My fiance and I decided to give this place a try because we were in Evanston. I had the brown sugar bubble with milk and he had the mixed fruit smoothie. We also ordered the original bubble waffle. Overall, our experience was pleasant. They offer the option to make your drink more or less sweet, which is a huge plus because often I feel my drink is too sweet when I order bubble tea at other places. The bubble waffle was interesting, but surprisingly it wasn't as sweet as I hoped. It did not compare to a dessert or pastry... It tasted like a less sweet pancake/waffle which a drizzle of honey, maple syrup or powdered sugar could have improved. read more

Great stuff here! Got a few bento boxes to go and a couple drinks and everything was delicious. Note that if you want to order take out, if you're planning on picking up, you can order directly on their website and get 10% off! We got the strawberry smoothie and the mung bean smoothie. The strawberry smoothie was ok, but the mung bean smoothie was out of this world. I haven't had a mung bean anything in years, and so this was a blast from the past. Perfectly sweet, still had some texture and the quintessential green bean flavor. I got it with half the sugar, even then it was pretty darn sweet, so I'd recommend 50% if not less sugar to not give yourself a sugar attack. I'll be ordering a large next time I go! We also ordered the chicken teriyaki, the minced pork cucumber over rice, and the pork belly over rice. Being Taiwanese, coming from a mom who cooks Taiwanese often, and having grown up in SoCal (Taiwanese mecca) and traveling to Taiwan often as a child, I miss my Taiwanese food and this hit the spot - yay! My mom usually makes minced pork cucumber into meatballs which is one of my favorite dishes, and this minced pork cucumber over rice dish was an easier way of getting there. The pork belly was also very flavorful, had a good ratio of meat to fat, and while only had 5 pieces, I realized that was more than enough for a meal. The side dishes vary, and I would've loved to get the tomato egg combo they have in their pics, but instead they had cauliflower/broccoli cooked in some sesame oil, corn, and a soy sauce egg. Loved the soy sauce egg, it was well executed for a drink shop, had great flavors with still tender egg whites. The corn was good and balanced the umami of the rice and sauce. The cauliflower and broccoli could've been cooked a bit longer, it had some bitterness still to it. All in all, they're not the cheapest, with the above costing about $50, but it hits the spot if you're looking for boba, Taiwanese drinks, or some fast casual Taiwanese bites. I am an Asian transplant and I have been a boba tea fan for years. In Evanston I used to get my boba tea from Kungfu Tea or Joy Yee. But after Tealicious opened, it's the only place I will buy boba tea from. First, it's the super soft, fresh bobas that come in a variety of flavors - I love the brown sugar balls and taro balls. Made from scratch, they are chewy and smaller than the usual boba. Next, they don't use HFCS or powdered flavorings, they are all natural. The mixed drinks are awesome, and the flavor of the tea is so intense and authentic. Prices are good too - 3.99 to 4.99 which is cheaper than Joy Yee. You can say Joy Yee gives you twice as much smoothie boba for a bit more money but hey, who needs a lot more of tasteless sugary stuff. My absolute favorite at Tealicious is the herbal jelly ice... it's like an ice mountain on top of taro boba and red mung beans and grass jelly. The grass jelly, also called herbal jelly, is softer than any grass jelly I have had before. The drinks on the sweet side but you can ask for less sugar - they have 4 levels of sweetness for you to choose from, I usually go with 1 or 2. You can also choose from 4 levels of ice... I always go with 1 or 2 as well because I'm a greedy pig and want as much boba tea as possible, bwahahaha! Don't forget to try to popcorn chicken. I was a bit hesitant as I am not usually a fan of fried chicken but Tealicious makes amazing chicken snacks - they appear to be dark chicken meat nuggets deepfried with five-spice powder. They were a tad too salty for me, which made me down a lot more sweet boba tea... all of them go down together very nicely. read more

Came here today for the first time to pick up some bubble tea. It's a really cute place! Hand sanitizer out on the counter and everyone is wearing masks. Friendly staff. I like that their menu isn't as overwhelming as some bubble tea shops, but there are still plenty of options for all. I got the taro green tea latte which was really good and my boyfriend got the cookies and cream milkshake, delicious! Their tapioca pearls are tastier than a lot of places in my opinion. Went with couple of my friends. One hot peach tea, one cold, and one blueberry smoothie. Drinks are generally sweet, so I appreciate the cashier telling me that since I adjusted to less sweet. Sweetness was good. Honestly the drinks were not bad. But the popcorn chicken thing I ordered, wow the chicken had a gamey smell to it. I'm from the bay area, and that my only boba option in Evanston was pretty much Kung Fu Tea really really depressed me, since they use powdered everything and it's just narsty. Their milk tea has no tea flavor, just that sticky gummy powdered milk taste, and their boba is unflavored and usually weirdly soft. Joy Yee is better, but not by a lot and it's really expensive. But wow this place. It's literally better than most of the Bay Area boba places. They use really strong tea, fresh-brewed tea, and the flavor comes through. They use actual milk (you can see because they let you mix the tea and milk together yourself. Most boba places in the bay area don't even do that!), and they make their own boba, and wow the difference. This place is literally so good. They MAKE their own boba. Why don't more places do that? This place is comparable to Boba Guys. I've tried their brown sugar milk tea with boba, their brown sugar milk with boba, their matcha with strawberry and boba, and their four fruit tea thing with boba. This is the best natural bubble tea around Evanston. They make everything in house so it's not filled with a ton of artificial junk. BEST BUBBLE TEA PLACE !!!!! So first of all, I've tried so much bubble tea in my life, for example, kung fu tea, chill bubble, joy yee, tea-rex, and even more. The staff are so nice and friendly, and are always happy to help me. Tealicous bubble sends off the happiest vibes, especially the plushie wall. I cannot compare the greatness of their handmade boba to any other place. It is so soft and fresh and has the perfect taste and size. I even have dreams about their boba. I've tried a lot of the items on their menu, the fried chicken is delicious but maybe a bit salty and the bubble waffles are the perfect crisp. I also really love the traditional winter melon tea. The herbal jelly shaved ice is also sooo good with their handmade boba on top of it. All of the drinks are also not too sweet either and they have a really cool adjustment system for the ice and sugar levels, which makes it a lot healthier. In their smoothies they also put fresh fruit which and fresh boba (if you request) which is so much better than joy yees smoothies. First of all, I seriously think they should remove the "Spicy Chicken Wing" off the menu because they NEVER have, I mean NEVER, regardless what day and what time I go. Other than this, everything is excellent. You can blindly try anything at this place and you won't be disappointed, many of us have done that. unpleasant service. Went there yesterday at ~5:30pm. There were two attendants and the shorter one was assisting me. She did not provide a good service throughout. I ordered an egg waffle with ice cream and fruit. The ordering process was already kinda pushy with a poker face. Then before she made it, I asked for using a different flavor of ice cream instead of vanilla and she was like: errr, ok... giving me an annoyed face. I don't understand why that annoyed her (same price and the flavor choice was not on the bill or anything)? Seems like she is not interested in any communication with the customer. But I get it, maybe she just doesn't want the customer to talk about anything after they already paid. Then I got the egg waffle and left. Three minutes later, I remember that the menu description says it has strawberry and mango on top of the ice cream, and I didn't get it. So I returned and asked, she was like: "oh some customers don't want it. If you want I can give you." But their menu description says it comes with fruit, and shouldn't her ask the customer before taking that out??? I did not feel like talking with her at all, so took my waffle and left. It all comes to boba. I was hyped knowing handmade boba is even an option for a shop. After 2 failed- attempt to homemade boba, I can tell you that it's extremely hard to even ace the dough. Tealicious concept is even better: freshly brewed, nicer cup/ lid materials, nice store décor and fresh boba. However, after 2 visits, I do not see myself coming back until next summer: Boba was flat and... lacks the volume that gives the chewy satisfaction, the sensation that got me hooked. Please add the option for "usual" boba, or consider making bigger/ rounder boba Also, my brown sugar bubble latte 50% sugar no ice is very sweet. I don't usually waste a cup of precious $5, and I could take on 100% sugar at other brand, but I abandoned mine and move on to my hubby's peach tea no boba. Peach tea was decent (tasted bitter because my previous were too sweet, but I like the real-tea-bitterness). The drinks need ice to balance the sweetness. read more
