Ordered delivery, which came quickly. Unfortunately everything except the chashu rice bowl was packaged in styrofoam clamshells, which were partly deformed by the hot food. The food was mediocre and mostly tasted like frozen versions you can buy from the grocery store. Gyoza: These were deep fried, not pan fried, and I'm sure were cooked from frozen. They were bland, and the dipping sauce tasted like plain soy sauce. Crab Rangoon: These had almost no filling, and what there was was bland. I didn't have high expectations from a Japanese place, but I got suckered in by a 2 for 1 deal. They were easily the worst crab rangoons I've ever had. Shrimp Curry Rice: The curry was bland and gritty. Tasted like a store bought brick that hadn't been fully dissolved. The shrimp were tempura fried, so they got soggy in the curry. I've never ordered shrimp curry where the shrimp were anything but panko fried. The rice was overcooked. Shameful for a Japanese restaurant. Chashu Pork Rice Bowl: As with the curry, the rice was overcooked and mushy, which is unforgivable when it's one of the two ingredients in your bowl. The chashu was fine, but nothing special. I'd prefer if it came sliced with some benishoga as garnish. Chashu Yakisoba: This was easily the worst dish we tried. We ordered carrots, onions, and kikurage as add-ons, and they came cold and raw in a separate container. The carrots were literally a small handful of grocery store baby carrots, not even sliced or chopped. The onion was about 1/4 of an uncooked yellow onion sliced thick. I'm guessing the yakisoba is made ahead of time and not cooked to order for the add-ons to not be cooked with the noodles. In any case, the noodles were overcooked and bland. It came with no garnish. I'd like to see at least a scoop of benishoga and maybe some sprinkled bonito flakes or shredded nori. Overall Tasty Corner did not live up to its name. Do yourself a favor and go the few extra miles toward Chinatown for one of the much better Japanese bistros in town. read more

They have an extensive ramen menu as well as seafood similar to the boiling crab. To start we ordered the spicy garlic edamame, it had good spice and flavor to it. We also had shrimp tempura which is served with sweet and sour sauce. I ordered the shoyu ramen that came with pork an egg and other yummy toppings. My girlfriend got the snow crab legs. They told us we could sit anywhere, which was totally fine and then we were looking at the menus, which is reasonably priced. We made our decisions and while we were waiting for the food, I started looking around and I grabbed one of the soup spoons and I noticed that they were dirty on the inside of the ladle handle. So I wiped it down with my napkin and there was like orange residue on the inside of it, which I thought was a little gross so I picked up another one and it was the same. The food came out quickly, which was nice, but when our food came out, it was not hot, steemy or more than lukewarm. My fiancé noticed that in the ridges of the bowls, there was buildup of oils, which was a little gross to be quite honest. I got the chicken Ramen and it was bland at best. To be honest, we probably won't be back, but the young lady at the counter is very nice and friendly. Cleanliness and the quality of food could use improvement. Checking in on yelp, a coupon for a free Boba Tea popped up. I chose coconut milk and it was sweet and good. For our seafood boil we chose headless and skinless shrimp and clams. Included in the boil are two medium red potatoes and two small ears of corn. Cajun fries, two egg rolls and two won tons are included. We chose the mild garlic butter. The food was served hot, fresh and delicious. We enjoyed every bite! We were so full we couldn't eat the last three shrimp. They place plastic on the table before they bring out the food in a large, clear bag with plastic food service gloves to protect your hands from the messiness of the butter seasoning. The staff was friendly and helpful. This restaurant receives a lot of takeout orders. It was the best we've ate in Las Vegas by far. I recommend giving them a try-you will be glad you did. read more

Didn't even pop in there head to ask if I wanted to dine in. I ended up looking over the menu and ordered a mango tea to try since its my first time here. I also order chicken Ramen, and chicken karaage. The chicken Ramen was alright nothing amazing and it lacked flavor sadly and the chicken karaage was hot but was very chewy, I did wish they had some ranch to go with the chicken but they did have ketchup. At the end I took all my food home and gave the rest to my dog, he'll at least enjoy a treat. I waiter/cashier did check back on me to make sure everything is fine. Mood - Ramen I saw this place pop up on my radar and knew it was a must as I checked out the menu ahead of time. It used to be another restaurant that I frequented over the years so I was def curious. Upon entering was greeted and ushered to sit wherever I chose. Menus were given. Interior is very cute love the decor. Everything was very clean and the lady that served my table was courteous. Staff was wearing masks to ensure safety. Music was playing, another patron complained about the music style and how if affected her, so they changed it for her. Thought that was odd as we actually enjoyed the music. Yes it was trendy. My issues were minor and maybe it is a new restaurant issue. My Garlic Edamame didnt come with a dump dish, so all of the empty pieces had to be put back in the take-away container they were served in. If I was out with a group of people and had to deal with that I would not have been happy at all. Would recommend - pricing was reasonable. Items are served in take away containers. It's been almost exactly 10 years since my last yelp post (let's see if I still know how to write with these arthritic hands), but I felt compelled to review Tasty Corner with it's Soft Opening. Tasty Corner is tucked hidden in a rather low traffic plaza. The name as well doesn't provide any hints toward any potential customers to the type of cuisine they serve. But good thing you're reading this because North Las Vegas/Centennial area is lacking in good food. Check this out: 1. Boiling seafood (a la Boiling crab, Pier 88, Urban Crawfish, and Hot and Juicy.) - Choose your seafood items, they'll serve it in a bag with your choice of spices and butter. You can lay out your rice/shrimp/shells on the double layer of paper they place on the table. And then you can go to town. Also get this, they don't charge for rice (as of this post). It's unli-rice! I felt like I was in the Philippines! Good stuff. 2. Ramen and Udon - served with thin noodles, and a rich pork based soup with your choice of toppings. 3. Curry - got the chicken katsu. Thin and crispy, and obviously goes well with the curry. 4. And Boba - seems like an after thought but was actually refreshing after my bag of spicy shrimp. This is the powdered taro stuff, but this is EXACTLY what I prefer. They serve a lot of food items and surprisingly, all of them are... Tasty; that is very difficult to do. As a local, I definitely will be going back here but I think the highlights are the boiling seafood and the ramen. The prices are very competitive and there really isn't a need to drive all the way to Chinatown for similar food since Tasty Corner popped up. Final thoughts: I usually am weary of critiquing new local joints, mainly because there will be a ton of growing pains (and the review feels just a bit more personal). I may be just another pretentious yelper, but a lot of these places benefit from word of mouth advertising, so these are my 2 cents.
