I was hesitate about coming here after reading some of the reviews. But, I decide to come on today and try some different egg rolls. Located in Bellwood. I try to maintain my composure and oder my food. I won't go into to much details about the area ad customers inside. I ordered the ground beef, Italian beef and jetk chicken egg rolls. The prices are very reasonable. I waited about 15 minutes for my order to be called. I give it 6 out 10. My eggs rolls were crispy and well cooked inside. My favorite was the ground beef egg roll. The spices in the jerk roll overwhelmed the flavor. The Italian beef was just nasty and greasy. I didn't like the flavor or the taste of the meat. I'm not to sure about this place being called Tastee Rolls. Hopefully this establishment will improve in time. The inside of this place needs updated and a nice good coat of paint around the walls. The cooking area cld also need a deep cleaning .

Really tasty! Definitely call to order beforehand instead of ordering at the restaurant- or you'll be waiting a very long time! Also don't expect to eat your meal here. There are no tables or chairs. This is a hole in the wall where you go in, get your food and head out. With that being said- I went with my mother to this location. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak egg roll and my mom got the "Obama". We also both ordered a peach cobbler egg roll. I do agree with some of the reviews complaints about the food being greasy- it was a little on the greasy side. But, with that being said you cannot deny that these egg rolls are tasty and flavorful. I was pleasantly surprised with how yummy these rolls were. The peach cobbler rolls were delicious. I highly recommend. Not to mention these rolls are extremely affordable. Most rolls cost about $4.50. Excluding some of the specialty rolls like the Obama and the peach cobbler rolls. The Obama was $8.50 and the peach cobbler was $6. I think they have super tasty rolls. Whenever I'm in the area I will definitely try some more items on the menu!

Popped in after getting takeaway from a nearby Jamaican restaurant. I ordered two jerk chicken eggrolls and two jerk shrimp eggrolls. For what I got, I enjoyed. The eggrolls were full of flavor and had a nice bit of heat to them. They had red onions in them. I would love to have them stuffed with some cabbage and macaroni and cheese so that they would then become a meal. It's a small walk-up. There are no seats for dining on the premises. The clientele that comes through provides a lot of enertainment ranging from cussing out loud, cussing on cell phone with someone who is cussing in return, or meandering around outside doing nothing of use. Once you get past that, the eggrolls were not bad. I saw the other eggroll flavors and other dishes on the menu, but my Jamaican half will be just find ordering anything jerk if ever I return.

I really wanted to support this Black-owned business, but my experience was disappointing. I noticed an employee eating in the back while handling orders, which seemed very unsanitary. Cleanliness and professionalism are important, especially in the food industry. I hope they take customer concerns seriously and improve their hygiene standards because the food has potential, but the experience made me uneasy.

My husband and I had been here once before and loved it, so we decided to come back--and we're so glad we did! The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. The lunch specials are an amazing value, and the rolls have been perfect every time we've visited. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend Sushi Time in Elmhurst and will definitely be back again!

Unfortunately, they recently removed the option to add special instructions on DoorDash and other ordering platforms. Now the message says: "The store has chosen not to accept special requests. Contact them directly with questions about their menus." This has made ordering much less convenient and has been really disappointing for us as regular customers. Small accommodations can make a big difference for people with dietary needs, so losing that flexibility has definitely changed our experience. Can you please allow special instructions so I can update my review?

What I love most is the versatility...you have the traditional sit-down dining area, and then on the other side (toward the back/left), there's the hibachi grill. Whether you're in the mood to relax and be served or want something fresh off the grill, you've got options. Now, I'll be honest, the line can get long, especially on Sundays right when they open at noon. But it's absolutely worth the wait. Everything is fresh and made to order, and I've never had a bad experience here. Some of my go-to favorites include the egg foo young, Mongolian beef, spicy egg rolls, and spicy crab rolls...but honestly, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is always friendly and welcoming, which makes a difference. The atmosphere has a little bit of buzz to it, but it's not overwhelming, you can still enjoy your conversation without feeling like you're shouting over noise. Overall, this is a five-star go-to spot for me. Consistent, flavorful, and reliable every single time. If you're in the Chicagoland area, especially near Elmwood Park, New Star is definitely worth checking out.

First, I was told they were waiting for a table to open up. Then they were waiting on a cook. Finally, a staff member said the people at our reserved table were still eating and they were waiting for them to get up. When I asked when our table would actually be ready, she laughed, threw her hands up, and said she didn't know. What made the situation even worse was watching other customers walk in and be seated while we continued to wait. From what I observed, Black families were waiting extended periods of time, while White and Mexican customers were seated much more quickly. A party of 15 that arrived well after us was even seated before my group. I am deeply disappointed and disgusted by the treatment my family received on my mother's birthday. This would have been her first hibachi experience, and instead it was ruined by poor customer service and what appeared to be unfair treatment. I will never return and would not recommend this restaurant based on my experience.

It is definitely not the sort of place that you'd expect to see as essentially the Holiday Inn restaurant. While we didn't get any food, the drinks were great! I had two margaritas, a standard and a because everyone else was doing it I got their spicy jalapeño margarita (there's an actual name for it but I can't remember what it was). It was really good, and it was actually a bit spicy which was nice. They aren't light with the alcohol either, so although the drinks aren't inexpensive I also didn't feel cheated. Would you expect a nightclub in the suburbs--especially Des Plaines? I wouldn't have, but then there's Ostras. They have a DJ playing every weekend (on Saturdays, at least), and they provide a salsa dancing lesson every Saturday at 9:30 p.m. There was quite a crowd there so it seems to be a popular place.

We stood at the front with absolutely no acknowledgement from any of the staff including the bartenders. There is a front counter it seems, but no one was there. After five minutes of standing, and yes, it was 5-min, as the World Cup was on and that game clock doesn't stop. 5-minutes might not sound long, but when you're standing in the front, its a long time. We finally got greeted by their understaffed people, and were seated in the back. Obviously no reservation needed, as they didn't even ask. After about another 5-minutes, we got paper menus. By this time, we scanned the QR code that was on the table, to see the menu, and we were already ready to order. Sadly, I wish I did look at the paper menu, because apparently the online menu was different. There was a gumbo on the paper menu apparently. There's pictures of it on their TV monitors, showcasing their food, but I didn't see it on the online menu. We go the oysters, which surprisingly no one got sick from. Chicken fajitas were OK, and the rainbow roll sushi was OK too. The service really was bad... I would not come back again. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located in between the back room and bar area, the bathrooms were surprisingly pleasant. No poop splatters or pee stains on the toilet and urinals. They keep their bathrooms clean. Sit or squat? Sit.
