All Tattes are so beautifully decorated and the food + drinks are always so good. I love the attention to detail and style of decor. Tatte is always a great place to do a little work or bring someone to catch up. It's also a convenient walk from BU's campus and right by the green line! The outdoor seating area is also really cute, it's so nice to sit under the shade of the big trees and enjoy the good food w a nice summer breeze. It's pretty much the perfect brunch place, and a ton of people bring their dogs to the outdoor seating area. The wifi is a bit spotty sometimes and it's just outside the BU wifi area so that's too bad. If you're trying to do work there, get ready to connect to a hotspot. This is an awesome cute bakery! They have such yummy pastries as well as great sandwiches. I got the turkey BLAT and it was super tasty. Everyone was getting the shakshuka served in a pan and it smelled so good so I can't wait to try that for breakfast. The inside is super open and there are tons of tables to do work. Be warned that if you come hungry because you'll want to eat all of the pastries in the counter! Update: tried the lamb shakshuka and it lived up to the hype. Amazing and memorable breakfast in Boston, it was a great way to start our trip here. Tatte bakery in this location is very clean, inviting, beautifully decorated and serves an amazing breakfast choices. Loved the avocado toast with poached eggs, it was prepared to perfection. Yes Must-try: French Toast This is one of my go-to places and I even bring people who are visiting Boston as a must-stop! The food here always hits the spot for any cravings you are having. I've seen some consistency issues throughout the pandemic, but honestly, I'm so happy they are open that I won't include them in my review. (I haven't had them lately so you should be fine). My favorite plate here that never disappoints is the Shakshuka! Perfectly spiced and seasoned, with 2 eggs cooked to perfection and toppings that vary depending on which one you choose. I recommend ordering with multigrain bread (instead of white) because the combination is even better. I never eat the whole bread so I just take it to go! Last time I tried their new winter plate Cil-bir and it was amazing! Contrary to the Shakshuka, it didn't come with enough bread but the flavor combination was very unique (and successful). If you don't like Garlic, you won't like it so order something else. The french toast is one of the best I have tried! Super thick Brioche bread slathered with creamy and light whipped goat cheese, topped with strawberries and raspberry marmalade - believe me, it's worth every calorie! All pastries and desserts I've tried are great - try the mini chocolate muffin. Also, if you like salads make sure to try their Greens & Nutty Salad (add chicken). They have a new dinner menu that I cannot wait to try! What I don't recommend are their sandwiches... not that they have bad sandwiches but they just don't stand out. You are much better off with other menu items. Non-Food Stuff: Service is always super friendly. Coffee is strong and flavorful. Their branding is beautiful! The one thing I don't like is that every Tatte is so popular that you can't have a moment of peace: stores are usually packed, it's difficult to find a place to seat and when you do are overwhelmed by everything that's going on around you! I'm obsessed with Tatte and can see why it has a cult following in Boston (all aboard!!). I came here once for Sunday brunch and once to get desserts after grabbing dinner at a restaurant nearby. I really like this Brookline location - it's quick, efficient, the staff are super friendly (and follow social distance protocol to a T). I think the space is a tad bit smaller than the Harvard square and Fenway locations that I have been to so orders took a bit longer to get because they only allow one person in to place a order at a time so the queue can get super long! Pro tip, order online and pick up to get your food immediately! There are outdoor seats right in front of the cafe but it's basically impossible to grab a spot, esp during prime brunch hour. But luckily there are a ton of park benches that you can sit and eat around Brookline so my friend and I had no problem bunking down at a nearby park! Tatte is really great at making sure can eat on the go and provide you with plastic utensils sets, a cute bag, and package the food well! I ordered the traditional shashuka which has eggs poached in a tomato sauce and comes with some delicious bread ($12.50). I think the prices here are pretty standard for Boston - obviously super overpriced but given the area, it's normal. This was freaking delicious, especially because I've never had a shashuka before, I was surprised at how healthy and light it was to eat and think tatte does this dish the best! As for pastries, we ordered the passion fruit tart ($7) which had a marshmallow center, passion fruit white chocolate coating, and coconut base. This was a tad bit too sweet for my liking, mostly because the coconut base felt really syrupy and that topped with white chocolate passion fruit made it a little overwhelming. We also ordered the mint key lime tart ($5) with was TO DIE FOR. The perfect level of sweet, tart and crunchy from the shortcake base. The fruit box ($7) was also SO GOOD AND LIGHT, not too sweet because the base is whipped cream topped with fruits and a shortcake base. Overall, the desserts are probably my favorite that I've had in the city so far. They're so unique, beautifully presented and packaged, and they have so many unique flavored that keep rotating. A friend and I stopped in here after driving to Brookline for an REI and Starbucks run. We were in the mood for something sweet, and he remembered having seen this place before - so we decided to try it. It was a drizzly day, so we weren't going to sit outside. There are maybe four small tables inside the bakery itself, all of which were full when we arrived. We ordered, thinking where we could go to sit instead, but an elderly couple was gracious enough to give us their table by the window just as we were leaving the bakery itself. The service is generally nice, and the baked good all seem pretty appealing. I ordered a pistachio and cherry tart, which was good. I later went back for a mint lemonade, though I was a bit disappointed because it wasn't especially minty. This is an adorable little spot; though yes, the prices for some items are a bit high... so I'd just be selective on what I ordered here. TL;DR This isn't my first choice for Boston-area bakeries, but it was nice to try when wandering around the neighborhood after errands. read more

We both enjoyed the food a lot our first time there. We got a delivery today. Unfortunately as a vegan, my choices were very limited and I accidentally ordered the Farro Bowl that included an egg. It was good I ate the egg. But it would be so easy for you to offer some of these options without the egg, although you ought to replace it with something else. For the Farro Bowl, you offered through Doordash the option to leave out cheese. Why don't you offer an option to leave off the egg on many of your items and replace it with like avocado or chickpeas that you have, but state that you are replacing. People don't want to pay the full price for something when something else isn't included or at least there should be a substitution. Pretty easy to do with that tiny bit of effort. If you did such a thing I would gladly promote you on the Massachusetts Vegan Facebook group that is very active. Until then I probably will only order one more time cuz I noticed one main course that is vegan that is not just a a plain salad. Again if you would do a little more to accommodate vegans I would like to continue ordering forever. read more

With hectic lines forming for both their pastries and hot food items, you already know that tatte bakery has something special to offer. That something special is not limited to their pistachio tarts & BALT sandwich. My biggest regret is not being able to try their whole menu as I live in NYC, and I question when I will be able to find savory goods as decadent as Tatte's - they go hard on butter usage for their baked goods (based on my exp. with the croque madame and BALT). Maybe it's for the best that this place isn't close by since my wallet will surely be empty with $7 tarts and $12 sandwiches... I ended up spending $38 for a 2 person brunch. It is no surprise to me that as I boarded my bus back into NYC, I saw a girl with bags filled with tatte goodies. Next time I come, I'll be sure to load up on these goodies because I am in love with both the food and the cafe's aesthetics! It would be nice, however, if they had more cake/pastry options :3 P.S. SHAKSHUKA! PISTACHIO CROISSANT! That is all. Those two items are literally the only things my cousin ever gets here and since she likes it so much, she never tries anything else outside of it. I have to agree too after she brought me here. The shakshuka is a North African dish and was served to us in the cast iron pan. There's an egg poached inside a sauce of tomatoes and spices. Bread is served on the side and I like to dip the bread into the sauce and bite into it. Then I take the spoon to eat up the rest of the dish. Pistachio croissant is super flaky. Good thing we were eating outside because I was making a mess everywhere. I'm sure the birds in the area would not starve since they can feed off all the bread crumbs I was making just from biting into the croissant. There's a delicious layer of pistachio spread inside the croissant and it's so incredibly good since it's flaky, buttery, and just a tad sweet with a light nutty crunch. Shame on myself for being in the Boston area for four years and not knowing about Tatte Bakery! To my defense I don't venture out around this part of town that often, but they do also have different locations as well. The bakery/cafe has an extensive offering of baked goods on display, drink menu, as well as brunch offerings on the weekend! Small little tables for two are sprinkled throughout the cafe with a larger community style table in the center for people to mingle. On my most recent visit, I didn't not have any food but I had their latte. Perfectly made, no complaints. Ehhhh - I'm here to echo some of the more recent reviews and diverge from some of the gentrified city-dweller reviews. When I came in the winter, it was insanely crowded. You couldn't get a table for love or money. The staff were obviously super pressed and milling around crazily. My main complaint is that I ordered a hot ham and cheese croissant with, I believe, bechamel sauce atop it. When it arrived, it was stone cold. But I was too scared to get up and ask for a replacement because who knows when I'd see another one. I also don't see what the big deal is. The quality of the baked goods isn't superb. Tatte did not disappoint! My daughter and I stopped in to this Brookline Beacon street location on a Friday for a late brunch. They have nice patio for outdoor seating and did a good job spacing out the tables inside. The inside was clean and hand sanitizer was prominently placed for customers to use. Even at 1:30 it was full, but we were still able to find a table. The young lady taking our order was nice, and the man who delivered the food to our table was pleasant as well. I know people have mentioned the wait, but the line was short and our food arrived to our table within 10 minutes. The highlight was the food! We ordered the lamb hash, the roasted peach tartine, eggs and prosciutto, and a chocolate croissant (we wanted to try a few different dishes and a pastry). We washed it all down with cold brews. Everything was excellent! Tatte lived up to its fabulous reputation! My daughter is already planning another trip before she heads to college in a few weeks. It's perhaps a little pricy for a quick bite (think $9-$12 for sandwiches), but they have a ton of options - both hot food and pastries, etc. The drinks are also reasonably priced - on par with something you'd get at Starbucks or Caffe Nero. Everything is also delicious. My only (small) frustration is the lack of seating. It's not a great location to sit and get work done. There are very few tables, and it's always crazy busy! The seats are also uncomfortable, so I can never really sit there for more than an hour, which is probably intentional on Tatte's part. Due to high demand, I'm sure they'd like to encourage turnover.
