I came back to town and wanted some duck and I heard from others that this place has some good duck, so I had to try. We ordered the rice plate with 2 entrees and selected the roast pork & duck ($11.95) and also got an order or the tonkatsu ramen ($9.95, I think). The rice plate was delicious. It had a good portion of rice with veggies and my choice of duck & pork. You can choose chicken or bbq pork too. It was very filling and I even had some leftovers and finished it later. Pork was crispy and duck was juicy, just perfect :) Oh, it also came with a free cup of lemon tea. The tonkatsu ramen was basic. Broth was ok, noodles ok, sliced pork ok. I had better, so I say skip the ramen here and get the rice plate. There's also snacks like popcorn chicken, crispy tofu, chicken wings, and drinks (latte, milk tea), and etc. Maybe I'll come back and try the snacks and drinks one day. Service was pretty terrible. There were two of us ordering empress chicken and we both had wanted ginger scallion oil. We were given one. We proceeded to ask for one more 5 times and each time got confirmation they'll get it but they never did. Initially we just thought they kept forgetting but then I remembered the second time we asked for it, the waitress rolled her eyes after seeing there was ONE little tablespoon of oil with a speckle of ginger on the table. There were 5 of us there and even so, we didn't want to share dipping sauces for hygienic reasons. The cherry on top was one of us had to wait 40 minutes after the 3 of us received our orders. Then the last person waited 50 minutes for hers. I was told the waitress was really abrupt and dismissive about the delay. I'd give negative stars if I could. Onto the actual food. Best roast duck in the greater Sacramento area! The grilled pork neck meat is also one of my favorites. The hainanese chicken rice is similar to what you can get in singapore, my only gripe is that the ginger dipping sauce tastes a little bit different from what i'm used to, still good though. Bf wanted to try this place for a while now so we decided to come for dinner.. They were surprisingly quite busy on a Wednesday night. I looked thru some photos on Yelp and saw that the beef stew w hand pulled noodles looked pretty good and so that's what I wanted to order. Unfortunately when I asked about it, they didn't have it on the menu. I did see beef stew rice plate on the menu so I ordered that instead but when it came out, it wasn't exactly like the beef stew in the yelp pic. I wish they had more photos on the menu! Anyways, the beef stew that came out was something that my dad have made many times at home so I wasn't too excited about it. Also, it had way too many tendons on it which I didn't like and it didn't have much meat! Flavor was just ok. I wouldn't order again. On the other hand, my bf ordered the two piece rice plate meal with the signature tea king chicken and crispy pork. The chicken was surprisingly really good and flavorful. It was also tender. Came on the Thursday evening around 8:30pm. parking is narrow and getting in the lot can be tricky. Surprisingly there no cars in the lot and two customers were just walking out. This review is only for their duck. If you buy a whole roasted duck, do not let them cut it. Just buy it whole and cut it yourself at home. Otherwise, they'd take pieces of the duck and put it in their rice entree for other orders. How did we confirm? We've always had suspicions of missing pieces of our duck when we take it home after they cut it. Sometimes our duck would miss the meaty chunks and sometimes the duck is just super light. One time my mom called and asked for a whole duck, they said they're out of whole duck but they have rice duck entree left. How can you be out of whole duck but have duck for their rice dish? It's the stolen pieces of duck from people ordering whole duck. If you stand in line and wait for your order, you'll also notice everyone ordering whole duck will not let them cut it. The salty sauce paired with fatty and crispy skin of the duck blends well. Noodle: oily and wok fried the only way noodle should be cooked. Pork ear. It says spicy but it wasn't spicy. My husband bought a whole roasted duck from this restaurant, and of course, they cut it up for us. When we got home and opened the box, we were shocked to find that the duck was incredibly small. Upon closer inspection, we realized the entire breast, one drumstick, and a whole wing were missing! They had tried to reassemble it to look like a whole duck, but it was far from it. This duck cost $37, and to have it missing such significant parts is absolutely unacceptable. It's misleading and dishonest . Very crispy and juicy, it is a tad bit salty for my taste but with some rice, it tastes perfect! This was my first time trying their Hainanese chicken rice plate and I definitely was not disappointed! The rice also has a ton of flavor! Again, it can be a tad salty but not a deal breaker in my opinion. I didn't get a drink this time but the times I've had their drinks, I will say their drinks are a hit or miss. From the outside it doesn't look like much, it's in a shopping center on Freeport. The shopping center itself looks like it has seen better days. But once you step inside, the decor is nice and there are booths to sit in. Once we came in, we ordered at the counter but noticed as other people came in to eat they sat down and had someone take their order. Boyfriend got the Tonkatsu Black Garlic ramen, definitely enjoyed it. I got the Beef Brisket Noodle soup. Loved the saltiness of the broth, with the stewed daikon and beef brisket and tendon. Eating it reminded me of home since my parents make a dish similar to this. Of course I asked for chili oil! I love spicy and it tasted great with the noodle soup. I came here opening week in 2018 but since have not returned due to excessively salty food and quality. I returned yesterday only to relive that same sortie after nearly 5 years. We got the lamb stew and wow...grossly salty. My toddler son woke up several times in the middle of night to drink water and cough. I have a sore throat from coughing and my lips are so dry and dehydrated that they hurt when opening my mouth. $21 for small lamb stew. Large is $38... The roast duck was also very salty. I've been back a couple of times and each experience has been solid. We've had their chicken wings and scallion pancake with curry sauce. I could do shots of the sauce alone, that's how good it was. The wings are flavorful, but I wish they were a bit bigger. You can't go wrong with the biang biang noodles. They went well with the wings plus a little bit of the curry sauce mixed in with the noodle sauce was amazing! I like their jasmine and oolong milk teas, but currently favoring the oolong. I'd like to try their black sugar latte and their thai tea with ice cream. That sounds like it would be perfect for the cooler weather. Service here is efficient. You get seated right away. They take your order and serve your food in a timely manner. Whether or not you get a warmer reception depends on who you get, but we've never had bad service. My only complaint with Tealicious is their dessert. I've ordered their tiramisu on two different occasions. The first time we ate in the restaurant and I saw them take it out of a commercial box right before they served it. Sadly, it was still frozen. The second time, I got it to go. A few coworkers and I stopped by for lunch and tried their hot pots, ramen, fruit teas, and milk teas. The staff were friendly and efficient. Plus, our orders came out really quickly. I tried the black garlic tonkatsu ramen and black milk tea with coffee jelly. For $8.95, the ramen was a good size for the price. The broth and noodles were good but I didn't care for the sliced pork (which was overly fatty) and plain egg. As for the milk tea, it was good but the flavor was on the weaker side. Decided to check out Tealicious for dinner since we only had drinks from them before. We ordered the two item duck rice plate, bake rice with cream sauce and pork chop and crispy fried tofu. Unfortunately, the rice in the duck plate was very dry, hard, and tasted very old. The duck had good flavor but was quite bony. For the duck plate it's an extra one dollar for the one item combo and extra two dollars if you want this protein twice for the two item combo. This dish was not worth $15. The bake rice dish wasn't that good either, both dishes were quite disappointing. The crispy fried tofu was okay, it was cut on the bigger side so wasn't really crispy but was better than the other two dishes. I did order a passion fruit and tangerine drink and that was good.
