Wife and I had a little too much of an entre to handle and they offered to take our food and hold it while we went upstairs to their upstairs bar. While we were there for about an hour we were ready to leave. We gave the staff our number that that they gave us to pick up our food. turns out they couldn't find it. I guess the boogeyman ate it or the closet monster did. We were very disappointed since the food was very pricey. I wouldn't recommend trusting their staff to hold your stuff while you get a a drink. This is a very cute restaurant! Valet parking is offered here and can be confusing with the other establishments here. I came for a friend's birthday dinner. I had some drinks at the bar which were fantastic. However the staff didn't seem to be able to service a large party of people. Half the table had the drinks and orders taken while the rest of us waited a long time to be seen. The food here is lackluster in my opinion, very greasy and underwhelming. Pre-COVID review. We came to Te Deseo for a client meeting back when it first opened. I remember it being one of the most aesthetically gorgeous restaurants I'd been to in Dallas! The staff was really personable and attentive to our table. They even surprised me with a sweet wedding "Felicidades" cake that was delicious! Firstly, this restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! From walking up the beautifully lit sidewalk to seeing the gorgeous front entrance, and then opening the doors and seeing a huge tree in the middle of the restaurant. The food is good, not the best I've experienced, but good enough that I went back twice :). And the service is always on point. This is a great place to take a date! Great atmosphere and music, amazing drinks, and decent food. See below for the details: Came in for a late (10:30pm) dinner on a Friday night, and we needed reservations so be advised. The food is above average but not 'great'. The yellowtail tiradito was the best thing we ordered - great flavor with just enough acidity and a great sauce. The flautas and beans were fine but you'd do better at an authentic taqueria for a fraction of the price. Sea bass is tasty but if you look at the photo you'll notice that you can't see the fish underneath all the other 'stuff'. Maybe a little less stuff and just let the fish speak for itself ya know? The flan is very interesting as you get a tres leches disc on the bottom, separated by a 'tuile' of caramelized sugar. I really liked it! But the stars of Te Deseo and the reason it gets 4* from me are the drinks. There are 5 bars in the restaurant including a rooftop bar and it's basically a nightclub late so of course the drinks are awesome. Before we were seated we had a house margarita and an old fashioned - both were strong and delicious. With dinner we had a Smoking Conpanion (whiskey and tequila drink w banana, mole and Aztec chocolate bitters- wow!), Dragon Breath (cachaca and absinthe drink w a lot of fruits) and a Mambo #5 (frozen tequila drink w pineapple). All were delicious - can't go wrong w any of them! Finally, the ambiance is epic as long as you don't mind loud Latin music. The playlist has lots of Bad Bunny, Marc Anthony, and other reggaeton and latin pop. We felt pretty old as the crowd skews young (late-20s, early 30s) but it's a fun place so it's all good. Don't forget to check out the rooftop bar in the evening. I was so underwhelmed and I hate that. I wanted so much more from this really cute place! The atmosphere is ridiculously spot on for the gram!! However, that didn't translate through the food. I got the brisket quesadillas which were a little on the greasy tasting side, and that's all that looked good to eat to me. My friend has the fajita plate and she had to send it back because it was so well done she couldn't chew it. Drinks are okay, and overpriced unfortunately and they really don't do a great job with presentation. Nope. There's so many glamorous restaurants with cool ambiences in Dallas with way better service. Took us almost 20 minutes to get a server to order drinks. I made reservations to celebrate my birthday a month ahead of time. It was simple they have 6 max but I made a note for 8 and they changed it. So that was good. We got to the restaurant, and sat at the bar while we waited for everyone to arrive. The bar was the best part of the restaurant. The bartenders made an amazing drink. You are definitely paying for the location and ambiance. 18$ for guac, and chips in a little bag, cute presentation but we came to eat. This is not the place to leave full and satisfied. Everything is à la carte. They don't have lots of items in the menu so I did not feel overwhelmed. Plans were to enjoy a cocktail and cigar after dinner on the roof top, I had called to see if I should reserve and was told no we could just go up after dinner. Well wrong, you have to reserve. 3.5/5 Rating! Appetizers (0.7/1) : We got the stuffed arepas. We thought the masa was a little dry but the salsa underneath them was good. Cocktails (0.6/1): Initially I ordered the Deseame which was pineapple juice based with Malibu, antiqueño, & coconut. Our waitress said it was a popular drink, but I honestly didn't like it- it had a bitter aftertaste and the coconut chunks weren't it for me. I also tried the Gaviota which was better. It is a grapefruit and sparkling Jasmine water drink with Mezcal. The cocktail names were cute! Hubby got the Arrachera skewers with borracho beans and poblano rice as his sides. Overall we thought the sides were well seasoned and had a little kick. I liked it but my hubby wasn't a fan of spicy rice- I guess to each it's own on that one. The Arrachera meat was a little chewy and had a lot of fatty. Overall we thought the food was good. Dessert (0.6/1) To have a well rounded review we made it a 3 course meal. We chose the Churrones as our sweet. And unfortunately they were just okay. They pair them with a abuelita chocolate sauce which I was initially really excited to try. But the sauce was very grainy- kind of like putting pure abuelita chocolate and absolutely no milk. Idk. The churros were also not very soft and would fall apart. ‍ Service/Aesthetics (0.9/1): I think one of the reasons this restaurant is a top hit is it's aesthetic. The rooftop bar is beautiful, has a lot of photo ops and a beautiful view. After dark it turns into somewhat of a night club with bottle service and music. They also have a cigar bar which I thought was cool. The service was great, our waitress made sure to ask how everything tasted which made it less awkward when I asked if I could switch out my cocktail. Lol The only thing we were bummed about is being told we couldn't sit on the courtyard because it was booked already (we also made reservations) and were there for 1.5 hrs while it was half empty the whole time. So maybe if you want to be seated in the cute area specify that in your reservation. Our bill came out to be $125 with a tip. Overall, super cute place but food was just okay. read more

I ordered a ceviche 2/5, its flavor was overwhelmingly lemon. We ordered 2 more entrees which were simple and small without any impact on its flavor. Here's my story: Me: (Minding my own business spending 95% of the night sitting on chairs looking at my phone because I am new to Dallas and don't know anyone yet.) Bouncer: "You match the description of someone who was recording videos of people. I am kicking you out." Me: (Confused and flabbergasted) "You have the wrong guy. Can you please look at my phone. You, or someone who works here, can look through my phone as much as you like and you will see I have recorded no videos." Bouncer: "I don't care. Other people described a guy who looks like you." Me: "Looking like someone is not always the same as actually being the person. Can I please speak with your manager and they can look at my phone. I guarantee that after two minutes you will realize you need to keep looking because there are no videos on my phone from here." Bouncer: "No, I am not going to let you talk to my manager. You are leaving." Me: "I don't want to be permanently banned from my favorite bar for something I didn't do. Can someone from the staff or your manager please look at my phone. You can look at my phone as long as you like so you will know I am innocent." Bouncer: "The night is just ending early for you. You will not be banned. I know this sucks, but it is no big deal." (The bouncer lied) Me: (I decide not to keep trying to see the manager since I was told I will not be banned long-term and the night is just ending early). Me: (Next day I try to get tacos and I get stopped by the blond haired doorman bouncer) Bouncer: "I cannot let you in here. We aren't feeling it after what you did." Me: "I did nothing. I tried to get the other bouncer to review my phone so I could prove I did nothing. I just sat on the couch for 95% of the night and didn't interact with any other people. He said I was not going to be banned. The night was just going to end early. Can I please talk to the manager about this." Bouncer: "Nope. Manager is busy. We aren't feeling it. Go somewhere else." Summary: I was a customer for months and now Te Deseo is losing revenue from me because the bouncer kicked out the wrong guy. He was too lazy to keep looking for the actual perpetrator and review evidence for TWO minutes that would easily prove my innocence. I was also publicly humiliated in front of several dozen people for doing something I didn't do. The decor and location was beautiful the design in the interior was nice the rooftop was beautiful the staff was pretty friendly and the bathrooms were very clean. Now for my experience first off i tried to make a reservation being that it was a table of 8 people they said we had to come in and do it. So we waited at the rooftop upstairs until we were texted to be seated. To my surprise it was a 2 hour wait for our table which was a a bit crazy especially since we made it to the spot at 7pm so we placed out orders the appetizer came fast which was great cuz I was starving then our meals came my whole table got their meal except me. Mind you I madey order first. I didn't get my food until another 15 minutes so I have a feeling they didn't place my order in. So there's that.
