We stumbled on this local Boba Tea shop during a pass through the town. And we were ecstatic to find a legit boba place that is not a franchise in the area. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. The interior provided unique spaces to hang out and play games including table top fooseball and the universal favorite Jenga. The only downside is there is only one large table with benches and chairs and one small corner table with accent chairs. Once these are taken as they were on our visit, you are relegated to the four waiting area chairs or four plastic chairs awkwardly placed alongside a back wall. However, the drinks more than make up for the seating situation. We ordered our usual oolong milk tea and found new favorites in the ice blended mango with added vanilla ice cream and a High Mountain Green Tea. All were delicious, creamy and refreshing. A definite return visit will be un store for us when visiting the area in the future! read more

My go-to boba spot after indulging in glutinous food at the Yue Huang restaurant nearby, and bc it's the only boba shop in the area. I usually come here on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon after dim sum. During that time it's usually packed with people, which is a clear indicator for me that I'm going to wait 10+ mins for my beverage. Tea 18 has a pretty simple menu: the milky drinks, the fruity teas, blended smoothies and the premium high quality stuff. They tend to keep their ingredients 1 hunnid; so no artifical additives or sizzurp. You can adjust your ice and sweetness to your liking. I mainly gravitate towards the fruity drinks because they typically add in some real fruity bits. Passion Fruit and the High Mountain tea w/ Pomelo are my faves. It's also mandatory for me to add in boba. The consistency, flavor and texture of the boba is always on point btw. I've had the popular white peach oolong but wasn't a fan of it, do to the fact that they left a big tea bag in thus taking away some of the volume of the drank. Don't know if that was intentional or nah? Aside from that, I didn't enjoy that drink, it tasted too concentrated. I'll prolly give it another shot in the future and adjust the sweetness. An upside to Tea 18 is the 10% off check in offer. Downside is the wait time for orders can be long on weekends. Like sit-down-and-grab-a-cup-of-water long, like my-very-Asian-mom-is-coming-inside-to-wonder-why-it's-taking-so-long, long. Subsequently, she'll sit down and ask for the WiFi password because it's taking so long. As I said earlier, the average time is about 10+ minutes. However, the last two times I've been in, the wait was about 5 min. Not bad not bad. They stepping up the speed or maybe I come in at the right time before the masses come. Overall, love the drinks tea 18 whips up, they're reasonably priced. Simple decor and plenty of seating. TLDR: Fantastic boba spot I am someone who often does not get boba pearls and just the drink because I really only like to eat the boba if it was cooked well. Walking into the store, I knew they did it well, the place smelled like delicious brown sugar boba that was freshly cooked - and this was decently late in the day, around 6pm. I knew it was going to be good and it was delicious! Highly recommend ordering less sugar, their 100% is too sweet even for a sugar fan like myself. 70% is what I would consider "normal" levels at most other boba places. I stopped by after dinner at Yue Huang even though I was stuffed because this place had such great reviews. In short: I'm so glad I did, and I will definitely come back the next time I'm in the area! The regular honey boba was decent and I didn't have any complaints on the flavor or texture. They had samples of blueberry boba that day and that was pretty gross. The flavor was good, but it had the soggiest texture and basically disintegrated in your mouth. The service was friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed the tea recommendation the cashier provided. I'm always in sac now. & this has been my go to place for drinks! Keep in mind they do get extremely busy, with covid & everything seems like they have more delivery orders or pre orders. Both were delicious. It is rare that we both order winning drinks at boba shops as one is usually better, or both are just okay... not the case today! At first, I wanted to order the coffee latte but am vegan, and was told that it can't be made with non-dairy creamer, yet the coffee milk tea could. I recently came back to Tea 18 this weekend after eating dinner next door. This was a way better experience than last time! We couldn't decide what to order but then we saw someone else's drink come out with a colored boba. We asked the cashier and she said they had flavored boba!! They had matcha, mango, strawberry, and taro, and even offered us samples. I was surprised they didn't list these on their menu because that's a huge game changer and unique from all of the other boba places in Sacramento! The menu is simple with a good variety of choices, from milk teas, fruit teas, iced, blened, hot, even foam teas. Like all tea/boba store's they have games, board games, but they are the 1st i have seen to update them and get new ones when the old ones get warn out and have lost pieces. In the topping sections i like that they have icecream. It is just vanilla i believe, but Haven't seen this anywhere else. Also they have fresh taro you can add to your taro drinks. These 2 toppings are different for the tea/boba game but i like em and makes them stick out when i in the mood for something different. The blueberry black tea is my favorite 30% sweet and less ice, makes my relax and sip game ahhhhhhh worthy. My absolute favorite boba place in Sacramento! I love coming here for their unique drinks, price, and customer service! I always get the Strawberry Milk Tea, no ice. Unfortunately you can't adjust the sweetness on this drink, so it's always really sweet, but still yummy. I always think about trying other flavors, but my heart belongs to Strawberry Milk Tea. I've tried friends' drinks before though, and thought the Taro Milk Tea and Coffee Iced Blended taste good. Also interestingly they use a more paper like lid, so it's ridiculously easy to stick your straw in cleanly. (I still remember the time @T4 I popped it in and somehow half my drink landed on my friend lmao sorry bud) The only thing I dislike is the parking lot, cuz even though it's big, the spaces are really cramped, and lots of cars like to park over the line...not the fault of this boba place ofc. Recently been seeing Tea 18 advertise three new drinks for the summer, they are colorful and look like a sunset. I stopped in today and found out they are fruit flavored butterfly pea flower green teas; try saying that three times fast lol. Decided to try the strawberry one with no add ins; first thoughts it's VERY SWEET with the strawberry purée, then you taste the citrus from the grapefruit and end with the floral notes of the green tea.
