This place really surprised us! Good authentic Chinese homey soup bases that reminded us of homemade cooking, paired with free boba milk tea and AYCE high quality meats - run, don't walk to get here! We'll be back.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 This place has changed their menu so if you haven't tried it recently I would give it another try! I used to not like it before but now that they have AYCE it's become our go-to after climbing. Great place for all you can eat hot pot open until 10:30pm. All you can eat hotpot comes with complimentary milk tea but you have to ask for it. The meat quality is pretty good and the pricing is reasonable. Soup bases are flavorful as well. We tried the satay and the pepper pork stomach soup base. They have a lot of options for sides. It did take some time to get our meat since we came it at 9pm and I believe they cut to order.

Here (again) to show some love to my favorite spot in the East Bay. I brought a couple of friends for AYCE hot pot yesterday and we had such a great dinner. They had all the TVs playing the Super Bowl and then switched to the Winter Olympics, which was perfect. I also love that there are TVs on both sides of the booths so all four of us could watch comfortably at the same time. The hot pot was delicious as always. We tried a new soup this time, the pork stomach soup, and the pieces of pork stomach were actually really good. My personal favorite is still the coconut chicken soup though. My friends were super impressed with the food and also pleasantly surprised by the free boba that comes with AYCE. I'm so glad they still offer that because it's the perfect sweet drink to balance out all the savory. We didn't even know there was a promotion going on, but when we asked for the check, the staff happily let us know and made sure it was applied. Since it was Super Bowl Sunday, one person ate free with a party of three or more. After tax and tip, it came out to about $34 per person for our group of four, which honestly feels like an absolute steal in today's economy. Loved how thoughtful and transparent the staff were about it - such a nice surprise! Such a fun, filling, and worth-it meal. We'll definitely be back and I heard they post their promos on WeChat, so I'll be keeping an eye out for those.

Love coming here for ayce hot pot! The soup bases are solid and all the ingredients are so fresh. There are even dim sum like shumai and hai how they you can order as well as complimentary boba tea that's actually legit. No complaints whatsoever. Service is always friendly and polite. Oh and great sauce bar too!

I pass by this place a lot during my lunch walks and finally decided to give it a try. They offer lunch special mini hotpots, and each pot comes with a free drink, a choice of green tea or black tea. I was seated quickly, and the server took my order right away. The service was friendly and welcoming. Since I knew what I wanted and only had an hour for lunch, I placed my order immediately, knowing it might take some time to prepare. I had the Szechuan Spicy Pot, which came with beef, fish filet, enoki, tofu, clam, shrimp, cabbage, glass noodles, fish ball, corn, pork blood, and squid balls, and a choice of rice or noodles. The portion-wise was good, and had lots of different ingredients. But the flavor was lacking; Szechuan flavor should have the bold, numbing, and tingling sensation, but I didn't find any from this pot. My sister got the Satay Beef Pot; the flavor was spot on. So if you are craving spicy, I would not recommend getting their Szechuan Spicy Pot.

We dropped in after jury duty around 4pm on Monday. There is steam pot, happy hour (Mon-Fri 2-5 bbq foods either a soft drink or beer for $2) or AYVE hotpot shabu shabu. We decided to try the AYCE premium for $35. We got the hot & spicy soup and herbal chicken soup. We loved how there's 4 sections in the hotpot. We could cook meat in one of the same broth and drink the other clean broth. So we only got try 3 different meat slices. The Ribeye and U.S Prime beef were juicy and tender. Don't get the angus beef! It's so dry and tough. Get the shrimp paste! Soo good. We also got assorted mushrooms but there was way too much mushrooms and we couldn't finish them all. We also got watercress, fish ball with smelt roe, taro, soft tofu, pork stomach, beef tripe, bean curd sheets, squid (would skip this, it's frozen), lotus root. They also have dim sum, noodles, fries, sushi rolls on the AYCE menu. They also gave some add on seafoods for extra price if you want to splurge. The pearl milk tea is included in the AYCE. Fast service. They also have a full bar.

Returning customer Soup bases are great, my usual is hot and spicy But have tried 3 others bases, also good Service can be a bit slow because it gets busy Themed layout with lots of space Clean and organized Food is good, comp with milk tea They have a bar, got a Rum and Coke Will be coming back again

Restaurant is really clean and the food here was good too. I arrived a little early for my reservation but since it wasn't too busy they let me sit, order tea and watch the playoff nba. Really good service. Bring Oakland Chinatown back

Food was so delicious, great quality and price! Our server was very attentive and food came out fast. Was not super busy on a Friday night, definitely got our moneys worth! Love this little gem, plenty of street parking- definitely will be back!

This was my first time writing a review, and honestly, if you haven't tried this place yet, you're missing out. The wagyu beef truffle fried rice was incredible--I literally couldn't stop eating it. I was a bit hesitant to order sushi since it's mainly a hotpot spot, but I'm glad I did. The sushi was surprisingly fresh and really delicious.

10/10 favorite AYCE hotpot. Their boba milk tea is surprisingly good and I always get refills. Reasonably priced at $32.99 for a weekend dinner. Service is always fast and staff are attentive.

This place is great, second time here and it doesn't disappoint. What I especially love is all the choices of soup, we had the satay and Japanese soup. They have a wide variety of meats, veggies, seafood and other options. They actually also offer sushi and crab boils as well as skewers, as well as boba drinks. Really can't go wrong with them and their automated servers haha along with the team, everyone was nice. Definitely recommend them!

There is an AYCE hotpot menu. Different than regular menu. We just did it this past Sat and it was good and well worth it.

We tried to go here again tonight, but we were told that it is no longer all you can eat. When did they change?

As of Dec. 2017, Tastee no longer honors the 5% Yelp check-in offer or offers AYCE. I just asked; they said they would reconsider AYCE in the summer months of 2018.

He found the ribs to be fall-off-the bone tender, with potatoes that were more whipped than mashed alongside a carrot puree. I, on the other hand, had the New York Steak and au gratin potatoes. Though I wanted to enjoy my entree, I found the New York Steak to be unfortunately chewy and with too much fat. The au gratin potatoes could have had more crispy layers but tasted mediocre. Though I'd only rate this first experience with three stars. the service staff DID win us over and could potentially be the reason I'd be open to giving it another try.

The moment we sat down, the place started filling up fast, and you could feel that holiday rush kicking in. Even with the crowd, the vibe stayed warm and welcoming. I ordered the Wings with two sides, and my partner went for the fried fish and fried prawns combo (pretty sure it was Combo 2 or 3). And listen... the food was fresh. You could taste the clean, hot oil in every bite -- that perfect crispiness on the fish and chicken that only comes from cooking with care. The fried prawns were a standout: juicy, crunchy, and seasoned just right. My sides were solid soul‑food comfort. * The collard greens were wonderful -- flavorful, tender, and exactly what you want from greens done right. * The candied yams leaned a little too sweet for my taste, but still good and definitely made with love. To set the tone, I ordered the Y's Choice Mimosa in pineapple, and that pitcher carried the vibe through the whole meal. Refreshing, fun, and honestly the perfect pairing with soul food on a hot holiday afternoon. By the time we finished, the Itis hit me hard. I knocked out the moment I got home -- that's how you know the food was hitting exactly the way soul food should. And I have to give a major shoutout to our server. She was holding down multiple tables by herself during a heat wave, and still made sure everyone was comfortable, taken care of, and enjoying their meal. Her hustle and attitude were a huge part of why the experience felt so good. Overall, Y's Choice delivered fresh food, great energy, and that classic soul‑food satisfaction that stays with you long after the meal. I can't wait to come back.

I really like how they let you build your seafood experience exactly how you want it, from the type of seafood to the seasoning and spice level. The only thing was I think the spice level could've been kicked up a notch. Our table ordered a mix of oysters, garlic noodles, Cajun fries, shrimp, crawfish, mussels, which came with corn, potatoes, sausage and hard boiled egg! The seafood was fresh and the sauce coated everything nicely without being overwhelmingly salty, and the corn and potatoes soaked up all the seasoning. All for a very reasonable price if you get the combo, which comes in 3 different tiers! The oysters were a standout--fresh, briny & I loved all the different sauces like horse radish and cocktail on the side. I do wish the fries were a bit more crispy and could've gone heavier with the Cajun seasoning, but that's personal preference. The atmosphere is casual, lively, and perfect for big groups. Table was dirty from previous guest which usually doesn't bother me be ut little things started adding up. Service took a while. Oysters came out first. 20 min. They were fresh and delicious. Just enough to get the palette opened up. $46 though? Way overpriced but was willing to overlook since it is Mother's Day. Next up - clam chowder, 10 min after they took the tray for the oysters. If you're sensitive to sun, definitely come with a hat, as there is very little shade. Since I visited with a large group, I was able to try out a decent spread of items on the menu, including the a fried fish sandwich, fish and chips, oysters, a caesar salad, a chicory citrus salad, fries and clam chowder. Of the items we ordered, the fried fish sandwich was by far my favorite. I really enjoyed the soft bread they used. The balance of flavor between the slice of American cheese, tomato, shredded lettuce and tartar sauce was perfect. The fish itself was super crispy, not oily, and the outer crust held up to the sauce without problems. The oysters we ordered were on the sweet side. If I were to guess, I would wager they were Kumamoto oysters. Although the oysters themselves tasted great, the shucking could have been improved: one of the oysters I had had quite a large piece of shell in it, and with another one, the muscle of the oyster hadn't been cut from the shell. I believe the kitchen staff is quite small, so if you're coming on a busy day and you have a large group, I would definitely bring your patience, as food and beverages may take a while to get to you. Although a hazy IPA would've been the perfect complement to my meal, paying $12 felt a bit much for me, and my wallet told me to pass and enjoy a beer at home instead. Overall, I had a pretty solid experience at Ace Seafood -- minus sitting in the scorching sun in the uncovered back patio.

I'm a french fry snob and their fries are everything, along with their ketchup! The outside area is super cute and hope to try their dinner items at some point. I stopped by today and was surprised by a customer who was being extremely rude to the staff and they were upset because they claim the biscuit they ate was raw...but they ate the entire biscuit and didn't bother bringing it to their attention. Honestly the way in which this woman spoke to the staff made me feel uncomfortable for them. Can we all remember to show some kindness to the people who show up and serve us? Common decency.

Best I can offer is -- avoid the cheddar scallion biscuit unless you like raw dough. Definitely ask them to warm it up (although who knows if that will help?). If you mention it is raw, they will blame you for not knowing to ask to warm it up. They will not suggest that this is an option when you purchase the biscuit. Though given how wet and gray this item was in the center, they should at least suggest it. Or automatically do it. What stunned me was the lack of care, curiosity, or any sense of service on the part of the young barrista. She was defensive, accusatory, and judgmental. And after I walked out, she and her coworker were laughing (seemingly at me though I can't be sure). When I walked back in, because I wanted to address how odd that interaction was, and hoped to get to a kinder place rather than running away, both employees avoided eye contact until one hissed to the other "They're back." And so the first one and I spoke again, and she continued to double-down with the rudeness and blame and defensiveness. Which was just wild. But after reading the other negative reviews here, I realize now that this is normal for Sirene.
