In Augusta to visit a friend, and he suggested this place for dinner. He had dined here the previous night and had a bad experience.... So he decided to give them another shot. This is not a "high end" steakhouse. It's full of local casually dressed patrons and they have old Motown hits playing while you eat. Customer service was great...and my Ribeye was "medium" like I requested. I must say that the steak was not as premium as I expected. It tasted like a steak you would pick up from your local low price point grocery store. Was it edible? Yes! Was I overly impressed? No! Would I return? Probably not. Guys from work wanted to go so I went along with them. Firstly they had a sandwich special on a Friday lunchtime - that in itself makes me think things are not good there, Friday lunch time should be one of the busiest times in the week to not have to offer a special. I opted for the ham and cheese melt. It was actually pretty good. I had a baked potato with it which the waitress asked if I wanted it loaded - so I said yes. When I got the bill T-Bonz had actually charged me 1 dollar for that which equated to a big dollop of creamy butter - really. My beef is that the waitress didn't actually mention that it was extra also you would think an establishment like T-Bonz would be able to load baked potatoes as part of the meal with having to charge extra. The meal took quite a while to come out. Lunch meals should be quick and snappy because people don't have time to wait because they only have an hour for lunch. The other thing was that the hostess came up to ask us how our meal was and she didn't even stop to hear the answer from myself. When I looked up my last review - my remark was that the waitress had done this. Whats the point of asking how our meal is if you aren't going to stop to hear the response !! In the end it was just under 13 bucks for a sandwich with a baked potato, drink and tip. Not a great fan of that. I guess until the next time when work want to go there. read more

Beware of all the "up-charges." I was there for lunch. I ordered a steak which comes with two sides. I ordered a salad and the Tommy fries. I asked about extra ranch and was promptly told it was a $.50 up-charge. I appreciated her telling me that. However, I was not told that my two sides were also up-charges. So I start out with a 14.99 meal. Add the 3 bucks for a drink. When I got the bill there were extra charges for both sides and for bacon on the fries. Since when is a salad an up-charge with a steak? That's ridiculous. We never were brought bread. The salad came out with the meal - not before. The real kicker was the attitude of the waitress. She was not nice about it at all - very snarky. Definitely a local flair. I like the atmosphere.. They advertise Bloody Mary's for $3.50 as one of their specials. Since I do enjoy a good Bloody Mary (or 3) I had to try one while I waited for my friends to arrive. I asked for it to be spicy.. The bartender asked if I wanted salt on the rim and olives. I said yes to both.. The drink had good flavor but did not even begin to be spicy. I had to add a lot of tobasco, black pepper and fresh horse radish to get it where I wanted it.. Unfortunately, even w/ all that, I had to manually spice my second one as well.. My friends and I had the Prime Rib, which was very flavorful and cooked as asked (mine was medium rare and their's was medium). The Baked potato and garlic mashed we're good. The blue cheese cole slaw was interesting, but not something I would order again, and the grilled vegetable medley should be avoided unless you like them in an oil. The waiter was incredibly helpful when I asked for a recommendation on what to order and got us our food in a timely manner. I had the fried pickles which was a new experience for me. Very good and unique. The Tommy fries are delicious. The small is still enough for two people. I do not recall the name of what I ordered but it came with fish, coleslaw (with crab meat), onion rings and shrimp. Soooooooo good! My husband and I went early one evening so it was quiet and slow but the food was amazing! We both ordered steak, which was cooked perfectly, and my sides were amazing (sweet potato unloaded and slaw) peanut butter pie was on point! Cool atmosphere with sport and local celeb posters and such. I feel like you could definitely take family/kids here but I think my husband and I will keep it as a date night spot and leave the boys at home! We will be back for sure. read more

The cowboy cut at Texas Roadhouse is 10 times better then this establishment. Started with an appetizer that consisted of what was suppose to be potato wedges, ranch and bacon. It was undercooked and burnt on the skins. I asked for medium rare. I ended up getting medium. Over all the place is very old and needs updating. My server was good and she was on top of things.
