    Spam musubi
    Vi T.

This venue has a mix of Sichuan Chinese and Hawaiian foods on their menu. So I decided to try the braised pork noodle soup ($16) and a spam musubi ($2.75) for lunch. While waiting for my food to-go, another dine-in patron had just received their order of stir-fried garlic string beans ($15), which looked and smelled amazing. The pork noodles soup was moderately spicy and didn't really have that much shanghai bok choy veggies compared to their menu photo. However the broth had a nice depth of flavor (in addition to the mala spicy taste) and the pork was tender. I just wish there was more broth included for my takeout order - it barely covered the amount of noodles provided. On the other hand, the spam musubi was a good deal for 1 piece. Will definitely return to try their garlic string beans and other dishes, like their dumplings. This venue is located in the Lucky grocery store shopping plaza with plenty of parking. Dine-in has about 8 tables with 2 to 4 seats each.

    Spicy wonton

Sad to be posting about this place because it's a hidden gem that'll get discovered and get too packed to ever go back. We Loved the spicy beef noodle soup. I got it mild because that's all the heat I can take. If you like spicy, they can definitely make it! The chongqing noodles were very nutty and smooth, but even though it was ordered spicy because my friend could handle it, it wasn't too spicy. He was really hoping for the soup and spice of the noodle soup. The spicy wontons were amazing, cannot recommend enough. Even that was spicier than the chongqing noodles. I loved the refreshing cucumbers, always a favorite for me to order. This place is ran by two people, so service was a little slow. But we didn't mind--it has that home-y diner feel. Felt a little nostalgic for me.

Braised beef noodle soup - medium heat

Oh my goodness. I came here for the first time and I ordered the beef braised noodles (medium heat) and the salt and pepper eggplant. Everything was 10/10 sooo good. I never knew I could LOVE eggplant. It was perfectly crispy and seasoned. The soup??? The beef sooo tender, broth spicy and flavorful and the noodles were chewy and perfect. The owners were sooo kind and attentive. Very fast service, food was hot and fresh. I'll definitely be back. I want to try their wonton soup but I'd get the same order a hundred times over. Also, the portions are huge and priced so well! Everything was amazing! Even coming at the end of the day, the owners were so sweet and didn't make you feel rushed or anything! 11/10 highly recommend!

Dan Dan Noodles - "medium spicy" which had a real tangy kick but didn't kill me LOL

I was running errands nearby yesterday and needed to grab some lunch. I randomly decided to pop into Xiang Xiang and I'm *so glad* I did! This place is exactly what I look for: a small, unpretentious hole-in-the-wall offering fantastic service and incredible food. I ordered the Dan Dan Noodle bowl and asked for it "medium spicy," and it was perfect: thick, firm noodles with a sauce that fell somewhere between "oh wow that's spicy" and "oh wow that's tangy!" I also had a spam musubi which was very tasty too. The food is great but the best part was the warm and welcoming staff, who made me feel like a friend visiting their home rather than a customer in a business. 10/10 experience, eagerly looking forward to returning with friends to dive deeper into the menu!

    Wor Won Ton Soup

I dropped by Xiang Xiang on a Saturday evening to try their Wor Won Ton Soup. The great thing about this place is there's plenty of parking. I surveyed the menu, and asked for the Wor Won Ton Soup and a glass of water. In about 5 mins, I was served a huge bowl of steaming hot Won Ton Soup. Maybe 9-10 plump dumplings, shrimp, pieces of tender chicken, and plenty of chopped cabbage. It was very easy to eat and enjoy. The comforting broth was hot and satisfying. Staff came by numerous times to check on me, and make sure my soup was okay. At $16.99, I will order it again.

We went here on a Sunday night for dinner around 6pm and it was full! It's also a very small restaurant. Maybe 5-6 tables. We waited about 15 minutes, so not bad. We got the SiChuan spicy wontons, braised beef noodles, and Dan Dan noodles. The spicy wontons had a lot of soup/broth in the bowl, which was a surprise. The braised beef noodles were good and the Dan Dan noodles was but my favorite. The braised beef noodles was a very good portion and you can definitely split it between two people if you want to share. Service was fine. There's 1 restroom and a large free parking lot outside.

Great noodle spot for ma la and cumin spices. Had it med spicy and it was great and delicious, its intestines noodle and portion was pretty big. Spicy pork ears also great!

Searching yelp for somewhere I haven't tried that was open Monday mid afternoon. Came upon the reviews for Xiang Xiang and it looked like a solid choice. Indeed it was. Simple menu but lots of options. I went with the braised beef noodle soup, top of the menu. Spice level was nice and the meat was fall apart tender and very tasty. Service was prompt and friendly. Very reasonably priced. I'd like to run it up next time with a couple of sides. There were a few families eating but was happy to see they had a spot for a single diner ready to go. I will be back very soon!

Xiang Xiang Noodle opens in Honolulu BBQ's space, retaining BBQ menu, adding Sichuan eats. Interior similar with Hawaiian food pics on walls. XX may be related to a similar eatery in Sunnyvale. Same name. Similar menu. XX reads "village fragrance". Literal meaning a semblance.... Seated quickly. Host semi-fluent in English, fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Staff, probably seldom meeting a Mandarin speaker patron, came out to talk. Overheard them telling each other what I talked with to the other. My Mandarin rusty, forgetting xue(school). Saying kuzi (pants) instant of Ja Ke (jacket). Offerings: Hawaiian BBQ. Limited lunch Sichuan appetizers, entrees. Dinner has hot pot... Bites: Sichuan Style spicy cold noodles (13.95) -came out in 8 minutes. Not stirred yet. Had to self-mix the round noodles, sesame oil, Sichuan chili oil, green onions, julienned cucumbers... -initially too hot, coughed violently for seconds. Haven't tasted chili sauce for months. -informed noods came from local noodle factory. -lst time for spicy cold noodles. Surprised noods were firm & chewy, not Al dente. Cooling warm noods with cold water probably harden them. Sichuan Bean Jelly with mala sauce (9.95) -Mala surprisingly not too hot. Maybe tamed by owners as they weren't sure of my chili tolerance. -bean jellies can be made from starches from peas, mung beans, potato's.. -topped with mala sauce, green onions, chili pieces. It's a cold dish. Should be eaten cold. 4.5 stars worthy quality: good. Could be spicier. Quantity: very good. Some dishes $$ cheaper than others. *Chongqing was in Sichuan until it became a province in '97.

I come here probably every other week. It's so good. A lot of the flavor is in the chilli oil so I would recommend going as spicy as you can. My go-to is the beef noodle soup and gyoza with chilli on the side. Definitely worth checking this place out.

I put in Xiancg Xiang Noodle in Google Map and ended up at a Hawaiian BBQ spot?! Seems like Xiang Xiant Noodle took over the previous spot because they're serving up authentic noodles and the usual Hawaiian BBQ options. We both ordered their braised beef noodles and was impressed. The noodles had good texture; the spiciness was a bit much for mild but tolerable. Prices are a bit more down to earth than other spots too! It's an interesting experience because the interior is very much like Hawaiian BBQ.. feels wrong but the food tasted good .

I was craving noodles nearby, so I stopped by on a whim. I ordered the medium spicy dandan noodles--spicy and delicious! The atmosphere has an Asian vibe, and the service was good.

All dishes came out as we hoped/expected with both the chicken and fish providing the nummy sensation that is unique to Szechuan cuisine. We threw in the eggplant order because we wanted some veggies and something that didn't overtly threaten to numb our palettes and were very happy with that as well. Chicken was fried well and not dry at all which was a lovely experience. Fish was also flavorful and enjoyable to eat, although perhaps the least memorable of the dishes. I wouldn't NOT get any of the dishes again and might elevate the chicken as a must get if you're there for the a Szechuan experience. Well probably come back the next time we get a craving for that nummy feeling.

Although 3.8 is pretty low in my opinion, I believe this place should receive more of a 4.5 if I could do half ratings. Why? - Food has been consistently good and I know because I've been here several times ordering pretty much the same things (green beans, mapo tofu, lamb ribs and fried chicken); they MADE me like lamb which is huge because the only place I only loved it was in New Zealand, not a fan of the aftertaste - Service is friendly, food comes out relatively quickly; only suggestion is making more stops to refill waters/tea and ask if we are ready to pay the bill because we kind of need to flag them down for those things - Price is decent, def not $$, more like $ just because I split 5 large dishes among 3 people with LOTS leftover and it amounted to $33/person and in the era of 2026 with skyrocketing gas prices this is really good for tax and tip included - Easy parking in the area All in all, I hope this business is here to stay because I will be coming back again and again.

Fish was tender (we did not order the live version). Eggplant with string bean in Lao Gan Ma sauce was the best eggplant dishes i've tasted. The eggplant was beautifully sauteed to a delightful crisp (almost tasted like meat) and quite addictive. Crispy spring roll was good with the accompanied plum sauce. Service was prompt and friendly.

I'd been craving that spicy grilled fish from Earl Spicy for months. I'd talked about it so much…read morethat this time, instead of just dragging my husband, I brought the kids and my son's friend too. I was basically forming a fan club. But right before we left, my husband looked up the hours and said, "Wait... it's called Taste of Four Seasons now?" Uh, what? Did Earl Spicy close? Yelp still showed it alive and well, so we decided to go check it out anyway. My heart was already committed. We got there around 7 PM on a Friday. A few tables were filled -- seemed like a good sign. Plenty of servers, but no sign of the old owner. I started feeling a little nervous. We looked through the menu... no spicy grilled fish. Cue quiet panic. I pulled out my phone and showed the server a picture from our last visit. She said they still have it -- it's just made differently now and it's really good. Also, they now use a fresh fish called 多寶魚 instead of the frozen fish Earl Spicy used. Now, my husband and I thought we had decent Chinese, but we had no idea what 多寶魚 was. We stared at the tank she pointed to, still clueless. And honestly, if Earl Spicy really used frozen fish, they fooled us -- it never tasted frozen. I asked how much it was, since it wasn't on the menu. She said $42 per pound, usually around 1.5 pounds. I figured maybe $65-70. More than Earl Spicy's $48 XL version, but hey -- I am here for it. We ordered a few other dishes too. First came the "New Style Sweet and Sour Pork & Shrimp." The menu said pork and chicken, but the server said it was a typo -- it's actually pork cheek and shrimp. It ended up being the best dish of the night. The shrimp was excellent, 5/5. The pork cheek was good too, just a little fatty -- maybe 4/5 for me. My husband wanted Szechuan pepper chicken. The server said the kitchen could make it, even though only a tea-flavored version was listed. What we got was stir-fried chicken with jalapeños. Not deep-fried, not spicy, just... dry. It didn't really land. My son's friend loves fried rice, so we got the $19.95 special fried rice. It came out shaped like a fish -- super cute. First bite though? "Why is this so hard and dry?" the kids asked. I tried it -- yup, same. Crunchy in a weird way, like it had been sitting on the heat too long. I asked the server, and she apologized and had the kitchen remake it. The second version was slightly better, but still dry. Maybe that's just how they do it. Next came the salted fish eggplant casserole. It was only $9.85, but no one really touched it. Just not great. And finally, the main event: the fish I'd been dreaming about. It arrived in the same tray as before, but no tea light underneath. Not a big deal. They'd added a mountain of flat noodles (河粉) underneath, but the fish itself? Dry. Bland. Not the spicy grilled fish I remembered. The sauce was thin, almost like gravy, and the noodles were just soaked sadly in it. A friendly lady (maybe the new owner?) came by and explained that the restaurant now serves southern Chinese-style food, which is different from Earl Spicy's. I smiled politely, but inside I was crying, Why didn't you say that before we ordered? She brought out complimentary glass jelly for dessert -- nice touch. I liked it, but the kids thought it was too bitter. Then came the bill. The fish? $111.77. I did a double take. How was that 2.6 pounds?! I thought about asking, but my husband gave me the look: "Let's just go." So we paid. With tax and tip, the total came out to nearly $240. Final verdict: RIP Earl Spicy. You were loved. You are missed. As for Taste of Four Seasons? Once was enough.
