Absolutely a MUST for brunch here in Vegas. The food is fantastic, and the menu is full of delicious tapas and treats. The bottomless mimosas don't hurt either, until the next day Service was excellent at the bar, but if you want a table, make a reservation. This place fills up fast. The live band (acoustic) was amazing, playing all kinds of covers from a areity of artists. The signature drinks are a great way to start brunch, but the mimosas come in a large variety of flavors. Passionfruit and hibiscus were my favorites. Try the steak fries (delicious and cooked to your favorite. Temp) for a starter to share. It's big enough for two people. I originally found this place when I went to a nighttime event on their rooftop. I ate food but figured it was good because I was tipsy. I had to return when I was sober and now I go at least twice a month for lunch. They're a lively corner spot in the Art's District, ample free parking, always popping, dining area that's family friendly- indoor and outdoor. Bar seating, booth, or table seating available. Bathrooms are actual closed door stalls with a shared sink area. Wall decor appears to change depending on local artist features. Service at bar or table, indoor or outdoor, is always top notch. They are very attentive, friendly, give you the "I wanna get to know you" vibe...iykyk that's why I go back! My personal favorite is the Cesar salad with steak! So mouthwatering and full of flavor. Most of the food appears to be Polynesian infused...they have tapas to full dishes...omnivores to carnivores. Everyone with any palette was included in this menu. Love love love the outdoor seating! They are dog friendly so I brought my dog Zoe she got some plain fries which was awesome! They have angry orchard for gluten-free beer and a very nice cocktail list. Cocktail wise I had the Bash the Flash which is an old fashion with a twist. Another whiskey drink was this rosemary infused whiskey with a rosemary sprig and a dried blood orange on top, called Rosemary's Baby it was amazing. Food wise is pretty much Mediterranean Asian fusion mostly Korean. I had the shrimp kimchi fried rice, mouth watering. The hubby had the Moroccan chicken, it was amazingly seasoned on a bed of orzo. What a great find. First, I love that they feature local artists' art throughout the restaurant. Walk down the halls and view some cool paintings. Luckily for me, they were featuring a few Hawaii themed art. Lol, I loved the "pakalolo." There's a roof top bar, and they have live music and / or a DJ. I don't like giving bad reviews but I have to -- just a waste of $$ tonight. We split the strawberry fields salad. There was literally 2 pecans and no feta cheese. It was a pathetic salad. No flavor. Little dressing. Just bland! And tiny! We both got gyros. The lamb was three pieces of yukky sausage like meat probably microwaved. My friend got a beef in hers. It was hard and not tasty. I asked for no tomatoes and so all I got was lettuce and the three pieces of lamb. That's it!! The menu said gyros also came with onions and peppers. Nope! When we pointed it out to our server she said the menu changes all the time. Not worth $14. So little food! What a lovely place! We had Sunday brunch here. The ambiance was really nice. There was a live band playing and we were seated right in front of them for a good view. The bottomless drinks for Sunday brunch was worth the price! I loved the sangria. You definitely get your monies worth here. We all ordered at the same time and only one of our friends was taking awhile to get to the table but the server acknowledged that and gave him a free cake. That was so sweet of her! All of our food was delicious and I can't even complain about the drinks. It was a more chill vibe than most of these other brunch places. I would say to come here early for parking due to another popular brunch place near by. Came to First Fridays with my friend and she recommended this place as she was a Vegan. I'm not a vegan, but I was willing to give it a shot. Very convenient for us its in the same place as where First Friday. Cute place to just chill and get a few drinks. Wanted to have dinner outside of the strip and not a chain restaurant. Found this restaurant on Yelp and based on the positive reviews, decided this try this place. We were greeted by a lovely hostess who seated us. The restaurant seems to be a favorite of locals. The atmosphere gives the vibe of a cool hangout place with a classy feel. We started out by ordering the follow appetizers: Tropical Shrimp Hibachi, Hibachi Ribeye Steak Fries, and Fried Brussel Spouts. All appetizers ordered were so tasty and had no regrets ordering them. OMG, my favorite of the three has to be the fried Brussel sprouts. I've had Brussel sprouts at many places, but the way they cooked this was delicious. Highly recommend guests to order this and the hibachi steak fries! For our entree we ordered : Fajita Couscous w/chicken, Teppanyaki bowl w/chicken, Mediterranean chicken pita and Hawaii-Meets Philly steak pita. All of our entrees were cooked delicious and very tasty. When we finished our meal, we went upstairs to the rooftop and listen to a live band. The restaurant is located in the Arts District. The vibe in this place is crazy cool with local art and a very contemporary feel. They were switching menus for the season and while both were appealing, the new one was right up our ally. The food - SO GOOD! Honestly wasn't expecting much but was so impressed that I can't wait to go back! Our waitress, Diana, was patient as we sent her away 3 times before ordering, but we ended up with such a wonderful meal. She even helped me pick between two items - boy did she make the right call! I had a flatbread and the crust alone was worth it! My friend got the chicken sando - again, yum! The only hiccup was the tatziki in our appetizer; not sure if it was a Vegas version, but it was missing cucumber for sure and a little heavier than any tatziki I've had. Went here with a friend for an open mic. I was a little confused on where to enter since they had a side entrance. I was seated quickly. I had a couple drinks and appetizers. The performances were enjoyable. It was my first time going to any sort of open mic so it was a fun experience. The drinks were good and so were the appetizers. Going to First Friday is always an evening filled with art, music and good food. We happened to find this place while looking for a cool spot to hang out and eat while letting the heat come down on Friday night. Upon entering, the hostess informed us that they are currently in soft opening. Great with us! The restaurant space is a strange shape with a narrow entrance that opens up to the bar and small dining area. There is another level on the roof for private events but I believe the plan is to have live music and a rooftop area to enjoy. On the backside of the restaurant is a small patio that would be great for fall or spring dining. It is shaded and I believe there is a misting system. We sat at a nice table with a great view of the First Friday venue. We had multiple servers and I cannot remember all their names but everyone was upbeat, funny and positive. We dined during HH so our all small plates, drinks were half off. The theme of the restaurant is Mediterranean/Greek. We each had a refreshing glass of wine. I went with a Pinot Grigio and while my friend enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Our first small plate was the Mango Ceviche. So flavorful, light, sweet and delicious. I see this being a bestseller all summer long. Next we sampled the Italian Falafel (V) which the fried risotto was moist and fresh and paired well with the marinara sauce. We ended with a most unusual quesadilla. It was called the Pink Oyster Quesadilla. This was such an interesting and tasty plate. The pink mushrooms were filled with flavor and the gruyere' cheese took this dish to another level. Service was good although some of the servers need more training. Knowledge of your menu is key when serving, but ongoing training is always needed when a restaurant is new. Our servers were as helpful and kind as they could be. I look forward to dining here again and trying out more of their Greek entrees. read more

This place is super cute, great vibes! It's a good stop for some drinks and food. I will say their food is good nothing above average, I had the burger and it was a good burger but it wasn't great, my friend had the curry and it was too salty but luckily the chef made something else for her liking as she was vegan! So that was super accommodating, they definitely do have a variety of options in terms of food and are very inclusive of dietary restrictions on their menu. Their drinks are also pretty good, I had the pomegranate mule and it was really tasty. One thing about the staff is that they are not very attentive, I wanted to eat my burger with ranch and had to ask 4 times until I got it, but by the time I got my ranch my burger was a little cold lol also their ranch is one of the worst ranches I've tasted. Also, to make up for the fact that my friends dish was too salty they gave her a free dessert coupon so that was nice of them. Even though there was two of us.. All in all Taverna is a good spot. My husband and I just recently had our wedding reception here in the restaurant's courtyard. For a party of 30, it was the best venue ever when I researched a location for the reception. Taverna Costera was winning for pricing, flexibility and very accommodating. From Chef Chris to the venue manager Aili...we were taken care of wonderfully. Our menu was hand crafted, the space was warm, intimate and the cost for the space and food was sooooo price efficient. The Kalua Pig Street Tacos are a must try!!! The pork was tender and moist, the sauce was flavorful with a little spice. It is a little messy, but easy clean up with a napkin and hand washing. The shrimp ceviche was yummy too and tasted fresh. Lots of chips. Oddly, they don't have salsa? But the flavors of the food make up for it. Really great quality too. The Princess Hibiscus drink was sweet and fruity and they were able to make it without alcohol (price was the same as with alcohol). The restrooms are interesting as they are individual commodes and a communal sink area. Parking is actually fairly easy and free. It's possible that this review is just me, because people seemed to be enjoying their food and the atmosphere. First thing we noticed was the front entrance, it looks like the entrance to an office building that's about to close down. The second problem was the band that was playing right next to the dinner tables. Too loud and not a dinner setting, more like a dive bar vibe. The third problem was the service, which was spotty and often took longer than necessary. However, it's quite possible we thought it too long because we were uncomfortable there. The last and final problem, the food: The menu makes an effort at fusion, but really ends up with confusion. My wife ordered minestrone to start and it was served in a giant plate, only it was served more like a stew (almost no liquid) and with a huge scoop of rice in the middle, yes, I said rice, like the kind you'd have with an Asian dish. We both love white rice, just not a mountain of it in a dry minestrone. Then they brought out our main courses while the soup was still on the table making our small table extremely cramped. My wife got the Jack fruit curry. The curry sauce tasted as if from a can and the Jack fruit had no, zero, nada flavor. I ordered the "spicy" crispy chicken sandwich, which wasn't spicy, was burnt and the sauce tasted as if it was going bad. Small note, I asked for crispy fries and they were. All in all, we definitely won't be back. No pics as we just weren't excited by anything. read more

We had some fries and hummus. We had even MORE cocktails. I remember there was a cocktail menu and I ordered some things from that. The atmosphere is not what I was expecting either. The fact that it was pretty empty on a Saturday evening when I went for dinner, says it all. Our first time visiting and wishing we would have visited sooner. The place is located in the heart of the art district surrounding other bars and restaurants and across from the Vegas Theater where we went to see The Laugh Factory. We were immediately greeted at the doctor and every single server that passed us by was also friendly. The restaurant and bar were was very clean and organized and pathetically pleasing with lots of decor pieces. While there, we got to experience live music which was an amazing touch to our experience. Our server was Stephen and I have to give him a special shoutout specifically because he was outstanding!! Stephen interacted with us the entire time we were seated and made us feel so welcome. We engaged in several conversations and he continued to talk to us even when he was exiting the door due to his shift being over. We continued to talk about him when we got home about how friendly he was out. He definitely stood out and one of the main reasons we will be returning. Overall a great experience and a place I would be highly recommending :) Oh yeah - we ordered the adobo pork fries and they were really good. The food was seasoned to perfection, fresh, and a great balance of flavors. The avocado crème was something I've ever tasted before and so delicious! Can't wait to try their other items. The head chief, Chris came out and brought us a couple of dishes to try and told us how he came up with them--which was awesome!!! They had started a brand new menu that day. I had the wrap w jackfruit, cilantro and pineapple and it was DELICIOUS!!! We also had their sprouts, but made vegan. Also delicious!! They had a great variety for meat eaters and vegetarians. The food at Taverna is so eclectic and delicious. The food can be described as pan-Latin and pan-Asian with influences from Spain and the Mediterranean. I have been here several times and am pleasantly surprised each time. The service and ambiance are also very excellent. I enjoy the architecture of the building. I usually come here for networking events, and this space seems to be the go-to meeting place of the entrepreneurial scene in Vegas, and for good reason! The downstairs area is very nice, with art adorning the walls, and there is a beautiful spacious outdoor patio with a fireplace. Excellent for meetings and events, the venue also has an upstairs eating, with a stage and an additional bar. The bartender, Steve, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. There is a very cool street food-style coffee shop within the space called Dragon's Alley. They serve high-quality coffee drinks and snacks with a great staff. read more

Taverna is, by far, one of the COOLEST places in the arts district - they've got just about everything... a full bar & restaurant with revolving menus every few months, a coffee shop, rooftop and courtyard venues where they have live entertainment or something going on just about every day they're open... Just a cool place all around. Also, the people are friendly, 'Arts District' vibe. Fun place to go for dinner, or to hangout for several hours on end and see what happens! Every bartender looked confused and stressed , twisting turning scrambling panic and the bar nor restaurant were not even full. The burger was rawwww, Gordon Ramsay ranting rawwwww. Steak fries had full steps of steak in them.... so you could get 4 fries with a piece of steak, the others left to be drenched in mediocre sauce. Main Street in downtown Las Vegas has really blossomed with business and restaurants and this little gem has got a niche with some great food and a music venue. Came for a later evening dinner Al fresco. Beautiful weather allowed us such the pleasure. We made a couple of selections one from the tapas menu and a second from the dinner menu. The ribeye fried rice and the Mediterranean chicken bowl both were healthy portions and shareable. Nice presentation with great flavor. Cocktails were great too one was a fall themed tasting like a pumpkin latte the second was a rum punch. Both delicious. Dessert was a brown butter mochi with Ube ice cream. Copied straight from my Facebook post that this establishment ignored I'm writing this to explain my experience as a fem black diner in Vegas. I recently went to taverna Costera for dinner. I called ahead of time and was told that I was able to dine after a private party at 6:30pm. When I arrived around 7:30, I was told that I couldn't dine until 9pm due to the private party. Bummer but it was a Friday night and I found a way to keep myself occupied cus I really wanted to try the dinner menu. Upon arriving back a little after 9, I was informed by an Asian looking woman who immediately tried to make me leave (she path blocked me from going into the dining area) & absolutely would not listen to what I was told by the workers there (kept cutting me off). She rudely sent me to the coffee shop to order food. Well then the white redhead wom at the coffee shop, who would barely break eye contact with her phone to acknowledge me, did the exact same thing. She cut me off & barely let me get a word in. These actions to a black person feel VERY racist. I'm not looking for sympathy, "I've never had that experience" or a "have you spoken to the manager" comment. Please be tone deaf on another post. This post is purely to reiterate the black experience. This is not the space for people to shame me OR tell me what I should've done cus the fact of the matter is PEOPLE NEED TO STOP BEING FUCKING RACIST. Or at least open your eyes to micro aggressions.
