I mean, come on... there's dozens of photos of the platings but not until you read the review do you know if it was good or not, right?! First time being here but I might've tried another location if this is a franchise (otherwise just similar names to one in SD?). Waiter came to explain the menu. Two options on ordering: with the waitstaff or via QRC. QRC was taking too long to load so I waved down the waiter to come over. Our order: Lamb minus the imitation crab, curry, and Japanese miso. Apps: calamari (lightly coated and perfectly fried as they were crispy without a heaviness to them - would've taken a photo of the empty plate but we used it as discards from our hot pots. You don't wanna see that!) and gyoza (eh... nothing to really note). As you can tell, my Lamb was delicious! I got it Medium spice but would've liked a little bit more heat. Added some chili oil, but it's never the same. Music was good. I kept saying how I had a good half of their songs played on my Playlists. Decent amount of seating. They tend to fill up the front and outer seatings first. And not so much the middle. Took about 10-15 minutes to pay the bill though. I think their POS isn't across all tablets? We came here with a group of 6 as this is one of my fiancé's grandmother's favorite restaurants. We came on a Tuesday night around 6:45. We were seated right away and it was not busy, the restaurant is big with many tables and booths. I got the curry soup, it comes with rice noodles and is bubbling hot upon arrival. I really liked the egg and waited until it was cooked to my liking to eat it. There was also a good balance of veggies and meats in the soup which I appreciated. I also got a taro tea which was super creamy. Everything was delicious. I did expect the soup to be a little spicier (I got medium spice) but it was otherwise really yummy. Came here again recently with friends - it was a fun experience since it was their first time at a hotpot spot. At around 7pm on a Saturday, there was about a 20-30 minute wait. After getting seated, it was about another 30 minutes for the soup to come out. Luckily, the appetizers that were ordered came a bit sooner than that. The takoyaki, calamari, and dumplings were pretty good. The dumplings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside - my fave of the three. Ordered the Curry, very spicy. Had a kick, and a mild curry flavor. Ultimately it was okay. Noodle portion is very small. Can add extra pork broth when requested. Service was limited. How can a business with great and unique food and good workers get 1 star and If I could give it 0 i would? Here is how: I have been coming to this place since it soft opened late 2023. Over the years, the place has a good customer base for good reason. The issue is that they are ALWAYS understaffed. Don't let the hiring sign on their door fool you. Owership intentionally understaffs even when they have people hired to cut cost. They are so understaffed that customers wait over an hour on average to be seated during typical dining hours on WEEKENDS with half the restaurant seating capacity available and unused. Then ordering, the staff is so busy that they do not take in restaurant orders and ask the people seated in the restaurant to place online orders for pickup which also forces you 5o pay gratuity upfront unless you carey cash which most people no logner do then take their receipt to the cashier. Then you have the issue of this rule being selectively enforced. The staff seems to pick and choose who is forced into placing an order online vs who is not. Today we arrived at the restaurant around 6:20pm. Despite half empty, we were seated around 7:45. 10 minutes later of not being aknowledged, i wave a familaor face and he tells me that it would likely be faster if we place the order online. The order was placed by 7:57. it should order compelte by 8:28 but by 8:38 our food had not arrived. i get frustrated and ask what seemed to be staff that was already frustrated where the food is and before i even get to the part that it shows online our food was already served, he tells me: Dude, we are really busy. it will come out when its ready. a few minutes later the food came out and i asked the person bringing the food who us the manager. he said he was and i told him the situation. he took full accountability and even offered a refund saying he recognized we were regulars. i said i recognized him too and said I will not accept a refund. It is not fair to make food for people and not get paid but I told him that that someone whether it was him, the manager before he took over the shift, or ownership is accountable. This type of experience and standard of service is horrible for a business. He kept apologizing snd isnisted on a refund to his credit. I refused but thanked him for the courtesy. I made sure that above all, respect for customers should be prioritized when other service variables fall short. its the one thing that can mitigate this type of feedback and the one person that tipped this in the wrong direction leading to this review was the last straw that broke the camels back. But to be clear this is not a one incident occurence. This is the third and likely final time I come to Tasty Pot. read more

Tasty Pot was absolutely delicious. I loved that the hot pot comes out fully pre‑cooked but still bubbling over a real flame, which keeps everything piping hot the entire meal. The rice is free, which is always a nice bonus. I paired my pot with their milk tea and the combo was perfect -- comforting, flavorful, and so satisfying. Been here about a handful of times and this place never disappoints! I always leave satisfied and happy. I've come in every shift and it doesn't get too packed. i never had to wait. they do give complimentary iced teas during lunch and it is the best tea ever! beef hot pot never disappoints and they are open to any modifications! most of their dishes include a handful of seafood but if that's not your cup of tea, they can remove it. they have a pretty big parking lot shared with a lot of other food vendors so it can be full sometimes. the place is spacious and clean and hrs a booth setting :) read more

I'm really happy to have this place here. The restaurant is really clean and the servers are nice. We ordered Cheesy Milk and Beef. The broths were so flavorful and serving is good for one person. They do have "larger" options which might be good for sharing with another person. We also ordered their Fried Popcorn Chicken, which was surprisingly good! To start off, I only went here because my friend told me it was just like Boiling Point. And it is, the menu is almost the exact same.. and they even offer the same drinks for lunch hours ? Same lunch hours as Boiling Point too.. 11-3pm. I'm not saying they're a copycat.. but it's funny lol. I went to tasty pot tonight and ordered the Kim chi hot pot. It comes with your choice or vermicelli or rice. I ordered it with medium spice. I thought it was really good and the spice level was perfect for me! I like some kick without my mouth burning. The service was good and they walk around and will give you extra broth if you need it. Just as a not it comes out with an individual flame below the pot it is was boiling hot. I had to be very careful not to burn my mouth and had to let each bite cool down before I ate it, which is actually a good thing because it slowed me down. The ambiance is Just okay and they do serve you the wa tic in a plastic disposable cup. What was nice is that they also give you a carafe with extra water. It was fine because it did the job. Great find in the valley! Located in a shopping plaza so lots of parking available. The inside was very clean and not busy (which was good for us). Also, want to note that staff was very friendly and welcoming. Service was also very fast. Unlike other hot pot places, you don't cook the food yourself. They bring it out already made, with a flame underneath. You can ask them to ignite the flame once it goes out. They have different options to choose from, including appetizers and sides. They also have boba drinks. One thing to note is that you cannot substitute items in the hot pot. For instance, I did not want the pork slices and wanted to substitute with fish balls but they said they can not do that. You can also adjust the level of spice. I chose mild which was not bad at all. Next time I'm going to try medium. The pot itself is big and it can easily feel 2. Flavors were on point and very tasty. There are sauces on the table which you can add as well. The boba drinks are on the sweet side. I asked for half sugar and it still tasted like they put a ton of sugar in it. First, I can already predict this place will have a long line of people waiting hours. I know Tasty Pot is fairly new, but man I was impressed. I am SO happy that the valley has another hot pot restaurant in the area. (I love Boiling Point, but I think this place stole me over) The ordering process was fairly easy- scan QR code on table and submit the order. If you have trouble with QR Codes, there will be a server that's ready to help out. The food came out pretty fast and the presentation was so cute. The pot was held by a portable burner that resembled a building I recognized in China. It was super cute. My boyfriend and I ordered the tomato hot pot and spicy beef with an extra side of cooked pork. I think he asked to refill the soup 3 times because it was just that good. I loved mine, I felt the seasoning and flavors were so perfect and not at all too salty. He and I will definitely be back! read more

The soup here is really good. You pick your base with meats and veggies and then you can add on noodles and more of anything extra you might want like extra fish cake, dumplings, etc. It's individual meals so everyone gets their own bowl. They have a flame underneath when they serve it to you, so if it isn't super hot when it comes out, just wait a bit and it will start to boil. There's a small lever on the side that controls the temp from high to off. Eventually it got too hot for me and I turned it off, but thought this was a great feature. The physical menu is a bit complicated until the server explains it to you. They have QR codes on the table where you can order and the menu on there is much easier to navigate. I would definitely recommend this place if you are craving a hot pot style meal. read more

The boba were undercooked and slightly hard even after they took it back to fix. Asked for no sugar but still tasted sweet. Tea flavor p weak. Thankfully it was free for grand opening. Employees/service was very attentive. The hot pot food does hit that "craving" you're looking for. Love the sauce options, but why are the sauce cups small...? Suggest giving customers a rice bowl or a real saucer size container. I like how you can turn of the fire "off" on your hot pot, but portions seem underwhelming compared to other places for the price value. Rating this place four stars because our table was sticky when we got seated. Another downside is the fact that this place doesn't allow you to substitute out ingredients unless it's the pork or beef. They'll offer to remove your unwanted ingredients, but unfortunately it can't be replaced with anything. Women's bathroom was also pretty dirty. We ordered our food within 10 minutes of ordering. I ordered the Thai and my boyfriend ordered the Sichuan. I wish the Tom Yum base of the Thai had a little more acidity in it. This place is great from small dates to medium sized groups (6-8) and are all looking to try different things. I really enjoyed how it was decorated and that I didn't have to order and wait for a server but rather through my phone. Because of that, service was quite fast and friendly too! I did not enjoy the quality of the food though. I felt like it wasn't anything special and like I was settling for warm (not hot) tea, soup that doesn't have any real depth of flavor to it, and ingredients that don't really seem fresh. Plus the bathroom definitely needs to be cleaned!! While everything but the food was a wonderful experience, I still wouldn't come again because there are so many other places that have those same qualities but better quality food just down the street like Boiling Pot. read more

I'm not usually a hotpot fan but my friend convinced me to try the Tasty Pot in AZ. It was pretty delicious, all the seafood was fresh and service was friendly and helpful. The flavors at this Northridge location lived up to my memory however we ordered beef and lamb hotpots instead of the seafood. I have two complaints. My first is that I have to do the ordering myself. This is not indicative of this particular restaurant, it's really of all restaurants that are turning to QR code and self ordering. My second is that my 1"-1.5"corn cob piece was dark brown in a few spots and at first bite, tasted like it was rotten. The soup was flavorful and tasty enough and the service attentive and friendly. I will go back and try the seafood hotpot for comparison. read more

They have lots of parking. You can order your meal with the QR code (but you pay the normal way with the waiter). I got their Japanese miso and it was very good. They offer sauce condiments at the table and the portion size is really awesome. It's a large restaurant with lots of space and can generally seat large parties. I was so excited that Tasty Pot was opening up in the valley! I was a regular at the one in SD and would go often to the one in the bay so I was expecting the same when I visited this spot. Maybe it's because they just opened but I had the most mediocre/ bad experience. Arrived for lunch on a Sunday with my sister and the place was pretty empty, aside from 2-3 other parties. The restaurant itself is big so you would not expect a wait time. I asked for a table for 2 and the guy at the counter said "just wait 4 minutes." Ok whatever, that's fine I guess. 5 minutes pass and he asks if I want a table or a booth and I said a booth, he then tells me it'll take a few more minutes. So it's almost 10 minutes in, the restaurant is empty, and I'm still waiting to be sat. During those 10 minutes, I read the Yelp reviews and saw that the service was similar, some even noted that it took a while to get their food once ordered so right when I got to the table, I placed our orders. You scan a QR code and place the order on your phone. Food came out 10 minutes later, so the wait wasn't long. They have a few sauces on their table, I wish the chili oil was in a scoopable container but it's in a squeezable container so the chili got stuck in the tip and I couldn't get any of the oil. The sauces were good and just like I remember but it would've been better if they could've been easily scooped out. The hot pot - I got beef and my sister got lamb. The portion size is great, lots of beef and food within the pot. But unfortunately I found it to be flavorless, the beef was sooo dry, and the vermicelli in the pot was over cooked that it was breaking apart. At one point my sister was wondering why they didn't give her any vermicelli and I had to tell her that it's the broken pieces in her pot. I'm so disappointed with my visit here. First off, this place is confusing. Do you wait to be seated, write your name on the paper, or come to the front counter. Stood there for a while like a lost/confused duck, and the guy standing by the register didn't even acknowledge or greet me. So, my sister just walked in and said, "table for 4? Thank goodness we only ordered one hot pot to try. The broth was bland, a few pieces of beef, broth dried out waiting for the noodles and rice. I added an extra order of rice and noodles that didn't even come out. Then, when I told our waitress, she said, "You only ordered 1 rice and noodles, but I'll get you another rice on the house." (She charged us), which is fine, but I thought she said I didn't order another rice? If you messed up and didn't see the order, then just admit to it, but don't tell me it's my fault I didn't order it, but yet it made it on to the bill. The drinks omg do not order the drinks. It's like drinking sugar, syrup, and water mixed together. We ordered the green milk tea mango. He guy gave us black mango tea. He said, " Sorry, we are out of green tea." So, my sister said okay, but we asked for milk tea, and you should have told us you're out of green tea. Another guy came back with the same exact drink. They literally either gave us the same drink 2x or remade the same drink that we didn't order ( black mango tea). My son got the peach milk tea, and it was bad. It was so sweet that I had to return it. I asked for less sugar on my phone, but it tasted so sweet that even a 3 year old couldn't drink it and said, "Yucky." The new owner has to be one of the cheapest and rudest people I've ever encountered in the restaurant industry. The old owner Ben was warm and welcoming. Ben made my original experience here wonderful. That was not my experience with the new owner. I would've rated this place a one star but the servers were kind and attentive. The new owner (I believe his name was Dean) was rude and horrible. He was extremely cold when there were problems with the food and would dismiss you. When there was food missing, he accused us of eating it already!! The drinks tasted like powder and milk. The menu is incredibly overpriced and the poor staff were extremely overworked. There were times I've come in where there were 1 or 2 servers working. They had to sprint around to make sure everyone was taken care of. The old owner would have 3 staff minimum to cover the restaurant. There was also extremely loud music coming out of the kitchen which isnt a problem for the most part but it was very jarring when sitting close to the kitchen. Overall, do not come here if you value your money. The new owner Dean is an ugly horrible person who should be far away from the service industry. read more

Overall experience at this location was ok. We came in recently for lunch on a weekend. There were only 2 servers taking care of the dine-in customers and take-out orders. Servers were nice and polite but they could really use extra sets of hands for the front end of the store. Due to lack of help, customers were instructed to order themselves by scanning a code at the table to begin order. Our food arrived relatively fast after ordering. I have ordered a Healthy Veggie pot. It was tasty and had almost everything except for a couple of items that were missing (king oyster mushroom and taro). You have an option to choose rice or vermicelli. I opted for vermicelli. I was surprised to see how small the portion of the vermicelli (one tiny bunch in a knot) compared to the rice that was filled up all the way to the top. The hotpot meal came with a choice of ice green tea or water. Ice tea tastes refreshing. As I was finishing our meals, I noticed the same servers were clearing up other tables. From what I see, the owner of this location may want to hire 1-2 extra help specially with cleaning up the tables and chairs after each customer. You can see food debris is still left behind on the tables and chairs. And the tables also felt a bit sticky. read more
