This is a must visit for a charming and relaxing tea experience! Hidden inside a pottery studio, you'll enter into a basement-like space and go left until you run into the tea shop. All of the tableware is handmade pottery from the space which adds to the charm. If you are able to get table service in the space you can experience a very intentional and calming tea experience. If not, they have some seating right outside the main tearoom where you order for takeaway options. My husband had tried this a year ago with a friend and was dying to take us. I read a lot of great things about their sweet corn matcha latte so was excited to try that. It reminded me a lot of Turtle Chips. If there is room in the main tearoom, you have to get their hot tea. We loved sitting at the bar watching them bloom and prep the teas. The menu had beautiful descriptions for each of the teas. They even came with cookies. They give you a thermos of hot water for the tea so you get about five little servings. Do know there are no windows in the space, but it is still quite cozy. read more

On arrival I will admit I was confused but the cafe is located in the back past the pottery room. The actual cafe is rather small but there's more space to sit outside of the cafe area. I adore the vibe of the cafe as it feels pretty intimate and quiet. If you had work or studying to do I think this would be a good place. They have a wide variety of teas on their menu and specialty drinks. They also have small pastries that they offer. I decided on a sweet corn houjicha and a yuzu pistachio financier. Both were excellent and I felt like I devoured it quicker than I anticipated. The houjicha was deliciously creamy from the corn flavor and the warm financier to finish was perfect. They also hand whisk your matcha and houjicha which feels a bit rare now that people cut corners and use premade matches. The workers were quiet but super sweet if you needed help with anything. They were kind enough to give recommendations for other places to try while visiting NYC and for that I thank them plenty. :) read more

Very cute and asthestic cafe! It is tucked behind a pottery studio, requiring you to walk through the pottery studio and turn left once you get inside. There is plenty of seating and you can get your drink to go or sit there. I got the sweet corn matcha latte, which the barista told me was their most popular matcha. Updating this to 4 stars as they recently changed their cups to plastic for iced drinks and no longer fill the drinks all the way to the top. I still really enjoy the drink and was raving about it to my friends. When they got it, all of our drinks weren't filled and it just doesn't feel like we're getting our money's worth, even though it may be the same measurements. Okkkk, this is the cutest little hidden tearoom nestled behind a pottery space and a clothing shop. It's got the most aesthetic vibe transporting you straight to Japan. There's some open seating in front of the clothing shop, but we were able to score a table inside. It's a tight space with some counter seats and 5 small tables for two. We decided to try a hot and cold tea, so ordered the Iced Sweet Corn Matcha Latte ($7.50) and Laobanzhang ($15). The matcha latte had the perfect balance of corn without either flavor overpowering each other --quite impressive considering how strong matcha can be. This was divine and such a splendid combination. But the hot tea here is such an experience that you must order too! It comes on a platter with a thermos of hot water to refill your teapot. They even provide instructions for you and all the delicate ceramic cups are just exquisite. I'm just obsessed with this spot! I'm not often in this area, but will surely come back for this spot. I've stopped by here for a little break from work and wow this is truly the spot to treat yourself, but also just to sit down and enjoy a drink or snack in a calming space. I found this via social media and I'd say the IRL experience just can't be felt through TikTok/Instagram, it's definitely worth stopping by; the outside is very hidden so I feel like everyone who does stop by was actively looking to be there. I ordered the Black Sesame Maple Houjicha and it was quite nutty and refreshing, plus they use reusable metal straws. There is bar seating as well as intimate seating for groups/dates. The route to the tearoom is quite unique-you start at the pottery studio through a retail store then finally land at the cafe. It was super nice speaking with the people working behind the bar as we bonded over matcha, spots to check out in the city, and the new seasonal menu itself. Even though I only ordered one drink, I never felt rushed or pressured to order more. So I've been here a few times now and it's a hit or miss. One day, I had a solid corn matcha latte. Another day, I had a clumpy matcha. Because the drinks are not consistent and the flavors are not standout for me, this isn't my normal go to matcha spot. However, I love that this spot is tucked away behind the pottery studio. My partner came here midday on Thursday and we were seated right away. The tearoom is adjacent to a clothing boutique and a pottery studio. Very chill and great vibes. The seem to partner with Lysee for their pastries and we love Lysee so it was perfect. We ordered the yuzu loaf and the black sesame Madeline. Both have very tasty and flavorful glazes and dense/moist pastries. We were pleasantly surprised to find a black sesame cream filling in the Madeline. For drinks we ordered a matcha latte and hojicha maple latte. Both of excellent quality. One of my favorite matcha spots. The matcha on its own is delicious and the corn definitely elevates it. I was scared the corn would be overly sweet or distract from the matcha itself, but it's not sweet and actually pairs well with the matcha. I've also tried their hojicha and thought the flavor was nice - though it's not as strong as the matcha flavor in my opinion. I like how they have a seating area right outside (indoors) if you don't want to dine-in (which has a different menu that I haven't tried). The service is fast and I would recommend getting there early. It gets quite busy around 3-4pm and the seating area gets quite full.
