I've been trying my best to buy local during this covid pandemic and my son's boba addiction brings us to this store often since he likes the mango green tea at this location a lot. The store is currently only doing phone or curbside orders, so you can call in advance or pull up in a stall right in front of the shop and call your order in. The lady will come get your credit card from you, run it inside the store and bring it back to you. My son orders the mango green tea with lychee jelly and he said this location has the best tasting one on the island so far. He recently ordered a jumbo size which is gigantic and will not fit in a standard car cup holder (it's more like a container size that Thai restaurant use for curry). I normally order the iced Thai coffee and while it is good, it's not the same as going to Thang's or getting it straight from a Thai restaurant. Overall, service has always been excellent! I've started coming here every time we visit the in-laws. It's convenient, and they make really good boba - always chewy and perfectly cooked. Service can be slow (there are usually only one or two people working and they make the drinks one at a time) and on one particular occasion, they ran out of large boba right before it was my turn to order (gah! This is my second time coming here. This place has the highest rate among the tea cafes so I decided to come and study here. I ordered Avocado Shake, and the shake was really good. The first hour was good. The owner? (A lady that left us) showed me how to get to the bathroom. It was a few minute walk. There were only 4 chairs in the cafe, but nobody was sitting in, so it has been two hours. I was going to order one more smoothie for my husband, so I hoped that it was okay for me to stay longer. Another lady that was in the kitchen came to the front area and talked stories with other staff members. I forgot to bring my earbuds so I could hear them but so focused on my study. Then she started talking about me asking her staff if I finished my smoothie and jokingly telling her staff that I needed to hurry up. It seems like she thought that I could not hear. LOL. It was so hilarious and extremely rude. I planned on coming here often for the smoothie, but now I am not sure. I'm extremely disappointed. This review is based off my daughters love of this place, a few weeks back i was picking her up from the airport and wanted to surprise her with her favorite a boba. I called this place on the way, and ordered her drink, lady took my order and told me 20 min. At the time I was thinking wow thats a long time for a boba, but when I got there I could see why. This place was packed, 5-10 people sitting/standing on the bar counter area around the windows, another 5-8 people standing in line. but as promised my drinks were made and ready for pick up. This lady who i assume was the owner was the only one there working and boy was she moving and busy. Still friendly enough when taking orders but also quick at making orders, she had a few blended drink orders why I was there as well. but anyway the real reason I wrote this is because my daughter says they don't ask your sweetness level, she normally likes 70ish but they seem to get it right all the time. IDK how correct that is if you like things sweeter or less sweet but she seems to think it is because others have all enjoyed their bobas there as well so I had to shout them out for their secret sweetness tricks. read more

I can't say the milk tea at Tea Cafe is amazing. The milk tea at Hana Tea still has my heart. But the thing I like about Tea Cafe is their happy hours deals. Happy hours are daily from 1 pm - 4pm. Sometimes they have a good deal of buy one drink and get second one half off, which is super amazing. Go with a friend and order up two drinks for the price of one and a half. Their daily special is another hit that I like. You can get a large milk tea or large tea of a kind for $4 through the whole day. Bf got the brown sugar milk smoothie and it comes with boba and custard. The drink was okay. I got the orange pineapple smoothie with boba because I thought the combination was interesting. It was a good balance of both, but by the time we got our drinks, it wasn't a smoothie texture, it was more liquidy. There were 2 people in the shop, but it seemed like 1 person was doing everything. That person was taking orders/collecting payment and making/handing out drinks. She was making both the in person orders AND mobile orders and that's why people have to wait long for their drinks. There were 2 couples behind us when we were waiting for our drinks and by the time we got our drinks, there were about 5 other people added to the line as well as people parking to pick up their mobile order. I wanted to try their snow ice but they had ran out. That didn't stop me from topping my Hawaiian shave ice with condensed milk! They also didn't have any fresh fruit but it was still refreshing and delicious. I was also surprised by how much syrup they poured. Boba shop located in the same plaza as Young's Kalbee. My sister and I shared the coconut ube smoothie on a whim while waiting for our dinner and it was really good! The ube flavor wasn't very detectable as they just smear it on the inside of the cup, but the coconut was very creamy and refreshing. It looks like they run happy hours and random promos frequently. Service was also very fast. I got a large drink and it was made in a few minutes. It's a great place to study as there are many outlets to charge your computer and plenty of parking. So thought I might try it since I live in the area now. I got the signature milk tea ($3 for small). Decent pricing for milk tea. They made it pretty fast. I just paid and I got my milk tea. The drink wasn't too milky. Sweetness in my level was a little sweet but for normal people, it is just right for them. It's real tea when you get an aftertaste from drinking it. That's what I like! You don't get a lot of tea aftertaste at milk tea places nowadays. I'm so glad they don't over water the drink. I noticed they have snow ice and other desserts. There's definitely something for every palate! The first time we went there, hubby ordered the coffee with boba and I got the caramel milk tea (plain). I loved that neither were excessively sweet. To accompany the tea and avoid the heat, we sat in and enjoyed a slice of their NY cheesecake which was very creamy and perfect for the hot day :-)... I would love to say that I expressed restraint and waited a couple of weeks to come back buuuuuut... I'm pregnant- so I have no restraint and momma wanted something sweet!! So we came back the next day and ordered their special which was a large watermelon juice that just so happened to be MIND BLOWING!! I reeeaaaally hope that they keep that on the menu for as long as possible because it was absolutely phenomenal!! We also ordered the cheesecake to go... Definitely one of the better tea/boba places around, especially in the Aiea area. We ordered via Uber Eats (and I've gone in person before) and they had "biscuits" listed, which piqued my curiosity alongside the drinks we ordered. I got a call shortly after that they didn't have any and asked if we wanted to replace it with something else, and when I asked what they had, she mentioned Strawberry Cheetos. Never heard of the before, so I had to say yes! As pictured below, we basically ended up getting some form of sweet asian cheeto puffs which were surprisingly good. Same texture at cheetos, but less "dust" on the outside and more of an infused fake strawberry flavor. Would likely have them again if that was my only option. As for the teas, they made it to our house with ice in tact - boba was soft and tasty, the honeydew and strawberry milk teas are definitely reminiscent of Melona bar flavor. My roommate ordered a regular black Oolong tea, but unfortunately we were given an Oolong milk tea. Uber eats will refund you if you mark that the wrong item was delivered, but I'm surely hoping the store didn't eat that cost - I just wanted to let them know it wasn't what we ordered... Either way, she didn't want it, so I got two drinks! The Oolong milk tea definitely tasted more like tea than anything, which was refreshing after the sugary sweet teas we got. Such a cute little boba tea cafe! There's a mix of comfy seats, high-tops, and regular tables. The vibe is bright relaxing. Both times we've been in, there are smiling faces everywhere. We've tried several of the teas and the shave ice. My favorite so far is the Jasmine Green Milk Tea: not too sweet and good flavor. We came towards the end of the night, so they had almost run out of the larger bobas...which is fine. That just tells me they make their batches fresh regularly--a positive. The boba itself was decent. Nice and chewy consistency, although slightly falling apart/disintegrating, perhaps because we came late at night. I did see that they have egg custard puffs and other snacks on their menu. I'll be sure to try those on my next stop in. The staff is so friendly here and you can tell they pride themselves in customer service. So nice to see a great boba tea shop in Aiea. read more

My daughter, her two cousins and myself wanted boba drinks except for my daughter. She doesn't like boba. We walked in and my daughter wanted to use the restroom so the lady was nice enough to let her use it. We ended up buying drinks. My daughter got the raspberry smoothie which she gives a thumbs up. I got a lychee green iced tea with boba, and this drink was on point. The small was around $4.00 and some change including the boba. Daughter's drink was $3.00 and some change. The inside was nice and the ladies working here were super sweet. There was music playing in the background and there were some chairs inside where you can enjoy your drink. My kids like to go here, so whenever we are nearby we stop by for some boba and smoothie. I was kinda disappointed at this visit to see two girls and a male behind the table not wearing a mask. The younger male who took our order, and the lady who handed our order to us were both using a mask, but the two little girls and possible their father, who was cleaning up wasn't. I just think that, even if it's your establishment, and you are handling food/drink items, you should be using a mask for safety precautions. Wow, another milk tea place in Aiea. This one is located across from Daiichi ramen and Young's kalbee. Unfortunately, when I visited, they were repaving parking stalls so it was kind of hectic and busy. As for the milk tea, it is already mixed together similar to Coffee or Tea. I tried their Jasmine milk tea and it had a nice, rich flavor. I usually ask for half sugar and half tea so it's not too sweet. Once you enter the shop, there are plenty of high tables and lower tables even bean bag like chairs. The menu is simple and not overwhelming like other shops. Since I had a bubble tea the day before, I picked the lychee smoothie small size with no add ons. I liked it. Simple and not too sweet for me. The price $4.25 plus tax. FYI, they take only cash for payment. The service was good. The worker who served me was very friendly and kind enough to bring my drink to me while I was waiting for my order. The parking is the downer for me. There are some parking stalls in the area that are blocked. Not sure if they are trying to repaved the stalls. I ended up parking in the lot across from the Aiea town square. Hopefully the parking lot will be open again. How inconvenient. read more

Another gem we discovered in our Aiea exploration. This place is *NEW* and located in a manini shopping mall. Parking is not plentiful, but we've never had trouble finding a spot. Turns out we tried this place the week it opened. The place is well lit, and the menu is pretty standard of a bubble tea cafe - nothing that caught my eye. They also have a snack section that you can purchase to go with your drink. The shop is clean, and very cute! Like Asian cafe cute. The service was pretty good as they were very welcoming. We ordered: ++ Lychee Slush - Tasted pretty good, very sweet though ++ Taro Tea - Tasted like powder... I hate drinks that taste like powder. I'll have to pass on this next time. I was surprisingly impressed my drink (Lychee), but had hoped my husband's Taro milk tea would taste better. I was disappointed that this was cash only, especially since I spotted a tablet (iPad) register... Anywho, will I return? Maybe if a friend wanted to meet here? This is actually my second time coming here and I've never done a yelp review until today! I'm a boba fanatic and I always like trying new places. Super clean and friendly environment. Great place to hang out. Very friendly staff and I appreciate being welcomed. Lots of parking too so that's a plus! They also use Five Star here. I ordered their signature milk tea w/ boba and it was super smooth and tasted very similar to Coffee or Tea's milk tea. But, I do believe it cost more over there. Boba was at the perfect chewy consistency that I like. Also order their egg puffs which I don't come across too often but just had to try. It was nice and warm and went really well with my drink.
