The structure of the sub holds well: even if you add plenty of toppings, it doesn't fall apart in your hands. Not much to add about the interior, it's on the smaller side with some seating. These subs are as good as it gets! They offer subs with the usual options of meats, and at reasonable prices even though the subs are way above average. The bread they use is so soft and their tomatoes are clearly grown in NJ because they taste amazing. And when you pay with cash, you get 10% off! You can typically find a line out the door for customers waiting, but don't be fooled. It'll be your turn in no time. The line goes quick because the workers are so efficient and they know what they're doing. They work like a factory line to get the line moving quick, and the workers are always so nice. Tastee? More like just getting by. What happened here? I remember these subs used to be amazing. Like an old fashioned sub shop of the 1960's. Good subs, big portion, for a reasonable price. For the latter two, that still holds true, however the subs do not have the same taste they used to have. I got myself a #5 which is supposed to have a lot of meat. It was skimpy. The bread was stale. It was a big sub, 8 inches to be exact. But I had to go through 3 inches of bread and a heaping amount of lettuce just to eat this. They do not mention what kind of meat they use for their sandwiches, adding insult to injury. The only good that came out of this sandwich is the 5% discount I got using cash. But that pretty much is the only positive I can think of. While they are better than Subway, Tastee misses the mark. We've passed by Tastee Sub Shop a few times and there's always a line out the door. My fiancé mentioned that he had gotten a sub here a few times and it was really fresh, and that Obama had eaten here before too. So why not try it out? We had just finished grocery shopping nearby one Saturday around noon, so we called ahead and ordered. They quoted a 25-minute pick up time but it was really only about 15 minutes. I am so glad we did this. As we've seen before, there was a line out the door, and there was also a line inside. I waltzed past the 15-person line, as they stared at me (probably because they didn't know you can order ahead), paid, and picked up my sammie. We ordered the 16 inch whole 5. Super Sub combination of 1, 2, & 3, which is pressed ham, boiled ham, salami, cappacola, prosciuttini, and provolone with everything. Everything means that the sandwich comes standard with lettuce, tomato, onion, vinegar, oil, salt, and oregano. You can choose to add mayo, mustard, honey mustard, Russian dressing, or hot peppers. We opted for the hot peppers. The sandwich would have been WAY too messy to eat in the car, so we didn't eat it until two hours later. Because of that, it was a little soggy, but that was our fault. Even then, it was a really great sandwich. It was stuffed with high quality meats and lots of veggies. On top of that, this giant sandwich only cost $11! A regular is an 8" sandwich and my wife ate almost all of the sandwich. I ordered a ham and provolone sandwich which was a whopping $4.86 and was a great sandwich. The subs come on a soft hoagie roll with the neat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, oil, vinegar, salt and oregano. You can order other condiments too. We also got a side of macaroni salad and a potato salad, both were very tasty. I devoured my ham and provolone sandwich so only a picture of half of the Honey Roasted Turkey sandwich. When I got to the Tastee Sub Shop, there was a nice long line out the door. And as a foodie, I have learned that long lines generally mean great food. I came here on the recommendation of a friend and man, were they right! 15-20 minute wait to get in, but 100% worth it. The best way to describe Tastee to someone who hasn't visited is that it's like Jersey Mike's, but the sandwiches are bigger, food tastier, and prices better. A "half" sandwich is about a foot long, "whole" two feet long. Subs are packed with meats and cheeses sliced in front of you and topped to your liking. A half sub is plenty for one, a whole can easily feed 2 adults. With tax and a bag of chips, my total came to under $9. I got my sub around 3 PM, so into the cooler my roast beef and Swisa half sub went until I got to my hotel. When I dug in a few hours later, I was blown away. Great bread, great meat, and plenty filling. This wasn't a wimpy little Subway sub. No, this was a *real* sandwich that provided far more food for the same price. Half sub had me full. You can bet your behind I'll be returning if in the area again. Regarding COVID-19 protocols, the restaurant is strictly enforcing mask and distancing requirements. Went to this place on the recommendation of a colleague. It looks like a hole in the wall but is very busy. They staff inside was very friendly and didn't rush me to order. There were two tables inside but pushed to the side. I decided to eat in my car. I ordered a roast beef with provolone, lettuce and tomato, OV, oregano. They did ask twice what I wanted on it but it's better than not getting what I wanted. The making is like an assembly line. First they cut the roast beef and put that and the cheese on. The next step is the other stuff. I got a water and small cup of macaroni salad which was really good. I should've gotten a bigger container. I would've given 5 stars but on the first half of the sub the roast beef wasn't to my liking, as it wasn't rare enough. It was borderline well done. On the second half, the roast beef was rare. I do recommend this place and will definitely try them again when in the area. I hear their Italian sub is superb. read more

You cannot order Doordash from this store. They mess up the order every single time. You have to be standing there watching. I just paid $54 and got a single sub. I didn't get the platter I also ordered. And, my sub is made wrong. Once again. I asked for lettuce, onions, vinegar, and hot peppers. I said to put the vinegar and hot peppers on the side, and to put a ton of onions, more than even the lettuce. I cannot eat a whole sub from this place in one day. I can barely eat 1/4. So I do NOT want the vinegar put onto the bread, because it will get very soggy. So what do I get? I get a sub with the bread drenched in vinegar, the salt and pepper on the bread, and NO ONIONS. Not a SINGLE string of onion. I don't know why the orders would be wrong all the time, since the instructions are in writing. Another thing is, I prefer to have the cheese put on last, because it then helps to hold down the onions (if you get any) and the lettuce. Instead, they put it down right on top of the tuna, so instead of the condiments being pressed down into the tuna, the cheese makes it slippery and the lettuce and onions slide off the sandwich. The cheese could be acting like a wrapper to the veggies and instead they put it first, like a barrier to the mushy tuna. Also, the vinegar should go ON THE TUNA, not the bread. The cheese could act like a barrier against the bread getting all soggy. I'm very angry right now so I'm complaining, but I will say the tuna is awesome, the bread is usually fresh, the line moves fast, I love the pickles, and the potato salad is good and fresh.
