Definitely won't be going back. I needed a gel set on natural nails for a wedding and thought that one hour would be plenty of time (my normal nail place does a set with design in about 45 mins), but over an hour later, they only finished the base. My original reference photo included nail art on top of a cat eye base, which they said they would be able to do. When the person saw my design in person, she said that she didn't know how to do it and had to consult someone else. I was in a rush and had to leave an hour and 15 mins into the appt, so I just got the basic cat eye base. Originally, when I booked the appt, they said that it would be $35 for the gel and $40 design estimate for the reference photo, but I was charged $50 for the cat eye base with *no* design. I agreed to pay and tipped, but I felt pretty ripped off about it. read more

Came here for the good reviews on yelp... I've had gel x extensions for years . My girl was busy and I was in dire need for a new set for an upcoming trip so I came here and wow oh wow it was bad!! First nail came off the next day .. they fixed it the next day. Two weeks later , another one comes off ! My nails usually last several weeks . Never had I had a nail come off . Also just a side note ; if you are sensitive ; don't come here . Ladies here have no filter. As a full time working Mom/professional, I love supporting local Mom + Pop shops, especially Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) boutiques. I had an appointment scheduled today at 4:15PM; however, was 10 minutes late due to traffic. Upon arrival, I learned that that my appointment was given away. I was asked to come back later or reschedule for another day- because all their technicans are now "fully booked," with a client. I was really disappointed. I had checked their policy and no where did it mention anything about tardiness. The fact that they gave my appointment away after only 10 minutes was so unreasonable. During that time, no attempts were also made to reach me, even though they had my phone number. I also understand that I could have called the boutique myself, to provide them with notification- but trying to dial the phone while navigating traffic wasn't ideal, nor would I thought my appointment slot would be given away after only 10 minutes. Sad to say, I left the shop with undone nails- but that's ok. Other than this incident though- the technicians and owner is really nice and friendly. I have found my new go to nail salon! Everyone is super attentive and welcoming. For those complaining about the price, you get what you pay for and their prices are reasonable for the service they provide. I paid a total of $137 before tip for a gel mani with design and rose pedicure. Nini did my gel manicure and she was quick but very detail oriented and I love love how my nails came out. Super simple design but you can see the detail she put into it! Rosa did my rose pedicure with French tip design and it was so relaxing. They put in a lot of good ingredients like minerals and essential oils and even real milk and my feet feel brand new. Usually when I get both a manicure and pedicure done at the same time it's not comfortable but I was very comfortable here. They greet you and talk to you by your name which is super nice and definitely a different experience. Also I'd like to add that I am a licensed esthetician and it's hard to find a place where tools are clean and everything is sanitary. This place keeps their tools clean and I can walk out without being scared of an infection. Definitely coming back soon! read more

Tina did a great job on my gel x nails. It was my first time trying them and she made sure to thoroughly explain the process before I decided on them. She was very friendly and my nails came out beautiful. I was so happy with them and received so many compliments. It's been 3 weeks and they are still in good shape. Their services are a bit pricey but they do a good quality job. They also take their time and do not rush you out. I moved to MPK almost 2 years ago and I've been coming here for... I wanna say almost 2 years also. First and foremost, they allll learn your name so they can greet you by name when you show up to your appointment. They make it a habit to remember you. Which I appreciate. Especially if you become a regular. All the techs here are great. I've had almost all of them do my nails at some point. I just get hard gel builder on my natural nails and let me tell you. Kate is my go to girl. She's so meticulous. She takes her time. She doesn't rush. My nails always come out amazing. Today I went for my appointment but Kate is on vacation so Ally was my tech today and she's also amazing. She also didn't rush and she was very meticulous with how my nails came out. First let me start by saying this has always been my go to pedicure place before when it was called James Nails since it's conveniently close to home. I came in to get a pedicure , they handed me a laminated page where it explained the different pedicure options, I saw their basic gel pedicure was $45 and that's what I selected while doing my toes the nail tech suggested I add the callus remover which I agreed to do . However once it was time to pay the prices seemed to have changed . Gel pedicure went up to $50 , callus remover was an additional $12 & the nail tech added nail art tier 1 when I didn't even get any art on my toe nails . They were plain white gel . She never explained what that charge was on my bill . So the total came out to $72 for a basic pedicure . Not including the tip I still gave . I walked out confused and annoyed and will not be returning. *****update**** After I posted my original review , someone called me and then text me 3 min after. Offering me $5 back when there was a $15 up charge is insulting. I stand by my review and will not be removing it . read more

First time visiting after following their instagram for a bit. They were having a Valentine's Day promotion. I believe it was Nini who helped me get checked in. She was super nice and attentive with removing the gel extensions I had on. She made sure there wasn't any pain and kept checking in. Tina was the one who did the manicure and gel design. I pulled up my reference photo for her. She was meticulous and made sure to clean up around the edges. Nini helped make sure I was comfortable throughout the process by turning on the massage chair and offering beverages. Regarding parking since they don't have a designated lot, keeping in mind I came during the evening on a weeknight, there was plenty of spots in front. I went to get gelx yesterday and I was there for 3.5 hours and didn't even get the nails I went in for. I had to change it after 3 hours because I just wanted to get out. I had plans and I was late for them. My friend had very nice detailed nails and she finished before me. They're all nice girls, but every time I look at my nails, I'm just reminded of the bad experience I had yesterday and I've never been this unhappy with my nails until now. I'm very easy going and flexible. If they couldn't do the design all they had to do is tell me and I wouldn't mind we could've changed the design or done acrylics. But having to sit there for 3 hours with "trust the process" mentality only to be disappointed in the end isn't it. The frustrating thing is they didn't say they can't do it with gelx until 3 hours later, but I walked in asking if they could do this and they said okay. I've been here other times and I really liked my nails even though they weren't perfect. Some minor cuticle pain my last time (I bled a little after and was sensitive on the side of my finger) and from yesterday my thumb is still sensitive from the cuticle care and drill. But I was happy with the results. But this last time really left a bad taste in my mouth. Also my friend heard that they wouldn't charge me but I guess not, they ended up charging me $65 but if I knew I was going to have the nails I have now, I would've not gotten my nails done at all and saved my time and money. Upon arrival, everyone was super welcoming and the salon looks like it is well maintained. I was offered delicious vietnamese hot coffee, which was a nice touch. This was the first time I've tried gel-x nails. I airdropped my inspo pic to the technician and she quickly got started on all of the base work. She was very detailed and careful but she did knick my skin more than once which caused me to bleed a bit. The gel-x nail set allows you to pick from a wide variety of nail polishes, even japanese presto (typically extra $5). I believe typical gel-x nails are $65 but cost more depending on the design. My nails took 2 hours and cost $101. You are able to tip your technician directly through Zelle or Venmo. It has been a little over 3 weeks now and my nails are just as sturdy as they were when I came in for my appointment. I am excited to come back again in the future. read more

Service was prompt and thorough. The facility overall was comfortable and clean. Everyone here is professional and friendly. Kristina, the receptionist was nice and knowledgeable. She went through all of the services that can be done for a man and kept checking on me while I was getting the service, as well as drinks. The service was a lot better than what I expected. I choose the Rose package for my pedicures, which smells good and is relaxing.
