This is a quint little place. A real hometown feel with great food. I ordered a pick up of breakfast- French toast, eggs, and fried potatoes. The food I saw coming out of the kitchen and how packed they were really showed how much people liked the place. I would like to try their lunch/ dinner next time I visit because it looked delicious. The price range is reasonable and you really get a good amount of food. Legit a diner vibe and nice staff. One thing I will say - be patient with the staff, I went on a Saturday morning and they were packed to the brim and I told the lady at the front to take her time because she was bustling. Tealside Diner is a cute little diner tucked away on old 74. The dinner is small, cute and clean. They maybe can seat a total of 50 people in the restaurant. The tables are pretty close together. The place seems to be a place for locals to go. Teal side slammer was great. Potato cakes were seriously so good just a tad on the greasy side. The waffle was fluffy and tasted like funnel cake, it just needed another minute to cook to get some crispness to it. The southern burger was flavorful, hot and juicy! The waitress was very sweet, and seemed like she was taking care of all the tables herself but holding it down pretty well. We didn't have to wait long for our food. Definitely coming back to try more. read more

This place has really good breakfast food. I had the French toast sandwich. The service was good also. The people were really nice.

We were loyal patrons of the omelette house so naturally we had to give tealside a shot upon their opening. I would say the food was good, the service was friendly, and the ambiance is the same but it was just different.... A couple things we noticed is some of the menu items were the same or sounded so at least but it's just missing what we knew and loved. The gravy was different than what we were use to, the omelettes although good and similar sounding are different and we miss the cherry cheescake French toast... we would eat here again but we ultimately miss what we knew. read more

Food was splendid, staff was nice when I walked in the staff greeted me and made me warm inside.

This was some of the best food I have ever tried, I got the fill'e of fish and id was so flaky and it could melt in your mouth I bet I could 5 of those things!!The apple sauce was brilliant it was fresh and tasted so fresh! From the reviews I had read, it sounded like dinner time was the best time for us to find a table and parking spot without waiting. We were successful on both counts. Tables were about 75% full throughout our entire meal. Service is friendly and the restaurant is clean. Portions are plentiful. Highlights were the cheeseburgers, potato cakes, and soft drink syrups (vanilla and cherry). The French Fries were just done. Another couple of minutes of cooking time would have made them perfectly crispy. While I'm not sure this will be a destination restaurant for us, it's a nice option in the Eastgate area and an excellent alternative to the many chain restaurants and fast food joints. read more

Went to lunch today. The place was packed as usual. This use to be one of our favorite places to go. A group was splitting between the bar and a 4top table. We were waiting next. The group saw the table open up and instead of fitting in the 6 top and giving us the 4 top for our family they took both tables and left the bar open. I have a young family. When I walked up to address the issue. Which prior to all of this I was not acknowledged at all. They had no solution and when I said how rude this was they just agreed. Unfortunately seems if you are not WHITE you can still get treated as a second class citizen. Great food unfortunately my family is not as important as the large group of white people. It wasn't busy, but we did have to wait 7 minutes to order the daily special because I guess you can't order before 4. I had the single cheeseburger and fries, husband had double decker club and Saratoga chips and sister had the special, chopped sirloin with mashed potatoes and green beans. The cheeseburger and fries was a value ($9.99) - the burger was good with lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. Hubby said the double decker club was good, but he wished it was only a single because it was too much food and it was a little pricey for a sandwich and chips ($11.69). The sirloin dinner, according to my sister, was good, but was too pricey ($19.99) and she wouldn't have ordered it if she'd known the price. This is my definition of the Perfect Breakfast. $6.99 for 2 eggs, meat, killer potatoes, and I added toast. The price is special early, but then only $9.50 or so after! You may do a double take when you think you're going to a gas station, but it's actually a tiny little strip mall that holds this most wonderful gem ! This is a small, hometown Café. They have an excellent breakfast menu and great selections for lunch and dinner. The potato cakes are a specialty. The omelettes are well proportioned. The burgers are formed by hand and very tasty. When visiting this small restaurant, keep in mind that it is a true café. The seating and tables are close together, but there is still an opportunity to have nice discussions with those at your table. If you don't mind this seating option, there are bar seats at the window, facing out of the restaurant and bar seats at the counter near the kitchen. Our experience has been favorable each time we have been there. The wait staff have been attentive and friendly. This is a favorite location for locals, but a great place to visit if you're just passing through. Don't expect all the fancy flare of a chain restaurant. If you enjoy small cafés with decent prices and no frills, but attention to the food and the guests, you'll probably enjoy Tealside Diner. read more

My daughter and I stopped in on a Sunday morning about 11 AM and the place was hopping. She got the biscuits and gravy with bacon and I got a double-decker with french fries.
