red bean smoothie, taro green tea latte
    Jeruby M.

DELICIOUS! I was exploring the area and had to stop by and get a drink here because it looked good! I got the taro green tea latte and it was a 10/10! The barista gave us a free drink to try which is the pink and yellow one in the pic, and it was soooo good! it tasted like a strawberry mango slushie. He was so sweet and patient because we did not know what to order, so the fact that he gave us a drink to try was very kind. I definitely will be back to try new flavors!

Really like the bubble waffle at Tealicious. Just the right texture and flavor. I also had a red bean milk smoothie which brought me back to my childhood memories. The space is great for socializing with friends. Kiosk for ordering and the staff was friendly and helpful on getting our order right. Would definitely come back. It's a good place

The bubble waffles were such a great sweet treat. we dropped in here, after having lunch nearby, before heading back to the city . I ended up just getting the regular bubble waffle. Man, was it good! Perfectly sweet. Freshly made. And perfect texture. I skipped the ice cream since I was having it in the car but kinda wish I'd add some. Regardless it was great.

About a 2.5: Tealicious Bubble is located in DT Evanston, and seems to be a popular spot for the local high and NU students. Their menu offers various lattes, milk teas, smoothies, and fruit teas, as well as bento meals, egg waffles, and soups. I ordered: +the Japanese Matcha Strawberry Latte - this was not a good drink at all, as it was flavorless - I was confused in how it could be so since it had strawberry puree in it; it was super watery and was tossed +an Original Egg Waffle - this was pretty good - I think it may have been slightly overcooked, as it was more browned up and more 'crispy'; however, the batter that they used was good flavor Staff were friendly, but they seemed a bit overwhelmed with any additional customers that may have walked in. I had to wait close to 30+ minutes for my order, which I thought was kind of ridiculous. Extremely limited metered street parking around the area; your best bet is to park a few blocks away, if you're driving. +avoid the drinks +slightly overcooked egg waffles +overwhelmed staff +limited metered street parking

All i can say is WATERMELON STRAWBERRY BLACK TEA. omg! I love this so much I keep craving it. I also ordered 2 bubble waffle which i didnt eat right away and it was still so good when I had it. The only complain I have is parking is soooo freakin hard!!! Lol Can u please open a branch in skokie? We need a good bubble tea place here. Lol Kidding aside (but not entirely kidding with openong a branch in skokie lol) I would go back again and again and again just for the Watermelon Strawberry Black Tea. But definitely want to try more drinks on the menu.

Tealicious is located in downtown Evanston. When you enter there's a long ramp but once you get inside you're greeted by a squishmellow wall! I had the Japanese Matcha which was a bit watered down but it was super warm inside so I'm thinking it melted super quickly. But what I LOVED was the matcha egg waffle! You could get it with ice cream and the fixings if you wanted but I wanted to try it by itself and it was DELICIOUS!

I got the Jasmine green tea with boba. The service here was speedy and the staff were super friendly. They offer a wide variety of boba and beverage options. This is a great place to hangout with friends or to go on a date, I highly recommend coming here. The interior and ambiance was nice! The area was clean and the lighting was sufficient. It's in the heart of downtown Evanston so it's a great location to do plenty of activities nearby.

Such delicious bubble tea!!! I Go the passion fruit green tea and absolutely delicious. I wish there was more locations! There's this plush wall inside to take pictures which is so cute. Plenty of seating to chill.

I love the strawberry matcha latte here. It's layered in the cup, so you can see the strawberry tea at the bottom, a milk layer in the middle, and the matcha on top. And even after it's all shaken together, you can still taste both the matcha and strawberry. Not all boba shops can do that successfully. I also tried their bubble waffle with ice cream topped with fruit, which was delicious. The matcha waffle doesn't really have a discernible matcha flavor, but it does make for a cute picture for the gram. And isn't that what we're all really after?

April 2023 - Thai Milk Tea & Taro Bubble w/ Milk, popcorn chicken, matcha egg waffle and regular egg waffle.
    Jenny K.

I have been craving Thai milk tea for the last couple weeks and finally decided to grab it from Tealicious Bubble on my day off with my mom. When I saw that their menu also had egg waffles and popcorn chicken, I ordered those as well. And even though my mom said she didn't want anything to drink, I ordered her a taro milk tea with taro balls. I've been here before for bubble tea but I never had any of the food. I would rate this experience a 2.5/3 based on the food alone. The popcorn chicken today was a miss. It could possibly be an off day for them - they were totally besieged with orders once they opened so I'm not sure if that played a roll. The chicken pieces weren't properly battered. Taiwanese popcorn chicken should be lightly battered...this was more like sparsely battered. I've definitely had better popcorn chicken. The egg waffles were a miss too. They tasted mediocre. In my opinion, the best egg waffles you can smell a mile away. These weren't like that. The matcha one had a very very faint matcha flavor. If it wasn't for the color on the egg waffles distinguishing the difference, I would've thought both were the same ones. It was quite disappointing since I know there's another spot just 5 mins away that does egg waffles really well. What I really like about Tealicious Bubble is that they have a lot of non dairy options and that you can substitute a non dairy milk with no additional cost. I requested about 25%/50% sweetness for the Thai milk tea and it totally hit the spot. It's my first time trying the taro from here and I was surprised to see that it was fresh and not the usual purple powder. I can see why Tealicious Bubble made it to Yelp's Top 25 Places to Drink in the Chicago North Shore - they do drinks well.

Traditional Wintermelon Milk Tea - Large with taro boba

Such a cute plushie wall that's great for photos and LOVE this place for their taro boba! My go-to drink is the wintermelon milk tea with taro boba! They are nice and let me substitute the regular boba for taro boba free of charge. Not many boba shops (or really any...) offer taro boba as a topping and they do it so well here. Tastes a little more like taro mochi in texture, but authentic taro, not artificial. I live in the city but will drive to Evanston to get boba here--that's how much I enjoy the taro boba! The drinks are all good and made with real tea too. A bit on the sweeter side so tone down the sugar level if you don't like yours as sugary.

    Mango Matcha Latte

the mango matcha latte has no mango taste and tastes like water. the boba is decent though.

    Taro Bubble Green Tea Latte
    Sam L.

This might be my favorite place for boba in evanston. The food is nice and the prices are pretty standard, but the drinks are really great. I always get the taro boba milk green tea, which is delicious and maybe one of the better taro teas I've tried. A lot of the other flavors are really good too, and they have some unique ones.

There aren't many seats available so it feels like a semi boba shop as well. To sum it up, I would say it is ~70 to 80% authentic, which is not bad in my opinion. Braised Pork Over Rice 招牌滷肉飯: The presentation was beautiful and the flavor was actually pretty good. In Taiwan, this dish is usually more on the sweeter side, due to the sugar and shallots added. Here, it is more peppery and savory, and the flavor was actually really good. The beans and the mustard greens were very delicious as well. Even though the flavor profile is slightly different, this was well made and something I would come back for. Noodles with black pepper sauce 胡椒鐵板麵: traditionally this dish is called蘑菇鐵板麵, which uses mushrooms, black pepper and other sauces as a base. The flavor was good, but I wish that there were more mushroom and sauce to balance the black pepper. In my opinion, this dish tasted very different from what I used to eat, but it is not bad on its own. 2/4 Fried pork chops: the meat was fried very well, and it was pretty peppery and crispy. However, I think there are different spices and flavor missing, including white pepper, msg, garlic, Thai basil, cayenne pepper, and more. I wished that the savoriness and spiciness popped up more, and I thought the spice blend and the marinade could definitely use some improvement. 3/4 Beef noodle soup 牛肉麵: I thought the bone broth was pretty good, but I believe the flavor profile should be wider, like tomatoes, five spice, 豆瓣醬, soy sauce, and more. It was a stripped down version, and I wished that is reflected in the name of the item (renaming it "clear soup" etc). Also, the amount of meat they gave us was a little bit pitiful (there were like four pieces), and there were two pieces of bok choy. When Taiwanese people eat beef noodle soup, we definitely expect more. 2/4 Additionally, I wish the drinks were made with some fresh ingredients (not just syrup or creamer), as standard/good quality boba shops from Taiwan try to make drinks as fresh as possible. That is high ask, but I just wanted to note that as a suggestion for improvement. Overall, I thought the food was pretty decent. Would I say it is the most representative Taiwanese restaurant in Chicago? No. The staff was actually Chinese loll. But I do think it reminds me of some flavors and food I grew up eating in Taiwan. If you like popcorn chicken and pork, it is likely a good place for you.

Solid, tasty taiwanese food!…read more We enjoyed a mix of dishes (chicken bento box for me, beef noodle soup for my boyfriend, as well as fries with Thai seasoning and a boba tea for me). The green beans came as a side with my bento box and were amazing. The ordering system is a little clunky and annoying but we got through it. Vibes in the space are fine, it's an efficient little cafe The biggest thing is that there's really an opportunity for more sauces! For the fries, for the popcorn chicken, for example, a sauce would make a big difference to dip it in. I like this place and expect to be back

One of my friends who went to grad school in Chicago (whose food recommendations I trust with my life) told me I had to check out Hello Jasmine, so I hopped on the bus. I'm so glad I did. The cafe itself is ADORABLE. I happened to visit just before Halloween (10/28), and it was decorated in the most charming "spooky cute" way. There were little Halloween touches everywhere, and someone on staff is very clearly a Harry Potter fan. It somehow managed to feel festive, cozy, and cheerful all at once. I ordered the matcha fresh boba milk tea with fresh milk. My default is always 0% sugar because my biggest beverage pet peeve is when drinks are too sweet. (Despite being an ABC, one thing that definitely survived is my instinct to say "not too sweet, please".) The cashier gently talked me into getting 30% sugar because she said the matcha could be a little bitter otherwise. She was absolutely right. 30% percent was perfect. It was balanced, smooth, and so good that I accidentally drank it much faster than I meant to. (Oops.) I also ordered the pig blood rice cakes (made them spicy), and wow. I don't think I've ever seen these anywhere in Boston. They were seared, spicy, savory, just a tiny bit sweet, and 100% delicious. I was so excited to find something that felt a little harder to come by. 11/10, I would absolutely come back. In fact, my only complaint is that it wasn't closer to the convention center. I probably could have expensed lunch there, and honestly, those corporate dollars would have been much better spent here than on conference catering. I wish I lived in Chicago just so I could stop by more often. Hats off to Jasmine and the staff. It feels bright, authentic, and full of joy. I imagine it's exactly the kind of cafe where students go after a long week to recharge over a really good drink and something comforting to eat, and I'm so glad it exists.
