Especially for a small car meet. Very niche right? Especially for the dying breed of 1980's 1990's - 2000's JDM cars. That said, how many guys in the city could you actually get to come here regularly for soy and soy-based accessories, drinks, and snacks? The dessert was okay, and I wasn't in love with the drinks. Hell, I might even stop by more if they imported more car parts, from like Impulse, TRD, or Apex'i. But the way the AE86 market is, it makes more sense to sell online to the global niche. The kindest and most hard-working bakery chef curates cakes here! I am ordering a cake from TC for all of my friend's birthday events from here on. What makes me feel good lately is being able to support local businesses instead of chain bakeries. My friend, who was also the birthday boy who I came to pick up a cake for recommended me TC Bakery! He first discovered TC Bakery when he was looking for a cake for a birthday in his family. I trust Ray with all his food recommendations because homeboy is the pickiest and has the highest standards for food. So when he tells me something is good, it IS good. I came in with hopes of picking up an already made crispy layer cake - I was already half an hour late to Ray's birthday (with good excuses! haha). Arrived and told the sweet lady that I was looking for their famous crispy layer cake with fresh fruit topping. The baker (super kind man) came out and told me not a problem, it'll be ready in 20 minutes. I thought, "sh*t, you're kidding me, right? A fresh cake?! Ray is going to round-house kick me for being an hour late." I indeed waited for the cake and although Ray sarcastically texted me to let me know that I didn't have to go to his party anymore because it's already over, the cake was so worth waiting for. I may have been an hour late but the cake was the hit of the party! The entire cake was devoured within 15 minutes. That is shocking because often time, when we order cakes from Cold Stones or 85 Degrees Bakery, we'd have at least 1/3 of the cake leftover. Anyway, the ambiance of the bakery may need some work but trust. The cakes here are AHH-MAZING! Especially if you're late to the party, a cake from here will grant you a 110% forgiveness pass from the birthday prince/princess. read more

The lady assured me it would be ready in 30 minutes, and the cake turned out to be wonderfully moist and not overly sweet. Years ago, Domie's Mango Cake frosting was fresh whipped cream and you could taste that yummy goodness on their well known mango cake. But in recent years it's been various sorts of white fluff for frosting. Bleeech! But the beautiful cake we just got through had frosting that at least was not as horrible as the other stuff that came on one 4 ~ 5 years ago. That frosting was embarrassing to serve and many guests scraped it off to the side after having tasted it. Prices? As of this writing, a quarter flat suggested for 20 people was $65. We got there to pick up the cake near closing so the gave us a few Chinese pastry that would otherwise have gone to waste with a great attitude. (The pastries were way too sweet for us. The Japanese style bread was good but cut thinner than the normal Japanese version which we we like). Also they kept the cake in their refrigerator when it turned out we needed to call in to say we couldn't arrive as scheduled and needed to get there much later. Staff was great - much friendlier than before. Ought you buy a Mango Cake? Yes, it's delish! But do try asking for real whip cream only as the frosting and ask for the sweetness of your choice. Another hint: if you like mangoes, try asking for this: ask for mango slices on top, under the frosting and pay extra for it. That's what I intend to request. Btw, the cake will last in a cold fridge for a week. Well, at least our's has been slowly being eaten, it's been a week and it's still fresh and delicious. Hello, any preservatives anyone? Recently, I made an advanced purchase of small-sized pineapple buns for a work gathering. Currently the going price is 2 for $2.15. I also ordered some with char siu filling which were 2 for $3. Helps to banter in Chinese here and extra points if you speak Toishanese, as it turned out one of my colleagues knows the folks here. To serve, I brought a stick of butter for the regular ones as well as an air fryer, and the buns were a hit! Sure, I had to do the whole "They're called pineapple buns, but there are no pineapples; it just looks like it" routine for the uninitiated, but they learned quick.
