    Lamb Hash
    Binh L.

I first visited Tatte about 8-9 years ago at a different Boston location and remembered loving both the pastries and the beautiful interior design. So during my recent weekend trip, I made it a point to stop by again, but this time at a new location. This spot is much smaller than I expected, with limited seating and a steady crowd. My friend and I managed to grab a table, but it didn't feel like the best place to work or study, which was a little unfortunate because I was looking for a cafe to get some work done. Thus, if you're looking for a cozy spot to settle in with a laptop, this probably isn't it. If you're here for the food, though then you're in luck! I ordered the lamb hash while my friend tried the lamb meatball shakshuka. Both were delicious. The lamb hash came with a mix of potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, and pickled red cabbage, topped with a perfectly poached egg, garlic labneh, and a bright green dressing. On the side there were tomatoes and lightly toasted bread that paired beautifully with everything. The dish had a great balance of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors. Although the tomatoes tasted frozen, which was my only disappointment. The lamb meatball shakshuka was equally satisfying. The meatballs were tender and the tomato sauce was rich and flavorful, with bell peppers, sweet peppers, parsley, and a creamy touch of labneh mixed in. I was hoping for a bit more spice, but it was still hearty and comforting. Ordering was simple. You place your order at the front, and the staff brings it to your table once ready. The line did get long at times, but it moved quickly, and our food arrived faster than expected. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this location as a workspace, but I would absolutely recommend it for the food alone.

This Tatte is a relaxing place to stop into on a walk after work to eat a light dinner at the outdoor tables. Today I had the turkey avocado sandwich with my grandson. The outdoor tables are nice on sunny days. Although the bakery always tempts me, this is a fresh, healthy option, and the bread is a special treat! The staff is always friendly and the vibe is chill despite beacon st in brookline being such a such a busy area!

the cafe was pretty cute outside and the patio was nice. inside, it was very busy and looked a little sterile... not cozy at all and the baristas were not very friendly either. maybe they were overwhelmed by the busy morning rush. the coffee was overhyped for sure. the coffee had a rich and deep roasted flavor that i liked. the local who recommended this cafe said the coffee beans come from Ethiopia and Brazil (idk how she knew this but i researched to confirm and its true ) the syrup tasted artificial and the latte was very watered down though so i wouldn't recommend especially if you are looking for an iced beverage. I WILL ALSO NOTE: the concept of an israeli-french cafe is so insane i am a victim a local recommended this cafe to me on my first day in boston and me being naive and unaware... i really fell for it ‍ i debated posting this but the people must know + lesson learned to always research new spots even when trying them spontaneously. i guess i accidentally volunteered as tribute to warn you in case you've been influenced to try tatte ‍

My mom and I stopped in for lunch while doing errands in the area. It's a cool little place, but finding seats was a bit challenging. My mom ordered chicken salad in a pita, which she liked, and I opted for the fresh corn & avocado farrow bowl, which was really yummy. The serving sizes were a bit on the small side, so I was still hungry after my meal. I decided to get a pistachio croissant and an almond croissant to go. I was intrigued by the pistachio one as I had never seen that option before. It was very flaky, but I found the pistachio filling to be a little artificial tasting. The almost croissant was definitely better, but didn't have as much almond filling as the pistachio one did. Overall, this is a cute shop to grab a coffee, pastry or something for lunch.

Came here for an almond croissant and cappucino- both so satisfying. But had major breakfast envy when I saw my friend's order of Lamb Hash- looked so good. Couple of outdoor tables to enjoy the warmer weather. They deliver drinks orders to the table at this location (I think you have to pickup your coffee orders at the counter at the Boston locations), so it was a nice perk.

So comforting to have warm chicken soup on a rainy day like today! I think Tatte's chicken and vegetable soup might be among my top favorite chicken soups. It's hearty, tasty, very flavorful and fills you up. I also prefer the beans and veggies (onions, carrots, celery, potatoes) instead of noodles - I feel like it's healthier that way, and the herbs especially the dill really makes it super flavorful. Yummy lunch of good soup and a bread roll. I'm going to have to try and recreate this soup at home!! Not sure it'll be the same though ha ha! Ordered for pickup and it was ready on time so happy for the good service. Hubs really enjoyed his lamb kebab pita too! He said it was creamy savory, and perfect number of kebabs, veggies were crisp and fresh- every bite flavorful!! High marks from the hubs :) Also got an apple turnover for dessert later and I'm sure will be great! Five stars Tatte!

Absolutely amazing!!! HUGE selection of sweets and plenty of menu options as well. Service was quick and although busy, many indoor and outdoor seats were available. Clean environment and they were constantly cleaning up. They didn't have any sugar free syrups, so I didn't get a latte. Would totally go back!

Beautiful coffee/brunch spot that was hopping on a Saturday mid-morning. Every seat may have been in use. I just needed my daily hot latte to go. It was delicious. How can it not be with all that whole creamy milk. Service was quick, despite the busyness. Nice stop.

Wow, don't skip out on the pistachio croissants! Hands down, best I've had! I love a good pastry & coffee spot, this had the atmosphere & tons of options for everyone to leave satisfied. I also really like how clean everything was and the staff & service was excellent.

A place like Tatte Bakery & Cafe doesn't need to pull out any stops or offer any zest, it naturally has that special vibe that is warm, cozy, and inviting. After some fussing with parking my rental car, I was in a hurry to jump into a meeting but then, I instantly felt so good the moment I stepped into the shop. It was like OK, you're here. Calm down. You're all good. You got this, girl! I found a nice perch amongst the bar tops on the side with an outlet for my laptop. Perfect. I was able to order breakfast (Egg plate with goat cheese and tomatoes - so good!) and the same Kale Apple Juice I had last time. Also, perfect. From there, it was smooth cruising through the work day. The breakfast plate was so filling, I actually couldn't even finish it. As my third trip to Boston this year, who knows, maybe there will be a fourth trip in the making before the end of year! Anyway, I recommend adding this to your list of places to visit. Enjoy! :-)

I absolutely love the vibes you get from walking into a coffee shop and catching up with a friend. It's like you've been teleported into the Room of Requirement where THE checklist is checked. The checklist being, MY checklist for coffee shops: 1. Yummy caffeinated drinks 2. Tasty food I can eat while venting 3. Comfortable seating because we're not going anywhere anytime soon 4. Tables where I can pull out my laptop and get the teeniest amount of work done in order to tell myself this whole vent session was productive 5. Clean bathrooms cause coffee always gets me going! Okay so we got: AVOCADO TARTINE My personal favorite every time I come to Tatte! It's their house-made sourdough (their bakery is amazing) topped with mashed avocado, baby arugula, dill, radish slices and poached eggs. It comes with a multitude of different herbs, flavors and textures. Ugh, so freaking good could totally have this everyday! Every bite is perfection and it's also pretty filling. I'm usually full after finishing this off with an iced latte. Delish! BREAKFAST SANDWICH For my chicken tenders and fries kinda girls. Eggs your style (over medium in this case), Vermont cheddar, and applewood smoked bacon on their house-made sourdough. It's simple, but their fresh ingredients make this delicious! CHOCOLATE CROISSANT Like I said earlier, their bakery is amazing. I always split a chocolate croissant here with my sister because she always wants one of these bad boys. Their croissants are made with four Valrhona dark chocolate batons which are then rolled into their house-made flaky croissant dough. Every bite is so buttery, so flakey and deliciously chocolatey. You gotta have one of these, really takes the edge off the angry vent sessions! ICED PISTACHIO LATTE House-made pistachio syrup topped with espresso and milk. Sounds interesting enough? Love, absolutely love. Wish I could make this at home, but it still probably wouldn't turn out as good. It's like pistachios were brewed or steamed (however it works) right into the coffee beans. I'm telling you, if you're a big pistachios fan like me you'll love this! Tastes like real pistachios not the simple syrup fake kind. I also get this with oat milk because I am a lactose "sensitive" girly. Could drink this everyday. SMOKED SALMON & AVOCADO TARTINE This is my sister's go to when we come here. It's their house-made sourdough that gets toasted and topped with some delicious smoked salmon, chopped avocado, campari tomatoes, red onion, capers (my sister loathes capers so she opted not to get them) and dill tossed with olive oil and their special green herbed dressing. Every bite is so tasty and it's sooo colorful making it even more satisfying to devour this. Very filling and hits the spot every time. If you haven't already, you have GOT to check this busy bee place out! It's cute to catch up here, great for studying with headphones, grabbing a quick bite to eat and it's the perfect location for showing someone around Boston for the first time! Highly recommend!

Tatte offers such a consistent high quality experience, and the Coolidge corner location is no exception!! The food is made with care, food allergies are accommodated, and the staff is super friendly. The cafe is well spaced out and the decor is fresh and clean! Love it all around.

The space is super vibrant, filled with bold colors, retro diner touches, and a bunch of quirky statement pieces that make you want to look around before you even check the menu. It feels playful and energetic without being overwhelming...definitely a place that stands out from your typical brunch spot. One of the most unique things about this place is the drink menu. I loved that you can order flights...not just for mimosas, but also spritzers/mixed drink and even coffee-inspired drinks. That's not something you see everywhere, and it made the whole experience feel a little more elevated and fun. Everything we tried was solid across the board. The drinks were well-made, balanced, and honestly just fun to try in a flight format. The menu itself keeps that same energy going with quirky, pop culture-inspired names that make ordering more entertaining than usual. But it's not just about the names, the food actually delivers. The chicken and waffles were a standout: crispy, flavorful, and perfectly paired with the sweetness of the waffle. The traditional breakfast was done right too: simple, classic, and exactly what you'd want when you're craving something familiar. The real surprise for me was the crispy pimento potato bowl with chicken. It was packed and layered with flavor: comforting, a little indulgent, and definitely filling. You can tell they're intentional about how they build their dishes, not just throwing things together. Shoutout to our waitress as well...she really made the experience better. She gave great recommendations, helped us navigate the menu (which has a lot of options), and made sure we picked dishes we'd actually enjoy. That kind of service goes a long way, especially at a busy brunch spot.

I'd come back to try more of their menu, especially if the quiche is involved!

Won't go back. Wish I had pictures, sorry. I wasn't thinking about a review. After a 15/20 minute wait, in an effort to seat us quickly, they sat us at a table that was wet, with water, and sticky from what was presumably the last table's syrup. There were 2 open, used, nips of syrup on the table that they hadn't seen or bothering to pick up. The ambiance/decor was very confusing, a lot of colors and patterns. It wasn't quirky (I've been to quirky done well), it was bordering on scatterbrained? I joked that the place was meant to be visually confusing so that you wouldn't see the lack of cleanliness. We asked for napkins to wipe our table and we were given napkins to clean it ourselves. I mean sure it was what we had asked for but when I asked in the past, someone came over with a rag and cleaner and cleaned it for us so I was a little underwhelmed with that one. Also, the table was visibly not ready because my partner noticed some hesitation in the guy before he sat us and instead of saying, "wait let me get someone to clean it for you" he sat us anyway. The entire placed smelled like a mix of dirty water and wet dog. In all fairness we should've gotten up and walked out but the restaurant was packed, so we were assuming the food must be good and we were hungry. The first two appetizer plates were got were dirty and my boyfriend's silverware. We asked for new ones. The second two were also not exactly clean but not as bad as the first. We opted to eat our appetizer from the plate it came on. We ordered the Some Like it Tot. It was cool, nothing to write home about. Expected it to be more crunchy (they are tater tots after all). I ordered the mimosa flight. Only one of the drinks had any semblance of alcohol in it. They were... oddly not good? Like not bad, but not great. The flavors on the menu sounded like they should've been great together but what served me was disappointing. I got the cookie monster pancakes. Maybe 2 stars. Very mid and uninspired. Unimpressed. The pancakes were middle of the road. Not great not bed. Best thing about this place were the nips of maple syrup. My boyfriend ordered the Monster breakfast. Also mid. The home fries were not well seasoned. Will not be returning. I'm assuming they need to pay their staff better or hire ones who care or can cook. Our server was kind though.
