestly feel like I spent my money on salty batter and sugar water. Oh well, exactly what I expected from Tastea.

I love their popcorn chicken but maaan their staff sometimes seem like they don't want to talk to you. Some of them are nice though. Lol also everything taste so good but the chicken sometimes can be so tiny. They also run out of basil sometimes. Their Thai tea is yummy and boba texture is really good

Just a PSA for those of you who enjoy your drinks without ice. If you don't pay extra for the top off, you will only get half of your drink. It's an interesting scam that they're running, but who knows, maybe drink margins are tight

Thank you for the cup of ice. I do love the flavor of the tea, but I don't think I'll be returning to pay $5.80 for 3/4 cup ice.

I love the food here, especially the karate chicken! I usually get medium for spice level if you like it a little spicy, if not mild would be a good option for you! I also love their fries, you can pick what seasoning you want on them! The bbq flavor is really good! The boba and drinks here are always amazing! I usually get their jasmine milk tea or the tea to mango for a refreshing option! I love the little mango fruit bits inside the drink! The boba is really good and soft. Since it's December, they have special red and green colored boba for the holidays! It's such a fun surprise! I also like how fast the food and drinks come out!

I have tried pretty much all the boba places in Torrance and Tastea is now my go to. The boba is always the right chewiness and the drinks always taste as I expect. I love the drive through, they are actually pretty fast. The missing star is mainly for the crew. I think they are okay, I mean they are probably mostly part time employees, making minimum wage. When compared to other establishments they seem a little less friendly and don't really seem like they want to be there. For me going to get a boba is a treat and it can be a downer when the vibe is a little low. Not expecting high-fives or anything, but just seems different vs other places. Quality and reliability is still important to me so the vibe is not going to stop me from still going there! Another plus is the food, it's nice they have some go to snacks to go. I would check it out! They have minimal seating inside and out. I saw someone who was not so happy with sweetness levels not 0 sweetness when ordering 0. Please note at pretty much all boba places when adding toppings it most likely has a syrup that they can't separate, so your drink will have some sweetness. I don't like it too sweet so I always get 0, but expect my drink to have some sweetness.

When will oat milk be available again?? It's been several weeks now :(

Hi Nancy, we apologize about the inconvenience. We have restored oat milk on our online ordering platform and I can confirm we have oat milk in stock!

Which teas have the stevia option?

Hi Shellane, all of our teas can be made with stevia substitution. Hope this helps!

La Cha x The Bowl currently has a second location in Hawthorne in addition to this flagship location in Torrance. The shop is known for its viral cracking chocolate shell boba cup. [Parking]: Easy parking within the plaza. [Atmosphere]: A very casual setup for this tea shop and customers can place their orders via one of two kiosks. One thing to note is that the tea shop plays fairly loud background music so it is hard to have a conversation unless you are sitting right next to the person you are talking to. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are Strawberry Matcha W/ Milk Foam, Strawberry Taro Milk Tea, and Caramel Cheese Latte. Other featured items include Popcorn Chicken, Biscoff Shake, and Chicken Teriyaki Bowl. *** Strawberry Matcha Milk Tea (100% sweetness - $6.20): The drink was slightly too sweet for me, but the overall flavor was there. Chicken Teriyaki Bowl (Charbroiled Chicken Teriyaki + comes with white rice, chopped lettuce, macaroni salad and grilled fresh pineapple - $13.90): The bowl was surprisingly better than I had expected. The bowl had a slice of grilled pineapple and decent macaroni salad. I was actually able to split the bowl into two smaller meal portions. It was certainly a lot better than the teriyaki bowl from Flame Broiler. *** A solid 3.5-star for the drink and rice bowl. I personally slightly prefer their rice bowl over their drinks and overall this is a nice neighborhood tea shop to grab a quick meal or get a-okay drinks as there aren't too many tea shop options in this part of Torrance (closer to the city of Carson).

The logo looks like Chagee, the pink is reminiscent of Molly Tea, the fake olive tree is very Cha Redefine, and if I think really hard, the white pampas grass is Toro Tea. Or maybe I'm just schizophrenic, but it was an observation that I made to everyone. I believe ages ago this used to be a Happy Lemon, so this is an insane shift and change in what they offer and the vibes. It's very chill and a great place to hang out, catch up, or study and get work done. Lots of outdoor seating and a good amount of tables and small seating inside too. Ordering is done through a touchscreen kiosk and the drinks come out decently quickly too. Very efficient and friendly service. I got the: 1) Jade Peach Oolong Milk Tea: -I got this with no additional sugar and it automatically comes with their matcha tofu. Super unique and yummy topping. -Delicious white peach flavor, creamy and strong finishing tea taste. Reminds me of all of the aforementioned tea franchise heavy hitters that I know and love. Mai can hold its own. Without additional sweetness, this drink didn't end up tasting watered down or bland, which is super impressive. 2) Double Matcha: -I got this with their organic milk and it's their matcha on top of a matcha cream foam. I got this with no additional sugar (not recommend LOL), but I wanted to really see the quality of their matcha seeing how they won best matcha award and they're somehow in the same vicinity as Yamari. -If anyone even reads my reviews, I use a scaling method to rank matcha. If it's good matcha it's either a Yamari type or an Airoma type, and this scales much closer to Airoma, but it is VERY strong matcha. -This was actually the first time my friend and I got poisoned (like nauseous) from the matcha, meaning it's super high quality and strong. Never had this happened before, so you know that this is the good stuff. It might have been since it was a long day without dinner, or we might have needed it to be sweeter, but I can see why they won their award. I took a sip of my friend's Phin Drip Black Coffee and the Bac Xiu Marble Drip Iced Latte. Delicious coffee flavor without that "sourness" that some coffees have and even without added sweetness, it's not gross and bitter. I got some coffee to go for my dad and brother and they loved it too. We need one of these in the 626. New fav for the area. Definitely want to come back to try more drinks and maybe some of their pastries too.
