Lunch time experience: I went here a month ago, I was being lazy to give reviews :p. But here I am, I had to be honest this place is phenomenal from the customer service to the food. I ordered the #8 Thai flavor hot soup, it was so so good. I'm not a big fan of hot pot but this place nailed my expectations. Big Bonus to their appetizer Takoyaki, is the best that I ever had. The chicken chips is great at first but towards the end I'm not a fan. Dinner time experience: That one time I went with my coworker for dinner, we had to wait at least 30 mins but it's ok it worth the wait because I had great experience before. But I regret waiting because the soups is not that great. But they worked very hard so I erased my bad experience and will decide to come again. I was so excited to hear a tasty pot was opening in concord and it did not disappoint. It's impressive how quick and comparable they are to other tasty pots, especially on an opening weekend. They really loaded up on the portions and service was fast. Hopefully they continue to maintain that as time goes on. You have to order with your phone and it took us some time to figure out how to add things to the cart. We're tech saavy, so it was easy to pick up, but I could see this being confusing for some. We both ordered teas with lychee. No apps Bc we knew the main food would be lots from scouring the other reviews and word of mouth. I had left overs to take home. The beef pot was a tad smaller than the miso pot but not by much and they both were FULL of all the varieties listed of fresh tasting seafoods, meats and veggies. When we ran low on the soup base they were quick to refill and we were pleasantly surprised. The location is prime as they are fixing up that shopping space where I would frequent as a child. I was so excited about a Taiwanese hot pot place that isn't all-you-can-eat. Why? Because there are times in your life when overeating just doesn't fly anymore. Regardless, i figured each pot is going to fill me up just fine anyway and I wasn't wrong. We were here on a Saturday night at 5:30PM. There weren't too many people waiting but the seats were all taken. Given we had a group of 6, we had to wait about 50 minutes while other couples waited shorter amount of time. Still, the wait was worth it. We were all happy to try different hot pot of various broth and ingredients. I went for the "Taiwanese Spicy hot pot" and it comes with a lot of beef, more than I can possibly digest anyway so I shared my pot with my son and gave more meat to my hubby. He got the Curry Pot, which is slightly smaller and comes with pork but equally delicious. My friend tried their stinky tofu pot that looked pretty delicious although i forgot to ask if it was good or not. The only down side is their stinky tofu didn't really stink so if you are looking for authentic stink, you are out of luck! We also ordered their popcorn chicken and it was pretty good. My son ate pretty much all of it, per usual. Their fried calamari isn't as good as I would like them to be as they were a bit on the smaller size. But the flavor is there if you like Taiwanese style fried calamari. I will definitely come back again because what is a winter without some warm hot pot! read more

I was a bit overwhelmed by the options, but maybe that just means I have to go back multiple times to try the different soup bases! I went with the kimchi dumpling hot soup, with a medium spice level. I think the spice level on mine was just as I expected. The hot pot was full of goodness. The broth started to steam off pretty fast, until I adjusted the heat element at the bottom. Luckily the staff came by and asked if I wanted to add more soup, which they had readily available. We also shared the basil popcorn chicken, which was also good. The hot pot is pretty filling as is. Service was pretty quick and this location was nice with plenty of parking. read more

Hard to rate a not yet opened place. Well, stars to go for the hospitality, design and new online ordering platform that works faster than making a manual, "old fashion" order. Came in by the private invite, were offered to select a table to be seated at depending on our party size. Interior of the place is spotless new, with interesting, modern touch of art on the walls. Design and lighting are well done. Ordering from scanning the menu works by far much faster, then manually from the paper menu and gets delivered x10 faster as well. Seafood pot was delivered in 4-6 minutes (3 times in a row) where Sichuan Style pot took over 30 mins to be delivered. Appetizers came relatively fast as well. Really cool china and furniture. Service leaves plenty of room for improvement from picking order/s, delivery (spilling pots on the way to the table, furniture and customers), ability to follow up and decline orders when running out of certain menu positions. So our family from New York, came to visit and wanted to eat Asian food. We brought them to tasty pot Concord because we've always had a great experience and it was something different that they never tried. Even though we just walked in, they were able to get a table for six set up quickly, and then added another person that I had forgotten to add to my number. Everyone enjoyed their food and were so surprised at how quickly it arrived And I want to give a shout out to Chang who is an amazing server and always makes us feel welcome when we are there. There is usually not much people here when I stop by. I ordered usual, the Japanese Miso. I came around lunchtime, so I got a complimentary iced green tea as well. I really like their green tea, it was refreshing on a hot day. The hot pot took awhile to come out, but I was enjoying my tea, so it was okay. We were able to set up our sauces for the soup while we waited for our drinks which came promptly. When the food arrived I was happy as always to see the generous amount of meat in each bowl. Other locations seem to always have less toppings/meat. The restaurant was clean and staff was incredibly nice. I would caution anyone however that I didn't realize the food would take time to be completely cooked. I was hoping it'd be more or less 80% ready, but I was put off having to wait for the tofu and the zucchini to cook up. She was exclaiming that she was happy but 10 minutes later she had a very foul look on her face.The portions were well made,but all the staff except for one man were VEEERRY ignorant.We kept on asking to get more broth,but they ignored us until the 3rd time. I love Tasty Pot and I'm so happy that they opened one up in the East Bay in Concord. This is the closest one from Vallejo and located in the same plaza as Ranch 99. Parking can get a little busy but there's a huge parking lot area. I came here on a Sunday evening just for 1, it was pretty busy but I got a seat quickly. I like getting their 1. Beef Hot Soup with the free side of rice. You get to choose the option of rice or vermicelli noodles. I also go between mild and medium spice depending on how I'm feeling. You order through your phone and the QR code. The servers then bring it out to you. They usually give you a cup of water and they also serve boba too! The food comes out quickly and I like to mix the garlic soy sauce with the soybean paste. I don't like my soup scorching hot because I usually burn my tongue so I usually put the soup and pieces of meat over my rice to cool down. I like to dip the meats and veggies in the sauce mix. Soo good and fairly priced. Some people are able to share soups but people usually finish their own bowls. Would recommend if you're looking for some warm loaded soups! read more

Wasn't that flavorful basically was watery the garlic soy sauce didn't add to the taste. Also ordered the chicken skins they were actually good. The worst thing of it all was the price it was absolutely ridiculous that's a reason why I'll never be back. First time visiting this location on a Saturday night and we were disappointed with the wait for our party of 6. We added to the waiting list and unfortunately this waiting list is not like the ones where you get a text message when it's your turn. So we hung around in case other parties left and the wait might be faster than we think. Sadly, it was an extremely long wait and we've been to Newark location and Dublin where the wait for our same number party was much faster on a weekend too. I signed up I was number 38 and because we had a party of 6, we ended up waiting and an hour and a half. We had the guy check in and when he confirmed we had 6, he said oh another 15-20 mins. And then he preceded to seat other parties after us to their tables. I'm just wondering if they had a better system for seating bigger parties. If not, we could've split our party to make it faster to eat and not have to wait so long. Once we were finally seated, we ordered via the code and the hot pot came quickly. We ordered the basil chicken and that was good. We also ordered the potsticker but it was ok. Didn't look so nice like the image to me. Our hot pot was fine for ~20 per pot. and you get a good amount in the larger pot. I am beginning to understand the allure of Tasty Pot. I have visited other stores in San Jose and San Mateo and have never left wanting. Service is very good and pretty standard in all the locations I have visited and this one was no different. The food itself is quite good and filling enough for me to add a few pound even after playing 18 holes at nearby Franklin Canyon Golf Course. The problem is on a warm day after sweating a couple cups of water (yes I did replenish the lost fluids) I realize why the restaurant was not busy on a Sunday afternoon lunch time. The hot (temp) broth and hot food can be overwhelming and this is definitely a better option for dinner. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my Miso broth (#10 dish) and ate it with so much gusto. I have encountered the dinner crowd before and it can makes so much sense to mix a cool evening with hot broth.
