It was still bleeding by the time I got home so hopefully it doesn't get infected. 3 stars is only for today's experience. Otherwise it's been good every other time and I've been frequenting here for the past year now. I came in today for a simple gel builder fill - single color from the dnd sheer collection, which has never come at an additional cost. I also kept my nails the same shape but wanted them trimmed shorter which also was never at an extra cost either. Getting more into it below: I think Nini was the name of the nail tech that did my nails today and this experience felt really rushed. Appt was at 3pm and I was in and out within 45 mins which is great, I love efficiency but some things put me off like: painting and curing 2 nails at a time, and each time before the light turned off which meant I was only curing for like 30 secs a time, which again I've never experienced and was concerned this wasn't enough time to cure all my nails but it ended up coming out fine. Just felt really rushed and was not the relaxing salon experience I look forward to every month. Another thing she didn't do was match up the length of each of my nails with my other hand to make sure they were all even. My thumbs were noticeably different lengths and the file down was not clean - pics attached. Lastly, when I went to pay I was originally charged $70 which is questionably a lot for a gel builder refill. If you look at the yelp menu, the refill costs $55 and in my past experiences I've never been charged for trimming, reshaping, or choosing any of the colors from the dnd sheer collection, which I always choose from each time I come here. When I asked about the extra $15 charge, they told me it was due to the added design - please see pics as my nails are one single color (dnd sheer picnic for 2) with no designs whatsoever. I asked again and now they said it's because I trimmed my nails (please see the yelp menu as there's no charge for this either and I do this every month and have never been charged). Whatever - I ended up paying the extra $10 because they didn't want to continue reasoning with me AND still tipped because service workers still deserve it, but am not happy with the overall experience. I still enjoy coming to this salon but am now wary of being blindsided again. Just be sure to ask about pricing upfront to make sure this doesn't happen to you. read more

I would always request Emily to do my pedicures too. I honestly would not recommend this place to anyone. I had shown her a picture of something I wanted that they had just posted a few days ago thinking it would be easy to replicate right? No. The older lady was my nail tech and she did not do a good job at all. I think the biggest problem is that there is a language barrier. I couldn't understand her at times. When I told her what I wanted it was the complete opposite of what I asked. I asked for a pink ombré look and i wanted the pink to be darker but she couldn't make the pink any darker so I just accepted it. She also cut my cuticle too much and it bled but I let it go because it was just one. Upon first inspection, it seemed ok. But as I was driving home, I could feel that the flower design was not fully coated over! It wasn't just one- it was ALL of them. At that point I was pissed because I did not pay $65 plus tip for this type of crappy manicure. I called right away to complain and this was at 6:45pm and they close at 7pm. I wanted to come back the same day because I don't have time the next day as I was leaving out of town! They were able to let me come back so they could fix the nails. They seemed pretty annoyed that they had to stay later but do it right the first time. The older lady tried to fix my nails and I had asked for more glitter on the top portion of the ombré and she proceeded to do glitter on all my nails..... I spoke up because that isn't what I said! It was obvious in my voice that I was not happy with the result so the younger girl took over. She did a good job fixing and redoing my nails. I wish it was her from the start because it seemed like she was the nail tech behind the original design in the first place. They definitely thought I was annoying because I was telling them specifically how I wanted the flowers and glitter placed. This is a form of art and I think nail techs should work with the customer to make them happy. I am grateful that they tried to fix it but it was annoying to have to come back and waste everyone's time when it should've been done right the first time. Edit::: Just after 1 day! This is specifically for the pedicure! This a small nail shop that can be easily missed and passed from the looks on the outside. Once inside it has nice white walls, simplistic yet nice. I called at 11:20 to see if there was availability for the day and they were available to accommodate me at 12pm same day. There was only steeet parking available and the area has other businesses so you might want to come a few minutes earlier just to find parking! Upon arrival they had me check in and said that they have a check in system where we also include our birthdays so we can receive 20% off! That's super cool! After; they offered me tea/coffee/ water. I did not have to wait at all. Nini was the one who did my pedicure and I absolutely loved her. She really worked on my toes. I admit I don't have the easiest or prettiest looking toes but she did a great job removing the excess skin and giving it a beautiful normal illusion. Both my big toes are ingrown and have harden over time so it's always hard to find a good person to do a decent pedicure. Most do the bare minimum and my toes look the same as how they came in, but with polish. This was the not case with nini! Thank you so much for a positive experience! Been here twice. Love that they are super responsive on Yelp to see if I can do a same-day or walk in appointment and they have always been able to fit me in. The first time was great, good level of quality work for a gel manicure comparable to any other nail salon. The only issue we had was trying to find the exact color used in my nail inspo photo. My technician work VERY hard to find the best color and even consulted with the other staff around and the owner on the phone to find what was best. I REALLY appreciated her hard work and my nails turned out great! I came back a couple weeks later for another gel manicure as my last one eventually chipped from too much busy work with my hands. And guess what, they fit me in same day again! Amazing! But here's where it got sticky: I was assigned a younger nail technician and she looked to be younger than average, maybe no older than 32 and even that might be too high. But I really appreciated her care, good attitude, and that she liked to explain things to me if I had a question. Great communication. But the entire thing took 2 HOURS.... That has never happened to me before. I caused me to be late for my next appointment. But I think the issue was removing what was left from my last gel manicure. That definitely took a lot of time but I did notice that my technician was very careful and thorough, using a large variety of nail bits to make sure the nail had no old gel and was even, clean, and treated for a new one. She handled my nails very carefully and always made sure to ask if she thought anything was hurting me. I really appreciated that because most nail techs I get don't bother to ask that. We did have another little hiccup with the color again (same color as last time) but it took less time to find another solution. She even helped me come up with a game plan for the next time. Towards the end I think I did get the impression or overheard that she was new so it explained a lot and made me more patient and understanding. All in all, my only gripe is that it took 2 hours for a simple gel manicure with removing old gel. But I would still come back again for the good service. The service here is really friendly, and aesthetically and just cleanliness-wise this place is above the rest. I only came here to get my gel X extensions removed and to do a manicure after, regular polish because I wanted to give my nails a break. The gel x that I got done before was not done well at all, and they definitely let me know a few times lol. I don't get my nails done often, but this is the best extension removal I had. They do a warm soak, and they used the drill bit to really take off everything. It was gentle, and they used the drill the whole time vs scraping the glue off or peeling it off my nail. It's the best anyone has ever done. Still, the nail is thinner but that's to be expected and she was honest about it and said so. I really like the fact that they used a padded wrist holder for comfort and ergonomics and they used a fan thing that sucked in all the dust particles onto a paper. It just shows that they care about the worker's health as well as the customer. Everything was very nice and clean, and she even had me wash my hands before the manicure part. (NOT EVERYONE DOES THIS WHICH IS CRAZY) I do like their honesty, she didn't recommend a manicure, but Ijust chose it because I felt bad for doing just a removal, and I wanted them to not just remove, but clean up the cuticle and buff the nail bed, etc. So we kind of discussed it, and I said I don't want gel because I want a break from gel and I usually just go home and put clear polish, but she suggested using a treatment so the nail can grow. I have sensitive skin (psoriasis), so it's important for me to find technicians who are gentle. Tina did a great job on my manicure and Kelly on my pedicure. The cuticle cutting and nail shaping was done with care, which I super appreciate, because other places have rushed and cut me. This was not the case here =) I also appreciate that they didn't make me feel awkward when I told them I have psoriasis - they didn't make a big deal about it and had no issue avoiding my plaques during the sugar scrub. I've gotten acrylic to try and fix the shape, but as we all know, it's not good for the toes. price: kind of on the pricey side, but for the attention to detail and taking their time, it's worth it. 3% service charge for using credit card. You can tip with zelle/venmo. Other yelpers have mentioned that a service takes a long time, relatively compared to other nail salons, that's correct.
