sushi that food poisoned me smh
    Lorrie C.

Went back in mid-April and not only was my sushi poorly-rolled and awful tasting, I also got severe food poisoning I'm still recovering from a month later. This is the only place I wasn't sharing food with other people at that day so I'm confident it was here.

When we first got there, there was no one in the restaurant. There was no greeting at the front or anything despite they're not being anyone there so it took us a while to get seated despite they're not being any business. Our server when we finally got seated was very nice. She was very quick with our food, but also we were the only ones in there. The Thai tea was really good. The sushi was not bad, but it wasn't amazing which was to be expected. The hot and sour soup was super overly thick wouldn't recommend from here. The actual interior was nice and cute.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. Stumbled upon this place while in the area and it didn't disappoint! A very nicely decorated place with lots of tables. Clean and welcoming environment. My host and server was Sunny, she was very kind and smiling . She was helpful on recommendations and I got a nice spread of hot sour soup, absolutely delicious Crab Rangoons( They were extra large and the orange sauce was one of a kind!), Thai iced tea mixed just right, fired by a highly recommended fire dragon roll that they light on fire! Followed up with a dessert of ice cream. Pricing is very reasonable given this inflated economy. Service was very fast and everything came out very fresh. I would highly recommend coming here for your sushi, they do also have Thai food and Chinese food.

The server was extremely slow, coming waiting on us , following up. The employees all worked separately. And lacked in customer service. The server didn't seem to know the menu .? The sushi I had was very good, sashimi was excellent. The slices of sashimi were decent, they were good ratio, the rice was very dense and packed flavor was so so, but the sashimi was good. Ginger salad had a little to much Mayo for me . I would come me back and explore this menu. I was surprised at how good the food is . Professionalism needs to bump it up. The staff is all sitting at the sushi bar eating and socializing during the end of lunch. I feel like they should eat in a different area and be more attentive to the guests . Service was a two Food was very good though.

We had a great date night here. I don't normally do reviews, and no I wasn't paid to make one. The service was top notch the waitress was very nice and took care of us kindly and professionally! Food is simply excellent, any other negative people who rate this place as just snobs with half a brain cell. Come and enjoy this place. My fiancé insisted on this place and I'm glad she did. We will be coming back! Thanks, Tony.

    Mango martini was bomb.

I have to update my review. Came back to dine in a while ago. From service to food presentation everything was great! Fast service and got some free edamame. Ordered their mango martini that tasted of fresh mango puree it was delicious. The sushi was plated beautifully and it came with amazing sauce art work by the chef. All around the food was delicious, I took half my meal home to savor for another meal! The staff was attentive and great. Definitely left feeling full. I recommend others to give it a try, I know I'll be back to sample more.

Crazy Salmon Roll and Spider Roll.

Since moving to the area, I wanted to try and find a new place to get sushi from. I saw the reviews on Yelp, and decided to give this place a try. I ordered my food to go, and I ordered the "Crazy Salmon Roll," and the "Spider Roll." Both rolls were fresh and delicious! The portions were definitely worth the price (which wasn't bad at all)! I will definitely be coming back to try other items. Also, this place offers more than just sushi, so even if you are not a fan of sushi, there are still plenty of options for you to try.

My fiancé and I ordered dinner last night from Tasty Sushi and it was decent. The prices were fairly inexpensive and the maki rolls were very small. I'm not sure if I'd order from here again because there are a lot of amazing/better sushi restaurants in the area, but it wasn't bad. Sashimi slices were large and thick. It almost made them a little too chewy. Salmon had a rich, buttery texture. White tuna was very clean and fresh. Tuna had great flavor. My first main complaint (besides the very small makis) is that we ordered fatty tuna nigiri. When the delivery driver (Uber Eats) dropped off the food, he said the restaurant told him to tell us they were out of it, so they gave us double the tuna order. Normally, when we order food and a restaurant might be out of something, they always call us to see what we want as a replacement or to take something off. We thought it was odd they just didn't call to notify us. Seaweed salad - Fresh, on a bed of lettuce. Spicy tuna roll - The first roll was pretty spicy, but after that, it was just okay. Tasty roll - Really great flavor and a unique smoky taste. However, there were shell pieces from the crab legs in one of them. Sweet potato roll - Refreshing warm flavor and satisfying crunch. Godzilla roll - Delicious! Amazing flavor and spicy. Plus, it was still warm, even after delivery. My favorites were the sweet potato roll and Godzilla roll. So, did Tasty Sushi live up to our expectations? Eh. It was decent but not the best sushi I've ever had. But also, not the worst! I think it'd be perfect for a lunch on the go. I would recommend it to someone but we probably won't order from here again.

    Udon with Tempura

Immediate reaction after eating: Fresh. Delicious. Pleasantly Surprised. Superb taste and excellent value. Truly Tasty! Wow! This place is amazing. The best kept secret in Cary is finally out. Full Review: I know what you are thinking, "Sushi in Cary, IL..." but let me make my case as they exceeded every expectation. Let me start by saying that I am well versed in Sushi, Udon, and Ramen. I have been to Japan many times as well as a regular of the best Japanese places in and around Chicagoland area, New York, and Oahu. When we arrived, we had very low expectations givens the typically burb surroundings but as we entered we saw a bustling restaurant on a Sunday night and were excited to be seated. We were seated right away and served water and began looking through the menu. The first thing you notice is that the menu is very large and has Japanese, Thai and Chinese. This is typically a red flag but we were set on Japanese and had limited expectations. We proceeded to order Chef's Sashimi, Udon, Ramen, Sushi pieces and Rolls. As we waited for the food, one of the sushi chefs ran around the restaurant providing complimentary Edamame to the tables. I believe this was done due to a potential wait but I can say that we did not experience any delays in wait time for food and simply enjoyed the free Edamame. The first sign of something good was that Edamame was not you typical sea salt coating. They did it a very nice butter instead. The Sashimi came out first and believe me when I say that for 11.95 the 9 pieces were enormous! Like each one was 2x to 3x the thickness of most sushi spots. And believe me when I say the freshness was as good/if not better than Tensuke Japanese Market. Seriously. See the pictures. We then got the Udon with Shrimp Tempura. I was again expecting a few pieces and standard udon. But we were again pleasantly surprised to be served a mountain of freshly fried tempura (3 giant shrimp, sweet potato, mushroom, onion ring, zucchini, and broccoli). Again they were perfectly coated and fried. Some of the best tempura I have had period. Globally. And the Udon, was not your traditional lifeless soup, it had cilantro and notes that are best described as comforting Japanese-Thai feeling. I had a spoon but may have been seen drinking directly from the bowl given all the goodness of the broth. Noodles were great and not mushy. We then got 2 of our 3 rolls - Happy Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll plus our Tofu Skin pieces. My daughter loved the tofu skin rice. The Happy Roll was wrapped in soy paper and had such a great taste. And brace yourself, the spicy tuna was actually spicy (not burning but you actually get a small kick). Gasp!!! I know most time when you get spicy tuna they try to tame it down at places to appease folks but not at Tasty Sushi, they know how to do the spicy tuna roll. A mark of a great sushi spot. We then got our Chashu Ramen. And look, I am a ramen snob - see my past reviews. Pros and Cons. Egg was hard boiled (not soft boiled). Noodles were solid and thankfully not mushy and to be honest, next time I go, I will ask for the noodles to be more under done (firm - style I prefer) but believe me when I say the broth was clean and miso tasting and passed 'my good to the last drop' test. The Chashu was thick and charred on par with Misoya Ramen. Last but not least the Fire Dragon Roll. Best for Dine In because it is literally served on fire. The roll is jalapeño, spicy tuna, tempura, avocado, cream cheese, and topped with filet mignon. Yep all the ingredients that make life worth living. It did not disappoint and definitely on par with Niko Sushi. With the check we got a complimentary orange. All in all everything was outstanding. I even drink a lot of water and they kept the H2O flowing. I can not vouch for the entire menu but I can comfortably say the Japanese food was simply good and better than other near by and some Chicago options. I was skeptical. Dine in if you can and as in life, surround yourself with family and friends that make you happy, have low expectations and an open mind and I hope you get to enjoy it as much as I did.

    Boston Roll

I have tried ramen at many ramen specific restaurants....I have found Tasty Sushi to have BY FAR the best in the area! Highly recommend their roast pork ramen! It's DELISH and full of flavor! The all you can eat sushi is a good deal too. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars, is that the shrimp in the Boston roll was pretty rough, and they don't have yum yum sauce, which I know is a plus for a lot of people. Besides that. This is a great spot.

The place has in big white letters on their window "All you can eat sushi" and I've been there for such a few times. Figured on a random Wednesday night it'd be fun to go grab such. So myself and four others got there, the place was nearly empty (only one other table seated), we sat down. Waitress hands us the non-AYCE menus, which were used to them doing on previous visits and we just will tell them we're doing AYCE when they ask what we want. She takes our drink orders, comes back with the drinks, and then asks us what we want to order. This is where things take a turn. She tells us they won't do AYCE because their sushi bar is short staffed. It's an empty restaurant. We ask if we can order sushi in general, and that's apparently okay for us to pay full à la carte pricing for the same short staffed sushi bar. We'd already been served drinks... we had to pay $17 for 5 fountain drinks to be told they didn't have what we came for. We ended up leaving and going to a different restaurant. This all could've been solved if they'd just put a sign on the door, or told us when seating us that they weren't doing all you can eat for the night. It was especially annoying that I raved to 3 of the 4 others in our party how good the food was and they drove the longest distances to be there just for this to happen and we ended up driving to the other restaurant back closer to where they all live. The food may have been good on previous visits but the service tonight was not customer friendly at all and I finally understand why despite how good their food is the place has been nearly empty every time I've gone there.
