I've only had their watermelon fruit tea slushie but I've gotten it many times and it's the perfect refreshing treat. It's very sweet and maybe it's a syrup, but it tastes like really excellent, fresh blended watermelon. I think sometimes it has some really good oolong tea in it, but other times maybe not? Got a lot of recommendations for duck at this place. We were in the area so we went there to get one. The place was busy and very few parking spaces in the lot. Just wanted the duck. There were a lot of people in the place but they said they already ordered. The places has a bunch of tables so you can eat inside the restaurant. They are a bit unorganized. I don't get to this side of town much but when I do prefer to eat here! My son ordered the brisket noodle soup with rice noodle and he wasn't particularly fond of the rice noodle, he said it was a bit hard. Everything else about the soup was good! When they handed me the cut up duck, I noticed it was lighter than usual but did not think much of it at the time. When I got home and opened the container, it looked unusually small. I also add a tofu and baby bok choy with black mushrooms in a supreme sauce that was very good. Of the five Chinese restaurants in the strip center, they are in the top two with Hong Kong Wok. Jade Fountain is home style and Ho Chin Market are also in the running, A new Restaurant named Old Gui Lin has also joined the selection. This review is only on the tea side of the restaurant, but it did look appealing on the other side of the restaurant. There was also a roasting duck in the window of the kitchen, and it looked mouth watering. The parking situation isn't good, but most places in this stretch of Freeport don't have good parking spots available. Can't knock them for it. In the same strip mall is Jade Fountain and New Hong Kong Wok and their parking situation makes the one at Tealicious seem like a walk in the park in comparison. The good news: we were helped pretty quickly. They took our order quickly and handed us a menu too, even though it's really easy to see the big menu at the register. They had really nice reusable cups too for the tea! Now for the not-so-good: it took a while to get our tea. In terms of boba, it was a longer-than-expected wait. We eventually got it. The flavor was tea-heavy, which is nice if you're not into the sugar-and-milk heavy ones. However, after the first five sips, it wasn't that great. As of lately, I've been coming here at least 2x a month. The food is typically consistent, but last Saturday was a bust. The flavors for both the duck and chicken were completely off - they mentioned that they ran out of the duck a few times to us and other customers and it'll take about 30 mins to cook. This was around 11:45am. They open at 11am. During peak hours, the wait time can range from 15 to 45 mins, due to the small space and people don't really rush when they're eating here. The staffs are monotone - not really talkative - they pretty much just take your orders and drop your food off to your table. Water refills does not typically occur often. I'm giving it 4 stars because I know the potential of the food especially when the quality was great and the food typically comes out at a decent time. I would NOT recommend the ramen. The broth sucked. I'd say the worse ramen I had. The spicy cucumber salad was not spicy and lacked flavor. It was oily more than anything. Their meat quantity varies every time , the first time there was a lot of meat on my 2 item entree, the second time I went there, they gave me a lot of skin and fat on the chicken and duck on my 2 entree. I really like the BBQ Duck & BBQ Pork rice combo plate here! The duck is juicy and the skin has a nice crisp to it. A lot of bones but thats how duck is. The pork is tender and I especially like the fatty pieces. Both have a great flavor. The 2 entree BBQ rice plate comes with a good portion of food that comes with rice and a veggie for about $17ish with tax. The first time I went bok choy was the veggie and the time after it was cabbage. I found that both my take out and dine in experiences were very efficient. Maybe I was lucky, and I didn't have to wait long the times I've gone even when busy. I don't prefer the parking situation there but at least it's free. I'm gonna give you the insider tip for Tealicious: order the roast meats, and skip the rest. People line up like crazy to get the roast duck to go. If you want to eat in, I suggest you get the bbq/roasted sampler with the duck, chicken, pork belly, and cha siu, along with a bowl of rice for each person. That's the best bang for the buck IMO. I've tried the ramen, noodle soup, and baked dish with cheese, and they were underwhelming at best. The milk tea seems a bit bland to me, but tasted better after I ate something salty. Go figure. The service is pretty slow due to the amount of crazy take out business they get, but I'm not faulting the wait staff, just preparing your expectations. A friend recommended we try Tealicious, and after looking at their pictures, I was excited to try this place. I ordered the bbq duck noodles, and my sister ordered the combination rice plate with empress chicken and crispy pork. For starters, we ordered fried calamari and spicy cucumbers. The spicy cucumbers were delicious ! The spice was very smoky like Szechuan, and that's a different taste from what I am used to (Thai chili). Scale of 1-10 on the spice level would be a 7! The fried calamari was a little on the salty side, so we asked to take it off of our order. The staff was really accommodating and didn't give us any flack about it. My noodles were amazing! The flavor without any additions was delicious! The duck is by far my favorite protein that I tried there. After savoring the first bites, I asked for chili to add to my noodles, bad idea! It changed the flavor of the soup dramatically, but that's my own fault. I couldn't eat it after that, because all I could taste was peppercorn and spice. Definitely eat it as is, and a plus, they offer generous portions! My sisters plate was a masterpiece the crispy pork was appetizing, but the empress chicken was better. My only con of this dish is I wish they gave you the ginger oil mix on the side for the empress chicken, and the rice tasted like day Old rice you would use in fried rice (which is what I did with the leftover rice when I got home I made fried rice with it and it was delicious) for the business owner, I would recommend crisping up the rice on a wok or pan so that at least the texture and flavor compliments the dish overall rather than tasting unintentionally old :) Their fruit teas were bomb too btw, I ordered a blueberry fruit tea with cream on top, and I thought at first that it would just be a slushy, but the tea flavor actually stood out and the drink went really well with the salted cream on top, perfect for a hot day! My friend was already there sitting st our table. So I let them know which table I was going to. 2) waitress was quiet. But nice. She took our drink orders and gave us time to review their menu. 3) they provided lime water for me. Water tasted great. No funky or metal taste. 4) Once we order our foods and received it, all of their food dishes were great. Very flavorful. 5) Maggi duck chin tasted great, shredded duck soup was delicious, wings were good, and even the 2 meat combo dish was good. 6) restaurant is small but cute. 7) bathroom is clean. Was underwhelmed by the mango pomelo sago as it lacked pomelo and mango flavor. Red bean milk tea was very good my mom loved it and said the beans were cooked well with great sweetness. They've changed up the menu a few times over the years. The food here seems to be focused on roasted meats over rice. There is definitely a different ambience nowadays, when it first opened it seemed to be going for a quieter vibe for younger people wanting to grab a drink and some snacks, the vibe now reminds me more of cafes in Hong Kong. It has a busier, louder vibe. The bbq duck here is really the star here, I come here quite often for it. The empress chicken is also pretty good, so I'll often get a rice plate with the duck and chicken. I usually really like roast pork, but I find their version just ok.
