I was driving along US1 in Boca and came across this Greek restaurant which I then tried for lunch. The lamb was soft like butter to cut and very juicy. Loved the Greek spices along with the potatos. Sizable portions. Reasonably priced. Big menu to choose from for lunch and dinner. Restaurant has lots of outdoor seating. We go to this restaurant for dinner quite a bit and we have never had an issue. Food is consistently great, so is the service. That's we're regulars and have always recommended this restaurant to friends and acquaintances. However, we ordered delivery for the first time tonight. A basic Horiatiki salad with grilled chicken. We received it with THREE (3!) very slim strips of chicken for an additional $8. This has never been the case when eating at the restaurant. While everything else was good, the very stingy portion of protein for an additional $8 was very surprising m, disappointing and rather lame. They could definitely do better. I don't know why delivery orders would differ from eating on site. Not a good first online order experience. read more

Well ...we returned from 8 glorious days in Santorini & Mykonos in Late September. We had THE best food, Greek wine every day. We have been reluctant to eat any Greek food since we returned because no matter what...food from the country you visit just always tastes better. Our first venture in a Greek restaurant was here based on a friend's insistent recommendation. Sat at the bar. We actually felt like we were back in Greece. Happy Hour diner beware. We've been here multiple times over the years, always for their great happy hour menu. Our experience Saturday was not so great in regards to the items we were charged. The server on the other hand was very pleasant although service was overall very slow; close to 2 hours for a party of 6. (We reserved a table for 5 pm so we could enjoy hh prices). I will preface that we did not mention the charges to staff and left as a lesson learned, still tipping 20%. Some charges that did not reflect the hh menu were: Kendall Jackson Chardonnay, the 3 dip sampler... Also, I ordered the grilled calamari, my table heard my order but the waiter said I ordered octopus. I like octopus, but again, the hh item was grilled calamari. The mistakes added around $30 more. Next time I'll have the check corrected. All in all, I would not rush back. The Athenian Shrimp was salty and the asparagus served were 2 thin overcooked pieces. Pork on the Souvlaki platter lacked seasoning besides salt. BUT the Pastitsio was a winner. If you go, be better than me and speak up. The food was terrible. I ordered the pork chop, which is a common staple for Greek food. I wanted the lollipop chops which they don't serve. Mine was inedible it was so dry. It came with a bunch of mushy string beans covered in sauce that was inedible & for appetizer. the hummus was delicious And tzatziki was over salted the drinks have no alcohol in it whatsoever and they charge $14 a drink. The service was slow at best. I had to keep going up to the bar to ask for a drink or to ask for ice during my meal the next time somebody asks me to go there to eat whether it's a party or whatever I will bow out. maybe happy hour is the time to go definitely not dinner not only was the food bad, but the place was dirty. Taverna Kyma was a one-time fave but we were there on a Saturday night and it is not likely that we will return. We were jammed in to our tables that are crowded together. I had to wiggle out from my seat to use the restroom. It was so noisy, even on the outdoor patio, that conversation was impossible. Our waiter was inexperienced. We waited a very long time for our entrees which he mixed up when he finally delivered them. The pluses are that the quality of the food remains high. The dinining room and the exterior have been repainted and are bright and cheerful and the restrooms have been upgraded. My take is that the management is trying to recoup the cost of the renovations by jamming in as many customers as they can. Not a good trade-off from the diner's perspective. If you want to try Kyma, avoid weekend nights and go at an off hour. read more

We love this restaurant. All the food is very fresh. The Lamb Shank is my son in laws favorite. The only thing that threw us off at first was that the Greek salad does not have lettuce. This place has the best, I mean the best Hummus. My mouth waters every time I think about it. It's totally 100% delicious. 5 yummies on the Hummus!!!! They have a very reasonably priced happy hour. I was there about a week ago and we ate for $35 with tip and tax (this included one glass of wine). We had the Spanakopita - Most excellent! We had the burger bites with fries (they call it something else) and it was not great, just being honest. We had the MELITZANOSALATA(basically eggplant spread) - Most excellent! The house wine was a cabernet and it was quite good. $5 a glass I have had dinner here and it was great. They have a large outdoor seating area that I really like. There is plenty of parking around the back of the restaurant so if you do not want to valet then just go to the back and park. It does get very crowded on the weekends so be prepared to wait as you would anywhere in Boca during prime weekend time. I say get your ass down there, for some wine and Hummus. We went there on Fri 12/24/21 around 4 PM ahead of the crowd. I loved the Greek Sardines and the Greek Salad! my wife loved her Fillet Mignon plate. My other guests chose the Greek version of the Spanish Paella. Their fresh made daily hummus can be a meal on itself! The waiter Deo was very attentive and accommodating! Haven't been here in several years but the food and service is still Amazing! My friend and I sat at the bar during the week and shared the grilled octopus and seared scallops with some happy hour drinks! Was hoping to try the branzino but the fresh fish that is brought in every day didn't come in yet. Will have to go back soon to try it! Frequently dine here as the food and service are good. Tonight, they blasted live music so incredibly loud you could even hear it inside. Looks like they have a full bar but no beer on tap. They do have Mythos Beer in a bottle. Our server was attentive even though he had three tables sat nearly at the same time. The vegetables are obviously out of the can with the preservatives taste and it was cold. Although the worst part has to be the service here it's probably some of the worst I've experienced in quite some time. Our server was walking around snapping his fingers like a moron instead of waiting the tables I would call him over and he just stares at you and just goes to a completely different table you can't make this stuff up, everyone is just completely distracted nobody feels like working good luck seeing somebody crack a smile. i have been going to taverna kyma since 2010. for 12 of those years, service and quality of food was great. service this year has been substandard and the food quality is not as consistently good as in past years. this past monday was the last time i would ever go back to this restaurant....i am tired of getting "attitude" from one of the help every time i go there, who thinks rudeness is on the menu. for 12 years, i have ordered a "long island iced tea". all of a sudden, they do not know how to make them??? no one all year can learn to make a "long island iced tea"?...probably one of the most expensive drinks...you would think they would want to sell a higher-priced cocktail. it took 55 minutes to prepare linguini with seafood. there were only two tables occupied when i arrived, there were more employees than customers and it took 55 minutes to make a pasta dish. i told the waiter with an attitude that i was in a bit of a rush. that did not seem to matter honestly, it is well worth the ride to "chris taverna" in lantana for great greek food and great service "without the attitude" read more

We love Greek food. We've gone to almost all Greek restaurants in the area and I must say, we had to ask which part of Greece this food was from. It wasn't at all like all other restaurants we've been to. Food was smothered in lemon sauce, green beans (I've never been served green beans at a Greek restaurant), pita was undercooked, chicken was lacking flavor (which explained the abundance of lemon sauce), salad was all romaine with 1 small tomato sliced in two, and a small piece of feta on top. Our waiter was amazing, he truly knew how to provide great service. You start out with a generous portion of complimentary hummus and grilled pita. Awesome! We absolutely love grilled octopus....and boy this didn't disappoint us!!! Get the octopus please;).
